Love. Adoration. Lust. For Jeon Jungkook, his entire life, they had been just words, nothing more â after all, these were just concepts made by society, what if people had not known about the concept of love? Would they still try to find it? Would they still be willing to work for it? Then, you came into his life, and gave meaning to those words.
âWelcome to the annual football championship between Seoul Nation University and Sungkyunkwan University 2020!â
âBreak his jaw!â Jungkook heard the other team chant, while looking at him. He just scoffed while adjusting his gloves, as if.
âReally? Think you can do it? Go ahead and try,â Jungkook mocked them across the field, his tongue poking against his left cheek.
Jungkook was never set out for failure, it was never allowed in his life â because he knew for a fact that his father would have his throat if he didnât turn out to be the best of the best.
At age five, he had a strict workout regime and had less than 10 percent body fat, maintained till present date. He had also learnt that he would rather be loved than feared, he hated the look in the eyes of his classmates when he accidentally punched his seatmate, Byung-chul. Just because he had taken his red crayon without asking. Now, no one would sit next to him at lunch. He told himself that he didnât mind it, he didnât need stupid friends to be happy, but he couldnât help but cry at night because no one wanted to play on the see-saw with him. He knew if he asked them, they would have no choice other than to say yes, after all, they didnât want to end up like Byung-chul, hospitalized, with a broken arm. But whatâs the use, if they donât actually want to be with him?
Age seven, he had landed his first punch on his butler when he saw him abuse his dog. He didnât know what to tell to his therapist, how could he explain that all he saw was red when he saw Yeontan being thrown out of the room? How could he explain that he had no control over his body? How could he explain that he couldnât control the beast in him that had pounced over the man?
A/N: basically kook is a med professor and yn is a medical college student lol đłđ€ kook has some anger management issues sighghghghgh, anyways might play around and turn this into a 10k word long fic and post it in like 2 dayzzzz, later losers (jk love u)

Summary: She's the quiet one, she's the loud one, he's her tormentor, he's her problem at school. He might be obsessed with her.
Word count: 7.4k
Since it was requested and liked, I decided to make a story with almost the same premise, excluding the one-shot material, it's the full package. There's more to come. If you want;)
The more she tries to avoid it, the harder it gets. It's a bittersweet truth.
Subjected to his mean words retained a cynical outcome on her conviction, always glaring at her, smiling at her misery, touching her with intent to hurt, tossing paper balls at her, sometimes pulling her hair If she ever had the tragic coincidence sitting in front of him. Whenever they shared eye contact, she feels as though he is wordlessly disparaging her with his blood-red eyes. For the most part, however, it wasn't physical.
Today, he seemed more competitive.
Sitting in the far back with the other girls, separated by gender, she observes the way her blonde bully perfects his task, hearing her male classmates cheer at the sight, for anything minor or major, she had gotten adjusted. Her teacher returned, a whistleblower hanging from the collar, a small stick he likes to use at his grasp.
The girls beside her quietly laughed, whispering something into each other's ears, some lack shame she presumes.
They tapped her shoulder and gently uttered 'the boys told us to give you this message, Katsuki likes your black underwear.' She ceased, side-eyed her giggling classmate, then pressed her lips together, the humiliation sweeping up her body, she nervously looks back at their teacher, attempting to disregard the dreadful beats of her heart. Thoughts ran rampant in her affected mind, she clenches her fist around her wrist, swallowed her unease when the teacher noticed her.
"Let's see how much you've all improved since the last time, we'll be doing a race test, then throwball test, finally, strength test." He sternly spoke, glancing at his students, some appearing excited, others apprehensive.
"First row, you are up."
The words dulled themselves, the noisy cheers and girls talking tuning out, she just couldn't help but overthink, the most consistent thought being, 'when- how did he see it?' She has been so meticulous in evading him, no boys were allowed in the changing rooms unless someone beguiles, leaked information to disrespect her. It wouldn't be uncharacteristic of her classmates. She briefly looked at the other side, watching the blonde focus on the current race, however, slowly looked her way and smirked, as if he was anticipating her reaction.
She was the one to break away the instant their gaze met, steadily inhaling while she bit on her lips, she attempts to concentrate, hopefully, neglect her pressing notions for a short while, so she doesn't end up butchering her physical test.
"Ok! The last row, you are up!" She rose, jogging behind the girls to catch up, each race consisted of five students, she was up with the gossiping girls and two mean girls who probably knew what colour of underwear she was wearing now. She gulps, slowly taking her place in between them, failing to dismiss the pessimistic feelings, she got in her position, her heartbeat accelerating, she feels like she isn't in the moment when the whistle sounds out and the five of them galloped.
The applause was loud in her ears, shouts and raving she heard of her that managed to bother her. She kept up her pace, in the lead before the black-haired classmate caught up, then she listens to her say. "You suck, black underwear." She teased, quickly running forwards, she grimaced, using her last bit of energy to force herself to move hastily. As they neared the finish line, she sprinted right behind her, both of them now in the same place. It could be a tie if they kept up. She gave her nasty glare, putting all her strength and eventually left the girl behind, securing herself the first place.
She had never won the golden opportunity before, so it came as a pleasant surprise when her teacher cheered and said, "Woah! That's a big improvement, you had come last place, right?" He asked, she nodded, breathing heavily. He patted her and sent them away, then she saw, the shocking look in the girl's grey eyes. Hatred.
"She came first place, okay how did that happen?" She heard them mutter amongst themselves, staring at her as if she had grown another head.
"She must have cheated."
She sat down, pulling her blue water bottle out only to see it empty. Someone... Drank it? She knew exactly who it was. She groaned, thirsty but toiled to keep her temper in check, she leaned back, resting her trembling legs as the adrenaline fades off. Her throat itching for some water.
Wiping the sweat off her eyebrows, exhausted from just the first test, she inspected the boy's competition around the ground, a certain green-haired boy seizing her attention, in the last place, but still pushing with all his might. Small-ish, lean, short, and quirkless, a distant friend from childhood, he's another victim of her bully, known as deku, while she was referred to as loopy, in short, crazy.
"Ok! Last team! You are up."
It was katsuki's turn, she could heed the boy's gaiety already, the blonde pushed past the depleted greenette who didn't say anything and walked back to his seat, even her female classmates smiled, silently interested in seeing him.
"On your marks, get, set, go!!"
The five boys were off, and her bully quickly obtained the lead, the four others wanting to get the first place but Katsuki had already travelled a long distance and they wouldn't reach in time. He was going to win from the very beginning.
The crowd lauded, flaring the guy's ego, he gave a big restrained smile, moving back to his place, with a huge swell of arrogance, settling down in the middle of the restless boys, still celebrating their bets.
"Now then we are done with the racing test, we can go onto the next game, throwball. You'll be divided into two teams, consisting of both boys and girls, gather round, I'll team you up." Everyone got up, thrilled for the match-up, she wasn't too pleased about it, lazily hauling herself as she blended into the mob, observing her teacher evaluate his choice and gripingly put them into wrong teams.
"Team A, Miyamura, shin, Makoto, lolly, rudo, midoriya..." Then he carried on, she didn't get picked in that team, and neither, her bully, she was about to get teamed up with him, wasn't she? This day couldn't get any worse.
"Team B, Bakugo, Rosie, Haru, Asahi, lei, Aiko, Aoi..." Then his wrinkled eyes landed on her, she knew she was doomed.
"And L/n! Ok, we are good to go!"
It had been such an awful experience discussing strategy and arrangement with her bully, he straight up didn't want her in his team, but begrudgingly decided to have her beside him in the middle. She knew she was to be horrible at this, and he was going to hate her more now since he's so obsessed with winning, with victory.
The match began, most of the throws ended up on the blonde's side, and whenever it did head towards her, he would catch it instead, one time, he even hit her on the cheek with his elbow when he caught the ball, it hurt, she started to dislike him even more.
The fierce competition was ongoing, she had thrown a grand total of two times, miraculously, he deliberately plucks her out of place when she had to receive the brown orb, she ended up on her butt at least thrice, and they were in the lead, a few points and it will be over.
Relief had flooded her senses upon thinking the finale, she was expending less awareness when Katsuki yelled her name, and she was met with the ball to the face, disorienting her vision, she stumbled back, gripping her throbbing nose and face, she looked down at her palms and found blood, the dark red liquid slowly drips down her lips, she swallowed, looking at her teacher who rushed towards her before taking her off the field. Everyone stood still, silence engulfing their once clamorous contest.
She suffered a minor nose bleed, got cotton stuffed in her nostril, and had an awkward atmosphere upon entering the classroom, she was expecting someone to tease but none were sneered her way and the rest of the classes went on normally. She hadn't gotten any 'are you okay' either, she doesn't know if she preferred it or not.
Her P.E teacher nearly had a heart attack, one of his statements stuck with her, 'you are so delicate, you need to get strong.' He meant it with good intentions, she had heard that expression from her parents as well. Her bully hadn't backed off from making her day a little less bad by stealing her notes for the upcoming class. If she was caught not possessing her notebook, she's bound to get lectured and punished.
She hated him.
After class, she confronted him.
"Can you give me back my notes?" She vehemently spoke, arms crossed, one leg stuck out, tapping against the floor impatiently.
"Oh, you look ugly with those in your nose." He said, faking an exaggerated disgusted facade.
"Return it back or else..."
He turned towards her, fully facing her with a tough look in his eyes, she returned the gesture, pinching her lips with the way he stood with pride.
"What are you going to do? Report me?" He taunted, leaning inwards, challenging her with a glare.
"Yes, this time to the principal."
He laughed, grumbling, "just for a book?" He tsked, continuing, "you are pathetic."
"No, for everything you've done." She spits back, narrowing her eyes at him.
"Oh! Is that so? What evidence have you got against me? Deku? He won't get in a word, he's a loser, and you are far worse than him." He retorted.
"The principal won't have a reason to deny if I bring my parents into the picture, plus you still have my notebook with you, you haven't returned so it should be proof enough." She responded, not missing the way his lips twitched, his eyes hardening.
"Hey, dude! Why are you keeping us waiting for so long?" His friends shouted from the front of the class, halting at the sight of their friend and his victim, "you want us to leave without you?" They smugly smiled, elbowing each other, then slowly walking out, leaving the both of them to themselves.
"If you say anything to anyone, I'm going to make your life a living hell." He threatened, grabbing her collar and propelling her towards him. "You don't want that, do you?" He ceased for a moment, grinning wide as if he had gotten a brilliant idea, he resumed, "if you want me to stop, maybe we could do a trade."
"No thanks, I know how you are, it's probably not in my interest." She bravely muttered, it irked him, he shoved her away, the smile on his face fading away, "you don't know when to give up, do you?"
He grimaces, shifting back to get his backpack, plopping it on his shoulder, he stared at her maliciously and said.
"If you want your notebook, you gotta have something in return for me."
With that, he left.
She strutted there for a short while, reflecting on her alternatives because no matter what, he somehow manages to outsmart her. Every time.
When her tears were more than her words, her courage less than that of her quirk. She met her bully, with blonde hair, ruddy eyes, and an enlarged ego that seemed to increase tenfold once applause was sent it's way, it was a one-time thing, she was just going to play along with boys her age, perhaps younger since she had no one else, and while most of them were against it, a sweet green-haired boy insisted, holding her hand and bringing her with him.
It was discouraging to be thereafter the severe disagreement, however, she still followed, she was the only girl with four to five chaps.
That day, was the first and last time she was ever going to reside in that group.
They were far rowdier and carefree than her, proudly walking in the street, she and the other boy trailing behind them, and then they stepped inside a convenience store, she had watched them buy stuff, all might items, she observed their smiles upon tearing it open, right outside the shop, grinning in delight.
The blonde kid was far happier than any one of them, denying his now treasured object any spying eyes, protecting it and retrieving it inside his pocket. She felt out of place, for some reason.
Then, they played hero and villain, like any other kid she's seen, she had to be the one rescued, and she oddly delighted that. The green-haired boy was a villain, while the blonde one was a hero, she was the civilian who needed saving. It was a fun pastime, her heart was beating fast, watching the two quarrel, until the greenette got harshly pushed down. She got up and asked him if he was okay, it did not please the others.
"You are supposed to ask me if I'm okay, not him!" The blonde sneered at her, she frowned, lowering her gaze, muttering, "was I supposed to? But you weren't hurt." She innocently replied, "even villains are humans like us, they get hurt too, you know."
"Do you have a crush on deku or something? Because you sound stupid." He argued, she shared brief eye contact with the kid, a sad expression now on her small face.
She doesn't know what to say.
"I think I like him more." She hesitantly answered, "you don't know how a hero should act, they are never mean to anyone."
It bothered him.
Then came a hard shove.
That was what she recalled, seeing the all might plushie at the store, safely tugged at the corner, almost gone, the shop had a handful of customers at this time, nowadays, finding hero merch was common, and it got a lot of attention and profit. All might has never been her favourite, not after her mind associated that bitter memory with meeting her bully, then the green-haired boy, Deku, she never got herself to know him, maybe she was upset, angry with how things flipped upside down. Or she just resented him for suffering around those mean kids, it made her sad thinking about him, two of kacchan's victims.
"Oh! um..." she faced the timid voice, finding her greenette classmate standing before her, shying away from direct eye content, she turned away, picking the item from the toy section and prepared to depart, "you're taking that...?" inquired the boy, particularly no feelings stuck out to her, she felt nothing towards him, neutral, leaning a little towards dislike from time to time.
"Yes, did you want it?" she asked, ready to hand it to him, but he hastily disagreed, "n-no! It's fine! I've never seen you here, buying all might stuff..." he awkwardly replied, pressing his lips into a thin line. "I usually don't but because of someone, I have to," she responded.
His eyes light up, and he flashes her a tiny smile, "is it a gift?"
She quickly shook her head, furrowing her eyebrows and narrowing her eyes at the image of having her bully as a kind of friend, "no, I just gotta get it for my notebook." he questioned her with a puzzled look, "as an accessory?" she grinned, faking enthusiasm. She couldn't deal with any queries right now. She tries to leave, but is stopped again, by a curious boy who asked, "are you and kacchan... in a relationship?" she quickly answered, in a bitter tone.
"No." she gave him a brief glance and took off.
'He calls me loopy for a reason, perhaps he is right.'
The next morning, she approached him, demanded her belonging, and got back a crude response, asking for a little something, she had gotten a plushie but, would he even want it? A grown boy who was a bully would want something soft that she went out of her way to get, with her pocket money, to her liking, he wouldn't, a hardened guy like him can't appreciate it.
"Unless you give me something precious of yours, I won't give it back." he arrogantly declared, further irking her, her eyes sting, her throat tightened, and the urge to slap him amplified.
"I don't get it, what do you want?" she mumbled, irritated. As if she would ever willingly hand him her most treasured item with ease.
"Hmm, preferably something black." he shrugged. He knew that she knew what he was talking about, but she acted obliviously. "A mask?"
He moved forward, and softly whispered, "Black underwear loopy, remember that?"
She immediately pushed him back, ignoring his wicked laugh, and sat down, recoiling from stress and anger, glaring at his taunting form, how long can she go without her notes.?
At lunch break, she eagerly requested some of her classmates to lend her their book but, nobody was ready to hand it off and hope for the best, he seriously threatened them not to give her any help?
At last, she stopped in front of her final choice, Deku.
She stopped him as the entire class emptied, even their bully, so it was just the two of them, alone, together, as victims. She halts at his desk, gulping down her concerns.
"Can you lend me your science notebook, I promise I'll return it as soon as possible." she spoke pleadingly, he nervously stared at her, "um..." without hearing his answer, she slouched, speaking a little louder, "don't tell me Katsuki threatened you too?" he bowed his head down, looking up regretfully, confirming, "kacchan's been telling everyone not to help you with anything, but..." he finished, voice latched with sorrow. Their gaze connected, she fought the urge to tear her eyes away from him.
"Is that why you were getting him that plushie...?"
She momentarily ceased, thinking it through, then gently uttered.
"I wasn't thinking about it, I just bought it impulsively. Besides, not that he will return my notes either way, even if I gave it to him before he laughed." she honestly replied, correcting her posture and stepping back. Now aware, even he might not be able to aid her.
"But- you got it for him..." he softly mumbled to himself, lowering his eyes to his plain neat desk, hands gripped in his laps, blinking at his held fist.
"I don't get it, why are you so upset about it?" she mused, observing his expression alter and diffuse. "I-I'm not! I promise, just, do you regret meeting me?" he suddenly surprised her with the query, she watched him shift nervously in his seat, avoiding her eyes like it meant something horrible, "no, I don't. Actually, I don't think I've made amends with you."
He tearfully glanced at her face, wanting her to carry on but she turned her face from him and clutched the straps of her bag in her fingers, saying one last thing before cutting her short conversation with him, "it's okay if you don't wanna help, no problem, I'll see you tomorrow."
She leaves. The sting of guilt doesn't take long to invite itself in.

The school campus is brimming with students, tall, short and alike, striding their merry way home, she was one of them, gaze cast down, attending to the dirt crushing underneath her school shoes, it was breezy for a moment and then it wasn't, the light slowly veering orange. A heavy arm suddenly grabs her neck from behind, prompting her to avert her gaze to the familiar person holding her waterway in a tight squeeze.
"You're coming out rather late, what were you doing with deku?" The grumpy raspy voice of her tormentor sounded near her ear, she shoot him a scowl, about to plop his arm back to his side, however, he resettled his grasp and further leaned over to her cheeks.
"You could have my notes if you are so desperate." He mocked, snickering at her miserable endeavour.
"Yeah sure, why don't you just give me my notebook back." She acknowledged.
"What if I burned it and threw it away, you still want it back?" He muttered, drawing closer to her, his arm now slithering to her waist, just low enough, clasping her hipbone, perking up at her startled reaction.
Without saying anything, she ripped off his hand, removed it from her body and jabbed it to his left side, rejecting his terrorizing grimace, quickly stepping away from his reach, ambling towards the entrance.
"If you are not going to tell me then I'm going to ruin it, and I won't give you mine either, not like anyone else is going to entrust their belongings to you." He shouted, knowing where to pull her strings.
Even though she wouldn't admit it, she needed it before tomorrow.
She thinks for a quick duration, examining for any tell-tale signs of dishonesty or animosity, she forced herself to oblige, she couldn't get reprimanded for something fixable. Hesitantly, she speaks up.
"Fine." She swiftly made her way towards him, defensively folding her arms near her chest and disapprovingly staring at his arrogant face.
"What's your deal with that nerd?"
"I asked him if he would give me his notes, that's all, plus we met at a shop yesterday, nothing happened, I was just looking for something to buy." She responds.
He doubtingly peers, soaking in the slightest shift in her movement, her face, and his gut told him she wasn't lying right under his nose, he hums, pulling his bag off his shoulder, he quickly takes his book out, hands it to her, not before lifting out her reach.
"You better not damage it, or pour any drop of water, juice, anything, think you can do that?" He boasts, chancing to get an 'aye' out of her lips. She frigidly nods, lips tightened.
He smiles, content with his plan.
"Good. You better come to school tomorrow, don't even try to get me into trouble for getting absent with my notes."
"Okay! Geez, you have too many restrictions on your list, why the demand?"
"You should know who's in control right now, you say anything more and I'll snatch it back." She silently groans, mentally mourning her desperate decisions.
Her room reeked of jasmine. Denser in the centre of her space, her bed still unmade, curtains half drawn and her worn clothes thrown on her stool, she sat down on the comfy mattress, drawing out a relieved sigh, she inspected her sloppy area.
Suddenly standing up to view the book on her study table, she didn't notice it before, but his notebook oddly smelled like caramel, a little bit of burnt sugar, and an unidentified fragrance she couldn't pinpoint, was it apples? Or perhaps it was a men's cologne.
Seeing her phone, she instantly kept it back into its original position, interested in checking on the latest news about recent incidents, unfortunately, as soon as she opened it, she saw a lot of messages on her insto and reluctantly decided to hold off her mundane endeavour.
As she tasks herself to answer, she finds a few accounts of her classmates, and then it leads to her curiosity heightening and ripening, perceiving their cringe profile and caption, in the end, she managed to unearth one shocking discovery.
Her bully had an account.
She couldn't negate the familiarity between him and her hypersensitive torturer, it had to be him, no posts were made, just a simple affidavit to show his personality, she wants to bet his side-bubbies did this for him, but there's always a possibility of being false. Most of her classmates were following him, except her, and her distant friend.
Maybe he was dared to make an account- there's no way he did it out of his own will.
KATSUKI BAKUGO IS NOW FOLLOWING YOU. 1 SEC AGO.
Her eyes grow wide.
She receives the notification before a request to message, she wildly couldn't approve his follow petition, she could block him. Even if that sounds harsh, he's committed worse. Sadly for her, he is just going to afflict her more misery if she doesn't.
The proclamation reads, 'follow me back loser, you don't forget to bring my notebook tomorrow if you don't return it, I'm going to kill you.' He cared more about his paper tablet than her feelings. She stiffly hovers over the button, her thumb slightly trembling, stare trained on the smirking face of her bully, his picture confirmed it.
It was him.
Hesitantly her fingers tapped on the letters, erasing her sentence twice, rephrasing it properly in case he assumes it wrongly, the entire time, she doesn't realise she was holding her breath, chewing on her lips, reading her memo thrice, she sends it.
She accepted to follow him back and then blacklisted him. She couldn't see his messages and it was better that way.
Besides, not that he will care.
About to retire from her device to freshen up, disregard and forgive, she gets an unknown call, she immediately rejects it, standing up to close her curtains. It was likely just a bogus call.
Now adorned in soft clothes, she plops on her chair, her phone on mute, prepared to relax and binge-watch videos, but her mother shouting for her presence downstairs had compelled her to put her idea on wait again. She internally groans, carrying herself towards her mother's voice.
She retreated to her dull space after a tough while had breezed by, mildly annoyed but still had a soft tint in her eyes, grabbing her gadget to take pictures of her bully's notes since she doesn't feel like writing and it being impossible jot it down in a single day, she chose to print it out the next morning before school. She opened the slab, gently turning the papers and observing his rather neat handwriting, too elegant for a fella like him. She was astonished.
At unlocking her golden covered phone, several unknown calls had been made to her number, she got uneasy. Checking it prior to making a quick call to know who was trying to get a hold of her. She bought it to her right ear, nervously surveying her entire room as the call begins to drag on.
Until a firm stern voice startled her senses.
"Why didn't you pick up earlier?"
She knew who it was just by the tone of his voice, low, raspy, and an angered portrayal of him already playing inside her head.
She spoke.
"I didn't know it was you." She defended, her legs glued to the floor as she stiffly tried to think ahead, bitting her lips for reassurance.
He didn't answer.
