"For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace."
— Romans 6: 14 (NKJV)
#WhatMatters is a campaign aimed to maximize the impact of the BLM movement by galvanizing BLM supporters and allies to the polls in the U.S Presidential Election to build my collective power and ensure candidates are held accountable for the issues that systematically and disproportionately impact Black and under-served communities across the nation
AntiBlackness lives in every corner of the world
Yes, even Black people, and it usually manifests as internalized oppression or racism. So we all have to work to undo that in ourselves and in the world
I can talk facts and numbers and write stories all day, but some white folks will never hear it from me. That’s where the work of white allies comes in. We need you to do that work, because it’s emotional laborious and draining, and it’ll most likely be better received coming from a white person because, honestly, that’s how white supremacy works
“Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God” (Galatians 5:19-21)
Temptations are very real and sometimes intense. Many succumb to them and fall into various sins. Therefore, we have to recognize them and deal with them, not in our own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit and by His word. How? By offering our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, and by not being conformed to this world, but being transformed by the renewing of our minds with the word of God. When we do that, God helps us not only to overcome every temptation and but enables us to bear much fruit for Him.
The situation around the prophet was utter chaos. He was weary and deeply troubled by Israel’s sin. Furthermore, God revealed to him about the impending judgment. He was terrified by the events that would follow. How did he respond? Habakkuk chooses to lean on God for strength. He proclaims, “The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on the heights.” Habakkuk 3:19
What do you do when your strength fails, when you see hopelessness all around you? Trust in the faithfulness of God. Let God be the one who strengthens you. Let God lift you up, restore you and elevate you to heights you have never known.
For He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6
Imagine that!
Have faith
