I am not normal about them at all
An icewing rainwing hybrid, so sleek and shiny!
Do you possibly like Wings of Fire? And pirates??
Yes? Then I think it would be in your best interest to keep reading.
My friend, I would very much like to tel you about my silly little WoF story called The Fools Gold Pirates.
There are 10 main characters that make up the crew.
Its mainly about them going on silly adventures to retrieve these ancient artifacts, or keys, and uncovering the secrets of Pterygota archipelago, which is where this story takes place.
At this point I’m probably just going to make silly posts about them, but if this gets popular enough I might end up writing chapters for it.
If you have any questions regarding the story or the characters I will gladly answer them!
For requests, could you draw Dreamcatcher please? Thank you! :D Art by otiksimr!

Absolutely! Queued on up :]
Spectacular art by the way!! Props to otiksimr!
Edit: DONE!!
Bug!!
Also. Obsessed with the missed opportunity of the hives sociology and the culture shock the pyharrians wouldve experienced.
What if, like bees, they had a mostly female population? And only a few could possibly have kids? Or even smaller stuff like what if dragonets were raised communally (even if in a militaristic fashion.) What if they didn't have individual hunters, but anything to do with honey at all? Just thoughts :]
hivewing design, now with approximately 400% more bug
*adds it to the pile*
In my headcanon of WoF, IceWings are large, albatross-like dragons. They are adorned with many long, delicate spikes that often resemble icicles. The number of spikes will vary depending on the individual dragon, but typically healthier IceWings will have more than unhealthy IceWings.
IceWings are one of the few dragons with sexual dimorphism, that being the shape of their skulls. While all IceWings have a unique, angular snout that makes a sharp turn where their upper jaw meets their lower jaw, the snout is often more exaggerated in male IceWings. (The adult IceWing pictured above is a somewhat young male.)
IceWings have two sets of teeth, an outer set and an inner set. The outer set of teeth rests on top of their lips, attached to the upper jaw. These teeth are incredibly strong and are designed for gripping onto slippery prey, like fish. When IceWings hatch, they are only born with two of these outer teeth. As they grow older, they will gradually gain more outer teeth, forming an almost zipper-like pattern across their mouth.
IceWings have extremely long wings, designed for catching ocean air currents and soaring at sea for long periods of time, like albatross birds do. They can spend upwards of a month at sea without landing, but are less capable flying for this length of time across land; the average IceWing can only fly for about 4 hours over land, if there are no air currents to carry them.
Unlike other dragon tribes, IceWings have a much lower requirement for oxygen, and a higher tolerance for low air pressure. Thanks to this, they have the advantage of being able to reach astonishing heights without any trouble breathing. IceWings tend to drop down on other dragons from the sky, since the rest of the tribes are limited to lower altitudes to save their breath.
Thanks to this lower oxygen requirement as well, IceWings are exceptional at ambush and feigning death on the battlefield, with their ability to take shallow, unnoticeable breaths with no struggle. This is also what allows them to take underwater routes into enemy territory, if need be.
This innate lack of need for a typical amount of breathing makes them appear uncanny to other tribes. They are near perfectly still in most calm situations, and this tends to freak other dragons out.
Peril from Wings of Fire!
The LORE!! incredible
Designing some unique individuals based off my own ref.
Morning Star
Tribe: Icewings
Pattern: Geode
Scales: *Frozen (When the ice texture that is normally on just the horns and claws travel to other areas of the body. Harder and heavier than standard scales and fluff.
Ice is stained to look like the blood of the other tribes.
“Fur”: Standard/ Masculine
Extra:
Morning Star was one of the top warriors during a time when the Icewings had a ruling king. A massive iceberg of a dragon the others would call her *queen-blooded and anticipated that she might aim to take the throne for herself. She had the attitude for it, she was mean-mouthed and made herself clear that she didn’t think a king should lead them. There was nothing in her way besides the gentle-natured king and his unhatched niece. However, the violence never came or maybe it was avoided? Seemingly overnight she went from planning a coup to being in the king’s back pocket. Close enough to him that she might as well have been the queen anyway, but nothing came of it. The niece would take her rightful place as queen with the old king and Morning Star being her right and left wings.
*Frozen scales are rare, more so than iced spines.
*Queen-blooded can refer to an individual that is unusually large and strong.
Just gonna really quickly challenge all the artists that follow my blog (or just see this in general) to pick out an animal and draw it as a wof dragon. Like draw the dragon as funky as you can- make a real complex hybrid- whatever just make it as similar to that animal as possible.
Anyways, I was not expecting to get so many recommendations. Thank you though if you did send me one!
18, fem thing the cannon is Getting Disrespected gang quickly turning into a Wof blog. This is my pile of shiny knickknacks. I reblog what i like and post what i think, make, or like! Thanks for tagging along!