"So- how did you get my number?" She anxiously inquired, glancing at the walls, anything her gaze landed on. She needed some sort of closure, her heart was slowly starting to pound faster.
"Deku gave it." He replied in a single breath, his line on the call was oddly quiet.
She looked at her clock, it was already past nine, was he a late sleeper?
"It's late, I'll hang up now. Bye." She sheepishly uttered, quickly tapping the red button and moving into her chair. She concludes with how different he sounded.
The next sunrise, she woke up late.
She didn't concern herself, at first.
Then recollected her plan to print his notebook just in case, then came her frenzied rush, unfortunately, she had less time to spare and ran out the door with her mother screaming to have breakfast, she sprinted, legs shaky and adrenaline coursing through her blood, breaths short and quick, inhaling through her mouth, her dry uniform dampen with sweat.
Jogging hastily at the scenery of her destination, she galloped across the deserted surface, dismissing the prying stares by her classmates, already in class and seated by the window. She stopped in front of her classroom door just on cue for the bell to ring and signal their impending lot. She collapsed, only to sit straight up and anxiously rampage her bag's contents.
Fishing out the notebook.
Searching it to see if it was the correct one.
It was, she could pass it over during lunch break. The problem was, approaching him willing, after the tactics he pulled on her, she's uncertain, cautious, careful, she shouldn't let him take advantage of her meek nature but, when their eyes connect and he glares with potent bitterness, her heart halts, and the air captive inside her lungs. He was intimidating.
She avoided him, solely for that rationale.
Part of her did not want to admit, she was frightened.
Instead of delivering it to him herself, she begged one of his side-buddies to do it in her cause, and he strangely consented, muttering her thanks and departing with the notebook. She grew more sentimental over it than her bully.
Positive this subsisting to be the last time she had to repay anything of his.
Besides, he was probably enraged she arrived later than sooner and was adamant about teaching her a lesson via a harsh glint, she's subconsciously made a comparison to him being moody vs his usual temper, pondering the same thing upon dropping down on her seat and getting a candy bar out of her pocket. In a hurry, she left her lunch box as well, and she didn't have breakfast either, so this was much she could afford with her current pocket money.
Students were present with her, just her bully and his friends were missing, breaks were her least and most favourite time of the day, it is also when her heckler was picky on her.
In the back seat, her green-haired friend shyly peeks at her figure, his hand grasping a pen and words neatly in scribbled. Wishing to talk with her, but decked not to.
And his intuition was right about it.
Entered their childhood bully with hands stuffed in his pockets. His buddies eluded from his side, standing straight as he loomed over the spirited female, immediately glancing up to stare at him, he lours, deferentially uttering.
"Why didn't you come to give me my notes huh? Are you that ungrateful?" He narrowed his scarlet eyes, furrowing his cream coloured eyebrows.
"I bet you are, didn't even say a word of gratitude after I humbly gave my help to you. You thankless brat." He scornfully ridiculed her, the girl took no intuitive to respond, drinking in his words, admitting mentally, he was right, she didn't thank him. Silence followed.
It was tense for a long moment.
She opened her lips and said.
"Thank you." She wasn't as prideful as him, and it didn't seize much out of her to say something appreciative.
He appeared taken aback, however, his hardened expression endured, he let out a disgruntled sigh, still glaring at her being.
Watching her without saying anything.
"Hmph. Loser." Finally, he mouthed, showing her his back and fled.
Her timid friend had taken note of everything unusual, but simply looked down and dismissed his longing to communicate.
But still, his gaze lingered around her.

School had ended, and she arrived home early, stomach protesting for some delicious contents, without having done anything she normally does after coming home, she strode towards the kitchen and opened the fridge. To find vegetables and none of her delightfully treats, she plopped down, upset with her spotting. "Oh you are home so quickly, you must be hungry." Her mom mocked behind her.
She internally mourned, speaking without thinking, "I am, I had to go without breakfast because I borrowed a notebook from someone troublesome." She frankly confessed.
"Why is that? You weren't absent for at least a week." Her mother remarked, walking towards the counter to prepare her daughter's belated breakfast.
"Hmm. This person insisted on giving me their notes and also demanded I give them back in time."
"Sounds like someone troubled."
She chuckled, sounding in agreement.
"I don't want you staying with anyone with bad influence, you hear me? Teenagers and alike are pretty rowdy these days." Her mother said, keeping the filled plate beside her daughter.
"That's an understatement."
"Well, you know better than me, don't remain in a bad friend group if it isn't for you."
She nodded, finding nothing wrong with the elder's worries. Besides, she was correct.
Finishing her food, she takes off to her room. Still craving for something sweet, but she was exhausted, she didn't want to do anything but rest and sleep, no homework, no nothing, even if she got in trouble for it.
Laying down after changing her outfit, she browsed through her phone, accidentally opening and closing apps she wasn't supposed to. Insto was now her least preferable place to pass time after she found out her bully and classmates also had accounts she never recognized until currently.
The screen is abruptly altered and she suddenly rises, seeing the unknown caller ID yet again. She did not want to pick up.
Thwarted, she childishly frowns. Huffing before accepting the call.
"Hello." She mumbled.
"Shut up loopy, why aren't you replying to my messages? You ignoring me!?" She could visualize his temper flaring.
"What messages? I didn't get any." She acted pretentiously, recalling herself blacklisting him, right after she replied to his first texts.
"Oh, I get it. You are ignoring me." He softly declared, declining her answer by cutting off the connection.
Abandoning her in sharp silence.
Her first few epochs at school have been uneasy, tense, although the peace was addicting, it was far unnerving existing without any unpleasant response or jeers, she shouldn't feel remorseful but, somehow it resolves in her pitying him, not her. Was it emotional manipulation? Or was she tripping herself?
He was frowning her way whenever she feigned ignorance, it bothered him, during breaks he would near her only to push shoulders and dismiss her certainty. Whilst classes were going on, she observed him break a pencil from the corner of her eyes, they sat at a place where they both could catch a glimpse of each other, in the middle, a few seats further or less, she on the left, closer to the window and he on the right.
Throughout it all, her lower abdomen was aching, maiming in a horrendous way that meant something bloody.
Quickly she got up, everyone's attention focused on her, moving towards her stunned female teacher, slightly leaning forward and she whispered. "Can I use the bathroom, please?" She pleaded, staring at her with soliciting eyes.
Her teacher thankfully let her, she raced to the washroom, mentally thinking, wishing her menstruation hadn't started. Regardless, she enters the restroom, rushing into a stall and removing her undergarments. To see dark red spots, she groans, whimpering at the sight.
Did she even bring pads?
Quietly, straining an innate smile, she arrived at her classroom, walking to her seat with a lowered gaze, slowly and steadily settling down, involuntarily, internally, cringing. Following this class was lunch break, so she could survive this.
What little time was left in that duration, her eyes were blown wide, lips pressed tight, and her notoriety drifting off. Her complexion dimmed as sharp jolts of pain coursed through her guts, she swallowed her spit more times than she counted, hands on the desk, her index finger squeezing the other, legs kept close and on the edge of her seat. Just subtly grinned when her teacher looked at her weirdly.
Subsequently, prior to any students leaving, she bolted out and disappeared into the hallway. Her bully watching her.
Coming back, appearing so much brighter and soothed, she swiftly took her place, bringing her lunchbox out and prepared to eat her agony away. Chunking on a piece of fried chicken, cold but still good, she softly chews in the noisy classroom, opting to take another bite but stopped herself as someone bought an empty chair in front of her desk and made themselves comfortable.
"You look stupid." He said.
She just peered at him unbothered, putting her meal into her mouth and cutely munching, no more meeting his eyes.
He grimaced in disdain, pushing himself forward, the mental feet of the chair scratching against the floor. He smirked when she stared at him, pleased with grabbing her interest.
"Why aren't you replying to my messages?" He pressured. She shrugged carelessly, darting her eyes around her desk.
"Hmph." He groaned, continuing, "guess you still don't know how to be grateful." He mocked. She promptly got disturbed.
"Yeah, you could return my notebook." She said he threw her a glance, offering her a warning stare.
"If you weren't such a brat, I would." He laughed, maintaining eye contact.
"I'm not the one bullying myself."
"You sure you can just talk back to me? Because last time I checked, I still have your notes and I can destroy them." He challenged, she took the bait without a second thought.
"I'll just tell the teacher you did it." She threw back, carrying on, "I mean how much can they ignore? It wouldn't be the last time you'll do it."
Without any inclination, he shoved her lunch box off the table, spilling the contents on the dirty floor. Strengthening his nasty glare, shoes planted on the surface, eyebrows furrowed and back erect, ready to take a swing at her face if she dared to say another accusing word.
She held her breath, staring at his face, all her classmates noticed their commotion, slowly she looked down at her spilt food, her heart beating loudly in her chest.
"If you so much as to say a word to the teachers about me, I'll end you." He hissed, his voice ringing in the calm room.
She struggled to keep her voice low.
Throwing daggers as he stood up and receded without voicing any foul words, pushing past the confused students who gawked at the scene.
ïżŒ
She had horrible cramps the next day.
She took a day of leave, swimming in her blankets, curled up inwards, squirming, curtains were drawn to a complete close, encasing her space in a gloomy glow, tranquil except the tone of the waft, a mildly sweet fragrance roaming in the air, occasional noises of vehicle, the indistinct tune of birds. The girl tossed her blanket, feeling too warm and sluggish. Her eyes were heavy, the lure of unimaginable dreams getting tougher to resist, limbs loosely plonked, hoping to surrender and sleep without a care in the world.
She was startled awake late evening, feebly wiping the drool and gingerly attempting to recollect her last thought, stretching her toes, rubbing her face, and picking her non-functioning self up. In her dreamy state, moving towards her phone to disconnect it from the charger.
The thing she saw first, were five missed calls.
She glanced at the clock, assuming what time she drifted off to sleep, however, the calls were recent, fiddling with her choices, she goes back to bed, to lazy around till tomorrow's doom, but, seems like whoever was calling her weren't so patient.
She received it, somewhat composing herself and activating her mind.
"Hello-"
"Why weren't you at school." His deep voice interrupted hers, she blinked, pushing her lips and pressing the device closer.
"I wasn't feeling well." she honestly answered, stiffly standing in front of her bed.
"Yeah right, like it didn't have to do with what happened yesterday, you told your parents, didn't you?" he senselessly points the finger at her, impeaching her.
"I don't understand what you are talking about, I've been very generous with you since we've met, I haven't gone around telling everyone your bad qualities." she angrily retorted, torso leaning forward, lips tightened, and pulled upwards. Disliking his way of accusing her.
"And you've been shamelessly passing messages over to me by others, you think you have the right to be angry at me?" she calmly explained, mildly pitching her tone up.
"You haven't even given me my-"
"SHUT UP!!" he abruptly yelled on the call, surprising her, biting her lips from saying anything more, she could, but she had to be mature with the immature.
They both didn't say anything. He was breathing heavily she noted.
"First you go ahead and block me, then you have the guts to ignore me like if I'm nothing! You really know how to get on my nerves!" His voice cracked, and he sounded uncharacteristically hurt. "You better unblock me and reply to my messages." he darkly threatened.
"Or else..." she goes still.
Both sat in absolute silence, she was feeling uneasy, repressing the immediate urge to sever their unneeded conversation. Because she didn't feel comfortable nor safe.
"Why didn't you come today," he asked again. She thought twice before opening her bitten lips.
"I... wasn't feeling too good." she tensely replied.
"Aren't you going to ask for my notes?" He sounded like he was giving her an order rather than a stretch of kindness. "N-no... I'm fine, thanks."
"You'll be coming tomorrow, won't you?"
She gulped, wide eyes staring at the calendar, softly responding.
"I'm not sure."
"You won't come tomorrow?" he shamed daze, unconvinced with her uncertainty, now delicately mocking her with a low hostile tone.
"If I'm okay tomorrow, I'll come." she firmly stated.
Even though no words were spoken, she could feel his displeasure.
"Tell me your address." he sternly spoke.
She anxiously considered her few options. Outright telling what he wanted, or being clever about it and cutting the call midway, but he would confront her the very next day.
However, her mom shouts her name and it ended up being the perfect opportunity to say their goodbyes. "Sorry, gotta go now."
She quickly pressed the screen, tacitly stopping the call. Dropping her device and slowly inhaling, thinking over their exchanged words, she feels as though her heart would burst out her ribcage, closing her eyes for a moment, she wobbles her way to her mother.
"There you are! You've been sleeping for long dear, do you want some medicine?"
She declined, mulling over to sit, behaving unusually. Not bound to go unseen by the elder.
"I think I need a new haircut."
It wasn't like she couldn't afford another leave, she could sit all day in her room without worrying what her bully was going to do, irritatingly so, he's turned to online communication when he can't torment her face to face, eye to eye, recycling a loop of misery, designed purely for her. He was going to force her to give him her home address, if he hadn't already made someone vomit it by violence, verbally or physically.Â
She already knew what was in store for her, and dreaded it.Â
She almost thought of returning midday with an acted performance of a minor stomach ache or anything she could pretend but realized would only be prolonging the inevitable.
She still didn't want to go.
Stiffly sauntering across the stress, unwillingly making her way to school, to remain a prisoner till the noon, steadily increasing her pace, she carried on, heart dreadfully pounding, releasing shallow exhales, her mind figuring all sorts of scenario to toil with, but still the intense urge to just trot back to her dwelling and not take a step out till she feels stable.
As she continued, she fell into disquieting notions. Soon ceased before her loathed destination.
Faking her smile upon catching a familiar face of her teacher, muttering a good morning, and a slight nod. Then resumed her sad walk to class.
She really wanted to turn back.
She didn't want to go.
She couldn't take it.
Impulsively, desperately, she sprinted through the hallway she'd just passed, pushing towards the entrance and booking it. She did not want to stay.
She kept running till she arrived in a remote area. Gasping heavily, gulping her spit to her scorched throat. Her heart still thumping as loudly as possible, the realization of terror sparked up, dread pooling in her stomach.
She had an arduous time breathing. Her chest was hurting, a keen burning sense rippling inside, she felt tears stream down her warm cheeks, she feels awful. She told her mother she'd go to school and not wander off to the city in a fit of distress, her teachers saw her, wouldn't they question and notice her disappearance? Perhaps even call her parents and let them worry.
Even if she did go back, what reason was she going to give? She came back because her stomach was hurting? Because she was scared? Because she didn't want to go.
Considering both truths and lies.
She'd need to calm down first.

Hey guys....it's me again lol
So if I'm going to be back full-time, I need to update and revamp my masterlist. This also means the fic art that I have previously used. Specifically with Unsaid Vow and Quarter Quell. The fic art for those was good but they had my old username so I can't use it anymore.
So right now I just need something new for Quarter Quell and Unsaid Vow. (open to These things take time, Pen Pal and Paparazzi too although they aren't priority) If any of you would like to submit cover art for it please do so! The only thing I ask is;
Fic name is visible and in a classic font (I detest the fake cursive btw)
Somewhere below title is "Written by laughing with god"
The image you use of the member matches the fic description (ex; Unsaid Vow Jungkook has short black hair, so a pic of him with red hair as the cover won't work)
I prefer darker colors, and simple photos of the members!! No bright neons or anything pls, it's all yandere content!!
As a thank you, if I choose your art I will obviously tag you in all the chapters and the new master list as the creator of the fic art. ALSO as an incentive, I will give you a personal gift :) I will give you the first 5ik of either Unsaid Vow or QQ5 (I'll let you decide). Just a one-time favor though, as I do have patrons who pay to beta read and will be the first to get the full chapters once they are completed.
Please just message me any of your submissions, I will respond if I want to use yours.
Incel Bakugou please :( him kidnapping darling and forcing her to be his slut because itâs the only thing sheâs good for :(
I incorporated another ask I received about a Ghostface Bakugou into this, so enjoy~

TW: yandere, prank calling, breaking and entering, threats
tip-jar: Kofi
The time was a little after midnight. And you, despite being heavy-eyed and blinking, were still lying stomach-down, sprawled out on the couch.
Some dumb show about some dumb dysfunctional family was playing low on the TV in front of you â not much to your interest, it appeared, or at least not enough to cop your full attention â but enough to act as somewhat pleasing white noise, you didnât mind letting lull you to sleep.
You were beginning to drool on the pillow your head lay resting on and looked to be struggling between the indecision of getting up to brush your teeth and the more tempting pleasant thought of simply sleeping right there, without the chores of getting ready for bed.
Your arm was mindlessly dangling towards the ground where the remote had slipped to some time ago, along with your phone that suddenly â just when it looked like you were about to fully nod off â started to ring.
Startled, you flinched at the sheer chimes buzzing loud beneath you. Waking by it as though it were the sound of an alarm going off, only it visibly wasnât yet morning from the looks of the dark outside.
You groaned then, both out of ire and relief â happy it was still nighttime as you were still tired, yet reluctant to have to speak to someone for much of the same reason.Â
Hesitating for a small moment, thinking it was just a friend with some silly emergency â you were tempted to ignore it before guilt got in the way â where with a pinch between your brows and a big yawn, you swiped to answer it nonetheless.
Clicking speakerphone, you had your eyes still fully closed while croaking out a groggy and slightly bothered, âHello?â
You expected to hear drunken cries and the muted thumps of base and beat and club chatter or something like it â all in all, at least a whiney girlish voice belonging to a friend â but none of the sorts was at the other end of the line.
âHello.â It said, much awake compared to you in a voice dark and raspy â audibly altered by some type of scrambler, yet still clearly male.
Still, you didnât really have the sensibility to think much of it just yet.Â
âWhoâs this?â You asked.
âWhoâs this?â He asked back, making your brows further scrunch.Â
âYouâre the one calling?â You replied in askance, dragging your head from the pillow to peek down at the phone on the floor, viewing the caller ID â which gave you next to nothing aside from letting you know that your caller was unknown.
âYou tell me your name, and Iâll tell you mine~â He offered then, and your suspicions of it being a prank call only solidified.
And although the corner of your mouth quirked upward by the sentiment, it was unfortunately just a bit late for you to be bothering with. âIâm a little too sleepy to humor pranks right now- Iâm sorry. Try again later- bye~â You managed to muster through a yawn, hanging up and thinking that was the end of it.
Only, it didnât take long for the phone to ring again.
âWhy donât you wanna talk to me?â The same voice asked through the phone.
The thought of simply hanging up again crossed your mind, but at the same time, you didnât really see the harm in talking with the man. After all, you were awake now anyway â and besides, given he was using a voice-scrambler, it wasnât so unlikely that it was someone you knew.
And with that, you figured youâd humor them, if only for a little while before brushing your teeth. âDidnât your mama ever tell you not to talk to strangers?â
âNo~â It answered â still in that very altered voice that made it impossible to place.
âWell, my mother taught me better~â You joked with a tiny laugh, thinking the entire thing was kind of exciting now that you were sobering up â your mind slowly waking up and starting to spin. Not knowing exactly who was on the other end â whether it was a coworker or friend, or someone else entirely. You couldn't quite figure out who would bother to do such a thing in the dead of night â to you, of all people.
âOh, come on~ arenât you tired of being a goody-two-shoes?â He flirted back, and you giggled a little louder while picking the phone up from the floor.
âFine then, Mr. Stranger~â You whispered slowly and coyly, rolling over to lay on your back instead before continuing. âWhat did you wanna talk to me about?âÂ
A dark chuckle came back through the phone, making your stomach purr in turn before he spoke again. âWhat are you wearing?â
You paused at that â cheeks heating with teeth sinking deep into your lip. âHmâŠâ Looking down at your drab pajama, you didnât exactly feel inclined to be truthful. âSexy lingerie~â You tried instead, trying to keep from laughing while putting on your best mock-sultry voice.
âI donât like liars.â The man answered. âI know youâre wearing pajamas.â
You pouted. âOkay, fine- you caught me.âÂ
âStill sexy, though.â He added, making you giggle again.
âAnd youâre a little creepy, Mr. Stranger.â You stated with a tease, biting your lip with a smile while looking at the phone for his reply.
Only his answer wasnât very nice. âYouâre the one whoring around with an unknown man on the phone, slut.â
Your eyes widened before abruptly hanging up.
His voice had changed, and immediately the whole conversation didnât feel very fun anymore. Suddenly mean-spirited, it soured into something that made you feel all in all rather stupid for even amusing in the first place.
But again⊠it only took a few seconds for the phone to ring a third time.Â
âDonât hang up on me.â The same voice demanded.
And while feeling bored of the game, you sighed with a huff and asked him nonetheless, âWhat do you want?â
âI told you already, I want to know your name~â He said, his playful tone of voice back again â only this time, you werenât at all charmed by it anymore.
âWhy do you want to know my name?â You bit out sourly. Unsure why you were still on the phone and even more unsure why you even bothered picking up yet again at all.
âWell⊠âcauseâŠâ He began slowly with a pause, and your brows only sunk lower with his antics, finding yourself properly pissed until he uttered the next line â only now in a deeply unsettling whisper. âI want to know who Iâm looking at.â
You went cold, with a chill running sharply down your spine.Â
Sitting up slowly, you held the phone tightly in your grip while looking at all the windows viewing the darkness outside.
âOh~ you look cute when youâre scared~â He continued, and you jumped to your feet and stomped to the first window, drawing the curtains one after the other one until none remained.
âQuit calling.â You finished, hanging up for what you really wished would be the last time.
Seconds later, the phone rang again despite your wish. Only this time, you let it ring â deliberating whether you ought to call the police or simply ignore it until it stopped.Â
You went to check if the outer door was locked before padding back to the couch, listening to the phone finish ringing before beginning anew.
You figured heâd stop after a while, but minutes passed without a break until you finally picked up â not out of fear, but anger.
âI told you not to hang up on me!â He yelled, and you sneered.
âListen, asshole-â
âNo, you listen, you stupid bitch-â He interrupted. âIf you hang up on me again, Iâll wring your little neck âtil your eyes pop-â
You gaped at his threats but werenât about to let yourself be bullied either. âIf you donât stop calling, the next call will be to the police!â
âTch-â He scoffed before laughter spilled through the speaker. Louder and louder until it stopped with the next utterance. âStupid pigs wonât make it in time.â
There was a crash of glass somewhere in the house, and you flinched while withholding a scream.Â
Fear hit you like a flash, robbing you of breath before your instinct took you towards the door.Â
Rushing, wide-eyed and goosefleshed, you swallowed thickly while trying to think. With your phone gripped tight in one hand, you tried pushing in the numbers to the police â while at the same time struggling with the lock to the door, shaking the knob with no fruition until finally pushing it open.
You cast a glance over your shoulder, viewing the empty house that now suddenly seemed much darker than before â ears going deaf with the rush of blood in your head, pumping thick from the panicked beating of your heart.Â
Taking a rushed springy step without yet facing forward, you had your mind set on running to the neighbors, only â instead of bursting out into the open street, you were sent back into the house â stumbling until you hit the floor with a wince.Â
Your phone slipped from your hand â not only crashing to the ground as hard as you did but smashing into a broken mess as well â now utterly useless.
