acomaf vs acowar
people who keep saying acowar was trash compared to acomaf…. let me tell ya something… acowar and acomaf are two different books with two different purposes. acowar was a character driven book. the whole purpose of it was for character arcs and development. it was supposed to be a bridge for something to come. rhysand and feyre’s relationship drove the book, which made it so enjoyable. acowar was a plot driven book. its whole focus was on the war with hybern. the entire point of the book was to find a solution. the WAR drives the book. and for a book focused on war, it was pretty darn good. of course acomaf was better than acowar in the character sense, but the characters were already developed in acowar. acowar needed to be plot driven if anything was gonna get done in this world.
well written badass heroines and incredibly attractive complex villains/anti-heroes that slowly go from enemies to friends to in love are my aesthetic tbh
Let me tell y'all punks something about ACOWAR (spoiler FREE I promise)
I LOVED this book for one glaring reason (that goes beyond how much more Azriel we got, but I digress).
That reason is the gray area. There is SO. MUCH. moral gray area in ACOWAR. Characters that I admittedly thought were PERFECT and could do no wrong did wrong. Characters I thought were pure evil did right.
SJM portrayed a beautiful picture of humanity in a fantastical world. Not one of us is morally right or morally wrong, point blank. We are MESSY, and so was every character in ACOWAR. MESSY. And she didn’t shy away from portraying them as such. The characters moved all over the spectrum of right and wrong and that’s just LIFE.
The gray area is a GOOD THING. Now is it going to incite a million and one arguments on this platform concerning the age old argument of “oh so and so did this when they should have done this because I say so and since they didn’t they’re A PURE EVIL ABUSER SATAN WORSHIPPER BLAH BLAH BLAH.” And that part sucks. But real people are messy and all over the spectrum. And so is ACOWAR and I LOVE IT.
ACOTAR Coloring Book Giveaway
For all my followers who are also fans of the ACOTAR series, due to a series of random and kind of hilarious mixups, I ended up ordering an extra copy of the ACOTAR coloring book. I can’t get my money back and rather than try to sell it, I decided it’d be easier to give it away. :)

a) no more fights between elucien and elriel shippers b) bat boy is finally happy c) fox boy is finally happy d) wingspan meets fire dick

It’s not your story. You do not get to decide anything about the plot or characters. You get pissy when she doesn’t do things and pissy when she does. She tries to give you what you ask for and you get pissy about that too. She’s not some perfect little marionette that you pull the strings for. She is telling her stories as honestly as she can. If you don’t like it, fine. But don’t get angry with her when things don’t go exactly how you want them to go.

Logical thinking on the dual pov of acowar:
So I know a good many of us are freaking out about the dual POV because the last time an author switched to dual in the third book from only having the main character’s POV in the first two, the main character died (if you know what I’m talking about, I feel your pain) but honestly, Feyre’s already died once. AND SJM has confirmed Feysand is 100% endgame (don’t ask me about my horrible thoughts about this because yes I have them). The dual POV almost certainly is because we’d miss a HECKUVA lot of info by not getting the night court perspective while Feyre’s in the spring court. Also, remember that ACOMAF was originally written in both Feyre and Rhys’ POVs but SJM cut out the Rhys parts (I want it) to make the mating bond a complete surprise to everyone because we only knew what Feyre knew. Don’t worry guys. The dual POV only means we get to see more of Rhys’ inner thoughts

I want to see what kind of age range a fandom around ‘New Adult’ sits in. The books are often put in the YA section, but there’s smut in them, and we all know the fandom LOVES chapter 55. This is kind of for relevant data for the ‘Is Sex in YA OKAY?’ debate.
