The new rubber bracelets from Hot Topic feature a “Crystal Gems” set in a rainbow. I’m modeling it here with some shots of my other bracelet collections, attempting to squeeze all of them on even though I do not have enough arm for the purpose. Some people just want to watch the world burn.

Obviously there are a couple little issues with the new bracelets:

To get the rainbow, they had to assign someone who wasn’t yellow to the yellow stripe, so Pearl was the closest they could get. But what were they gonna do, leave Pearl out and put Topaz on it?

It’s referred to on Hot Topic’s site as “STEVEN UNIVERSE CRYSTAL GEMS RUBBER BRACELET SET.” Jasper would at this time resent being included in a Crystal Gems collection.

Obviously no one has their latest look, but Garnet’s is her early Season 1 outfit! Amethyst is as usual a few reformations ago. It’ll be neat if and when they update the stock art they’re putting on merch and release some stuff with the new outfits on them, though I’m honestly happy with any version of them. :)

All right y’all, now that I’ve had some time to come down from a cloud at the announcement about the contributors to the movie, I’m a little nervous we’re jumping to conclusions about Opal.

So the first list is for songs/music, and the second list is for voice cast. I would still be thrilled to hear an Aimee Mann song in the soundtrack! But since Aimee is mentioned in the music list but not in the character list, I’m worried this is us jumping to conclusions, though I hope that’s not true because I want Opal.

Aimee is one of Rebecca’s biggest musical influences and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she was willing to contribute a song for the album. I’m just thinking about this discrepancy between the music list and the “performances” list (which is evidently a partial list of which characters are appearing and who they’re playing). If they’re willing to show their hand and reveal that Aimee is in the musical collaborators list, why not also tell us she’s doing Opal if she is? But that’s not listed here.

I hope we get Opal and I’m not trying to be a naysayer but I worry that people will go in assuming Opal as a character appearance and singing a song is a given, and no matter how great the movie ends up being, I could see people being hugely disappointed in not receiving this since people are so invested in Opal and might go in expecting it. So please, until we get more info that proves me wrong, keep this in mind about the information they’ve given us and what it means! I would be really disappointed if people acted like we were lied to when this is actually the format they gave us the info in and no one is assuming any of the other musicians (except Estelle) will be giving us an in-character song.