A dark-cloaked figure stood at the threshold, taking up the entire frame.
âSilly bitch.â He said nonchalantly, stepping inside â shoulders broad and boots heavy with his face covered by a white mask. Then he laughed, raising a large knife that made you scurry back. âDidnât your mama ever tell you not to let strangers inside the house?â

Part 2 coming soon...
to keep is short: my dad has fucked up one too many times & ruined far too many lives so now i really, really need to move myself & my mom out asap. i'm hoping to move on april 1st or the 5th at the latest.
2 characters included
an added character is an extra 5US$
an added 1k words is an extra 5US$
i will do max 3k words with max 1 added character
i'd prefer smut comms bc it's quick & easy, but at this point i will write anything. just no p.edo shit or b.eastiality
any characters, any fandoms, etc.
full payment after you approve my outline
payment via paypal only
unfortunately no refunds if you decide to pull out halfway
i will be asking for an age verification for smut comms
dm if you're interested or email me: samminikolaiwork@gmail.com
*please check back to the original post to see if help is still needed.
here's my p.aypal if you'd like to just help out.
i also have a k.ofi where i take art comms.
i need at least 2.2k to 2.7k US$ if i really want to get myself & my mom out of this situation. if we have at least 1.8k US$ we're moving.
breakdown of prices & shit below the cut:
unfortunately, a deposit for a new place + the rent, electricity & water bills (that are separate from rent), moving to a new place & trying to survive for a month costs a ton of money. i currently do not have a stable income rn but i do have a job waiting for me in the town i plan to move to as long as i move before april 5th.
the fact that i need to take my cat, dog & my mom's dog with me makes things even harder bc many places aren't pet friendly. & if they are pet friendly, it's often more exspensive.
the place my mom & i are trying to move to is R10 000 per month & requires a 10k deposit. that excludes the electricity & water bills that we also have to pay, which can be up to 2.5k. i'm hoping for us to get at least two months rent + the deposit. so, 30k. honestly, even just one months rent is fine rn.
yes, this is the cheapest place i could find. it's in a safe area, has burglar bars, an enclosed yard, etc. & it allows pets.
along with the move & stuff, we need to buy several necessities bc if we're leaving my dad we can't just take everything, unfortunately.
i'm currently waiting on a quote from a moving company. but i think it'll cost anything from 2k to 5k. let's hope it's 2k. i have no idea what it should cost.
list of things we'll need + their prices:
freezer - 4000
about 8 curtains - 2400
food for our pets to last a while - 1000
litter box + litter - 500 (my cat can now finally be an indoor cat)
misc kitchen stuff - 500
groceries to survive a while - 3000
gas / petrol money - 1500
total - 12 900 (about 680$)
i still need to figure out a way to pay for wifi & our data / phone contracts. but that's a monthly payment thing.
so, here's a general breakdown:
rent for two months - 20 000
deposit - 10 000
elec + water bill - 5000 (2 months)
other things (listed above) - 12 900
estimate of moving company price - 3000
total - 50 900 (about 2700 US$)
R40 900 (about 2150 US$) would also be okay if we can just cover one month's rent. honestly, we can even toss out the freezer (4k) & groceries (3k) & make do w R33 900 (about 1800 US$).
i do have a job waiting for me in the new town if i can move in april + my mom will also do sewing work from home to add to our income. i will also still do comms & such. i might even have to take up a second job but we'll see. thankfully there are several job opportunities in the town.
we also have family in the town we're hoping to move to. so we won't be entirely alone.

CHAPTER â ©. OH, HOME, LET ME COME HOME...
TWELVE YEARS EARLIER.Â
Rindou felt anxious. Rindou felt anxious and he hated it--he did not ordinarily feel anxious, it was an uncommon and unwelcome feeling, and no matter how hard he tried, he could not push it away. His throat was tight and his eyes flickered back and forth between the elevator that led into the penthouse and Ran, who was sitting next to Rindou, stiff and unamused as he glared at the elevator.Â
There was something wrong with you. Okay, that sounded bad, he acknowledged. There wasnât something wrong, wrong with you, but you were acting different and Rindou didnât like it, Ran even less so even though he was trying to hide how much it was bothering him.
You asked them to stop picking you up from school two weeks ago. And they had tried to convince you otherwise but you had gotten angry at them--genuinely angry at them for the first time since they met you five years earlier. Rindou had never heard you yell before until you were shouting at them for being overbearing and smothering and ânever giving you a fucking break.â
It had hurt. It had really fucking hurt. Ran had lost his temper right back at you, and the whole situation had only spiraled from there. Miss Yua offered to talk to you on their behalf, mentioning that it was probably just a phase, âgirls get quite difficult in high school,â she claimed, but evidently she had not gotten through to you.Â
You had not spoken to them since the argument.Â
And Rindou tried, he really, really did. He pushed away the hurtful words you had spat at them to try to make amends--even though he really had no reason to be apologizing. You ignored him. You ignored him every single time, brushing him off and walking to your room without a word, locking the door behind you.
Rindou was tired. You were acting like Ran did whenever Ran got all in his head about something and Rindou hated it when Ran did it and he hated it even more when you did it. He wasnât sure what had even caused the change and it made him sick to his stomach.
Maybe you didnât want them around at all anymore, the thought that had been eating at him for the past week rang loudly in his head. No, he tried to convince himself, that couldnât be true because you would never think something like that.Â
But he couldnât help but remember the genuine anger in your eyes when you yelled at the two of them that day, how you refused to even look at them for nearly two weeks now.Â
He bit down on his bottom lip, trying to stop it from trembling, and he let his gaze flick back up the elevator, anxiety growing as the numbers began rising higher and higher, closer and closer to the floor of the penthouse.
âRan,â Rindou began, worry seeping into his tone.
Ran clicked his tongue as the elevator stopped on the floor, âRelax, Iâll handle it,â he said, but that only made his nerves grow worse because that was exactly what Rindou was fucking worried about.
The doors to the elevator slid open, Ran rose to his feet, Rindou briefly shut his eyes, throwing up a short prayer to whatever god would listen to him as you stepped into the penthouse, a frown on your lips and brows furrowed.
You were already irritated about something. This would not go over well.Â
Rindou wanted to cry.Â
Ran called your name.Â
You ignored him.Â
Ran called your name again, sharper this time. Rindou could see the way Ranâs fists tightened at his sides, and he could see the way his nostrils flared as he inhaled sharply, trying to contain his temper.Â
âIâm talking to you,â Ran said sharply, âLook at me.â
You ignored him.Â
âHey!â Ran said loudly. You jumped at how he raised his voice, the only sign of acknowledgment of the two of them that they had received from you in nearly two weeks. âStop acting like a fuckinâ child.â
âWhy wonât you just leave me alone?â you spat out so viciously that Rindou physically drew back at your words. His lips parted to speak, to say something, but he didnât even know what to say, and any word he thought up died on his tongue before he could force it out.
They were losing you.Â
No, he told himself immediately, trying to convince himself of the matter. There was no way. Something else had to be going on.Â
âLeave you alone?â Ran hissed, âWeâve left you alone for two weeks, what the fuck is going on? Why wonât you talk to us?â
ââCause itâs none of your business,â you shouted, shoving at Ranâs chest when he got too close to you. Ran didnât budge, of course, it would take a lot more than a shove from you to push him off-balance. You went to push him again, brows furrowed, tears pooling in your eyes, and Rindouâs chest felt like it was caving in, âLeave me alone, leave me alone! Why wonât you just leave me the fuck alone?â
His lips parted in shock as he stared at you, as he watched your lips tremble and your hands shake from where they were slamming against Ranâs chest over and over again.Â
Okay, he thought to himself, this is more than just them pissing you off somehow. Something else is definitely going on.Â
Ran seemed to realize it too from how his anger seemed to wash away and his lips turned down. And Rindou truly did feel ill because he had never seen you this distressed before and it really didnât sit well with him.Â
Ran murmured your name quietly, grabbing your wrists, stopping you from hitting him again and Rindouâs breath caught in his throat, one of his hands reached out toward you, eyes narrowing in on your arms, or more specifically, the discolored purple bruises lining up your arms--fingerprints embedded deep into your skin.Â
âWhat happened?â Rindou asked, his voice was low, steadier than he expected and you looked thrown off, following his gaze down to your arms. He watched the panic shoot across your face. You looked at your shoulders, as if you were looking for something⊠oh. The jacket you started wearing nonstop a few weeks ago.
Have you beenâŠ
âNothing,â you snapped, âItâs none of your business.â
âNone of our-â Rindou hissed, eyes ablaze but he cut himself out, desperately trying to calm himself down--the sight of the bruises marring your skin awakening a sort of primal rage that he didnât know he had in him. âDonât try to brush this off, tell us what happened.â
âYou and Ran come home with bruises all the time,â you said loudly, your voice was shrill, your eyes were wild. You were panicking and Rindou was getting angrier because he didnât know what you were hiding from them, and he didnât know why you were hiding it from them.Â
âWe come home with bruises so you donât fucking have to!â Ran shouted, stepping closer to you, but you only stepped back, breath quick as your eyes darted around like a cornered animal. âTell us what the fuckâs going on.â
He should have expected it but Rindou did not react fast enough when you darted between them, taking off down the hall. Rindou moved to chase after you but Ran grabbed his arm, stopping him.Â
âRan, what-â he began angrily but Rindou faltered when he caught the distressed look on Ranâs face. âRan-â
âDonât chase after her, youâll only push her further away,â he said quietly. âSheâs not gonna say anything now. Weâre gonna have to figure this out ourselves.â
---
âThe fuck is your guysâ deal?â Shion complained, wiping the blood off of his cheek as he looked over his shoulder at Rindou and Ran. Rindou rolled his eyes, lips turned down as he looked away, âYou guys arenât usually this boring.â
âFuck off, Shion,â Ran said sharply, exhaling a puff of smoke as he shot a withering glare at the younger boy, âNot in the mood today.â
Honestly, they hadnât been in the mood for a while now. Rindou and Ran both have had severely shortened tempers ever since you started with your bullshit a few weeks ago, and he was sure that they had noticed it from the way they started holding Rindou and Ran at armâs lengthÂ
âYou havenât been in the mood for two weeks now,â Shion countered, voicing Rindouâs thoughts, turning around and leaning back on his heels, âWhat crawled up your ass, huh?â
âI said fuck off,â Ran said and Rindou did not like the tone that edged at his brotherâs voice--it was dark, threatening, and from Shionâs narrowed eyes, he caught the implications of it too. Ran, Rindou wanted to plead, letâs not do this right now.Â
Rindou had no issue fighting if it came down to it--he had thrown hands with Shion before and would do it again--but right now⊠His eyes darted to Mochi and Mucho lingering by Shion, gaze shifting between them, and then to Izana, who was lounging on a nearby box watching the scene with interest.
âSomethinâ up with your girl?â Mucho, ever the calm one of the group of them, asked curiously, blue eyes flicking between him and Ran, waiting for a response.Â
Ran bristled but Rindou spoke up before Ran could snap something at Mucho, which would undoubtedly go over poorly. Shrugging, he said, âShe wonât tell us shit. Asked us to stop pickinâ her up from school ân we figured sheâs talkinâ to some guy and doesnât was us to scare him off. Now sheâs cominâ home with fuckin bruises all over her arms.â
And Rindou genuinely would have preferred that you were talking to some rich boy that spent his weekends on yachts over this--no matter how much the thought of you getting close with another guy made his stomach turn and his head hurt. Because at least then you werenât getting hurt for whatever reason, and at least then they werenât worried sick over what was going on.
âBruises?â Muchoâs brow furrowed and Rindou noticed that Ranâs rising temper seemed to dim a bit at the genuine concern in Muchoâs voice. âWhat you mean bruises?â
Rindou motioned helplessly to his arm, âFingerprints ân stuff, up ân down her arms, we tried to ask her but she started yelling, getting defensive, then she ran off,â he said.
âYou couldnât chase her down? Let the girl juke you out like that?â Mochi snorted, mocking them and Rindou scowled.Â
âItâs not that simple,â Rindou snapped, talking down on him as if he wouldnât have made that very mistake had Ran not stopped him, âYou would know if you ever spoke to a girl before. They get all riled up and angry and then they get silent. We wouldnâtâve gotten anything outta her.â
Mochi scowled at the dig, opening his mouth to retort, but Mucho was speaking again, âAnd sheâs coming home from school with it?â Mucho asked.
âYeah, think so. Doubt sheâd be getting jumped on the way home from school, we own those streets. No one would dare, not to her,â Rindou muttered.
Shion stretched, fastening his brass knuckles back onto his fist, âLetâs go check it out then, we already fucked up these guys anyway. Theyâre no fun anymore. Iâd like to get my hands on one of those prissy little trust fund babies. Bet theyâll squeal just like their pig parents,â Shion jeered, snickering to himself before looking back at Izana, âWhatâdya say?â
Rindou followed Shionâs gaze to where Izana was still sitting on the box, watching them all curiously.
Izanaâs eyes focused on Ran, seemingly uninterested with the topic, âShe goes to that prep school by the National Art Center?â Izana asked, and Rindou and Ran shared a look, unsure of how he knew that because they were pretty sure they had never mentioned it.
âYeah,â Ran agreed.
Izanaâs eyes lit up oddly, a sort of interest swimming in them that had Rindou on edge because he had never seen Izana look so⊠excited for something before.
âLetâs go then.â
â-
âThis is completely unnecessary,â you repeated for what seemed like the millionth time as your eyes darted around the side alley right next to your school, trying to figure out what the fuck you were supposed to do. âPlease just get out of my way.â
It was your own fault, really, for prioritizing time over safety. You had thought cutting through the side streets to get home faster would be better than taking the long route and risking them catching up to you but you hadnât even considered the fact that theyâd have set up around the side streets to corner you there.Â
It was your own fault, and you were sure you were going to pay for it.Â
âShut the fuck up,â a sharp voice snapped back immediately and you felt ill, breath shaky and trembling fingers shoved in your pocket to try to hide your growing anxiety.
It wasnât your fault, you tried to convince yourself, it was your fucking uncleâs.Â
And it was--anger brewed in you as you remembered how quickly your already shitty social life had fallen apart after your uncle had started his relentless pursuit of Izanagiâs expansion a few weeks back, tearing down some of the other major businesses run by the parents of the kids in your school just so Izanagi could get a few steps ahead. It had been ruthless, and it had annihilated the wealth of even some of the objectively powerful, old money families of Tokyo, including some of whom had kids that went to your school.
And there was no way for them to get back at your uncle. Their parents were stuck trying to manage the fallout of what he had done and the kids were suffering the repercussions--the attention of the tabloids and all of the mocking articles, the shame of having lost the majority of their wealth, paparazzi and reporters had been outside the school for days now--and the only way to âget backâ at your uncle, in the eyes of the other kids, was through you.
Two weeks of nonstop harassment and you had no one but your uncle to blame. He had to have known what targeting the parents of kids that went to your school would do to you but he had gone through with it anyway.
Selfish. So fucking selfish, you felt tears prick your eyes as you took another step back and Sato stepped forward, closer to you. His parents had been the most affected by your uncle and he, in turn, has been the most aggressive with you.Â
And it wasnât fair, it wasnât like you told your uncle to do this, and it wasnât like you supported it. You barely even fucking spoke to him. And now you were the one getting punished?
âSato, this isnât going to do anything,â you pleaded, giving it one more shot, âIâm not-I didnât-Just let me get home-â
âFuck you,â Sato spat, âFuck you and fuck your douchebag uncle too.â
You grimaced, swallowing thickly as you tried to figure out what you should do. Maybe you should have told Ran and Rindou what was going on, you thought weakly as your eyes darted around the group of kids whose families had been ruined by your uncle. But you dismissed the thought immediately.Â
If you had told them what was going on, even before this started getting physicalâŠ
They would fucking kill them. You knew that. Ran and Rindou were protective over you, Ran had already killed someone for threatening you before. Knowing you were getting harassed at a place that was supposed to be safe--the one place they couldnât make safe for you⊠They would lose their minds and theyâd be sent to juvie again, except this time they would have a target on their backs because even though these kidsâ parents lost the majority of their wealth and power, they still had powerful friends and those powerful friends had a lot of influence and they could spell trouble for Ran and Rindou, both in juvie and out of juvie.Â
And it wasnât fair for you to rely on them for everything--and yeah, you knew they didnât care, if anything they preferred it but⊠you didnât like it. All your life you had been relying on other people for help--your parents, your uncle, Miss Yua and Mister Ayato, and now them--you wanted to handle one thing on your own and you wanted to cry because you knew you failed.
You always fucking fail unless someone else steps in.Â
Your eyes blurred, you pressed your lips together tight to try to hide the way they wobbled.Â
âSato,â your voice came out weaker than you would have hoped, pleading, and you were embarrassed because the older boy immediately mocked you, taking another step closer. You matched him with a step back, and in your panic, you didnât notice how Sato had paused in his movements toward you, and you didnât notice the way some of the other kids started going wide-eyed.
You stiffened when you felt someoneâs chest pressed against your back, fear taking over just for a moment until their right arm wrapped around your waist and you caught sight of the tattoos decorating it.
Rindou.
You were relieved.Â
For a second.Â
Then realization dawned on you and the fear returned for another reason.Â
Rindou.
You looked up at him, eyes wide, but his eyes were narrowed and trained ahead, jaw clenched tight.
âRin,â you said quietly, and he finally looked down at you, lavender eyes sharp and searching yours just for a moment before he shook his head and shifted you behind him, taking a step forward.Â
Your heart sank, âRin!â you called louder, but he ignored you as he took a step forward, body tense. You tried to take a step after him to grab his arm but a hand curled around your shoulder before you could. You froze, gaze darting to the side and your mouth went dry when your eyes met vacant purple ones, bright in contrast to tanned skin.
âWho areâŠâ
Your voice trailed off when you noticed that Rindou had not come alone. Ran, the boy who grabbed you, and three other vaguely familiar boys had all entered the side street you had gotten cornered in with him. Your brows furrowed as you tried to remember where you had seen them before until your mind was drawn back to the day at the car shop when you had found Rindou and Ran hanging with that group of boys.
The white-haired boy watched you curiously, âKurokawa Izana, you must be y/n.â
You didnât get the chance to respond as Ran was moving forward in an instant, face twisted in a sort of fury that youâd never seen on him before. âRan!â you called after him, voice pleading but Izanaâs grip on your shoulder tightened, holding you in place as Ran swung forward hard with his baton before Sato could react.
You flinched at the sickening crack that rang through the air as Ranâs baton connected with his jaw and your breath caught when Sato crumpled immediately.
No, nononono, âRan, stop!â you cried out but Ran ignored you, reeling his arm back before driving the baton right against the back of his head, âRan!â
âFuckinâ piece of shit,â one of the other older boys from your high school spat, moving forward quickly, leaning down to swipe a scrapped pipe on the side street, aiming right for Ran, who was still preoccupied with Sato, who was trying to push himself off the ground.
âStop itâ you shouted, eyes wide, âRan, look out!â
Rindou was on the other boy in a second, grabbing the pipe mid-swing with one hand and driving his fist into his face with the other.Â
Your heart felt like it was in your throat as the rest of them moved forward once Rindou got involved too.Â
âAhh, this gonna be fun,â a boy with a tattoo on the side of his head crooned, âWonder if blue blood tastes any different from ours.â
Madarame Shion--you recognized that one from Rindou, other than Ran, he was the one that Rindou was closest to in that little group, he was also the one that Rindou bitched about the most. The grin on his face was half-feral as he played with the brass knuckles adorning his left hand.Â
Fuck, you thought, eyes wild as you tried to figure out what to do. If it escalated, it wouldnât be good for them. Theyâd run home and tell their parents, their parents would get the cops on the case and-
âGuys, stop,â you called louder but you knew it was futile, Ran was too far gone and Rindou wouldnât listen while Ran was in danger and there was no way their friends would listen to you. You knew enough from Ran and Rindou that all they cared about was violence and bloodshed.Â
âTheyâre not gonna stop,â Kurokawa Izana confirmed your fears, âLet them do their thing.â
âIf they kill them, theyâll-â your voice was panicked, your breath was quick.
âThey wonât,â a new voice said firmly and your eyes caught sight of a tall boy with blonde hair and an even taller, broader boy with black hair. âWeâll stop âem before it gets that far.â
They didnât wait for you to respond, only following after the three brasher members of their group--the Haitanis and Madarame Shion. Your jaw was slack as you watched the blonde haul one of the boys on Shion off like a garbage bag, flinging him hard into the brick wall on the side street. There was another disgusting crack as his head hit the wall and he fell limp to the ground.Â
What theâŠ
Izana did not join them and your hands shook as you watched the fight continue to escalate. Ran was still beating the shit out of Sato while Rindou took care of anyone that tried to approach the two of them.
Your lips parted to call out to them again, they were outnumbered butâŠÂ
But you knew the boys from your high school didnât stand a chance. You physically flinched as you watched blood splatter against the ground when Shionâs brass knuckles drove into one of the boyâs faces and he dropped limp against the concrete.
You glanced up at Izana and you swallowed thickly at the thin smile that tugged at his lips and the cold look in his eyes as he watched Ran and Sato.Â
âStop him,â you said, and you thanked god that your voice was firm and steady. Izanaâs eyes flickered down to you, surprise visible in them for a split second before the cold, calculating look returned. He was evaluating you, for something, you just didnât know what.
Finally, he let out a quiet hum of agreement, âRan,â he called, voice sharp and demanding. Instantly, Rindou and the three others drew off who they were fighting.
Ran did not.
Izanaâs lips twisted down, an unpleasant expression on his face as he let go of your arm to move to Ran.
Rindou was in front of you, taking his place in an instant. His hands curled around your forearms, lavender eyes meeting yoursâhe was angry, you could tell, but his lips twitched down in concern as he looked over you.
âWhy-â his voice was loud, heated. He took in a shaky breath, forcing himself to calm down. âWhy didnât you tell us?â
âCanât we talk about this later?â you said, âI donât-â
Your voice faltered as you caught sight of Shion licking at the blood on his brass knuckles, a bored sigh escaping his lips as he stretched, âNo different.â
âI donât want to do this here,â your voice was quieter, so only he could overhear, âAnd I donât wanna say it more than once.â
Rindouâs lips parted to respond but he was interrupted.
