THIS IS MAKING ME GIGGLE.
Whenever Bunny calls someone, it's ALWAYS a face-time/video call, and he ALWAYS asks his friend(s) to turn their camera on too. Oh and, his calls last from around 1 hour to 1hr30 mins. Or however long the other person lets it go, really.
Bunny's also always out of mobile data. So the Greek class usually have their hotspots turned on.
For some reason Francis' devices always have a virus or something, despite the anti-virus softwares he's got?
Camilla and Charles can get into each other's phones with facial recognition.
Whenever Bunny has to sign up for something and he's already used his email, and he's not in the mood to make another one, he just puts in Henry's email đ("Bunny, why am I getting emails from this strange website." "Don't worry about it.")
Have you guys seen the meme about kids showing their dads memes, and they always turn their noses up and stare down their glasses to peer at the image? That's Henry.
Bunny's favorite app is instagram & Snapchat & YouTube (shorts), Richard is pretty active on tumblr & discord, Camilla and Charles prefer pinterest, Francis is both a tiktok and twitter guy, Henry...... likes the chess app.
Bunny 100% stalks Henry (there's nothing to stalk. It pisses him off)
Julian has a Facebook. Bunnys the only one in the Greek class with a Facebook (does he send his professor a friend request? Yes he does.) (Julian accepts.) (Bunny brags to Henry. Henry gets mad and makes a Facebook too just to add Julian and block Bunny.)
Whenever Bunny is mad at someone he blocks them everywhere. And then when they make up he be adding them back like nothing happened
Francis engaging in callouts and twitter drama đ please
Francis venting about twitter drama to his irl friends. Nobody except maybe Richard listens attentively. Henry would pay attention on rare occasions but he can't keep up with who is who ("Who is NickiMinajFeet and why is she angry at this Jojo Siwa person.")
When Camilla and Charles fight they start saving angry pins to their shared board (so they're communicating via angry pins until one of them gets bored and shares a funny pic đ)
Bunny keeps messing with Richard for using discord and calling a discord mod and stuff đ
Henry discovers reddit. Bunny was showing him his post in r/AITA (am I the asshole) about the fight that they had. It was HEAVILY modified and missing context so everyone was calling Henry the asshole. Anyway, that's how Henry discovers reddit and then goes on to actually enjoy it when he starts using it to connect to other literary focused people with an interest in roman n greek history and languages etc
Because of mutual friends, Donald got friend suggestions on Instagram for Bunnys friends. You bet he followed Francis and Henry đđ
The Secret History set in the modern day and everything is the same except Francis has no less than four strawberry ice vapes on his person at all times
John Richard 'Your worst sin is that you have destroyed and betrayed yourself for nothing' Papen
Richard being a flirty drunk. <3
To Camilla at a party:
ââHello,â I said, trying to be nonchalant but delighted and beaming down at her all the same. âHow are you? What are you doing here? Can I get you a drink?ââ
To Henry, when he saw him gardening:
âI let myself in through the side gate. I was quite drunk. âHello,â I said, âhello, hello, hello.ââ
Bonus, when he was high off Demerol, and Francis walked in:
âI was so glad to see him I felt like laughing, and I was so doped up I probably did. âFrançois,â I said idiotically.â
Also, that time he was at that party and he realizes just how much fun everyone outside the Greek class is. And heâs like a little bit in love with everybody there:
âI noted a strange beauty in the faces of people previously repulsive to me. I smiled at everyone and everyone smiled back.â
how i imagine those partygoers looked at camilla and richard when they left that one party together
thinking about how richard papen was so desperate to find somewhere to belong because of the broken family he came from and he was obsessed with the exclusive class and after joining them he started resembling them, picking up their habits and their attitude, all because he wanted a family, to be included, and yet even after he joined them he still remained an outsider up until the very end. âyour worst sin is that you have destroyed and betrayed yourself for nothingâ is so richard papen
whhaaaat people actually like bunny corcoran đłđłđł thatâs so disgusting and horribleâŚanyways look at my posts about the other awful characters that i love from that bookđĽşâ¤ď¸
The reason I'm shaking my head at Richard is that he should've learnt his lesson in school, not during his second shot at studying in college. Trying to fit into an aloof, mysterious group because you think you're more mature and deeper than everybody else, only to find out that the group in question is not that cool and they only hang out because they're insufferable to everyone else, not exclusive. That's typical middle school experience right there.
One guy desperately trying to squeeze into the group, a homophobe who everyone calls queer, a girl and a boy who have a secret code of communicating, another one who's blatantly gay, one that you can tell will grow up to have an addiction...
There was "the Greek class" in every school.
Do you think Henry doesnât like swearing because it reminds him of his father? Maybe his father said âfuckâ a lot and thatâs partially why he snapped at the end when Charles said it. I think Henryâs also a bit prudish.
