hot sand coated your face and salt crusted your eyes. Water washed up your legs. Groaning you get up. You cover one side of your face from the sunlight and look around. Where the heck are you?
I know you all have amazing creative juices in you and some amazing characters. This prompt is just for you to have fun and to help you explore your Character in a different setting. I would LOVE to hear what your Characters would do.
i like nature so no vengeance for me
A long time ago in Eastern Europe an army was preparing for a battle that was scheduled for sunrise.
the army was in a valley and they expected that the enemy would arrive following the path alongside the river.
Instead the enemy came over the hill with the rising sun behind them.
The army in the valley had to shoot their arrows blindly up the hill at the men who were approaching on horseback.
Despite the impossible odds they were able to cause enough damage to the enemy by reducing their numbers that the remaining horseriders turned and fled back up the hill.
The early morning mist had become pink with the bloodsplatter that had blended with the floating vapor.
Unfortunately the heat of the morning sun caused said mist to flow downhill into the valley containing the victorious army.
Accounts say the army could taste the blood and their vision became red filtered from the bloody mist entering their eyes.
The army fled up the opposite hill to escape from the disgusting event.
However, the army started to become ill with a mysterious new disease.
The victorious army were new to the area and didn't know about local ailments.
They sent a message back to their superiors despite the phrasing implying that they were being cursed by God this was just a common way of saying that they had an infectious disease for that time period.
A small parade of advisors and their protectors came to inspect the situation they arrived before the next morning travelling along the river's path.
When they arrived in the valley nothing seemed amiss other than the army camp up the hill with far too many wrapped bodies.
Then the morning mist rolls in.
Among the parade the mist starts to fill the valley.
Like before it's pink it tastes like metal and their vision is red filtered just like in the message.
They panick and flee along the river.
They notice the river itself has a mild red shade through the clear water.
Upstream they make a camp it becomes similar to the one they saw.
What happens next is unclear there's conflicting accounts.
What we do know is that the historical accounts became twisted over time and rumor became myth and legend.
From this the belief came about of the beastly mist The Efor.
A pink mist made of the blood of animals one that sees the killing of hooved one as an evil deed and one worthy of punishment.
The mist is friends with the forest and if you hurt those of the forest the mist will be displeased.
The mist comes with the morning if too many creatures have died the mist will be stained red as it is the Efor a vengeful spirit.
The Efor seeks to teach man's folly and for that have not profited too heavily from the forest it deems can be spared and so the Efor sends visions into the hearts of man to give them fear and doubt of their destructive ways.
The Efor can see the future as all spirits can and will give that knowldge to the righteous ones who have not caused suffering to the forest and its kin.
The Efor is born of the bile it creeps inside us and pours itself out for it fears the hearts of those sinful men.
Make peace with the Efor.
Do not exploit.
For it is in you.
And it is watching.
I thought this was a funny little thing.