âOi, you,â Shion called and your gaze drifted to the side, frowning when you noticed he was staring directly at you. âI wanna see the fancy place where Rindou ân Ran are always staying at.â
âAbsolutely fucking not,â Rindou said, turning his attention to Shion.Â
âIâm not asking you, shuddup,â Shion said, keeping his attention on you. âCâmon, we just came all the way out here to beat the shit outta your pathetic bullies. Least you can do is offer us some food.â
âI didnât ask for your help,â you said pointedly, but frowned when Shion only raised his eyebrows. Your shoulders slumped, and you glanced at Rindou, catching the warning glare he directed at you. At least youâd be able to delay the inevitable argument for a little while longer, âFine,â you said.
Rindou scoffed in frustration, Shion looked absolutely delighted, tossing an arm around your shoulders and tugging you toward him, âKnew you were better then them fuckinâ lame asses,â he grinned.
Rindou called your name sharply, you looked at him from the corner of your eye, âYouâre not getting out of this conversation,â he said.
âYeah,â you said quietly, âI know.â
â-
PRESENT.Â
âCanât you drive any faster?â you demanded, voice panicked, breath quick as you looked up at the front of the van. Mina glared back at you through the rearview mirror and you glared right back, although you were pretty sure that the glare came off as rather pathetic considering your vision was blurry with tears.
âIf I drive any faster, weâre gonna fuckinâ get pulled over, and Iâd like to see you try to talk your way out of that one. How you gonna explain to them why weâve gotta Bonten executive in the back of our van? Not to mention itâs fuckinâ pouring.â
His words didnât even register as Ran let out another low groan, shifting in your lap. Your attention was drawn back to him, heart in your throat as you brought your hand to his face, cupping his cheek. He instinctually leaned into your touch and a whimper built in your throat as his long lashes fluttered back open, unfocused lavender eyes searching your face.
His bloody lips parted, as if to say something, but before he could try to push out whatever words were on his tongue, his head lolled back again, passing back out. A cry of frustration bubbled at your lips as you cradled Ranâs head to your chest, arms tightening around him.Â
Heâd been like this since you broke him out of there, fading in and out of consciousness, skin getting paler and breath getting shallower.Â
âMina, drive fucking faster,â you shouted, voice cracking as your words split into a sob, âFuck, fuck, drive faster!âÂ
âY/n, I canât fuckinâ drive any faster,â Mina boomed, âGetting pulled over by the cops is as good a death warrant for him.â
The cops But-
âThe fuck you mean?â you asked, âThe cops? Wha-How would they even know-â
âBonten got outed,â Takuya said quietly from the passenger seat, âAll of its executives, some time between right after the explosion and now. I saw it on one of the headlines before we got him out of there.â
The world stilled around you, breath catching as you stared down at Ran, slowly processing Takuyaâs words. âWhat?â you breathed out, âOuted? But how?â
âDonât know,â Takuya admitted, âItâs not looking too good though. Yamagishi still keeps tabs on what goes on regarding this stuff. He says Bontenâs being forced underground. Half of their warehouses have been raided by the PSIA and TMPD.â
Fuck, you wanted to scream, fuck, fuckfuckfuckfuck why were you just receiving bad news after bad news? Why couldnât you get a break?
Why couldnât you get a fucking break?
You were having trouble breathing. Control yourself, you pleaded with yourself desperately, Ranâs labored breaths and the sound of the rain beating against the top of the van was causing you to spiral, breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out.
But it was hard. God, it was so fucking hard with Ran slowly dying in your arms and Rindou out there alone, hunted by the cops and feds and⊠reckless, Rindou was always so fucking reckless when it came to Ran and-
You couldnât even finish the thought. You felt sick and exhausted and guilty, so fucking guilty. Every time you looked down at Ran you swore that your chest was tearing apart, that the anchor on your ankle dragged you down even deeper into the murky depths of the sea. This was all your fault.
All your fucking fault.
Your regrets were endless. Youâd been recounting every single moment you went wrong in your life since you woke up from the explosion--every little lie, every time you distanced yourself from them, every time you snapped. You regretted leaving. You regretted losing contact with them. You regretted coming back to Tokyo and you regretted not staying with them the night you had met them at the club. You regretted driving them away at the auction. You regretted everything.
Everything.Â
No. Not everything. You did not regret stopping to help them that night all those years ago. You didnât regret meeting them, you never would. You were sure of that.Â
Werenât you?
Tears of frustration built in your eyes as Ranâs body shuddered in your arms, his breath was ragged and his body was limp and shaky, his weight heavy on your lap. You buried your face into his hair, rocking him back and forth as you tried to muffle the sob that fell from your lips against the top of his head.Â
Iâm sorry, you wanted to scream, Iâm sorry, Iâm sorry, Iâm so fucking sorry.
âWeâre almost there,â Takuya said quietly--his words didnât register but the streets around you did. You felt ill as you caught sight of the old playground that you and Rindou used to visit all the time, the streets that the two of you had chased Ran down when he had dumped a bucket of water on you and Rindouâs head while the two of you were plotting a prank on him, the alley that you had met them in.
You felt sick and dizzy.
You could see the building the penthouse was located in the distance, vision blurry, breath coming out as near wheezes as you tried to calm yourself down. And you were grateful for Takuya and Mina because neither of them acknowledged your ongoing breakdown, you knew if they did, it would only get worse.
âYou should let one of us go in with you,â Minaâs voice was as tense as his hands were around the steering wheel, âYou wonât be able to get him in on your own.â
âNo,â you forced out, âNo, you have to get Takuya to a safehouse, theyâll be coming after us as soon as they realize whatâs happened. Staying in Tokyo right now is too risky, this is too risky but I have nowhere else and no one else that can help him. Iâll get in contact with you after. I promise.â
âY/n,â Mina began but you shook your head.
âNo, Mina,â you snapped, âI said no. Get yourself and Takuya out of here. If one of us doesnâtâŠâ your voice broke and you squeezed your eyes shut. Calm down. Breathe in, breathe out. âIf one of us doesnât make it out of here, we lose. Iâm not losing anyone, not again. You guys are-youâre my family.â
âYou shouldnât be alone,â Mina insisted, âIf any of Sugawaraâs guys catch up to you, how the fuck are you going to defend both of you and get out of there at the same time?â
âI wonât be alone,â you said firmly, âI-â
âYou donât know if heâll show up,â Takuya said quietly, âBontenâs gonna need all hands on deck, theyâre-â
âHeâll come,â you said firmly and Takuya quieted down immediately. âI know he will.â
He had to.
You shut your eyes again as Mina began to pull up to the building, letting out another shaky breath as you pressed your lips to the top of Ranâs head, âIâve got you,â you whispered for the millionth time that night even though you knew he couldnât hear you, âYouâre gonna be okay.â
Pulling back, you tapped his cheeks several times, watching as his eyes fluttered open, dazed and confused, âRan, you gotta work with me for the next few minutes, okay?â
He wasnât registering what you were saying. You could see it from how his eyes didnât acknowledge your words, from how his brows just barely furrowed. Your throat tightened, âRan,â you repeated, âWe gotta get inside, okay, weâre gonna stand you up.â
After a few moments, he nodded, and you let out a relieved exhale, shifting on the seat to help him to his feet, kicking open the back doors of the van, helping him down off the back as best as you could, grimacing when you steadied him as he swayed on his feet, gasping in pain.Â
Takuya climbed over the console into the back of the van, crouching at the edge. He called your name and you turned back to look at him. Concern was etched on his face and guilt ate at you when you noticed the heavy bags beneath his eyes--realizing that he probably hasnât slept in almost a week now.
âBe careful,â he murmured, âplease.â
âI will,â you promised, âIâll see you guys soon.â
Takuya let out a short breath as he nodded, shutting the van doors. You wrapped an arm around Ranâs waist, letting him lean his weight onto you as you helped him to the main entrance of the building.Â
You winced as the rain beat against your skin, angled under the overhang, pricking your skin, âIâve got you,â you repeated again, vision blurring with tears and because of the rain as Ran let out a low groan, nearly crumpling under the pain, âIâve got you.â
âL/n-san! Where have you-oh god,â a familiar voice called. Mister Botanâs name was on the tip of your tongue, and it hurt having to bite it back. The new doormanâs face was ashen as he caught sight of Ranâs state.Â
âCall up to Miss Yua and tell her we need her assistance,â you said sharply, grateful that your shakiness didnât show in your tone. The doorman only stared at the two of you and anger hit you so hard and so suddenly that you couldnât even control it, âNow!â you roared and that started him out of his shocked state as he nodded, bowing hastily.
âOf course, l/n-san, Iâll call up immediately.â
And your heart hurt, you barely were able to stop the sob that was rising to your lips as your mind drew you back to the first night you met them. Rushing ahead to the elevator as Ran carried Rindou, Ranâs aggression and defensiveness, everything had been simpler then, even if at the time it felt like the world was ending.Â
âIâve got you,â you told Ran again, and you werenât sure if you were trying to reassure him or yourself as you pressed your face into the side of his shoulder as you waited for the elevator, âIâve got you.â
The elevator dinged and you helped him in, pressing the button to the top floor, and it took all you had in you from losing control as Ran leaned onto you, face pressed against the top of your head, breath weak and unsteady, one arm draped around you. The arm you had around his waist tightened, and you grabbed his hand with the other, holding it in yours, trying to breathe in and out slowly to keep yourself calm.
âIâve got you, I promise,â you said again, desperately trying to blink away the tears, âI promise.â
âI know,â his voice was hoarse, barely audible and this time you couldnât hold back the sob and Ranâs hand tightened around yours, if only barely--just enough to show he was still with you.Â
âIâm sorry,â the words spilled from your lips before you could stop them, âRan, Iâm so sorry.â
And you werenât even sure what you were apologizing for at the moment--maybe everything, you realized dully.Â
You swore it felt like eternity until the elevator binged again, signaling that you had reached the top floor--you were at the penthouse. You couldnât tear your eyes from Ranâs lidded, barely conscious expression as you half-dragged him forward.
âMiss Yua!â you called, voice shrill and panicked, âMiss Yua!â
âRelax, child,â Miss Yua said sharply, her face was tight as her eyes landed on Ran, gaze worried, âBring him to my office and then go get changed out of that mess. Understood?â
You opened your lips to protest--there was no way in hell you were leaving Ranâs side yet--but Miss Yuaâs gaze narrowed and you swallowed thickly nodding as you helped Ran to the backroom.Â
Miss Yua grabbed your arm, eyes softening, âHeâll be okay,â she said firmly, âIâll make sure of it.â
---
Sixty-five. Eighty. Ninety-five. One fifteen. One thirty.
The speedometer kept ticking up. Rindouâs grip was tight on the handlebars of his bike as he tore down the empty streets of Tokyo. How he hadnât gotten pulled over yet was a mystery that baffled him--or well, maybe it didnât. He supposed the cops were too busy raiding all of Bontenâs warehouses to care for someone speeding down the streets.
One forty. One fifty-five. One seventy.
The rain started falling faster and Rindou knew he should slow down, that it was dangerous for him to keep up at this speed in this type of weather but instead, he leaned forward on the bike, speeding up. His breath was shaky and his arms were tense as he turned down another street, closer and closer to the building he had considered home for years, and as he drew closer, the anxiety he had felt upon receiving your message only amplified.Â
âIf itâs a fuckinâ trap, weâre not getting you outta there, you or your brother. We canât spare the resources right now. Be fuckinâ smart, Rindou.â
His chest tightened, his lips pressed together tight as Sanzuâs words rang through his ears. And he knew that he was right--he was being dumb, rushing head first into what could be his death because of a shady message from you that he didnât even know was legit or not.Â
02:34 Penthouse. Ran.Â
No explanation, no telling him if Ran was okay or not, no anything. Just those two words and when he had tried to respond, the message hadnât gone through. That was all you had sent.Â
Or, well, he assumed it was from you.Â
It was from an unknown number that he assumed was you.
That he had no reason to think was you.Â
He could be driving to his fucking death. It could so easily be a trap set up by their enemies--it was more likely a trap set up by their enemies than it was you fucking coming through for them. You had given them zero reason to believe in you, zero reason to trust you so then why the fuck was he-
He cut his own thoughts off, pushing away the doubt and steeling himself as the building of the penthouse came into sight, he slowed down the motorcycle, stopping at the front entrance hastily, not even bothering to turn off the motorcycle as he ripped off his helmet and sprinted inside of the building, hand curled around the grip of his gun, safety off, finger ready on the trigger.
He went right for the elevator, grateful that it didnât take as long as it usually did to get to the bottom floor. He tossed Miss Sara a silent apology when he heard her call out after him in surprise, pressing the doors closed and the button for the top floor.
It was slow. Just as it always had been. And Rindou wanted to punch the fucking wall as doubt began to creep in again. Bonten was falling apart. All of their warehouses had been fucking searched and raided, their faces were all over the news. Sanzu and Kakucho were scrambling trying to protect what little resources they had left and Rindou was here, risking himself for something he had no reason to trust.
He let out a heavy breath, leaning forward as his eyes darted back up to where the floors were binging upward. His clothes were drenched, his hair wet and hanging in his face. His body burned with stress and nerves. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to push it away.Â
What if itâs a trap?
His grip tightened around the gun, finger locked on the trigger.Â
He knew the answer to that question.Â
A sick feeling stirred in his stomach, his throat felt tight, his eyes felt wet.
Please donât be a fucking trap.Â
He readied the gun in front of him as the elevator doors slid open to an empty room. The lights were on and the television was running in the background on the news station. Rindou grimaced as Sanzuâs face flashed on the screen, as live footage from one of their warehouses played in the background.Â
Fuck.
âRin.â
Rindouâs gaze snapped to the side, eyes wild as he shifted on his feet, gun raised in the direction of where your voice had come from--at the entrance of the hall where your bedroom was located, and where theirs used to be. You didnât flinch, even as his arms trembled and his finger twitched on the trigger.
A part of him told himself to pull it. Bile rose to his throat as soon as the thought crossed his mind.
âWhereâs Ran?â he forced out, and he hated how his voice cracked, how he choked over his own words. He pointed the gun at you more insistently, âWhere the fuck is he, y/n?âÂ
âMiss Yua is patching him up,â you said, and he hated how steady your voice was compared to his, even with a gun aimed at your head. âYou know how she gets when we interrupt her, I-â
âI donât care,â Rindou hissed, stepping closer, he pressed the barrel of the gun to your forehead. You didnât flinch. Your eyes met his. âTurn the fuck around and bring me to him or Iâll blow your fuckinâ head off. For all I know this is a fuckinâ trap, just like the fuckinâ auction.â
âRindou, look at me,â your voice was tight, âDoes it look like I am dressed to fucking set you up for a trap right now?â
Rindouâs eyes dropped at your words, lips tightening when he realized you were dressed in a simple cotton tank-top and loose shorts. Pajamas, you would always wear something like that to sleep. And for a moment, just a moment, he could picture you standing in front of him as you argued for a horror movie over one of his âdumb action movies.â Except instead of a gun pressed to your forehead, it was his hand as he forcibly shoved you back down onto the couch before you could change the channel.Â
What the fuck was he doing?
He felt sick.
âBoy, put that gun down before I shove it up your ass,â a familiar, rough voice demanded and Rindouâs eyes widened, gaze flicking up to where Mister Ayato was standing at the other end of the hall, eyes cold, lips twisted down.Â
Rindouâs hand dropped limp to his side.Â
You turned your head to the side, âYou shouldnât be out of bed,â you told Mister Ayato, âYouâre still ill. Go lay back down.â
Mister Ayato looked disgruntled, shooting a suspicious look between you and Rindou, and Rindou felt guilt eat at him as Mister Ayatoâs eyes narrowed back in on the gun at his side. Rindouâs fingers were shaky as he holstered the gun back at his side, turning the safety back on.Â
Satisfied, Mister Ayato turned back into his room, but not before tossing Rindou one last dark look.Â
Your name left his lips, little more than a whisper, and he hated how weak he sounded.
âItâs okay,â you said, and he was grateful for the fact that he didnât need to verbally apologize for you to understand what he was trying to say. âI get it.â
Rindouâs lips tightened and he looked away, âIs he okay?â he finally asked after a few moments.Â
âMiss Yua said he would be fine,â you responded and Rindouâs tense shoulders slumped, relief hitting him like a truck becauseâŠ
âShe never says anything she doesnât mean,â he murmured, and a soft, amused puff of air escaped your lips.
âNo,â you agreed, âShe doesnât.â
There was another pause where neither of you spoke. Rindou grit his teeth as he braced himself to speak again, âI want to know the truth,â he said, and next to him, you tense. âThe whole truth. From the beginning. Youâre not fucking running away this time.â
You didnât respond, Rindou looked back over at you, catching the way your lips were just barely wobbling, the sheen on your eyes.Â
âPromise me,â he insisted. âI want you to-â
âI promise,â you said. Your voice cracked, and Rindouâs eyes darted down, noticing how your fingers were trembling like a leaf in the wind. He let out a long breath, anxiety pooling in his stomach as he wondered what could possibly have you this fucking spooked to tell them. Without thinking, he reached out, taking one of your hands into his, fingers curling around your shaky ones. You tensed for a moment and Rindouâs jaw clenched, waiting for you to pull away, but instead your grip on his hand tightened, and a warm feeling passed over him that he hadnât felt in a long, long time. âI promise, can we just⊠I donât want to say it twice, Rin.â
His eyes met yours again, a pleading expression on your face that he had never quite seen you wear before, and he relented, shutting his eyes briefly as he looked away.Â
âFine,â he said quietly. âWeâll wait for Ran.â

This case in particular is brutal.
As Jungkook sits in his office space, heâs looking at the latest crime scene pictures. And they are brutal, the manâs throat is literally spilling out, tongue cut off.
Thereâs so much blood.
Seodaemun-gu is particularly cold, and heâs been working overtime, as an inspector heâs been pretty busy thanks to a psychotic serial killer whoâs been targeting a lot of men lately
This is the 17th victim.
Jungkooks been trying to piece the puzzle together, he picks up the warm cup of coffee and gulps down another sip, his furrows his eyebrows, he knows that itâs just one person doing all of these killings.
The pattern of killing is too similar, the gore, the marks, the method.
There is a familiar drug found in every single one of the victims bodies.
âFuck.â He curses as he drops the pictures on the table, he needs to catch the killer before itâs too late, it is too late anyways.
October isnât so kind this year, it is harshly cold. And this case has his whole attention. âIâll catch you, psycho.â He mutters under his breath.
He will catch the psycho before Halloween.
Jungkooks grip on his cup tightens. He will make this killer pay. Just as heâs staring at the pictures again, his phone rings.
He sighs, averting his gaze to his phone as he picks it up, a small smile playing on his face. âHey baby!!!â He grins speaking into the phone.
He loves his girlfriend so much. Sheâs the only thing that is making him happy these days.
âHey koo!â as she greets him back, he cannot stop smiling, âahh so are we still on for tonight?â He asks slyly, she makes him so happy.
There is a silence for a few seconds, but he waits patiently for her response, Jungkook holds the phone up his ear, waiting.
âOh⊠sorry baby but no, Iâm kinda busy tonight. You know this assignment is keeping me up all night. I canât Iâm so sorry.â
His smile falters.
âU-Uh..â
This is the third time.
âUmm itâs okay.â he replies, playing it cool but honestly, heâs a little upset because sheâs been doing everything but spending time with him and heâs the one trying to solve a fucking murder case.
âDonât be upset koo⊠I swear Iâll make it up to you.â He sighs. âItâs okay baby. IâŠunderstand.â Jungkook knows thereâs no point in arguing.
He just misses her.
After talking to her for a few minutes, he finally ends the call. Itâs time he refocuses on the case.
What he should be focusing on right now is catching the killer
And not the fact that his girlfriend is literally ignoring him for the past days, heâs barely seen her face this month, itâs bothering him, but he cannot afford to be distracted right now.
There cannot be an 18th victim.
He wonât let it happen.
âąâąâą
Itâs lonely
But at least now he gets to go to his favorite coffee shop and drink, coffee in peace while staring out at the view, honestly speaking the view isnât that special but jungkook likes to have some free time to himself just so he can reconnect with the world.
he enters the coffee shop, the bells above jingle as the door opens, itâs not too crowded today which is a good thing because the less the crowd the more he can focus and think.
Only a handful of people who are drinking and waiting for their orders as he approaches his table. Jungkook sits down on it, taking the chair out.
He scans the area. He likes how peaceful it is here because his job is not peaceful or neither cute, he has just come back from seeing a gruesome murder scene and this is exactly the detox He needs right now.
âHey!!! Mr Jeon?â his snap of his thoughts when the barista calls out his name, he turns to look ahead, and smiles seeing the familiar face.
âHey Ms yn! Howâs it going? I think Iâm just gonna have the regular.â He tells, looking at you, and you nod, youâre a sweet girl.
Youâve been serving him coffee for the past year almost, âwell got it! Maybe I should get you some brownie too; of course courtesy of me.â You laugh, âlooks like you really could use some sweetness in your life since you work so hardâ
He laughs a little, shaking his head. âyeah youâre right. Itâs been quite bitter these days.â He mutters to himself almost.
You walk away. impatiently, he waits for his coffee.. He might have an addiction, but itâs OK. Caffeine is necessary when youâre a police officer.
Sometime later you come back with his order. And he looks at you, thanking you.. âthank you Ms yn. Appreciate you for putting up with me.â he jokes, you give him a kind smile, âoh Mr Jeon how about you Just call me yn?â You insist and he almost blushes.
âAhhh sure sure I will but only if you call me by my first name too.â He waves his hand, picking up his coffee to take a sip, and the smell of the brownie just fills his nostrils and he hums in delight
âThe brownie smells so good and this coffee is awesome. Thank you so much.â
You wink in return, which has his cheeks actually burning up
Youâre bold and youâre confident and that he appreciates about you because maybe you like him a little and you donât really make an effort to hide the fact
âOkay.. Iâll go now have funâ he watches as you go away.
And he canât help but feel his heart flutter in his chest.
âąâąâą
A few days later, his same routine just goes on and on, but there is not a single point that he has been able to catch, which could help him actually lead to the killer
And his days are only getting worse. Thereâs an emptiness that heâs starting to feel. Honestly, he feels like a failure.
A failure of a boyfriend and a failure of an inspector.
Jungkook steps into his dimly lit apartment, shrugging off his rain-soaked jacket. The warmth of the place feels hollow, as if reflecting the emptiness creeping into his chest. He slumps onto the couch, running his hands through his damp hair. His mind is a mess, caught between the horrifying images of the latest crime scene, Minaâs growing distance, and the subtle comfort he finds in your quiet presence at the cafĂ©.
He pulls out his phone and stares at Minaâs name in his contacts. Something in him snaps, and before he can overthink it, he presses âCall.â
It rings longer than it should.
âHello?â Her voice is clipped, impatient.
âMina. Can you come over?â he asks out of desperation because he so lonely, and he needs to feel her love and her warmth.