I think heâs just self-obsessed and he thinks that not swearing makes him better than others, or maybe he thinks itâs common. if you read back through my stuff youâll see evidence of henry swearing, because i think that he only swears during sex- and even then, i think heâd prefer to do it in a language that at least sounds romantic (hence what you get if you translate my username from latin), but iâll die on the hill that henry only swears during sex.
maybe thatâs why he doesnât do it in public, because itâs a private thing (we all know how he went off about the word fuck, so maybe that was why)
tldr henry only swears during sex
reality shifting isnât hard. youâve been told itâs hard because everyoneâs too scared to admit itâs not. they cling to their 800-step methods, their must-have crystals, their perfect conditions because they think that if they let go of that control, theyâll fail. but hereâs the thing: the more you try to control the process, the more you convince yourself itâs out of your control. and thatâs the problem. thatâs why so many people feel stuck. shifting isnât some big, far-fetched thing. itâs just you. itâs always been you.
weâre conditioned to think weâre powerless. think about itâschool, work, society, all of it drills this idea into us that everything has to be proven, earned, validated. so, when you hear about shifting, your brain freaks out and says, wait, wait, this is too easy, this canât be real. and then you spiral. you overcomplicate it. you make yourself think you need the âperfectâ script, the ârightâ subliminal, or that you have to meditate for three hours while the stars align perfectly. like, no⌠you donât. all of that? itâs fluff. itâs noise.
at its core, shifting is belief. just belief. no, really, let that sink in. you donât need to âdoâ belief perfectly. itâs not something you master through sheer willpower. itâs something you already have. youâve believed in things your whole life. you believed in gravity without needing proof. you believe your favorite songs are beautiful without needing to explain why. belief is natural. itâs effortless when you stop overthinking it. thatâs the energy you need to bring to shiftingâtrust. trust that your mind knows what itâs doing, and that if you let it, it will take you there. every single extra thing you pile on? the overthinking, the doubt, the need for guarantees? thatâs whatâs slowing you down. not the âlack of progress,â not some mythical âblockââitâs you convincing yourself itâs harder than it is.
and letâs talk about social media for a second. oh my god, the shifting community on social media⌠i get it. itâs comforting to see other people on this journey. but letâs be honestâhow much of that content is actually helping you? like, really? 90% of the time, scrolling through shifting advice isnât inspiring; itâs overwhelming. everyoneâs got their own opinions, their own âbest methods,â their own rules. one person says scripting is a must, another says itâs a waste of time. one person swears by affirmations, another says visualization is the only way. and before you know it, youâre sitting there questioning everything you thought you knew, wondering if youâll ever get it âright.â spoiler alert: you already know how to shift. you donât need a thousand voices telling you what to do. in fact, the more you listen to them, the harder it becomes to hear yourself.
take a break. seriously. log off the apps. give yourself space to breathe and think. ask yourself: why do i want to shift? whatâs stopping me? what feels right to me? no tiktok trend, youtube guide, or reddit post can answer those questions for you. only you can. and i know that sounds scary. weâve been conditioned to think we need external validation for everything, but shifting is a deeply personal thing. you donât need a step-by-step tutorial. you need to trust your instincts. thatâs it.
and let me be clear: iâm not saying methods or subliminals are bad. theyâre fine if they help you feel aligned. but theyâre not what makes shifting happen. you are. methods are just tools. if you use them, great. if you donât, thatâs great too. because the truth is, shifting isnât about doing things âright.â itâs about letting go of the idea that you need to.
so let me break it down for you. the only things you really need to shift are:
1. a desire. you have to want to go to your desired reality. no brainer, right?
2. belief. this is the big one. you have to trust itâs possible. no âwhat ifs,â no âbut hows.â just trust.
3. persistence. if it doesnât happen right away, thatâs okay. donât give up. if youâve ever learned to ride a bike, you know that falling doesnât mean you canât do itâit just means youâre learning. shifting is the same.
thatâs it. no fancy rituals, no endless research, no âperfectâ conditions. the process is simple because itâs natural. youâve probably done it before without even realizing itâ the only reason it feels hard now is because youâve convinced yourself it has to be.
stop making it harder than it needs to be. shifting isnât this unattainable, mystical thing reserved for âchosen ones.â itâs something anyone can do. you can do it. your mom can do it. that anti-shifter lurking in every crevice of shiftblr could do it. youâve always been capable. but you have to stop getting in your own way. stop doubting yourself. stop relying on others to tell you whatâs possible. this is your journey. own it.
and above all, be patient. shifting is not a race. itâs not about how fast you can get there or how perfect your dr is. itâs about trust, intention, and focus. log off, tune into yourself, and let it happen. shifting has always been yours to claim. itâs not something you need permission for. itâs not something you need to earn. itâs just you, your mind, and your belief. always has been, always will be.
One thing i can yap and yap on about for ages is the fact that the greek class cant for the life of them grasp the fact that bunny is upset by the murder of the farmer
When henry is telling the story of the bacchanal to richard, he says bunny couldnt understand how serious the situation was because he was freaking out which is funny, because he was the only one who understood
Henry also said that bunny wasnt upset about the murder but rather about the fact that theyd gone without him, and that he couldn't possibly care that theyd killed a man because he wasnt "exactly the most moral man" as if u needed to be fucking gandhi to realize that killing someone is wrong
When bunny started acting out they were all convinced he was doing it out of spite or to get under their skin, completely ignoring the signs that showed he was having a complete nervous breakdown and was slowly losing his mind because of what they had done
This is because they themselves did not see the act as something that was morally wrong, but rather an inconvenience for them. Like francis said, it wasnt voltaire they killed. They were so out of touch with reality that they lived not in this world but in one where morality doesnt exist, one they are the center of where the gods personally descend to be by their side. They lived in their ancient tales and greek poems. Bunny was the only one who was grounded and they cant understand that. It doesnt even begin to cross their minds. And its the same with bunnys death, they dont care about the morality of it because in their mind they are closer to gods than to humans and gods do whatever they please. They can kill a farmer and who cares? Its not like he was voltaire. They can kill their friend and who cares? Heroes kill and heroes die all the time.
this distance between them and the real world is the most important part of their characters because it explains everything else, from the incest to henrys suicide. Bunny was the only one who was rooted to reality which is what always set him apart from the rest and most importantly why things started to spiral out of control as soon as they killed him. He was their anchor to the real world and to sanity.
