Lucy and the Ghoul really are Beauty and the Beast, huh? A handsome man who once lived in luxury is cursed to live as a hideous creature? Check. A beautiful curious woman who is warned not to be deceived by appearances? Check. Oh, and do you remember why Beauty left her small village, ventured into the dangerous forest and ended up in the Beast's castle? She had to find her dad.
It's such a modern spin on the trope. Because the Ghoul doesn't welcome her lavishly with food on the table and clothes in the closet. No, he puts her to the test. And yet she doesn't yield. If anything, her humanity shines through and illuminates his in turn.

btw for those of you who love laios for his autism rep you should watch scavengers reign. there's another character in there that most autistic people instantly clock as autistic and i love him. also the show is going to get canceled if more people don't watch it so PLEASE
How does this not have more views?! The writing, the characters, the animation, the voice acting- ALL SUPERB! Please check this out and share this!
HONESTLY!!
Glad someone brought it up. I don't think I've related to a female character more than her (in both good and bad ways).
She's amazingly written, beautifully flawed- and actually flawed not just quirks. She does some pretty ethically gray things and it's great to see her still be likable while doing those things.
She went through amazing growth throughout the show and it's genuinely criminal we didn't get more of her, and the rest of the characters.
Can we talk abt how this is literally peak female character design?
The prominant eyebags. The hooked nose. The messy hair. Thick eyebrows. She's allowed to be messy and shabby and still desirable.
Not to mention she is The character of all time. She's got it all. She's an evil genius. Both a Failgirl and a Girlboss. Her father is a former CEO of the shadow government where she works. Her mother wrote a book that was a thinly veiled way to throw shade at her ex and then married herself. She's autistic. She uses 13-in-one shampoo.