âItâs late, Jungkook. Iâm busy.â he understands it. Sheâs been busy, but itâs been so long since heâs been with her physically and she keeps on being distant.
Heâs starting to break, his face falls, and his voice hardens at her sudden coldness.
âBusy with what?â he demands, the sharpness in his voice surprising even himself. he gripped the phone tighter and waits for her response with a thumping heartbeat.
Thereâs a pause, long enough for unease to settle in his gut. âWork,â she finally says, but the word feels rehearsed, flat.
âBullshit.â He stands, pacing the small living room. âYouâre lying to me.â he knows that sheâs lying. Does she really think that heâs that stupid?
âExcuse me?â Her tone hardens, defensive.
âYouâve been distant for weeks,â he says, his voice rising. âThe late nights, the dodged questions, the way you look at me like Iâm a stranger. If thereâs something youâre hiding, Mina, I deserve to know.â
She exhales sharply, a sound halfway between frustration and guilt. âYouâre paranoid, Jungkook. Youâre always at work, always chasing some killer. Maybe the problem isnât meâitâs you.â
âThatâs not an answer,â he snaps. âYou think I donât notice the way youâre pulling away? The phone calls you donât take around me? If you donât want to be with me, just say it.â
Her silence cuts deeper than any words could.
âYouâre impossible,â she finally says, her voice trembling with suppressed anger. âYou think everything revolves around you and your job, but you donât even see whatâs right in front of you. Maybe I have been distant, Jungkook, but can you blame me? Youâre so wrapped up in your case that thereâs no room for anythingâor anyoneâelse.â
He clenches his fists, his nails digging into his palms. âYouâre deflecting. Just tell me the truth, Mina. Are you seeing someone else?â
Her sharp intake of breath tells him everything he needs to know.
âMina,â he growls, his voice low and dangerous.
âIâm not doing this,â she says, and the line goes dead.
Jungkook stares at his phone, his breath coming in ragged bursts. The quiet of the apartment feels suffocating, pressing in on him from all sides. He throws his phone onto the couch and grabs his keys, his mind a whirlwind of anger, betrayal, and something he canât quite name.
But for a fact, he knows that heâs lost Mina forever. And the realization dawns on him as he stares at his phone screen. Heâs alone once again like he has been for a month.
But maybe this time, forever
And it doesnât take him long to break down in his apartment. Heâs so alone and maybe he will be forever. Why can nobody ever love him?
Is he not deserving of love?
âąâąâą
The coffee shop is dark except for the faint glow of a single lamp by the counter. Youâre wiping down the tables, your movements unhurried, as if you have all the time in the world. The sight of youâcalm, groundedâmakes something in Jungkook loosen, just slightly.
You look up as he enters, the chime of the bell breaking the silence.
âJungkook?â you say, surprised. âItâs late. What are you doing here?â
He doesnât answer immediately, just walks over to the counter and leans against it. âI needed to get out of my head.â
You study him, noting the tension in his jaw, the shadows under his eyes. âRough day?â
He laughs bitterly. âYou could say that.â
The way you look at him, makes his heart flutter in an abnormal way, maybe itâs the loneliness that heâs making behave like this but youâre gaze actually drives him crazy
You hesitate for a moment before stepping around the counter, standing a little closer to him. âWant to talk about it?â
âNo,â he says quickly, then softens. âI just⊠I donât know. Everything feels like itâs falling apart.â
You nod, not pushing him for details. Instead, you reach for the bottle of whiskey you keep hidden behind the counter for nights like this. You pour him a glass and slide it across the table.
âHere,â you say. âOn the house.â
He takes a sip, the burn in his throat a welcome distraction from the turmoil in his mind. âThanks.â
You sit down beside him, the two of you falling into a comfortable silence. But you can feel his eyes on you, heavy and searching.
âYouâre always here,â he says suddenly, his voice soft.
âSomeone has to be,â you reply, your lips quirking into a small smile.
âYou know Y/N? Iâm so fucking alone. My girlfriend is probably cheating on me. She doesnât care about meâŠ. No one cares about me.â His voice breaks on the last sentence.
You look at him with pity and something deeper swimming in your gaze, but he doesnât know how to pinpoint it, you urge him to continue so he does.
He chuckles, but itâs humorless. âItâs more than that. You donât know what it means to me, Y/N. Just⊠knowing thereâs someone who gives a damn.â
Your heart skips a beat, but you play it cool. âWell, you look like you could use someone in your corner.â
He turns to you then, his gaze intense, and for a moment, neither of you speaks. The air between you feels charged, electric
âWhy do you care so much?â he asks, his voice barely above a whisper.
You hesitate, your pulse racing. âMaybe I just like seeing you smile.â
Youâre the first person who has ever said that to him, and in that moment, he realizes that your silence is the only silence that doesnât feel suffocating.
You look at him with such a deep emotion that it makes him go crazy, what are you doing to him? Why do you care about him so much?
Youâve been there for him since day one. Youâre so comforting so kind and so nonjudgmental.
You listen to him rant, Complain, but you donât say anything every time.
The more he looks at you, the more his heart keeps on thumping, inside his chest and alcohol just rushes through his body, and suddenly his pants feel so achingly tight.
The silence between you both is charged with tension, a tension that makes shivers go down his spine, youâre looking at him in a way that has him hallucinating that you want to lure him in.
He just wants to drown in your embrace, feel you in a way that no one has ever, he just wants to bury himself to hilt inside of you so maybe he can feel wanted again, and maybe he will feel safe for once.
His breath hitches, and before either of you can think better of it, his lips crash into yours.
âąâąâą
The back room of the cafĂ© becomes a blur of heat and desperation as you both stumble in while heâs busy, shoving his tongue on your throat. Itâs not tenderâitâs raw, messy, driven by an ache neither of you can name. He breaks the kiss after it feels like hours, and he dips his head low and you feel his hot wet lips on your neck, His hands are rough against your skin, his lips leaving trails of bruises along your neck.
âJungkook,â you whisper, your voice breaking as his hands grip your hips. It feels so fucking good. The desperation and the need is driving you insane.
You can feel his muscular body, heâs so perfect. You have dreamed of this moment for the longest time. But you never really thought that it would come true.
But as he kisses your neck, his lips burn on your skin. And that makes you realize that this is your reality. You are finally getting to live your dream.
You moan out his name again breathlessly gripping on his shoulders so tightly as he attacks your neck, whispers of his name leave your mouth, youâre getting breathless, just by him kissing your skin.
Thatâs how much you want him.
He doesnât respond with words, only pulls you closer, his movements frantic. Itâs as though heâs trying to drown in you, to forget everything outside of this moment.
His scent is so exotic, heâs always smelled so good whenever heâs visited the cafĂ©, his son is so stronger it surrounds the whole cafĂ© and right now youâre so close to him. Itâs getting you high.
You know that heâs drunk, heâs so fucking drunk and vulnerable, but you cannot bring yourself to stop him, especially not when he pushes your panties down, his lips hot on your collarbones.
How can you bring yourself to stop him when heâs suddenly licking his fingers, as he takes them out you, you stare at him, theyâre glistening with his Saliva.
Heâs so beautiful and so handsome, and the most sexiest man youâve ever seen.
You can only encourage him, and you do that, when he finally starts to push his two digits inside of you, your hips buck up.
Youâre so fucking wet itâs embarrassing.
He scissors them inside of you, curling them inside your gummy walls, hitting that spot that has you seeing stars, immediately and heâs barely even started
âAGGHâŠâ you moan out loudly, He groans at the sound, sinking his teeth in your neck once again, heâs so needy right now, you feel his body temperature burning.
Youâre burning up too.
Jungkook whispers in your ear, âtake off my boxers.â
And you do, after that you start stroking his hard thick length, heâs so big, as you stare down at it, you gasp because itâs leaking already and itâs angry.
Heâs been neglected for the longest time, you actually hate his girlfriend, but good for you. You get to feel him inside you like this.
Heâs hungry for this. As you finally start to do the magic of your hands, he lets out a guttural moan, itâs so loud, and it rings in your ears.
you love the sounds heâs making right now. He sounds so hot almost like an animal in heat.
But he starts fucking your hand furiously, you lift his head up from your neck to look at him and you just want to keep him with you forever
Heâs so beautiful.
Heâs drooling, his eyes are closed as he feels the pleasure that you are giving him, the pleasure that heâs been denied for the longest time.
âT-Thank you so much for this because you have no idea how much I need this you have no idea how much I need you⊠yn- ngh⊠Iâve been dreaming about this⊠how about you⊠and you feel so much better than my imaginationâ
Jungkook cannot wait anymore though, just as heâs close, he wraps your legs around his waist and gently removes your hand, kisses you hard as he shoves his cock in your warm pussy.
âLet me feel your pussy, I need you, babyâŠâ he begs, you grip his shoulders and kiss his cheek. He lets out a shuddering breath once your heat cages him in.
He starts moving his hips at a really fast pace, heâs jackhammering into you, Jungkooks moaning is echoing throughout the back room.
âNGHH mhmm AHHHGâŠ. AHHHâŠâ
The pleasure that youâre feeling right now is the most that youâve ever felt in your life and you never knew that you could feel this good while having sex.
The sex with him is feeling so hot, so good and so fucking raw.
Heâs so big you can see it bulging from inside of you, you gasp.
âCum⊠please Cum inside me.â
You press desperate kisses on his neck, and on the hollow of his throat Heâs so vocal about this. So hot. And then he lets out a desperate mewl as he cums inside your cunt.
Itâs hot, thick and full as he fills you up to brim.
But itâs starts leaking out because itâs so much, you can feel it running down your thighs.
âYou felt a-ah⊠so fuckin good, yn.â
When itâs over, the two of you lie tangled together on the worn couch, your breaths mingling in the quiet.
âIâm sorry,â he says suddenly, his voice hoarse. âI shouldnât haveââ
âDonât,â you cut him off, resting a hand on his chest. âDonât apologize.â
He looks at you, his eyes searching for something he canât find.
âYouâre not alone, Jungkook,â you say softly. âNot anymore.â
But as he drifts off to sleep, your words echo in his mind, and unease curls in his chest.
âąâąâą
The first rays of sunlight filter through the cracks in the blinds, casting faint streaks across the cramped backroom of the café. The room is quiet, save for the sound of Jungkook's breathing. He lies awake on the couch, staring at the ceiling, your head resting on his chest, your arm draped over him like a lifeline.
The memories of the night before play in his mind on an endless loop-your soft moans, the way your body had responded to his touch, how you had whispered his name like a prayer. He feels a pang of guilt, but not for what he did. He doesn't regret it. Not the way your warmth had pulled him from the cold void he'd been living in, not the way you made him forget the weight of the world for a few fleeting hours.
What eats at him is the realization that he used you-your body, your kindness, your feelingsâ for his own selfish needs. And yet, as much as the guilt gnaws at him, a darker truth lingers: it had felt so good. You had felt so good.
Your breathing changes, pulling him from his thoughts. You stir slightly, your fingers twitching against his chest before you lift your head to meet his gaze.
"Good morning," you say softly, your voice thick with sleep.
He swallows hard, unsure of what to say.
âMorning,â he replies, his voice quieter than he intends.
You sit up slowly, the blanket slipping from your shoulders as you adjust yourself on the edge of the couch. For a moment, neither of you speaks, the weight of what happened between you hanging in the air.
âAre you okay?â you ask finally, breaking the silence.
âI don't know,â he admits, running a hand through his disheveled hair.
You bite your lip, looking down at your lap. "Last night..."
âWasn't supposed to happen,â he says, cutting you off.
You flinch slightly but force a small smile. âI know,â you murmur.
He sighs deeply, sitting up and leaning forward, his elbows resting on his knees. âI don't regret it,â he says finally, his voice low.
Your head snaps up, your eyes wide with surprise.
âI don't regret being with you,â he continues, his tone softening. âBut I regret... I regret that I used you. That I let my emotions... my loneliness take over. You didn't deserve that.â
You shake your head, reaching out to touch his arm. âJungkook, you didn't use me. I wanted it too.â
He looks at you, his dark eyes filled with conflict.
âI know you did. But that doesn't make it right.â
You hold his gaze, your heart aching at the vulnerability in his expression. âIt's not wrong either,â you whisper.
He exhales sharply, standing up and pulling on his jacket. âI need to think," he mutters. âI need to figure out what I'm doing.â
Jungkook walks through the quiet streets, the early morning chill biting at his skin. His mind is a storm of emotions-shame, guilt, longing. He knows he should be thinking about Mina, the case, about everything that's been spiraling out of control in his life. But all he can think about is you.
You, with your soft smile and kind eyes. You, who had welcomed him without judgment. You, who had given him a moment of solace in the chaos.
He doesn't regret being with you, but he regrets what it means. He regrets how easily you've slipped into the cracks of his carefully constructed walls.
And yet, even as he walks away, he knows he'll come back to you. He always does.
Meanwhile, youâre feeling the same⊠after he leaves you at the door as it shuts.
You sit on the couch long after Jungkook has gone, staring at the spot where he had been just minutes before. Your heart feels heavy, conflicted. Last night had been everything you'd ever wanted, but now it feels tainted by his guilt, his regret.
Still, you can't bring yourself to regret it. Not when it had felt so perfect, so right.
But as you move to the front of the café, preparing for the day ahead, you can't shake the feeling that something has shifted between you and Jungkook. And you're not sure if it's for better or worse.
But you do know that this was only the beginning and this is not gonna end ever and you donât want to.
âąâąâą
A month goes by, he hasnât visited the cafe after that night woth you, heâs started to get over Mina, The investigation starts to grow worse, the killer more mysterious than ever. Jungkookâs focus shifts entirely to the case, but the memory of that night with you lingers, a dangerous distraction. He avoids Mina entirely, his guilt toward her eclipsed by the tangled emotions he feels when he sees you.
Itâs only a matter of time before everything comes crashing down.
âąâąâą
The night Jungkook slept with you still lingers in his mind, haunting him like a half-remembered dream, a moment of clarity and chaos all at once. He tells himself it was a mistake, that he was drunk, confused, and in need of somethingâsomeoneâthat wasnât Mina. But he knows deep down, it was more than that. It was the kind of intimacy that made him feel human again, something he hadnât felt in a long time.
Yet, when he wakes up the next morning, reality settles back into place. He tries to push you out of his thoughts as he makes his way to work, but every time he passes by the cafĂ©, he finds himself looking for you, wondering if youâre there. The guilt gnaws at him, but the emptiness inside makes him think about you again, just for a moment.
What Jungkook doesnât know, what he canât see, is that the girl behind the counter, the quiet barista with the warm smile, has already made up her mind. Youâve already planned it out.
Mina is your problem now.
Mina never did anything wrong. She never even knew the darkness that lurked beneath your calm exterior. To her, you were just another face behind the counter, the one who always smiled, who always gave her the right change with a soft chuckle. She was just another customer. But that was before you realized she was still with Jungkook, and that was the last straw.
Mina knows about your crush on Jungkook because, on several occasions in the past, Jungkook had brought her with him when he visited the cafĂ©. It wasnât frequent, but enough for Mina to catch on to the subtle tension that simmered between you and him.
You hadnât meant to make it obvious, but every time Jungkook walked into the cafĂ©, your demeanor shifted. Youâd become a little more flustered, your heart would race, and your eyes would light up, especially when he greeted you with that easy smile. It didnât take much for someone like Mina, who was always looking for cracks in the façade, to notice.
The first time Jungkook brought her in, you did your best to be casual, to act as though you werenât paying any special attention to him.
But Mina, watching from across the table, saw how you seemed a little more eager, a little more careful with every cup you made for him. She observed how your voice softened when you spoke to him, how your hands trembled just slightly as you handed him his order. It wasnât hard for her to figure it out: there was something more than just friendship between you two, even if it was unspoken.
After that day, Mina started coming in more frequently when she knew Jungkook would be there.
She made a point of sitting at a table near the counter, watching the subtle interactions between you two, almost like a game. It gave her a sense of satisfactionâof controlâto see how much you cared for him, how much you tried to hide it.
What really gave Mina the final piece of the puzzle was the day Jungkook brought her in again. This time, the way you interacted with him was different. You didnât hide your feelings as well. You werenât as guarded. Maybe you thought Jungkook had stopped noticing, that you could just be yourself around him without it being awkward, but Mina saw through it.
She watched you smile at him a little too brightly, watched how your voice softened when you said his name.
Thatâs when she knew. She had been right all along.
From that point forward, Mina began to play with this knowledge, poking at you, dropping little comments here and there about Jungkook. It wasnât out of genuine interest in your well-being.
No, Mina was the type who thrived on power, on knowing things others didnât. She knew you had feelings for Jungkook, and she wasnât above using that against you.
Mina wasnât a regular customer, but she made it a point to come by whenever she knew Jungkook would be there. Sheâd sit back, watch, and wait for you to slip upâbecause she knew it wouldnât be long before you showed just how much you cared.
You watch her from the back of the café, your fingers tightening around the edge of the counter as she orders another coffee, laughs too loudly at something a friend says, her smile a little too bright.
Youâre not the type to go unnoticed, not anymore. Youâve made sure of it. But this girl? Sheâs everything youâre not. Beautiful, untainted. Her life is easyâuntainted by secrets or shame. But that life is a lie. And she doesnât deserve it.
The tension builds like a slow-burning fuse as the afternoon wears on. Your hand shakes as you wipe down the counter, the hum of the coffee machine loud in your ears.
Mina doesnât know how much you hate her. Doesnât know that sheâs the one thing standing between you and what youâve convinced yourself is yours. Jungkook.
The thought of him with her, the way he always turns to her in the cafĂ©, makes your stomach twist. You wish sheâd just disappear. So, thatâs exactly what youâll do.
âąâąâą
The café is quiet as you lock up for the night.
The faint hum of the city lingers in the distance, but it doesn't reach your small sanctuary.
It's been a month since the night with Jungkook, and though he hasn't been back to the café in days, the memory of him is enough to send a shiver through your body.
You've noticed changes-small ones at first. A nauseous unease in the mornings, a fatigue that you can't shake. Tonight, though, you can't ignore the obvious anymore. Your period is late
far too late.
When you get home, you head straight for the drawer where you hid the pregnancy test. It had been an impulsive purchase a few days ago, something you hadn't wanted to face until you
absolutely had to.
The bathroom feels impossibly quiet as you take the test, sitting on the edge of the tub and waiting for the results. Seconds stretch into an eternity. When the lines appear, bold and unmistakable, the air leaves your lungs.
Your mind races. The weight of the word sinks into your chest. It's him. Jungkook. That night.
The night when everything felt like it could finally belong to you. But now, this?
Panic bubbles inside you, but it's swallowed by something darker, more visceral.
Mina's face flashes in your mind, and it's as if the pregnancy test has turned her shadow into a living, breathing entity. She's always there, always hovering around the edges of your thoughts, a reminder of what you'll never truly have.
She broke up with Jungkook that night. You've pieced that much together. She left him, but her presence still looms over you.
It's her fault you feel this way. Her fault that Jungkook can't be entirely yours.
Before you realize it, you're out the door again, the pregnancy test left abandoned on the counter. The idea takes root in your mind with terrifying clarity.
Mina's address isn't hard to find. She used to post pictures from home-soft, curated glimpses of her perfect life.
The city streets blur as you drive. Your fingers tighten on the wheel as adrenaline floods your veins.
When you pull up to her house, the world feels unnervingly still. The house is modest but exudes her curated style, clean and pristine. A pang of rage surges through you.
You knock softly at first. When there's no response, you knock louder, your fist trembling against the wood. Finally, the door opens.
Mina stands there in a loose sweatshirt and leggings, her hair tied back, and her expression instantly hardens when she sees you.
âWhat are you doing here?â she says sharply, her voice cutting through the air.
You don't answer. You push past her, stepping into her living room without waiting for an invitation. She whirls around, glaring at you.
âExcuse me?â Mina snaps, her hands on her hips. "You can't just barge in here-"
But you're not listening. Your focus sharpens as you glance around the room, taking in the perfection of it all. Everything she's built, everything she's taken from you without even knowing it.
âYou ruined him,â you say suddenly, your voice low and trembling.
Mina freezes, her brows furrowing. âWhat are you talking about?â
âYou don't deserve him,â you continue, stepping closer. The words spill out, raw and jagged. You never did. You threw him away.â
Mina's eyes widen, and for the first time, there's a flicker of unease in her expression. âAre you insane?â she says, backing up slightly. âThis has nothing to do with you.â
But it does. It has everything to do with you.
The knife is in your pocket, cold and heavy against your palm as you pull it out. Mina's eyes go wide, and she lets out a sharp gasp.
âY/N, stop. What are vou doing?â she says, her voice trembling now, you see fear in her eyes, and that is so satisfying
âI'm taking back what's mine,â you whisper, stepping forward.
Mina screams as you lunge, but she's fast. Her nails rake across your arm as she tries to push you away, drawing blood. The knife slips from your grasp briefly, clattering to the floor, and the two of you struggle, crashing into the coffee table.
She fights harder than you expected. Her fists hit your sides, her nails digging into your skin.
But your rage is stronger, a blinding force that drives you forward.
Finally, you grab the knife again, plunging it into her chest. The scream chokes in her throat, her hands flailing weakly as you press the blade deeper.
The fight leaves her body, her eyes glazing over as she crumples to the floor.
You stand there, panting, your body trembling with adrenaline. Blood pools around her, staining the pristine floor, and it's then you notice the streaks of red on yor wn arms.
Her nails. She scratched you.
Your breath quickens as the reality sets in. You grab a dishcloth from the kitchen, wrapping it around your arm to staunch the bleeding.
You leave quickly, your mind racing. The blood you've left behind is a risk, but it's done now.
She's gone.
As you drive away, the silence in the car feels deafening. You glance at your bandaged arm, your chest heaving with a mix of fear and exhilaration.
It's over. She's gone.
But the faint, nagging thought of the blood you've left behind lingers in the back of your mind, a seed of doubt that you can't shake.
âąâąâą
The next day, Jungkookâs phone rings with the news. Minaâs body is found in at her home reported by the neighbors, discarded like a broken toy. The details of her murder are grislyâso much blood, so many signs of a struggle. But thereâs something more. Something that gnaws at him,
He doesnât know it yet, And Jungkook has no idea how close he is to the one thing heâs been hunting.
As he visits the scene of the crime, his heart heavy with guilt over his own sins, the truth starts to swirl around him, each clue pulling him closer to you. But you are always just one step ahead.
And youâre not finished yet.
âąâąâą
Jungkook stands at the edge of the crime scene, Minaâs home. Familiar home, his mind racing as he watches the forensic team finish their work. Minaâs body has been taken away, but something about the scene feels unfinishedâunnerving. As the team packs up, the lingering sense of wrongness creeps into his chest.
He takes a few more steps into the room, his eyes scanning every inch.
