Luke: What’s your blood type?
Deckard: How would I know?
Luke: How would you not?
Deckard: Who am I? Karl Landsteiner, discoverer of blood groups?
Luke: You don’t know your own blood type, but you know who discovered them?
Doylist analysis: Both JK Rowling and SE Hinton have the same issue with their writing, where they fail to fully separate THEIR heterosexual woman perspective from the perspective of their teenage boy protagonists, which is why both Harry Potter and Ponyboy Curtis spend an absurd amount of time commenting on how attractive all of the teenage boys around them are.
Watsonian analysis: Harry Potter and Ponyboy Curtis are both exceptionally bisexual and just havent realized it yet.
"You're not the only one with a family full of eccentrics," says the woman whose kids drove a tank down a highway, trashed Los Angeles, and tried to strangle Luke Hobbs with their thighs.
God, I'm gonna love Helen Mirren's cameo.
Two-bit: Flirting is my heritage.
Johnny: What does that mean?
Steve: His father was a slut too.
The Outsiders (1983)
I literally cannot stop thinking of this scene in Hobbs and Shaw because this shows that Luke has obviously studied the Shaws a lot!!
He uses the exact same way he tracked Owen down in FF6 to track Hattie down!
He’s literally comparing her intelligence up against Owen’s and is complimenting her!
And when Deckard comes barreling in later saying “That’s my sister!” that’s when all the pieces fall into place and Luke finally understands why Hattie used the same tactics as Owen. They’re brother and sister!
Person: Do you have a valentine?
Slytherin: No, I have anxiety
Tony: It's over. We won.
*Stephen and Peter gesture frantically to alert him to the aliens behind him*
Tony: No. We won. I'm not turning around and looking at it. We won.
Problem: Jason Statham has 2 decades on Vanessa Kirby and yet in a flashback in Hobbs & Shaw their characters are shown as being close in age.
Easy solution: Hattie is aging incredibly well & is much older than she appears
Funny solution: Deckard is actually in his mid thirties and is aging like pure shit because his life is hell and the stress is causing him to shrivel up like an apple doll
