A mix to start and end your weekend!
Coming up tonight at 8 CDT...
I remember that stuffy room above the gym. We danced with a pregnant lady and bantered about things that ring strangely true today. I remember cramming in reading assignments in the hall and all of us arguing about the value of meat and potatoes. I miss those days and yet I don’t think I’d want to go back to them except in a dream. Or maybe all of it was a dream ...
Sometimes I wish I worked in an office where everyone spoke a foreign language so I could just absorb it like osmosis. But then I’d feel stupid when people asked me a question and just stared at them blankly.Â
BIG meeting for me this afternoon. I’m meeting with a team about publishing my novel series. I released the first one on Amazon without advertising and a novice cover (a photo I took on a trip to Italy). I’m totally unprepared (as I left all of my stuff at my home in Florida), but my biggest worry is that my father “forgets” to shower before the meeting! Ladies, PLEASE make sure you teach your children that two showers/baths a week does not mean CLEAN!Â
My latest (and perhaps greatest) inspirational mix. I’ll post the artists later after I prepare for my own meeting. I’m trying not to be nervous, but the positive thinking thing isn’t working for me yet!
I played my extremely intelligent niece in chess last year. I went in thinking, “OK, this will be humbling.” So I figured I’d play it cool and try to beat her, as she had actually taken lessons, but about four moves in I realized that I was already the baby stuck in the corner. So, no, Sybil, we know you’re the smartest! And while I may agree to play chess with you again in the future, just know that I know that my heart’s only in the things where I know I can win at the end. ;)