The silence is heavy, thick with the smell of blood, and something else, something he canât quite place. He feels like heâs being watched even though heâs the only one left. His gut instinct tells him thereâs more to find, something hidden beneath the surface.
âDetective Jeon,â a voice calls out, pulling him from his thoughts. He turns to see Officer Lee, the junior detective, holding a small evidence bag.
âWhat is it?â Jungkook asks, his voice tight with impatience.
âSir,â Lee continues, stepping closer. âWe found something odd in the kitchen area, near the counter. Itâs fresh blood, but it doesnât match the scene at all. Itâs⊠different.â
Jungkook raises an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. âWhat do you mean, different?â
Leeâs face shifts, his expression nervous. âItâs not the same consistency as the blood weâve been seeing from the victims. It seems⊠newer, almost as if it wasnât part of the original violence.â
Jungkookâs heart skips a beat. The blood. Itâs almost like the killer made a mistake. He follows Lee to the kitchen, where they find the dark stain on the floor. Itâs small but unmistakable, a sharp contrast against the faded red of the rest of the scene.
He kneels down, his gloved fingers brushing the edges of the stain. The blood is darker than what theyâve seen from the victim, almost as though itâs been there for some timeâbut that doesnât make sense. He knew Mina was killed just hours ago.
âIs this from the victim?â Jungkook asks, still focused on the stain.
âWe donât think so,â Lee replies, his tone uncertain. âItâs not consistent with the rest of the scene.â
Jungkookâs eyes narrow. âIt looks fresh.â
His instincts kick in. Something is off, and he knows itâs not just the stain. His gaze lingers on the blood. He needs to know more. If this is part of the same pattern, then theyâre dealing with something entirely different.
âSend it to forensics,â he orders. âGet it tested immediately. I need to know what weâre dealing with.â
Hours pass before Jungkook finds himself in the sterile white of the forensics lab, waiting as the technician works quickly to process the blood sample theyâve retrieved from the crime scene.
He stands by, his mind on edge, feeling the pull of the unknown tightening its grip. The room is quiet, save for the hum of machinery and the faint clicking of keyboards as the technician runs the test.
Finally, the technician hands Jungkook a printed report. Jungkook takes it with a calmness he doesnât feel, his fingers trembling ever so slightly as he scans the document.
The results are like a slap in the face.
The bloodâthis bloodâbelongs to a woman.
His chest tightens as he rereads the details. But itâs not just any woman. The test shows the presence of hormone levels consistent with early pregnancy.
A pregnant woman.
The words blur before his eyes. His mind struggles to make sense of it. Pregnant? How could it be?
This isnât just some random woman who happened to get involved in the case. This is a pregnant woman. The kind of detail that changes everything.
He stares at the report in stunned silence. Minaâs murder doesnât fit with any of the previous patterns, but this⊠this is a whole new level of complexity. And, despite his growing confusion, Jungkook canât shake the nagging thought that the killer might be someone unexpectedâsomeone whoâs been hiding in plain sight.
Jungkookâs mind races as he pieces everything together. The fact that the blood belongs to a pregnant woman is huge. It feels like a lead that could take him in an entirely new direction, but thereâs something else gnawing at him. A suspicion he canât quite shake.
Itâs the note he found on Minaâs body. The strange connection between the killings. Every victim has had a twisted background, all male, all with histories of violence or crime. But Mina⊠she was an exception. A woman. And she wasnât involved in the same kind of criminal activity.
His gut is telling him something isnât right. Heâs seen this beforeâwhen his intuition is pushing him toward an answer, even when he doesnât have all the pieces. And now, with this new revelation about the blood, that nagging feeling is only growing stronger.
Could the killer be a woman? Could the killer be pregnant? The thought unsettles him, but it makes sense. Perhaps this is the killerâs twistâtargeting those who have wronged others, whoâve hurt people in the most vicious ways, while hiding behind a carefully crafted disguise.
As he stands there, staring at the test results, a chilling realization slowly begins to creep in. He hasnât even begun to connect the dots. He hasnât yet put it all together.
And the more he thinks about it, the more he realizes the one thing thatâs been staring him in the face all along: someone close to him could be hiding this terrible secret.
But he doesnât know who that is yet.
The blood. The pregnancy. The mysterious nature of Minaâs deathâeverything points to a killer whoâs been hidden from view. Someone whoâs not just playing a part in this sick game but is actively controlling the strings.
Jungkook takes one last look at the report in his hand. The piece of paper seems to burn with the weight of its revelation.
âPregnant,â he mutters under his breath, the word tasting bitter in his mouth. âWho could it be?â
Jungkookâs thoughts are muddled. He hasnât even considered the possibility that someone he knows could be involved. But the facts keep leading him in that direction.
With every passing second, the answer feels closer, yet farther away. All Jungkook knows for certain is that this case is far more complicated than he ever imagined.
And the killer is closer than he thinks.
âąâąâą
That night? he decides to visit his favorite coffee place again
The cafĂ© is dimly lit, the warm golden glow of the overhead lights casting long shadows across the empty tables. Itâs lateâwell past closing time for most placesâbut youâre still here. Youâve started staying later than usual, lingering in the quiet of your sanctuary, unable to go home to the lingering guilt of what youâve done.
Youâre wiping down the counter when the bell above the door chimes. The sound startles you, breaking through the silence. When you look up, itâs him.
Jungkook.
Heâs standing in the doorway, his hair slightly disheveled, his eyes heavy with exhaustion. Itâs been a month since that night, and he hasnât been back since. Seeing him now feels like a punch to the chest, and for a moment, you canât breathe.
âJungkook,â you say softly, your voice barely audible. âYouâre here again after a long time..â
He offers a small, tired smile as he steps inside, his hands shoved into the pockets of his jacket. âHey,â he says, his voice low and gravelly. âI know itâs late⊠but are you still making coffee?â
You nod quickly, trying to push down the rising emotions threatening to choke you. âOf course. For you? Always.â
He sits at his usual spot near the counter, leaning back in the chair as he watches you move around the machine. The silence between you is thick, weighted with everything unsaid.
As you hand him the cup, his fingers brush against yours. The contact is brief but electric, sending a shiver up your spine. He takes a sip, his eyes closing as he lets out a soft sigh.
âThis is exactly what I needed,â he murmurs, more to himself than to you.
You canât hold it in anymore. The words burst from your lips before you can stop them. âI need to tell you something.â
He looks up at you, his brows furrowing slightly. âWhat is it?â
Your hands tremble as you grip the counter for support. Youâve been rehearsing this in your head for days, but now, with him sitting there, the reality of it feels overwhelming.
âIâm⊠Iâm pregnant,â you say finally, your voice barely above a whisper.
The words hang in the air, and for a moment, his expression is unreadable. He sets the cup down slowly, staring at you like heâs trying to piece together what you just said.
âWhat?â he says finally, his voice low and filled with disbelief.
You swallow hard, nodding. âItâs yours, Jungkook. From that night.â
His breath hitches, and he leans back in his chair, running a hand through his hair. âPregnant,â he repeats, almost to himself. The weight of the revelation sinks in, his eyes flicking to your stomach before meeting your gaze again.
âThatâs⊠thatâs a lot to process,â he says finally, his tone careful.
âBut.. promise that I wonât abandon you⊠I will take full responsibility.. donât worry⊠Iâm so sorryâ
Youâre about to say somethingâanything to break the tensionâwhen his gaze drops to your arm. His brows knit together as he notices the faint, raw scratches peeking out from beneath your sleeve.
âWhat happened to your arm?â he asks, his tone shifting, more alert now.
Your heart skips a beat, panic rising in your chest. You pull your sleeve down instinctively, hiding the marks. âItâs nothing,â you say quickly, too quickly.
He doesnât look convinced. His eyes narrow slightly as he studies you. âThose look fresh,â he says, his voice sharp. âDid someone hurt you?â
âNo,â you say firmly, forcing a laugh. âIâm just clumsy, thatâs all.â
Jungkook doesnât respond immediately. He just watches you, his gaze searching, like heâs trying to read the truth in your expression.
âY/N,â he says finally, his voice soft but insistent. âIf somethingâs going on, you need to tell me.â
You shake your head, plastering on a smile that feels more like a mask. âItâs nothing, really. You donât have to worry.â
But he doesnât look convinced. His jaw tightens, and he leans forward slightly, his fingers drumming against the edge of the table.
âAre you sure?â he asks, his voice low.
You nod quickly, avoiding his gaze. âI promise. Everythingâs fine.â
He doesnât press further, but the tension in the air is palpable. You can feel his eyes on you as you turn away, pretending to busy yourself with cleaning.
The rest of the conversation is stilted, awkward. He finishes his coffee quickly, his movements stiff and deliberate.
âI should go,â he says finally, standing up and sliding the cup toward you. âThanks for the coffee.â
You nod, forcing a smile as you watch him leave. The door swings shut behind him, and the silence that follows is deafening.
You lean against the counter, your legs trembling beneath you. The scratches on your arm burn as if in reminder. You knew this moment would come, but now that it has, you feel the weight of everything crashing down around you.
He doesnât suspect youânot yet. But the way he looked at you, the questions he asked⊠itâs only a matter of time.
âąâąâą
Jungkook sits at his desk in the dimly lit precinct, the case file for Minaâs murder spread out before him. His mind is a storm, every detail looping back to the one piece of evidence he canât shakeâthe fresh blood at the crime scene, identified as belonging to a pregnant woman.
He had brushed it off at first, thinking maybe it was some unknown accomplice or a bizarre twist in the killerâs pattern. But now, after his late-night visit to the cafĂ©, everything feels like itâs coming together in ways he wishes it wouldnât.
His hands clench into fists as he remembers Y/Nâs confession.
And then there were the scratches.
Theyâd looked raw, freshâexactly like the kind of defensive wounds a victim might leave behind. He tries to dismiss the thought. Itâs Y/N, he tells himself. Sweet, shy Y/N, who wouldnât hurt a fly. But the evidence wonât let him go.
The blood. The scratches. Her sudden nervousness, the way she pulled her sleeve down, the way she avoided his eyes when he asked her about it.
Jungkook takes a deep breath, trying to steady himself. He doesnât want to believe itâdoesnât even want to entertain the thought. But as an inspector, he knows he canât ignore the signs.
He flips through the photos from the crime scene, his eyes lingering on the smear of blood leading away from Minaâs body. The forensic team had confirmed it didnât belong to Mina, and it wasnât old enough to have been left by anyone else.
It had to be the killerâs.
He leans back in his chair, staring up at the ceiling. His mind races with conflicting thoughtsâhis duty to the case, his growing feelings for Y/N, and the sickening possibility that they might be connected in ways he canât yet comprehend.
âJeon,â his partner calls from across the room, breaking his train of thought. âAnything new?â
Jungkook shakes his head, snapping the file shut. âNo,â he lies. âStill piecing it together.â
But inside, he knows he canât ignore this.
The next night, Jungkook finds himself back at the cafĂ©. Itâs late again, and the streets are quiet, save for the occasional hum of a passing car. He tells himself heâs just here for coffee, to clear his head. But deep down, he knows thatâs not true.
Y/N is behind the counter, her movements slower than usual, as if weighed down by something unseen. She startles when she sees him walk in, her eyes wide, but she quickly masks it with a smile.
âBack again?â she asks, her voice trembling slightly.
He nods, offering a small smile of his own. âCouldnât stay away. You make the best coffee, remember?â
She laughs softly, but it doesnât reach her eyes. He watches her closely as she moves, noticing the way she avoids his gaze, the way she keeps her sleeves tugged down over her wrists.
When she sets the cup in front of him, he doesnât drink right away. Instead, he leans forward, resting his elbows on the counter.
âY/N,â he says softly, his voice steady but probing.
She looks up at him, her smile faltering. âYeah?â
âYou never told me how you got those scratches,â he says, his tone casual but his eyes sharp.
Her breath catches, and he sees the flicker of panic in her expression before she quickly masks it. âI told you,â she says lightly. âIâm clumsy.â
âClumsy enough to leave marks like that?â he presses, his gaze unrelenting.
Her hands tremble slightly as she picks up a cloth and starts wiping down the counter. âWhy are you asking?â she says, her tone defensive.
He leans back, his jaw tightening. âJust curious. You know, with everything going on⊠people getting hurt. Makes me worry.â
She doesnât respond, her focus fixed on the counter. The tension between them is thick, the silence stretching uncomfortably.
âIâm fine,â she says finally, her voice barely above a whisper.
But Jungkook isnât convinced. Every instinct in him is screaming that something is wrong, that sheâs hiding something. And yet, despite everything, a part of him doesnât want to believe it.
âOkay,â he says finally, his tone softening. âIf you say so.â
But as he leaves the cafĂ© that night, the weight of his suspicions feels heavier than ever. The blood, the scratches, her nervousnessâit all lines up too perfectly to ignore.
Jungkook walks slowly back to his car, his mind swirling with thoughts he doesnât want to entertain. He stops just short of the driverâs seat, leaning against the door and staring at the dark street ahead.
The Y/N he knowsâthe one heâs been drawn to, the one who seemed so kind, so unassumingâcouldnât possibly be capable of this. Could she?
He slams his fist lightly against the roof of the car, frustration boiling under his skin. He doesnât want to doubt her. But the evidence doesnât lie.
That same night, Jungkook decides to dive deeper into the case. He returns to the precinct and retrieves the forensic report on the blood found at Minaâs home. Heâs read it before, but now, with fresh eyes, he scans the details again.
The report confirms it: the blood belongs to a pregnant woman. The realization sends a chill down his spine.
Jungkook rubs a hand over his face, exhaustion creeping in as he tries to piece it all together. The killer had left no other traceâno prints, no DNAâjust this blood. It was careless, uncharacteristic of someone who had been so meticulous with the other murders.
Why now? he wonders.
The connection feels tenuous at best, but the scratches on Y/Nâs arm flash in his mind again, and he canât ignore the unease building in his chest.
âJeon,â his partner calls from his desk, interrupting his thoughts. âYouâre still here? Go home, man. Youâve been at this for weeks.â
Jungkook forces a nod, shutting the file and grabbing his coat. âYeah, Iâm going,â he mutters.
But he doesnât go home.
Instead, he drives back to Minaâs house, parking a short distance away and stepping out into the cold night. The crime scene has long since been cleared, but he needs to see it again, needs to feel it.
The house looms dark and silent, a grim reminder of what had happened within its walls. He steps closer, his boots crunching against the gravel as he shines his flashlight across the ground.
And then he sees itâa faint stain on the walkway leading away from the house.
His heart pounds as he kneels down, pulling on gloves and carefully swabbing the dried blood. Itâs faint but fresh enough to have gone unnoticed during the initial sweep.
He stands, staring at the swab in his hand. It could be nothing, a stray smear left behind by someone from the forensics team. But it could also be something.
Someone.
As he slips the evidence into a bag, his mind circles back to Y/N. The scratches. Her sudden announcement. The way she seemed so on edge, so unlike herself.
The thought makes his stomach twist painfully. He doesnât want to believe it, but the pieces are falling into place, and the picture theyâre forming is one he canât ignore.
He gets back into his car, gripping the steering wheel tightly. His next steps are clear: have the blood tested again, cross-reference it, and get answers.
But for now, he sits in the dark, staring out at the empty street,
Caught between his duty as an inspector and the growing fear that the woman heâs falling for might be the one heâs been chasing all along.
âąâąâą
Itâs been days since Jungkook swabbed the blood at Minaâs crime scene. Days of sleepless nights, staring at reports, running DNA tests, and trying to ignore the tightening noose of suspicion around Y/N.
The results came back that morning. The blood is a match. A match for the mysterious pregnant killer. A match for Y/N, You.
The words on the report burn into his mind, but he canât bring himself to process them fully. Instead, he spends hours driving aimlessly through Seodaemun-gu, circling back to the cafĂ© before stopping outside Y/Nâs small apartment.
Heâs not sure what heâs going to say, or do. The woman heâs fallen forâwho is carrying his childâhas killed at least eighteen people, including Mina. But the thought of turning you in feels like a betrayal heâs incapable of.
Jungkook climbs the steps to your door, his heart pounding so hard heâs sure youâll hear it the moment he knocks.
The door opens almost immediately, and Y/Nâs face lights up in surprise. âJungkook,â you say softly, but thereâs a tension in your voice, as if youâve been expecting this moment.
He steps inside without asking, closing the door behind him. His eyes scan the room, searching for somethingâanything that might confirm what he already knows.
âYouâve been avoiding me,â you say, your voice low. You move to the small kitchen, your movements stiff.
âY/N,â he says, his voice calm but firm. âWe need to talk.â
You freeze, your back to him, her hand resting on the counter. âAbout what?â
He doesnât answer immediately, instead stepping closer. âYou already know what.â
Y/N turns to face him, Your expression guarded. âI donât know what youâre talking about, Jungkook.â
âDonât,â he says, his tone sharper than he intends. He exhales slowly, trying to keep his emotions in check. âI know, Y/N. About Mina. About all of it.â
Your face pales, and for a moment, you doesnât respond. Then you cross your arms, your gaze steady but wary. âYouâre mistaken,â you say evenly.
âIâm not,â he replies. He reaches into his jacket and pulls out the forensic report, dropping it onto the table. âThis is your blood. At Minaâs house. You were there.â
Y/Nâs breath catches, and you looks down at the report, your hands trembling. âItâs not what you think,â you whisper,
âThen tell me what it is!â His voice rises, the frustration and desperation spilling out. âBecause the evidence says you killed her, Y/N. It says youâve killed all of them.â
She doesnât deny it. Instead, she steps back, her hands gripping the edge of the counter as if to steady herself. âI did it,â she says quietly, her voice breaking. âBut they deserved it, Jungkook. Every single one of them.â
He stares at her, the weight of her confession hitting him like a freight train. âMina didnât deserve it,â he says, his voice hollow.
Her eyes fill with tears, and she shakes her head. âShe broke you, Jungkook. She hurt you. And I couldnâtââ
âThat wasnât your decision to make!â he shouts, his voice cracking with emotion. âYou had no right!â
Silence falls between them, heavy and suffocating. Y/Nâs tears spill over, but she doesnât move, doesnât try to defend herself further.
Jungkook rubs a hand over his face, his thoughts spiraling. He knows what he should doâwhat his duty demands. But when he looks at her, at the woman carrying his child, he feels nothing but agony.
âIâm pregnant,â she says suddenly, her voice trembling.
âI know,â he says, his voice barely above a whisper.
âSERIOUSLY YN What the fuck have you done? I fell in love with a psychotic killer. FUCK!â
She flinches at his tone, her tears falling harder. âI didnât mean for this to happen,â she says, her voice cracking. âI just, I couldnât let them keep hurting people. I couldnât let her keep hurting you.â
Jungkook closes his eyes, her words tearing through him. When he finally looks at her again, his expression is unreadable. âDo you understand what youâve done?â he asks, his voice quiet but laced with pain.
âYes,â she whispers.
âYouâve destroyed everything,â he says, his voice breaking.
She sobs, collapsing into a chair. âI didnât mean to destroy you, Jungkook. Iââ
âYou didnât destroy me,â he cuts her off, his tone icy. âYou destroyed us.â
The room falls silent again, the weight of his words suffocating them both.
Finally, he speaks, his voice hollow. âI canât turn you in, Y/N. I should, but I canât. Because Iââ He stops himself, shaking his head as if to dispel the thought. âBut I need you to know that what youâve done⊠itâs unforgivable.â
She looks up at him, her tear-streaked face full of anguish. âThen what happens now?â
Jungkook stares at her for a long moment, his jaw clenched, his hands trembling. âI donât know,â he says finally, his voice barely audible. âI donât know.â
And with that, he turns and walks out, leaving her alone with her guilt and the devastating weight of what sheâs done.

He takes a lot of Days to think about what heâs gonna do next, the truth is that heâs fallen too deeply in love with you to turn you in especially since he found out that youâre pregnant and as fucked up as it sounds, but the way you confessed to him that you killed Mina because she had hurt him,
It switched something inside him.. no one has ever gone that far for him.
Youâre expecting his child
He has to do something to save you. He cannot turn you in no matter what.
So he decides to do something, a week later.
Jungkook sits alone in his car, parked a block away from the station. The stack of case files sits on the passenger seat, the details of eighteen brutal murders outlined in gruesome detail. At the top of the stack is Minaâs file.
The weight of what heâs about to do crushes his chest, but heâs made his decision.
If you go down, you take his child with you. You take him with you.
He exhales sharply, gripping the steering wheel until his knuckles turn white. Heâs always been a by-the-book cop, but the moment he fell for Y/N, that part of him started to crumble. Now, heâs about to destroy whatâs left of it.
He enters the station with confidence and a mask.
The precinct buzzes with energy as Jungkook walks in, the familiar hum of chatter and clacking keyboards filling the air. His partner, Detective Choi, greets him with a nod.
âGot something for me, Jeon?â Choi asks, leaning back in his chair.
Jungkook sets the files down on his desk, forcing a calm expression. âYeah,â he says. âIâve been looking into a lead.â
Choi raises an eyebrow. âA lead? Weâve been spinning our wheels on this for months. What kind of lead?â
Jungkook opens Minaâs file, pulling out the report he fabricated the night before. He had spent hours doctoring evidence, crafting a story that would absolve Y/N of suspicion.
âThis,â he says, handing the report to Choi.
Choi scans the document, his expression shifting from skepticism to curiosity. âA drug connection?â
âYeah,â Jungkook lies smoothly. âI traced the source of the drug found in all the victims to a trafficking ring operating out of Incheon. Itâs messy, but I think one of their enforcers is responsible for the killings.â
Choi frowns, flipping through the pages. âAn enforcer who kills eighteen people, including Mina, and just disappears?â
âThatâs the thing,â Jungkook says, leaning in. âI think theyâve already been eliminated. Internal cleaning. It explains why the killings stopped after Minaâs case.â
Itâs a bold lie, but Jungkook delivers it with conviction, weaving in just enough plausible details to make it stick. He knows Choi is sharp, but he also knows his partner is tired of this case. They all are.
Choi nods slowly, handing the report back. âItâs a stretch, but it tracks. Youâre saying we close this case on the assumption the killerâs dead?â
Jungkook shrugs, feigning indifference. âUnless youâve got a better lead, I donât see another option. The evidence lines up. Itâs messy, but it fits.â
Choi exhales heavily, rubbing his temples. âFine. Iâll run it by the chief.â
âąâąâą
The reaction is mixed. Some detectives are relieved to put the case behind them, satisfied with Jungkookâs explanation. Others grumble about loose ends and unanswered questions, but no one presses too hard.
âGood work, Jeon,â the chief says, clapping him on the shoulder. âYouâve been on this for months. Go home. Get some rest.â
Jungkook forces a smile, nodding. âThanks, chief.â
As he walks out of the precinct, he feels the weight of his actions settle over him. Heâs betrayed his badge, his oath, and every victim in this case.
