"Rey is a Palpatine" mostly sucks, but you can't deny those Luke parallels are so good
(ko-fi requests are open!)
Even if Beskar is supposed to be light his old armor was probably durasteel or something else heavier due to the Empire making a shortage of it by stealing/harvesting/whatever you want to call it all the Beskar they could.
Also like they said in their tags, nothing is that light so while it’s probably the lightest Star Wars metal it still weighs something.
I was at the gym training punches with 5kg halters and a ideia started forming in my mind
Imagine Din and Luke are on a mission together, something to protect Groggy (as usual) and Din HAS to take off his armour for a reason, and then they encounter some stormtroopers and have to fight their way out, but Din is armorless, you would think he is vulnerable, right?
WRONG, he IS NOT, he is surprisingly more of a BEAST then normally, so fucking fast and strong that the imps have no chance against the two of them.
BECAUSE HEAR ME OUT, Din has fought armoured his entire life, THAT AMOUNT OF BESKAR HAS TO BE AT LEAST A FEW KG + You lose mobility with armour! And he learned how to adjust to the weight and everything, so now, without it, he is so fucking faster and stronger that is almost inhumane.
He is helpless because he can't really move like a real person anymore after years of walking around wrapped in metal.
Finished them!
This is the magic lucky word count. Reblog for creativity juice. It might even work, who knows.
STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE PAINTINGS - LUKE SKYWALKER | Illustrated by Brian Rood
WIP Wednesday
“Want me to make some tea?” Luke asked, taking his hand. “Maybe we can try the HearthSpice?”
Din nodded, not trusting his voice at the moment. Then he noticed the shiny object in Padmé’s hair.
“Wait, Veré, are you wearing a karking tiara?” He asked.
Luke and Zoya burst out laughing. Jade sighed and shook her head, muttering a “told you it’s too much.” Padmé smiled and covered her laughs with her hand.
“Din, yesterday was the only day I’ve seen her not go through at least fifteen changes of clothing and I think that was because Luke was trying on her clothes.” Zoya said. “Yes she wears a tiara to bed.”
“I don’t go through that many outfits.” Padmé said.

“Here.” Luke said, handing Din the cup of tea. “It probably won’t taste the same since your parents added stuff to it, but I hope it’s at least still a comfort.”
Din gratefully took the tea. “Thanks sahe’as.” He said.
He took a sip of the tea. It wasn’t as warm or earthy as his parent’s tea, likely the lack of herbs his parents added. Still, it was warm and comforting.
Tears started running down his face.
“Cyare what’s wrong?” Luke asked.
Din set the cup down and sobbed. He couldn’t remember his parents, but he missed them. Badly. He wanted nothing more than to have them hold him in their arms one more time.
Luke hugged him.
“I’m sorry.” He murmured. “I know I’m not them, but maybe I can offer you some comfort this way?”
“I miss them, Luke. I miss my mummy and daddy.” Din said. “I know it’s childish to call them that, but that’s what I was still calling them when I lost them.”
“Shh,” Luke hushed. “It’s okay. I won’t judge.”
Din just held him closer and continued to sob. He couldn’t say everything about it, not yet. He wanted to, but he just wasn’t ready to talk about it anymore than he had.
“I’ll be here when you are, I promise.” Luke murmured.
Din sobbed harder. What had he done to deserve him? To deserve someone so patient and understanding?
“Is he gonna be ok?” Ollie asked.
“He’ll be fine Ollie.” Luke said. “Just, don’t get anymore dead things, that’s the last thing that’ll help.’
Din choked out a laugh as he continued to cry. He wouldn’t have the same attachment to some random lizard, but he appreciated what Luke was saying.
“Then how can I help?” Ollie asked.
“Just give him space, okay?” Luke asked. “If he asks for anything specific from you, you can help that way, okay?”
“Okay Luke!” Ollie said. “Feel better Din.”
Din nodded against Luke’s shoulder and gave a small wave as the girl scampered off. Din had a feeling she wasn’t going anywhere far, probably hanging around the hallway for when he was coherent enough to request something of her.
“It’s okay, let it out.” Luke soothed.
Din continued to sob for a good couple of minutes before they turned into sniffles and hiccups. Luke held him through it all, murmuring sweet nothings and comforts like Din had for him not too long ago. Today wasn’t off to a great start.
“I’m sorry Cyare, I thought it’d help.” Luke apologized.
“It did Luke.” Din murmured. “I just miss them.”
“You’re allowed to miss them Din.” Luke said. He paused and Din could feel something click in place in their bond. Like he’d just realized something. “Did you ever even grieve for them?” He asked.
Din stiffened. He’d been content to just forget all about them until now. He wasn’t sure he was quite ready to grieve and let go either. He knew he needed to, but something about it just didn’t feel right yet.
“Cyare.” Luke sighed.
“I know, I’m sorry.” Din said. “I just started feeling close to them, I don’t want to let them go yet. I’m not ready to say goodbye.”
