daisuke and anya aren't shown interacting much. I think that's for a reason.
with daisuke being practically the embodiment of hope and innocence and naivety on the ship, it makes sense for anya not to interact with daisuke - or atleast be shown interacting with daisuke, especially from the perspective of jimmy. the one time that i can remember anya speaking of daisuke, is when speaking to curly about daisuke's psych eval and how daisuke says that he's enjoying his time on the ship, with anya then going "should i be worried?". anya, especially after the ship crashes, is always a foot out - always standing on the edge, ready to jump. she keeps the other pain meds in that locker hidden for as long as she can so she can have a way out - a way to control her own fate. she's given up on hoping. at first glance, you may assume the most hopeless character is swansea, with him ending his sobriety and falling back into his addiction, verbally stating that there is no hope for the crew any more - but swansea holds onto daisuke despite it all. he hopes. he dreams. maybe not for himself, but for daisuke and anya. swansea has also been a dreamer, even when he was in the midst of his addiction - he WANTED. but anya is never really hoping. she's just kind of there. and who can blame her? she's stuck in close quarters with her abuser, in a ship that's falling apart, 5 months pregnant with a child she never wanted. who can blame her for not hoping for better. she used to. she did, she had hoped when she went to curly about what jimmy did, but that hope was crushed when curly did nothing. he failed her. so she doesn't hope. she can't stand to - not any more. but for a long time she can't stand to give in either. not until she's pushed into it and locks herself into a room with curly - in the very room curly had dictated as having a lock for 'safety' concerns. and while she does this, daisuke - hope - is trying to get in and help her. banging at the door, desperately trying to get in to anya, but then jimmy takes daisuke away, and hope leaves, and anya kills herself as her hope is gone, once again taken away by jimmy. there's also the fact that daisuke is practically the 'child' of the group. the innocent and naive. and children are commonly seen as the 'hope'. the 'change'. the 'proof of something better to come'. and then you think of anya's pregnancy and how that happened. and how when she looked at daisuke and saw how hopeful and bright and young he was, all she was reminded of was the child inside of her, and then reminded of jimmy. of course she wouldn't wanna be around daisuke as much. it was too close. he was too close.
Mouthwashing:
If you couldn’t tell I adore this game, the premise and theme of the game is handled so well, the characters are great and there is so much ‘show don’t tell’ in this game that sparks so much conversation
American McGee’s Alice:
I know Madness Returns is the more popular Alice game due to it being more accessible at the time but please, PLEASE watch a playthrough or give McGee’s Alice a chance. While the gameplay is rough and bumby the atmosphere, THE ATMOSPHERE CHEFS KISS. I love how sharp, angular and jagged everything, wonderland is twisted and macabre the music is THE MUSIC MAGNIFICENT!
Alisa:
A fairly recent horror game that has their own special place in my heart. While the story is confusing and doesn’t make sense, to be fair it could just be part of the game’s charm and will probably be fleshed out in the sequel. Alisa is such a cute and creepy little game that takes me back to my childhood of first discovering horror games on the PS1. The characters are fun, the love is oozing from the game and the music makes you feel like you’re in a toy box filled nightmare.
Haunting Ground:
I’ll get out of the way that I am extremely biased towards Haunting Ground and will get territorial of this game. This is my comfort game, it’s been with me for my lowest points in life and highest points of life. Belli Castle is my second home. I’ll be here all day rambling nonsense about this game so let’s just move to the next one!
Silent Hill 3
This here is a game to play when you want to relive your teenage angsty years. Heather is such a lovable character as we go through her average day to a not so average revenge plot. I’ll go ahead and add (beg) to please check out Silent Hill 1 and Shattered Memories because Harry Mason is just as deserving of attention as his blonde who has more fun daughter.
Clock Tower
The original Clock Tower is one of my gateways into the realm of survival horror, it’s how I discovered Haunting Ground, Siren, and many other horror gems. While I unfortunately haven’t played Rewind I can still praise the classic and its series. I am a sucker for horror games that allow you use brains over brawn and allow the character to shine through their wits and the Clock Tower games do just that!
Kuon
This eerie gem pulls you in right away just with the title screen, the soft lullaby that greets you has stuck with me years after I have played the game and it still unsettles me. Although the game can be a tad slow since the game recommends you to walk not run I do think it adds to the creepiness because you don’t want to risk alerting enemies. I love how you can play the game from multiple perspective as well! Though this is a game if you can play it versus watching a playthrough, I’d recommend that! Watching a no commentary playthrough of this game is more of a sleep aid unfortunately…but playing it and forcing yourself to continue the journey, very spooky, very creepy, especially in the dark.

installing the game is incredibly easy even for the least computer-savvy people.
no matter your PC specs, you can play it. the game was designed to run on 2002 hardware. there is a 99% chance the game will run on your build.
the original Silent Hill 2 is abandonware, so you need not worry about the ethics of piracy.
after you install the game, be sure to patch it to turn it into the Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition.
the Enhanced Edition will let it run on modern builds and vastly improve the framerate and graphics.
you don't need to have any prior knowledge of computers to patch the game. follow the very easy instructions on the website. the game will essentially patch itself.
Link to the Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition.
i figure it's about time i mention that sho is a chunnibyou to me

Do you ever see a post of someone claiming to be the biggest fan of something but then spread the biggest misconception or topic on said media they’re a fan of, it’s sometimes baffling where you stare at the post and wonder “where did this come from?” “Did we play/read/watch the same thing?”
「Now I'll go bonkers looking for it. Cheers.」