But heâs saved you.
But thereâs still a lot of loose ends that he needs to tie up, especially to convince his department that the pregnant woman was a pawn.
He needs to do something really convincing, and soon because time is running out.
âąâąâą
After a lot of days later, youâre almost now almost two pregnant, Jungkook hasnât visited you after that confrontation and you think that maybe heâs abandoned you and maybe heâs gonna arrest you but youâre ready to pay for your sins.
You know what you were getting into when you decided to do this and you donât regret killing any one of them.
Especially not Mina
Only if you had any idea⊠about what is happening around youâŠ
ïżŒ The apartment is quiet when Jungkook arrives. The air feels thick with tension, the kind that comes from unsaid words, from everything thatâs been building up for weeks, months even.
Heâs been here before, countless times, but tonight feels different. Itâs as if the weight of everything thatâs happened has finally caught up to him. The lies. The murder. The twisted love youâve both been hiding from.
Youâre sitting at the kitchen table when he walks in, a cup of cold coffee in front of you, untouched. The dim light casts long shadows across your face,
making you look almost ethereal, but thereâs a darkness in your eyes that he hasnât seen before. He doesnât know whether itâs the guilt or the truth that lingers between you both, but itâs there. Itâs palpable.
You donât stand up when he enters. You donât even look at him at first. Instead, your fingers trace the rim of the cup absentmindedly, like youâre lost in thought, deciding what to say. Or maybe deciding if you should say anything at all.
âYouâre here,â you say finally, your voice quiet, almost resigned. âI was wondering when youâd come.â
Jungkook closes the door behind him, his breath heavy. The sight of you is almost too much to bear.
He feels the pull, the urgency of everything thatâs been building up since that night at the cafĂ©. But thereâs something else too. Something darker. The guilt. The secret heâs been keeping. The knowledge that heâs closing his eyes to the truth.
âI had to,â he replies, his voice hoarse. His eyes move to you, scanning your face, trying to find the woman he once thought he understood, the one who wasnât a murderer. But now, nothing seems as simple as it once did.
You finally look up, your eyes meeting his, and for a brief moment, he sees it. The crack in your facade. The vulnerability that youâve been hiding. But itâs fleeting. Quickly masked by that cold, calculating expression heâs learned to fear.
âYou did what you had to?â you echo, a bitter smile tugging at your lips. âFunny. I didnât know I was something you had to protect.â
Your stomach twists, guilt washing over you as you feel the weight of your words. The truth that heâs been avoiding hits you like a punch to the gut.
âI didnât want toâŠ,â he starts, his words faltering. âI didnât want any of this. But I couldnât let you go. Not after everything.â
You smile, but itâs not a smile at all. Itâs a mask. A shield youâve put up, but he sees through it. Just like heâs starting to see through everything youâve done.
âWhy didnât you let me go, Jungkook?â you ask, standing slowly, your eyes never leaving his. You take a step toward him, the space between you narrowing with every heartbeat. âBecause of your guilt? Or because you want me? Because you want us?â
Jungkook feels the heat rising in his chest, his body tense, his hands balled into fists at his sides. He wants to deny it, wants to tell you that itâs not like that, but the truth is too raw to ignore. Heâs in too deep. Heâs in love with you.
âIâŠâ he hesitates, struggling with the words that seem impossible to say. âI donât know what to believe anymore, Y/N. But I want you. More than anything.â
The words hang in the air between you both, thick with tension. You step closer, the space between you vanishing entirely. Your breath is warm against his skin as you raise a hand to his chest, tracing a line down to the hem of his shirt.
âThen why do you keep pretending like this is all just a mistake?â Your voice is soft now, a little breathless, but thereâs something in it that makes his heart race even faster. âYou know what Iâve done. You know the truth. So why are we still playing this game?â
His chest tightens as he stares into your eyes, the question echoing in his mind. Why are we still playing this game?
Heâs already crossed too many lines, already made choices that canât be undone. Heâs in love with you, and thatâs the only truth he can hold onto right now. But the guilt, the knowledge of what youâve doneâitâs suffocating him.
âIâm here because I donât have a choice,â he says, his voice barely a whisper. âIâve already made my choice. And itâs you.â
You look at him, your gaze calculating, but something flickers in your eyes. Relief? Or is it something darker? He canât tell anymore.
âYou donât have to choose between me and the truth, Jungkook,â you say, stepping even closer until youâre inches apart. âThe truth is⊠we belong together. In everything weâve done. In everything weâll do.â
The words send a shiver through him. Thereâs no going back now. He knows it. You know it.
His hands reach for you, pulling you into him, and your lips meet in a kiss that is desperate and consuming. Heâs not thinking anymore. Heâs not questioning. Heâs just here, with you, drowning in everything thatâs pulled you both together.
When you finally break apart, his breath is ragged, his chest heaving. Your hands rest on his shoulders, your eyes dark with something he canât quite place.
âIâll do anything for you,â he says, his voice hoarse, the words pouring out of him without thought.
âI know,â you reply softly, your fingers brushing against his neck. âAnd Iâll do anything for you too. But we have to be honest with each other now. No more lies.â
He nods, the weight of your words sinking into his bones. Thereâs no turning back now. âJungkook.. you know it was a big skill investigation rate. How did you even convince your department to close the case tell me what did you do.â
He looks at you and smiles
Heâs made his choice.
âOkay fine I will tell you.â
The investigation was closing in, and with each passing day, the walls seemed to close in tighter around Jungkook. The bloodâso carefully planted at Minaâs crime sceneâwas becoming a ticking time bomb, and the pressure to keep Y/N safe weighed heavily on him. His heart hammered in his chest every time the case came up in discussion, and he knew he had to take drastic measures.
He needed to shut it all down. Permanently.
Thatâs when it hit him: a recently discovered body in a nearby district. A womanâpregnant, recently deceased, and conveniently found under suspicious circumstances. She wasnât the killer, but to Jungkook, she might as well have been. He could use her to frame the entire investigation.
When Jungkook visited the morgue that night, the body lay still on the cold steel table, a haunting reminder of the fragile line between life and death. The woman had died under mysterious circumstances, no clear motive, no clear suspect. And with her pregnancy, she was the perfect pawn.
Jungkookâs mind raced as he walked around the body, his eyes lingering on her swollen belly, her pale face, the indistinct bruises on her skin that told a story he wasnât entirely sure he wanted to know. He felt a sharp pang in his chest, the ghost of guilt flickering behind his thoughts. But there was no time for hesitation. He needed this body.
In his mind, he already had a plan.
He would stage the scene, make it look like this woman was the killer. Heâd plant evidence that suggested the woman had been linked to Minaâs deathâtrace amounts of blood, a few fingerprints in the wrong places. A well-placed piece of clothing or object to tie her to the scene. It was risky, but it was the only way to close the case without implicating Y/N.
The morgue attendant, a sleepy-eyed man who didnât seem to care much for the dead, handed him the body without question. Jungkook took a deep breath, making sure his hands didnât shake. He carefully moved the body, knowing exactly what he needed to do.
Hours later, the police were called to a new crime scene. It was the same as alwaysâan empty alleyway with the body of a woman found in a position that suggested something far darker than a random attack. The crime scene looked eerily similar to the previous murders, and thatâs exactly what Jungkook had hoped for.
His mind worked quickly, placing the body of the pregnant woman at the scene as though she had been the one to kill Mina. The blood trail leading away from her. A few well-placed items. The evidence was there, but just subtle enough to make it believable.
The next day, Jungkook presented the findings to the department. His colleagues seemed to buy it without much question.
The body of the pregnant woman, found near the alley where Mina had been murdered, in her own home, was identified as the suspect. The evidenceâthough still sparseâwas enough to back up the theory he had fabricated.
âIâve spoken with forensics,â Jungkook said, standing tall as the room buzzed with suspicion. âThe blood found near Minaâs body and the scene where this woman was found confirms our theory. This woman, whoever she was, was clearly involved. And she was pregnant, which explains her connection to the killer weâve been hunting.â
The room fell silent, the officers looking at each other in confusion. But Jungkook pressed on, pushing the narrative with an authoritative tone.
âShe was part of the criminal network, no doubt. This is why the killer used her. She was a pawn, an expendable figure, dragged into something much larger.â
âBut with her death, weâve finally identified her role. Sheâs the one we were after.â
Jungkookâs voice was steady, rehearsed, convincing. He wasnât just presenting evidence; he was weaving the story.
One of the officers, a sharp-eyed veteran named Park, raised an eyebrow, leaning forward with a skeptical look. âAre you sure, Jeon? This all seems⊠too neat. A little too perfect.â
Jungkook took a breath, pushing his doubts aside. âWe have to tie it up. The evidence is there. It explains everything. And it leads us to believe that the killer is someone who knew how to manipulate the situation. A pregnant woman was used to distract us from the true killer.â
He met Parkâs gaze, holding it long enough to send the message. There was no going back now. He had to make this work.
âąâąâą
After a lot of deliberation, and no further suspicions or clues, Jungkooks lie worked
But there were too many questions now. How far could he go before his lies caught up to him? Would the department ever suspect him, even if theyâd closed the case?
And most importantly, how much longer could he keep this secretâhis secretâhidden from everyone, especially from Y/N?
With the departmentâs approval, Jungkook walked away from the case, his mind heavy with the weight of the lies heâd told. But as whenever he looked at Y/N, the mother of his child, he knew that no matter what it took, he would do whatever it took to keep her from being discovered.
The announcement came in later that day: Case #178-C, the Seodaemun Serial Killings, officially closed.
The case was officially closed. The department was satisfied, the investigation wrapped up, and the media was ready to move on to the next headline. Jungkook, however, couldnât shake the feeling that everything was unraveling. He had used the body of a pregnant woman, a victim in her own right, to save Y/Nâand his own conscience.
And now you two, will be together forever, and it will be your own heaven where no one will ever disturb you both and your growing family.
Everything is fair in love and war after to all
And this was both.
The love stored in his heart and the war of his own conscious, and eventually the love for you and his heart lawn over the war in his conscious.
âSo you see, yn? Start packing your bags. Youâre moving in with me and weâre gonna get married and have a child and live happily ever after.â
He stares at you with a lot of love in his eyes, but thereâs something darker and you recognize it because itâs such a familiar look
A look that you often saw in your own mirror.
You kiss him again and smile against his lips.
You will do anything for him and you know now that he will also do anything for you.
Everything was worth it.
He was always worth it.
And he knows for a fact that youâre always gonna be worth it

; you find yourself hiding out in your apartment as the undead begin walking. luckily, you have a well-trained military operative as a neighbor who is more than willing to keep you safe.
16.5k
âResidents are advised to remain in their homes. Authorities are unsure what is causing the severe aggression in people but the military has been called in nationwide. Please stay tuned as more information becomes available.âÂ
That was the first news broadcast. They reported people getting sick-- airborne is what they had said. Stay inside, and stay away from other people.Â
So you did just that â stayed hidden away in your apartment, glued to your television for every possible news cast that you could get.Â
It was only a week later that the whole story had come out.Â
The airborne strain is what caused the first swell of infections. Anyone who was susceptible to the infection would have already become sick by now. But those who were infected by the airborne strain turnedâŠferal. They became like wild animals, barely human. Their skin rotted around them while they were still alive. Their brains died but their hearts remained pumping. They were walking corpses that had a vicious hunger for human flesh.Â
The bites are what caused the following wave of infections. Something in their saliva turned you into whatever they were.Â
You were scared. When you looked outside your window, down just a few floors to the ground, you could see hordes of people stumbling around, shuffling and shambling.Â
Sometimes you would hide in your bathroom as the sounds of gunfire filled the city. It was the worst when it was the middle of the night.Â
You werenât equipped to deal with a disaster of this level â humans turning into disease spreading killers. You were having to ration your food, waiting for the day that there would be an announcement that it was safe.Â
You wanted it all to be over.Â
Then the news broadcasts stopped, cell service dropped, and the populace was left in the dark.Â
You kept the lights off in your apartment, scared that the wandering hordes outside would see it and find you.
You had no idea how long you had been hiding in your apartment, spending most nights with your knees to your chest as you watched the static on the TV. You held out hope that the news broadcast would come back, but it never did. You spent the days and nights in mundane monotony, hopelessness settling in.Â
The only interruption was a heavy knock on your front door, practically making you jump out of your skin at the sound of it. You hadnât expected anyone to actually approach your apartment in search of you. It terrified you that anyone could be out there at a time like this.
With wide eyes and trembling hands, you grabbed a kitchen knife off of your counter and tiptoed towards the front door. Peeking through the peep-hole, you let out a heavy sigh of relief.Â
Throwing the door open, you were faced with the familiar balaclava of your neighbor across the hall.
âSimonâŠâ you whispered in relief.Â
He wasnât lunging nor did he have the milky-white eyes of the undead that you had seen on the news. He was normal.Â
âWhatâre you planning to do with that?â he asked, eyeing the kitchen knife still in your hand.
âOh!â you gasped, quickly placing it on the table by your front door, âSorry, youâ youâ startled me when you knocked. Would you like to come in?â
His lidded, brown eyes gaze around your apartment behind you before landing on you again, âYou have anyone else in there?â
You blink and slowly shake your head, âNo, Iâm alone.â
His brows furrow at that, âYouâve been by yourself this whole time?â
You shrug and nod, âWhat else was I supposed to do? The news reports said to stay insideâŠâ
He hums, âAre you sick?â
âNo, Iâm fine,â you respond quickly, âWhy?â
Suddenly thereâs a hand on your forehead and you realize heâs checking your temperature. You remain still and allow him to do it before he's shoving his hands in his hoodie pockets.Â
âFeverâs the first symptom,â he explains, âIâm goinâ door to door to check on everyone.â
âOh!â you gasp, smiling, âThatâs very nice of you, Simon.â
You knew that Simon was in the military. He was often out on long deployments and sometimes he had tasked you with keeping an eye on his apartment since you were right across the hall from him.
He was a nice enough guy, if not a little cold and blunt. He was tall and broad, clearly well built despite the fact that he usually wore a hoodie that hid his biceps from view. Youâd gotten glimpses of his tattoos when you had knocked on his door one evening and asked him if he knew anything about water heaters because your hot water had been out for nearly a month in the dead of winter and the apartment manager hadnât done anything to help you.
Simon had kindly come to your apartment, even though it was nearing midnight, rolled his sleeves up and fixed your problem within the hour. You had baked him cookies as a thank you that following weekend.Â
âHow is everyone doing..?â you venture to ask, leaning against the doorjamb as a breeze flows into your apartment from the open door.
He casts a glance down the hallway, almost like heâs thinking before sighing, âFew people are sick. Theyâve beenâŠâ he hesitates for a moment, âQuarantined.â
âProbably for the best,â you respond, âKeep them from hurting anyone when theyâŠturn.â
It feels so surreal to be talking about confining people to keep them from literally eating the healthy people. But it seems thatâs where youâre all at now.Â
âIâm going to barricade our floor,â he says suddenly, âKeep anyone from cominâ in thatâs not supposed to come in.â
âWhat if we need to leave?â you ask, concerned, âWeâre only going to have finite food and resources between us. The powerâs also going to go out sooner rather than later, Simon.â
âI know,â he sighs, âBut we should stay indoors for as long as possible. When the power runs out and we run out of supplies, we can figure out what to do next,â he explains, âThe military was on the ground here last I heard, youâve heard the gunshots. I donât believe theyâll last much longer but itâs not wise for us to go out while theyâre tryinâ to eliminate as many of theseâŠundead as they can.â
âI guess that makes senseâŠâ you whisper before his words finally settle on you, âWhat do you mean you donât think theyâll last much longer..?â
He levels a hard stare at you that makes your heart race in anxiety. Simon was always a serious individual by nature but this is how you imagine he looks when heâs on duty, âHundreds of thousands of people are sick out there. The airborne strain no doubt got to hundreds of the soldiers meant to be protecting the civilians. Eventually, theyâll eat each other from the inside out âliterally.â
âYou mean even the military is going to collapse..?â you ask, horrified. You try not to let the tears fill your eyes but Simonâs words fill you with a dreadful sense of hopelessness.Â
âCommunications are cut,â he says finally, âRadioâs been silent all day. Not sure whatâs goinâ on but itâs not good.â
The tears quickly began to fall down your cheeks. Before you could wipe them away, a calloused thumb was doing it. You sniffled and looked up at him.
âI-I donât know what Iâm supposed to do,â you confessed softly, âI donât know how Iâm supposed to survive, Simon.â
âDonât you worry about that, love,â he whispered, grabbing your chin gently to make you look up at him, âIâll take care of you, yeah?â
âI donât want to be a burdenâŠâ you explain, wrapping your arms protectively around yourself.Â
âWouldnât be the first time I took care of you,â he joked, though it held little humor, âYou wonât be a burden. Iâll teach you what you need to know, alright?â
âYou will?â he nods when you look up at him hopefully and you smile, âThank you, Simon. I donât really want to die by getting eaten by walking corpses.â
He chuckled under his mask, brown eyes crinkling around the edges a bit, âIt is pretty fuckinâ mad, isnât it?â You laugh, the first genuine smile youâve cracked since before that first news broadcast, âWhy donât you come across the hall and stay with me, yeah?â
âIs that okay..?â You canât deny the idea of being with company sounded more appealing than anything. You were definitely beginning to feel the ebbs of loneliness creeping in on you as the days of silence passed. Plus, Simon wasâŠsafe, âThe news said not toâŠmingle in case of the disease spreading.â
He scoffed, âRules like that donât really apply anymore, love,â he mutters softly, âPlus, neither of us is sick so itâs not like weâll spread it anyway. I can teach you some knife work and how to use a gun easier if weâre together, yeah?â
âOkay,â you smile, excitement surging in your chest, replacing the painful void of hopelessness you had, âLet me just get some things together and Iâll be right over, okay?â
âSounds good, love,â you can tell heâs smiling under the mask. He gives you a pat on the shoulder before stepping away, âJust knock when youâre ready.â
You stand in your doorway until he disappears into his apartment. Once youâre alone, you cast a cursory glance around your living room, eyeballing everything you need to take before you dash into your bedroom. From the back of your closet, you grab a duffle bag that you have stowed away in the back of your closet from when you first moved in.
Navigating in the dark of your apartment was a bit of a challenge but you managed to stuff all the essentials into the bag. After slinging it over your shoulder, you step out of your apartment, making sure it was locked before knocking on Simonâs door.Â
He opened it quickly, still wearing the same hoodie, jeans, and balaclava as before â his hood still up as well. He stepped aside for you to enter.
Unlike you, his apartment was illuminated by lamps â but his windows were covered with blackout curtains so no light would seep outside. It was pretty plainly decorated, just the essentials and a few photographs on the walls; upon closer inspection it looked like him and, you assumed, his comrades.Â
You went to place your bag down but he stopped you, âI cleared out a drawer for you to put your clothes in for the time beinâ.â
âOhâŠâ you gaped at him, surprised to hear that he had done something like that for you, âThank you, Simon.â
He led you to his bedroom, standing in the hallway while you walked in. His bedroom was darkly decorated, black out curtains on the windows, navy blue sheets and a black comforter on his bed. His furniture was all dark toned as well.Â
It suited him, you thought.
There were two drawers open and empty, letting you know that those were yours for the taking. You knelt down and opened your duffle bag, carefully folding and placing your items inside. When you got to your undergarments, you cast a glance towards the door to find that he was no longer standing there. Breathing a sigh of relief, you quickly filled the top drawer with all of your delicates before closing the drawers and standing up.Â
Flicking on the light to his en suite bathroom, you placed your toothbrush and toothpaste alongside his, the sight making you blush before you went to add your belongings into the shower as well.Â
Realistically, you knew that the water was going to go out sooner or later but you planned to enjoy it for as long as you possibly could until then.Â
When you ventured into the living room, Simon was in the kitchen, the cabinets open as he scanned over all of his belongings.
âIs something wrong..?â you asked softly.
âThinkinâ of how to ration,â he replied quickly, âHave you got any stuff over at yours still?â
You nod your head, âItâs not much but I have some canned food and like...rice and stuff if you want that.â
âYeah, itâll be good to consolidate all our supplies in the long run,â he explained, âYou got your keys?â
âYes!â you pull your keyring from your pocket and drop it into his open palm.
âIâll be right back love, make yourself at home,â he gave you a gentle nudge towards the couch before leaving you there.Â
You took a seat on the couch, realizing just how tired you were. You hadnât realized how tense youâre been for so long on your own. Now that you were safe and with company, you could almost feel the tension sliding right off of you. You rested your head against the back of the couch and closed your eyes, intending to just rest your eyes and enjoy the peace you felt.Â
You were startled awake by the sound of the door slamming shut. You nearly jumped out of your skin, wide eyes finding Simonâs who looked a little sheepish.
âSorry, love,â he whispered, âDidnât realize youâd be sleepinâ.â
âDidnât mean toâŠâ you confess, standing up and stretching, watching Simon lug a bag of food into the kitchen.
âHavenât been sleepinâ well?â he asked, his back to you as he began to stock up the cabinets.Â
âNot reallyâŠâ with a sigh, you lean back against the counter with your arms crossed over your chest, âIâve been stressed about this whole situation.â
âIt isâŠâ he pauses in his words, placing a bag of dried beans into the cabinet, âNothing Iâve ever seen before.â
âSociety is really collapsing around us, isnât it?â you bravely ask, although you were scared to hear the answer.
âYeah, darlinâ,â his voice is softer than youâve ever heard it and that brings a fresh wave of tears to your eyes.
âThis is so fucked up,â you cry, burying your face in your hands, âThank you, Simon. You didnât have to offer to help me and I really owe you a lot.â
âDonât worry about it,â he closes the cabinet, the bag he brought finally empty before turning to you, âIâll make sure you know everything you need to know to survive.â
âI doubt Iâll be as good as you,â you joke, a crooked, wobbly smile on your face.Â
He steps forward and cups your chin, brushing his thumb against your cheek, âNo oneâs as good as me, sweetheart.â
You chuckle softly at his words.Â
This is what you needed â someone by your side to keep you sane as society collapsed and everyone that you knew died.Â
That night, you slept better than you had in days. Simon had given you his bed, offering to take the couch. You had argued, telling him that you couldnât take his bed like that.Â
âIâm up most nights anyway, love,â he had assured you, âAt least someone around here can get a good nightâs sleep in that bed.â
When you woke up, fully rested you might add, Simon was already awake, drinking some tea. You sat down beside him, enjoying a nice quiet morning.
