This is glorious and even thought it doesn’t fit in the range of all the paranormal, I MUST share

It works like this: You tell Kitestring that you’re in a dangerous place or situation, and give it a time frame of when to check in on you. If you don’t reply back when it checks your status, it’ll alert your emergency contacts with a custom message you set up.

It doesn’t require you to touch anything (like bSafe) or shake your phone (like Nirbhaya) to send the distress signal. Kitestring is smarter, because it doesn’t need an action to alert people, it needs inaction.

look me in the eyes. you are aware some asexual people have sex, right. you are aware some asexuals aren’t sex repulsed. you do not need to baby asexuals and act like the slightest mention of anything sexual will cause them to die of a heart attack

my biggest issue with the httyd live action-and just about any live action reboot is that it seems that the live action adaptations are being made to make the original “better”? like, so many people talk about a live action spiderverse, a live action hercules, a live action PRINCE OF EGYPT (dont piss me OFF.)-like animation is a beautiful work of art, and for some reason putting real people and cgi in it is supposed to be an “upgrade”? im probably being that friend that’s too woke or whatever, but i just think it’s so disrespectful to act like something that takes so much time and effort and energy is immediately considered as lower because it is animated. animation is beautiful, and it is one of the most heartfelt art forms there are, and erasing that for the sake of a cash grab is downright degrading to animation as a medium.

This Picture Has Been Circulating All Over Social Media And I Have More To Add:

This picture has been circulating all over social media and I have more to add:

Delete all period cycle tracking apps off your phone today.

Do not tell anyone why you want to take your trip, especially over text/apps.

Do not tell anyone the real state/destination of your trip.

Have everyone on your trip turn off their phones. Use written directions or a burner phone. Do not use burner phone to open any personal apps. Dispose of after trip.

Only use cash while purchasing ANYTHING on your trip.

Take “vacation” photos to post later. Be cautious of geo-tags/only post screenshots of the original photos.

Some people might say this is being extra or overly precautious, but this really is the reality we are facing. People have been imprisoned with murder charges in certain states- some for literal miscarriages. If you are a person that ends up in this situation, the state can and will use your data against you as evidence in court. Do not leave a paper trail. If they want to treat us like criminals, we’re gonna move like criminals.

my sister was 8 years old when morality police in Tehran stopped us because she wasn’t wearing a headscarf. Dad tried to tell them, she’s only 8, it’s not mandatory until she’s 10, but it didn’t matter to him because she “looked” older. She was forced to wear a scarf before he let us go.

Ok, I feel like I have to say this and I don’t know if it’s going to come off bitchy (I’ve been called this before for my opinion on this site...) or if anyone is actually going to read this and take this to heart or if I’m preaching to the choir! But I feel as if a lot of writers are giving up writing their pieces and it kills me because I’ve literally been in that same place.

I always hear people saying that the hate they receive is what helps drive them to stop doing something they love. I hate that. I hate that no matter how much love someone can get, it doesn’t matter if people continue to hate on them! I, for example, am so happy that I have enough motivation to ignore most of the hate I’ve received.

Look, I don’t care if you reblog or ignore this but if you are by chance reading this then drop a comment in your favorite writers inbox or ask box and let them know you appreciate them. Like, comment, and reblog their beautiful works. Make their notes increase as much as you can and let them know they are doing a great job. It always makes my day and I know it makes others day. Dont pester them with demands for a part 2, tell them you loved the first part and WHY! Most times when writers are asked for a part 2 they have no idea how to expand on it because they don’t know what you like about the first one. TELL THEM.

Share the love and stop the hate. Share their work. REBLOGGING IS YOUR FRIEND, REBLOG TO LET OTHERS READ THEIR WORK!

Ok, I’ve said my peace. Thank you for listening! Please share this so others can read it.

Skip Google for Research

As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.  It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms

As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.  As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.

Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.

Google is so powerful that it “hides” other search systems from us. We just don’t know the existence of most of them. Meanwhile, there are still a huge number of excellent searchers in the world who specialize in books, science, other smart information. Keep a list of sites you never heard of.

www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.

www.worldcat.org - a search for the contents of 20 thousand worldwide libraries. Find out where lies the nearest rare book you need.

https://link.springer.com - access to more than 10 million scientific documents: books, articles, research protocols.

www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.

http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.

www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.

www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.

www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free
