Okay So If I Put My Utter Horror Of This Idea Aside, I Can Just About Being Myself To Think This Over.

Okay so if I put my utter horror of this idea aside, I can just about being myself to think this over.

To me, this would be one of the worst writing decisions made. Not in Warriors. In literature itself. What the hell would be the point of this? Believe it or not, this would make Squirrelflights Hope an even bigger disgrace of a book than it already is!

There is literally no point in having a character come back from the dead in one book if you’re just going to kill them off for real not even four years later! That would just be a tactic by the team to piss off the fanbase! I don’t think they’re blind to how popular Squilf is, so to kill her off permanently after a full book about her coming back from the dead once before would not only make the “journey” of that book utterly pointless, it would demean the impact of the characters and the whole series in general! It would also demean her journey in the current series; what’s the point of her fighting to be with Bramble again if they’re just going to separate them at the end by having her be the one who’s dead this time?! And before anyone says, oh but that would be the same if Bramble is the one who dies, no it’s not, because Darkness Within had the idea that Squirrel needed to come to terms with the fact that Bramble wasn’t coming back, therefore foreshadowing his permanent death. If they just Uno Reverse the two at the end, it’s purely based on a sense of bias by the writers, because that would be a terrible writing decision.

This would be like bringing back Spider Man or Doctor Strange in Endgame just to kill them off at the end of the movie! Or like when Harry Potter was revived at the end of Deathly Hallows just to kill him off ten seconds later! It’s complete bullshit!

So yeah, I don’t think this will happen, but if it does... By God does it prove how shitty the writing team for this series actually was. I am being fully serious when I say that in the small chance this scenario occurs, I am never coming back to this damn series again!

random thought i had in my brain but i remember how in the first arc one-eye tells bluestar that thunderclan once kept prisoners in their camp for many moons (when they're talking abt what to do with brokentail) and very clearly this is just a one-off line that the writers forgot about (understandable tho cus that happens all the time in tv/books when theres a chunk of time between books) but i kind of ran with that concept and i was like hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....what if that was canon, wait a minute, what if that prisoner was thistleclaw

like. au time - what if after bluefur gives her kittens to riverclan, thunderclan doesnt necessarily buy the badger story. i mean, they can't scent a badger - and its a hard scent to miss. theres no evidence that a badger did, its way too clean of a crime scene. it looks more like the kits wandered off while she was sleeping, and theres no badger scent in their territory.

but i feel like thunderclan isnt dumb abt the fact that bluefur and thistleclaw do not get along, especially after snowfurs death. hes aggressive towards her and then some of the more dramatic cats in the clan - i cant help but think of someone like speckletail or dappletail or smallear - starts a rumor that maybe it WASNT a badger. maybe it was a cat who took bluefurs kits and most likely killed them. maybe it was a thunderclan warrior, who the kits would instinctively trust and follow. maybe it was thistleclaw.

the rumor snowballs and its hard for the most skeptical to deny, because it makes so much sense. hes been weird ever since her kittens disappeared - way too callous and has already just accepted that they were gone, not even offering to look for them or anything, nor comfort bluefur.

and bluefur knows that it wasnt him - obviously lmao, she knows where stonekit and mistykit are. but she knows thistleclaw is dangerous - thats the whole reason she gave them to oakheart. and hes still a candidate for deputy - but if that rumor did happen to be true, he'd be exiled immediately. sunstar would never keep someone who could do something like that in the clan.

so i think bluefur never outwardly says that yes it was him (shes always maintained that she was sleeping when it happened), but she doesnt deny it either.

and after a few more weeks, with tawnyspots getting worse and thistleclaw being more and more ostracized from the clan, sunstar decides to hold trial for thistleclaw - the rumors have reached him, and even he cant deny how suspicious it is. thats who the 'prisoner' was that one-eye is referring to - it was thistleclaw, and when it came down to his 'trial', bluefur did not deny that it would be possible for him to have harmed her kittens. and therefore, he was exiled from thunderclan because of it.

Apprentice Games

Apprentice games are exactly that — apprentice games. They’re kept within the confines of the apprentices’ den, with threats of pranks and assessments gone wrong for anyone who breaches the unspoken rules of the den — if you tattle, you suffer the consequences.

Hollypaw shifts uneasily near the entrance to the den. She’d set her nest up there (instead of farther in, where there was more warmth) out of some need to be the first apprentice up, the first one working. Berrypaw could puke just looking at her nest, positioned so eagerly for work. And to impress the Clan, as if she needed to impress anyone.

Berrypaw levels a stare at the younger apprentice, and with a grimace, Hollypaw’s restless movements cease.

“Okay,” Berrypaw says, lashing his stub of a tail, “you all know why we’re here.”

“No we don’t,” Cinderpaw says, her voice threaded with suffering. “And I’m still not sure who put you in charge.”

“I’m the oldest apprentice,” Berrynose sniffs.

“Technically I am,” Hazelpaw counters, but she doesn’t get up from where she’s rolled on top of Poppypaw, pinning her into her nest.

“I didn’t agree to any of this,” Poppypaw manages, even as she’s crushed.

“You agreed to this when you signed up to be an apprentice,” Berrynose sniffs, hitting his sister over the head with a sheathed paw.

“Technically,” Jaypaw says dully, “the only one of us who signed up to be an apprentice was me.”

“And we’re all glad you’re here!” Poppypaw says, her voice surprisingly chipper for someone who has half of Hazelpaw resting on her back. The other half has migrated to Honeypaw, who looks more amused than anything.

“Anyway,” Berrypaw says, irritation sparking in his limbs, “we’re here to discuss our crushes. Our RiverClan crushes.”

“RiverClan?” Hollypaw squeaks.

“Oh, don’t be so sanctimonious,” Mousepaw grouches. “Everyone has a RiverClan crush. It’s practically a rite of passage.”

Hollypaw still looks deeply offended. “Oh yeah?” she challenges. “Then who’s yours?”

“Minnowpaw,” Mousepaw says, as if this should be obvious. And it should — StarClan knows that Mousepaw has been hanging off of Minnowpaw’s every word at every Gathering since they were apprenticed.

Hollypaw looks appalled. Honeypaw sighs. “You have a crush on Willowpaw,” she informs the black she-cat. “Me next. Pouncepaw.”

“Pouncepaw?” Lionpaw pipes up, his voice high and reedy. “Him? Of all cats?”

Honeypaw eyes him. “I don’t see you doing better,” she says sourly. “Besides,” she says, looking toward her sister.

“Also Pouncepaw,” Poppypaw affirms.

“You’re both crazy,” Cinderpaw says. “Dapplepaw for sure. She’s got such pretty fur.”

“You’re only saying that because you like looking at yourself in puddles,” Mousepaw argues. “Minnowpaw is clearly superior!”

Hollypaw groans.
