(aka: I crave you in silence, and if you notice, I’ll die and also be thrilled)
・❥・Letting their hand hover near yours but never quite touching. Every atom screaming: please reach back.
・❥・ Saving the last bite of something, “just in case you wanted it.” (They always do. You always remember.)
・❥・ Fixing their backpack strap, even when it’s not falling.
・❥・ Offering your umbrella wordlessly. Standing a little closer than needed.
・❥・ Sitting beside them at a group thing before your brain catches up. Like it’s instinct.
・❥・ Casually mentioning something they said weeks ago. Something small. Something they didn’t think you’d remember.
・❥・ Carrying an extra pen, just in case they forget.
・❥・ Letting them rant. Letting them ramble. Letting them be.
・❥・ Your eyes finding theirs in a crowd before your brain says, look away.
・❥・ Brushing against them “by accident” and apologizing even though it lit your whole nervous system on fire.
people seem to love redemption arcs but absolutely despise a character doing something bad to earn the redemption. it’s exactly why i hate things like ‘well actually ____ didn’t deserve a redemption arc!!’ like bruh you do know someone has to do something bad before they redeem themselves right. like that’s the point of it.
The ANGST omg
OH JUST YOU WAIT FOR CHAPTER 11
(Side note: I LOVE PANDA EXPRESSS)
Rivals to Lovers Prompts
✧ They've hated each other for years, snarky comments, cold glares, constant one-upping. Then they get hit with the worst possible magical news: soulmates. Bound by fate. Linked by magic. Now they have to figure out what that even means without strangling each other in the process… or accidentally falling in love.
✧ They’re finalists in a prestigious contest...baking, sword fighting, reality TV, doesn’t matter. They’ve been rivals from day one. But late nights, shared exhaustion, and moments of unexpected honesty blur the lines. Suddenly the prize doesn't matter as much as the person they used to be fighting against.
✧ One position. Two candidates. Both brilliant, both stubborn, both dangerously attractive. They’re forced to work together for a final round of evaluation. Cue shared elevator rides, tension-filled meetings, and one night where the line between “I hate you” and “I want you” fully disappears.
✧ They're both hired to kill the same target, except they get in each other's way. Every. Damn. Time. Now they’re stuck either teaming up or getting each other killed. And somewhere between knives at throats and stolen hotel rooms, they start to realize they might have more in common than they thought.
✧ One's a brooding bounty hunter. The other's a cocky rogue. They've crossed paths before, never nicely. Now a shared goal (or curse?) forces them to travel together. The sniping is endless. The tension is unbearable. The night they finally kiss, they immediately go back to pretending they hate each other. (They don’t.)
✧They used to date. It ended badly. Now they’ve both built lives on opposite sides of the same industry/kingdom/city. And now? They’re in competition. Publicly. Pettily. But every insult still lands a little too sharp, and every win feels hollow without the other there to share it.
✧ By day, they’re coworkers or allies. By night, their masked enemies constantly clashing. Neither knows who the other really is, until the truth comes out mid-fight, and everything shifts. Now they have to reconcile who they thought they hated… with who they’re starting to love.
✧ They’re on opposite sides of a war. Or a political game. Or a rebellion. They don’t agree on anything, but they see each other. Late-night negotiations turn personal. Jabs turn intimate. And the realization that they might want the same future... just from different roads? That’s what wrecks them both.
✧ They agree to one temporary alliance for the sake of something bigger. Just one mission. One goal. But they argue about everything. They also accidentally save each other’s lives more than once. The final straw? One of them calls the other by their real name and means it.
✧ They’ve been pitted against each other since childhood. Both trained to be the best. Both told they’re the rightful heir. But as the final trial looms, they begin to question everything, including their hatred. When one of them says, “If I win, I’ll choose you,” the world tilts a little.
@toffuf part 2!! (Hoping I did this tagging thing right)
Knowhere. 4 days after the abduction of Kevin Bacon.
“You knew.”
“What?”
“You knew the whole time, Nebula.” Mantis paused, deep in thought. Then finally, all those questions bubbled to the surface and formed one word. “How?”
Nebula was getting annoyed. “Again, knew what? I don't read minds, bug.”
“That Ego is my father.”
“Was,” Nebula corrected. Mantis flinched. Her antennae flickered a bit.
“I told you yesterday,” Mantis continued. “But I could sense…guilt. Remorse. Nervousness. You already knew.”
Nebula stiffened. “It wasn't hard to guess. Ego didn't have a single other being living on his planet. He murdered all of his previous children and their mothers, makes sense he'd spare the most useful one.”
Mantis's eyes widened for a moment. “Yes, that was why he wanted to find Peter.”
“I'm not talking about Peter, grasshopper.”
“It's Mantis.”
“Let's just say that we've got one thing in common.”
“What is that?”
Something resembling a smile twitched on Nebula's lips. “We both had total dicks for fathers.”

Things Your Character Secretly Fears (But Won’t Admit It)
(Even if they act like they’ve got it together or especially if they do.)
Being truly known (because what if they’re not enough?)
Being truly loved (because what if they’re not enough... again?)
Being forgotten.
Letting people down, and knowing they did.
Becoming their parents.
Needing help.
Asking for it.
Getting what they want, and hating it.
Being vulnerable and not being met there.
Losing control in front of others.
Letting someone close, only to be abandoned.
Never finding their purpose.
Success (because now they have something to lose).
Hurting someone they care about.
Saying something they can’t take back.
Feeling too much, and not being able to stop.
That they peaked too early.
That they’re not the main character in their own life.
Trusting someone and getting burned for it.
That deep down, they are the villain in someone else's story.
reblog if you have skilled writer friends and you're damn proud of them

🌊Woman & Sealskin🌊
I can finally unveil this personal project! My comic version of chapter one of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, which I finally managed to get to shortly after SOTR came out. This was a unique project for me that I've been working on, on and off, for the past year or so. Lots and lots of fun, although I did mess up in some parts (typesetting :') ) and the limited color pallette was a unique challenge. Rest of the chapter under the cut! Hope you enjoy :)
@ellipsis-dotdotdot Matangi taking all the bats after divorcing Maui-
notice how it's "with mama" and not "with papa". even in a fake cutesy tumblr scenario, she took the fucking kids. <- what I imagine i'd be posting as a divorced dad on tumblr
(How your character defends their soft core and what could shatter it) Because protection becomes prison real fast.
✶ Sarcasm as armor. (Break it with someone who laughs gently, not mockingly.) ✶ Hyper-independence. (Break it with someone who shows up even when they’re told not to.) ✶ Stoicism. (Break it with a safe space to fall apart.) ✶ Flirting to avoid intimacy. (Break it with real vulnerability they didn’t see coming.) ✶ Ghosting everyone. (Break it with someone who won’t take silence as an answer.) ✶ Lying for convenience. (Break it with someone who sees through them but stays anyway.) ✶ Avoiding touch. (Break it with accidental, gentle contact that feels like home.) ✶ Oversharing meaningless things to hide real depth. (Break it with someone who asks the second question.) ✶ Overworking. (Break it with forced stillness and the terrifying sound of their own thoughts.) ✶ Pretending not to care. (Break it with a loss they can’t fake their way through.) ✶ Avoiding mirrors. (Break it with a quiet compliment that hits too hard.) ✶ Turning every conversation into a joke. (Break it with someone who doesn’t laugh.) ✶ Being everyone’s helper. (Break it when someone asks what they need, and waits for an answer.) ✶ Constantly saying “I’m fine.” (Break it when they finally scream that they’re not.) ✶ Running. Always running. (Break it with someone who doesn’t chase, but doesn’t leave, either.) ✶ Intellectualizing every feeling. (Break it with raw, messy emotion they can’t logic away.) ✶ Trying to be the strong one. (Break it when someone sees the weight they’re carrying, and offers to help.) ✶ Hiding behind success. (Break it when they succeed and still feel empty.) ✶ Avoiding conflict at all costs. (Break it when silence causes more pain than the truth.) ✶ Focusing on everyone else’s healing but their own. (Break it when they hit emotional burnout.)

you're now this mythical creature, congrats!
in another life, she was auntie maysilee
as somebody with both songs on one playlist, yes actually!
you ever think about how the piña colada song and kate bush's babooshka are technically songs about the same topic but with incredibly different tones