âHow do you feel about learninâ some basics today, love?â he asked when he was cleaning his mug.Â
âSure!â you agreed, âI have to warn you though, I really know next to nothingâŠâ
âThatâs alright,â he chuckled, waving to you to follow him to the living room, âIâm a good teacher, I promise.â
âI donât doubt that,â you watched as he stood up and went to a closet in the hallway, pulling out an assortment of bags and carriers.
He placed them down beside the couch and took a seat next to you. âI think itâs best if we start with you gettinâ comfortable with the feeling of holding a weapon in your hands,â he explained, pulling out a knife bigger than any youâve seen, âThis is a hunting knife.â
He handed it towards you, his fingers confidently gripping the blade between two fingers. You wrapped your hand around the handle, testing its weight in your hands. It was dangerous and nerve-wracking, holding a weapon in your hands.Â
âI know itâs scary,â he assured, âBut when youâre comfortable holding knives then you can learn to use them properly to protect yourself.â
âWhat about guns..?â you find yourself asking, still gripping the knife in your hands, turning it over and adjusting your grip just to desensitize yourself to it.Â
âWeâll tackle guns when you get used to knives,â he replied.
âSo you have guns?â you ask, letting him pull the hunting knife from your hands.
âOf course I do,â he reaches into a bag by his feet, pulling out a pistol.Â
Your eyes go wide as you watch him handle it effortlessly, checking the chamber and moving it around in his hands like it wasnât a dangerous weapon.
âWhen youâre ready, Iâll teach you to properly use one so you can use it in case of an emergency,â he explained, placing the pistol on the table carefully.
âIâm going to have to kill other peopleâŠâ you mutter to yourself.
Simon pulled out another knife, passing it into your hands, âCombat knife,â he supplied simply, âAnd youâll have to kill them butâŠI donât think theyâre people anymore, love.â
âI guess thatâs trueâŠâ you mutter, holding the knife with a firm grip, âIâve only seen them on the news before it stopped broadcasting. What about you?â
âHavenât seen âem in person either,â he replies with a shrug, âSome of myâŠteammates,â the words seem awkward coming from his mouth but he continued, âWere givinâ me some information before they went radio silent.â
âWhat happened to them?â you couldnât help but ask.
A brief flash of sadness flashed over his eyes but he quickly sobered up, leaning back against the couch with a sigh, âNot a clue. I guess thereâs no way for me to know. I just know it was getting bad. Dangerous.â
âIâm sorry about your teammates,â was all you could find in supply of an answer.
Simon didnât respond, simply letting his gaze fall back on the knife, âLet me show you some handling techniques for you to practice.â
Realizing that he didnât want to talk about the world outside anymore, you let him lead you through a crash course on knife handling and knife safety. He took the time to teach you the different kinds of knives in his possession and you nodded along as best you could but if youâre being honest â it was primarily lost on you.
Youâre not sure if Simon knew that but he seemed to enjoy teaching you, so you let him ramble on to his heartâs content.Â
By the end of the day, you were confident enough in at least not accidentally cutting yourself on the sharp blades.Â
In order to repay him, you made dinner for the both of you â though, really, it was just some heated up canned soup-- and did the dishes for him so he didnât have to.
By the end of the night, you both found yourselves on the couch, watching a movie he had put on. With there being no way to watch anything else, you were grateful he had a collection of movies to his name â you simply streamed your favorite shows and movies and called it a day.Â
It ticked late into the night and before you knew it, you were falling asleep on the couch, leaned against his shoulder. You could feel him shift and knew you should open your eyes, but the tugs of sleep at the edges of your subconscious kept you from doing so. Suddenly, you felt the soft beat of his heart against your ear and the heavy weight of his arm laid across you. You briefly registered that you were now wrapped in his arms before the final tug of sleep pulled you under.
When you woke up, you were in bed.Â
And Simon wasnât in the apartment.Â
âSimon..?â you called, looking around everywhere for him â to no avail.Â
You ventured to the door, carefully pulling it open and stepping out. You looked down the hall towards the stairwell before you heard a grunt of effort from the other end.Â
âSimon!â you called, making him look up.
âWhatâre you doinâ out here?â he asked, pausing in his task of pushing a large bookcase towards the elevator.Â
âYou werenât insideâŠâ you mutter, wandering down the hall towards him, âWhatâre you doing?â
âBarricading this elevator,â he replied, giving the heavy object another push with a grunt of effort.Â
âOh, right, you mentioned you wanted to do that,â you mumbled, taking a moment to look over him.
He wasnât wearing his hoodie for once, instead wearing a tight black t-shirt that was sticking to his skin with sweat. He wore his jeans with a holster and gun on his hip as well.Â
âDo you need any help?â you asked but he shook his head.
âNo, you canât help with this, love,â he grunted, giving the bookcase one final, heavy push before it was flush against the elevator doors.Â
It was then that you noticed the straps nailed to the wall. He took them and secured them to the other side of the elevators, making sure the bookcase was fastened firmly.Â
âEnough people push this and itâll come down but at least itâs secure enough,â he explained, giving his work a final once over.
âDo you know where the others are?â you find yourself asking as he makes his way to the other end of the hallway
He pauses at that, seemingly thinking of his next words carefully, âI checked door to door. Most of our neighbors got the hell out to go see their families when everything went to shit. A fewâŠwere sick and turned in their apartments so I had toâŠput them down.â
You cringed at his wording, you knew he was trying to phrase it delicately for you but you werenât sure if you would have preferred him to just say he killed them. âPut them downâ made it sound like they were rabid dogs and not people you once knew and smiled at in the halls.Â
âFound some notes in some of them,â Simon said suddenly, waving you to follow him back to the apartment â to safety, âGuess we can only hope they made it to their families in one piece.â
âI hope so,â you muttered optimistically, slipping past him when he opened the front door for you.
You quickly realize how difficult it is to tell how much time is passing with Simonâs blackout curtains, which he refused to allow you to open for fear of attracting any unwanted attention. With there being no more news broadcasts or anything on TV, you didnât even know the date anymore and you were too scared to ask for fear of knowing how long youâve been living like this. Your food rations were slowly dwindling but neither of you talked about it.Â
You know youâre still waking up in the mornings and sleeping at night â Simon seems to run on an extremely specific schedule. When you asked him about it, he told you it was from the military, which made sense. Either way, you were grateful to him for helping you keep on track.
The water and power were both still on, but Simon kept telling you not to keep your hopes up about it lasting long.Â
You spent your days learning knife etiquette and practicing stabbing various targets that Simon made for you. Youâve grown much more confident. Of course, you would be no match for your teacher himself but against a bumbling walking corpse? You were sure you would be able to at least buy yourself time to escape if you needed.Â
Eventually, Simon decided it was time to move onto what you were most scared of â guns.Â
âIâm going to tell you a few things before I let you hold this,â he said, eyes hardened to show how serious he was as he held a pistol in his hands, âAre you paying attention?â
âOf course,â you breathe, wringing your hands in front of you as you eye the weapon.
âYou canât be scared of your weapons,â he advises, âYou need to be confident and sure with every movement you make. Itâs not a toy.â
âHard not to be scared of itâŠâ you confess, âWhat if I hurt someone with it orâŠI donât know.â
âThatâs why Iâm teaching you all this,â he says, âYouâll get confident and less scared the more you handle them. Weâre startinâ you off simple and you can build up to bigger and badder guns. For nowâŠpistols will do.â
âOkay,â you swallow around the nervous lump in your throat, âTell me what I need to know.â
âThatâs the spirit,â he praises, holding the pistol up for you to see how he grips it, âFirst, never put your finger on the trigger unless youâre going to shoot. Just rest your finger on the side like this, see,â he turns his hand and lets you see the way he keeps his finger hovering beside the trigger rather than on it.Â
You nod your head, âGot it.â
âTake it,â he says, âCarefully.â
You stare at the offered weapon for just a moment before you reach out and delicately take it from his hands, âNext, never point it at anyone you donât intend to shoot. Whether itâs loaded or not, keep it pointed away from people and yourself.â
You mimic his grip, grimacing when you realize it's actually much heavier than you thought it would be. It was definitely going to take practice before you built up the ability to hold it for long periods. You follow his instructions and keep it pointed to the ground â albeit awkwardly.
âHere,â he suddenly steps behind you.
You feel your heart catch in your chest when you feel him press against your back. Heâs incredibly warm and firm as you lean against him. He carefully takes your hands in his, supporting your hands and holding the gun eye level.
âJust practice lining up your sight and lookin at a target,â he says.
His face is so close to yours, his voice right in your ear, deep and gravelly with that heavy accent. You struggle to process his words, hoping to god he doesnât hear how fast your heart has started racing.
You close one eye and focus on aiming at a photo on his wall, a small picture frame. His large, gloved hands dwarf your own and youâre suddenly overwhelmed by the scent of him. He smells like cigarettes and the body wash you may have taken a quick whiff of when you used his shower for the first time. You find yourself wondering when he has time to smoke since youâve never actually seen him do it.Â
Your mind is blank beyond anything other than him. How big and warm he is, how safe you feel with him wrapped around you, how good he smells and how much you love his voice as he utters tips and commands into your ear â sickly sweet in that way he always seems to talk to you.Â
If you focused too much on it, youâd slowly come to the realization that you may have a crush on him. But you quickly dash that thought from your head and focus back on his gun lesson as he teaches you how to eject a magazine with ease.Â
This is about survival. Neither of you have time to dwell on a silly crush.Â
A few days later, youâre standing in the eerie hallway with him. He had offered for you to just stay in the apartment and relax while he did the work but you honestly didnât want to be alone so you opted to sit with him as he worked.
Your back was against the wall, sipping a cup of instant coffee you had made. Simon was silent as he worked on barricading the door to the stairwell. You both agreed that it was best if it was still accessible just in case something happened, but you didnât want any unnecessary visitors making their way into the safe little haven youâve both made for yourselves.
âWe should think about looting the empty apartments,â you said suddenly, trying to keep your eyes off of his bulging biceps as he yanked on a strap that was attached to the doorknob to keep the door from being opened.Â
âThatâs a good idea,â he grunted, stepping back to admire his handiwork when he finally finished testing its durability, âLetâs do it.â
He offered his hand and you smiled, taking it and letting him pull you to your feet. You brushed off imaginary dust in an effort to hide how flustered just holding his hand for that brief second made you.Â
You started at the other end of the hallway from your shared apartment. Simon displayed a disturbing aptitude for opening up very locked doors. You chose not to comment on it, instead silently being thankful that he was able to do it at all.Â
âHow about we make a loot pile in the hallway so we can bring it all inside when weâre ready?â you suggest.
âAlright,â he responds, eyes scanning over the cabinets in the kitchen, âFood is our main priority but it wouldnât hurt to have some medical supplies.â
You agreed and started helping him pick things out, filling your arms full of canned goods and pill bottles which you then deposited in the hallway by your apartment.Â
The two of you made it through a handful of apartments, securing a nice resource pile for the two of you. You were feeling good, hopeful, as you stared at your future right there in the silent hallway.
It wasnât until you opened one in particularâ it belonged to a shy, college kid, you rememberâ that it seems everything changes for you. He couldnât have been but 18, away from home for the first time and living in his first apartment on his own.Â
Simon is busy looting the kitchen, you can hear him placing cans on the counter, consolidating whatever it is he chooses to bring with him. You check the bedroom, looking through the drawers and pocketing a bottle of aspirin and nausea medication before you move to the bathroom.Â
The second you push open the door, youâre met with the force of another person shoving into you. You cry out as you hit the ground, the person falling on top of you. You panic and scramble out from under them, their coughing and wheezing forcing you to look at them.Â
Itâs the kid who lives there. Heâs deathly pale, dark circles under his eyes which are bloodshot. His lips are crusty and dry, seemingly struggling with finding something to say.
âPl-â he starts to whisper before you see movement in the corner of your eye.
âSimon, wait!â you cry when you see the knife.
But itâs too late, the hunting knife you had held with your own two hands more times than you could count, is embedded in the kids skull, spraying blood all over you. All you can do is make a pathetic squeak, fear and panic rendering you unable to say anything as you watch his now lifeless body flop onto the ground beside you, his still warm blood soaking into your clothes as it runs out of the gaping hole in his head.
âThe fuck were you thinkinâ?!â Simon suddenly shouts, storming over to you and yanking you to your feet roughly.
You stumble up, bumping into him as you stare at the dead body on the floor, âHe..He was aliveâŠIâŠâ
âHe was sick!â Simon snarls, roughly wrapping his hand around your throat, forcing you to look at him. There was a fire in his eyes that you hadnât seen before, making you cower, âYouâre lucky he didnât bite you! Fuckinâ hell, are you stupid?!â
âH-He was talking, he was just sick, Simon!â you argued, tears filling your eyes as you stared up at him, âW-We could have given him medicine, could haveââ
âHe was a dead man walking,â he shouts, the volume making you flinch, âHe was going to turn. Are you a fuckinâ idiot? Thinkinâ we could save him?â
The tears you were holding fell down your cheeks at his cruel words and you glared up at him, âI-Iâm not stupid, I justâŠh-he talked to me!â
âIt doesnât matter,â Simonâs eyes narrow, âHe was a threat. A liability. Donât fuckinâ worry about him, worry about yourself.â
He releases you with a rough shove, taking out some of his anger on you. He continues to glare at you for a long minute before turning his back on you and stalking out of the room, muttering about how stupid it was that you could have killed yourself over some random kid.Â
Your eyes fall on said kid, no more blood coming from the wound, simply coagulating on the floor around him, âY-Youâre a monster.â
The words come out of your mouth before you can stop them, quiet and shaky. But Simon hears them clear, freezing on the other side of the doorway, in the hall.Â
âIâm a monster..?â he asks, voice suddenly eerily calm. He turns around, his large body taking up an obscene amount of the doorway. You can tell heâs intentionally trying to intimidate you, a punishment that makes your cheeks heat up in anger, âIâve been breakinâ my back to keep your stupid ass alive and Iâm a monster? Because I put down some fucker that was gonna turn rabid in a day?â he glares at you, squinting through the mask and drawing his dark eyebrows together, âYou think itâs easy for me? Iâm doinâ everything I can to keep you safe!â he shouts so loud that your ears ring and you flinch from the sound alone, âBut if you canât appreciate that then maybe you should be on your fuckinâ own and see how long it takes before youâre ripped apart by those feral bastards!â
He storms off at that, loudly slamming the front door, indicating his final exit from the apartment. You hastily wipe the tears from your cheeks only for more to replace them and you sniffle, casting a sorrowful glance at the dead kid before creeping out of the apartment yourself.
Simon is nowhere in the hall but the supplies you both gathered are still there.Â
You carefully open the door to Simonâs apartment and peek inside, finding it completely silent and still. Youâre not sure where he went but you decide to busy yourself with loading all your looted items into the kitchen and sorting them all for when he returns.
Youâre not sure how long you take to finish but Simon still isnât back and you become worried.
He had said you should be on your own but surely he didnât actually just leave the building, did he?
You wander over to his supplies and find a handful of his weapons gone. Your heart shoots into your throat and more tears prick at your eyes before youâre dashing out of the apartment once again.
The door to the stairwell is no longer held shut, indicating that Simon had, in fact, gone that way. You curse yourself. If you had checked sooner then he would have at least been somewhere close but if he really left, he would be long out of the building by now.Â
You creep towards the door and slowly push it open. You hadnât even left the floor since before this whole thing started. It was eerily quiet, but if you listened close you could hear some muffled shuffling from somewhere.Â
You crept out, quickly realizing how dark it was. You pulled out your keychain which held a tiny flashlight that you used to navigate when it was dark in the apartment.Â
You crept down the stairs, holding your breath with every step until you finally reached the floor below you. You can hear muffled sounds from beyond the door and slowly push it open, flashing the light down the hallway.Â
It's too small and weak to penetrate the stifling darkness. The power was not on on this floor for some reason and that immediately set you on edge. You could still hear some shuffling and strange, raspy noises from within the darkness.Â
âSimon..?â you call into the impenetrable, oppressive darkness. The noises stop for a moment and you swallow around the nervous lump in your throat, âSimon?â you call again, louder.
The noises return, shuffling, heavy footsteps advance on you. You strain your eyes to see past the weak illumination that your flashlight provides. Youâre breathing heavily, you realize, anxiety making your lungs feel constricted as the footsteps get closer and closer.
All of the sudden, a disgusting, rotted face appears in your sights, arms outstretched towards you. You scream out in unbridled terror as it grabs you, its bony, sickening fingers latching onto your shoulders. You attempt to push it away and run but you trip over your own two feet in your panic. Your flashlight flies out of sight, its dim illumination casting down the hallway, leaving you to push at the undead corpse as it collapses on top of you. Its weight is more than you thought it would be, leaving your arms trembling as you struggle to keep it from falling on top of you. It fights your resistance and chomps its disgusting teeth at your face, attempting to get a bite out of your flesh.Â
It reeks, you realize, like the smell of a dead animal you pass by on the street. It makes your stomach turn and you fear youâre going to throw up from the smell alone. The rotting skin of its chest slips and pulls away from the bone and muscle and you gag, tears coming to your eyes as you realize the very real and terrifying danger youâre in.
You have no way to get out of this.Â
As you look down the hall, where the light barely pierced the inky depths, you can see more figures emerging from further down the hall, shuffling and rasping in interest at your fight with the one on top of you.
Tears fall down your temples and a sob bursts from your chest as you slowly come to terms that this is how youâre going to die. You canât hold the sheer weight of the undead above you for much longer.
âS-SimonâŠâ you call out, weak and strained. You know even if heâs nearby he wonât hear you. You have to try harder, get your voice out, shout for him. You swallow around your tears and panic, taking a full breath before shouting, âSimon! Please! Simon, help me!â
You donât even register the door opening behind you. But you do notice when the weight of the corpse is gone, a knife stabbing into its skull before a large hand grabs you by the back of the shirt and drags you back into the stairwell. The undead follow after you, slamming themselves against the door as soon as it slams closed.Â
Youâre trembling and unable to blink or breathe as the shock of what just happened washes over you.Â
âWhat the fuck were you thinking?!â Simon all but screams, grabbing you by the front of your shirt, dragging you onto unsteady feet that canât hold you up before slamming you against the wall. You can still hear those zombies slamming against the door. Your ears are ringing and you barely register Simon shouting at you.Â
He shakes you and it finally draws your attention to him. His eyes are wide, irises darting back and forth over your face. He doesnât look nearly as angry as you would expect. Instead he looksâŠconcerned. Scared.
âSimonâŠâ you whisper, the tears not stopping as they fall down your cheeks. Heâs the only thing holding you up right now, hands balled in the material of your shirt, keeping you pinned to the wall, âI-I wasâŠI was looking for youâŠâ
Heâs panting, shoulders rising and falling as he struggles to compose himself, âLookinâ for me?â
âY-You said you were leaving and IâŠâ you whimper, âI-I didnât want you to go soâŠI went to find youâŠI didnât think thatâŠâ
You see his jaw tense through his mask before he slowly lets go of your shirt. Your knees tremble under your own weight and your hands find purchase against his chest.
âFuckinâ hellâŠâ he mutters, stepping away from you with a heavy sigh, âJust donâtâŠdo that again, got it?â
You nod your head, sniffling as you feel your tears slowly come to a stop, âTh-Thank you, SimonâŠfor saving meâŠâ
âYeah,â he grunts, turning his back to you, storming back up the stairs to your floor.Â
You unsteadily follow behind him, still a shaky and anxious mess. When you get into the apartment, Simon is in the kitchen, barely sparing you a glance.
âGo take a shower,â he orders you.
You linger in the doorway for a moment, hoping that heâll look at you even for a second. But he doesnât and you hang your head, skulking off to take your shower with a heavy heart.Â
The night rolls around and Simon hasnât said a word, putting you more on edge with each passing minute. He sits, manspreading on the couch with a glass of Kentucky bourbon in a glass, sipping on it and watching some old movie that he put on play. Usually, he asks you if youâd like to watch with him, but this time he didnât and that just makes your heart ache even more.Â
âSimonâŠâ you venture to ask, casting a glance at him. His hard gaze doesnât move from the TV, âI-I want to apologizeââ
âFor what?â he asks, the first words heâs spoken to you in hours. Theyâre cold and make you wince.
âF-For what I saidâŠâ you mutter, tucking your legs underneath you as you turn to look at him, âIâŠI was mean. I know youâre doing all you can for me and it wasnât fair of me to get angry at youâŠI was justâŠstartled, I guess.â
âYou were naive,â he snaps, finally looking at you with a harsh glare, âYou had no fuckinâ idea what those monsters were and you almost got yourself killed because of it.â
âY-Youâre rightâŠâ you whisper, feeling the tears pricking your eyes for the millionth time that day, âIâm sorry, Simon.â
He doesnât respond, simply throwing back his glass of bourbon, downing it all before he stands up, âSleep on the couch.â
The last thing you hear from him is his bedroom door slamming shut. You lay down that night, quietly crying into the pillow until you finally fell back asleep.
âWake up!â a barking voice is what draws you out of your slumber.Â
Still shaken up from yesterdayâs previous events, you sit straight up, wild, fearful eyes looking around before your gaze falls upon Simon. He stands in front of the couch, dressed in full tactical gear. Even his balaclava is different, with a hard plate in the shape of a skull covering the front. He looks intimidating.
âWh-Whatâre you doing?â you ask, turning yourself so your feet are on the floor.Â
âWeâre traininâ, get up,â he commands and you have no choice but to follow.
You find yourself following him out of the apartment and into the dimly lit hallway. Itâs eerily quiet as always and you feel more intimidated than ever standing before him in nothing but some flimsy pajamas while he wears full gear. Even his gaze is different through that skull mask, hard and cold, looking down at you like youâre insignificant.Â
Itâs so different from before. He was so kind and patient with you before and you can tell that now heâs going to really train you.Â
âWhatâre we doing today..?â you timidly ask, wringing your hands in front of yourself.
âEscaping,â he responds.
âEscaping?â you parrot back dumbly.Â
His glare narrows down at you, âYouâre going to try to get away from me and make it towards that exit.â
He points to the other end of the hallway, to the stairwell. You glance up at him, where he stands between you and your exit.Â
âOkayâŠâ you lick your lips nervously, âDo you want me to just run past you?â
âFor now,â he drawls. He sounds almost bored, hands wrapped around the straps of his tactical vest.
You take a deep breath and attempt to bolt past him but his reflexes are frighteningly fast. His arm shoots out before you even realize it, catching you around your middle and halting you immediately.Â
The air is punched out of your lungs from the force of his arms and you stumble back with a groan.Â
âYouâre goinâ to have to do better than that,â he says, looking down his nose at you like you had offended him with your poor attempt.Â
You brace yourself again and attempt to run past him. This time, you attempt to fake him out and run in the other direction but it ends the same with his arm grappling around your middle and you still not any closer to the exit.
âAgain!â he barks and you canât help but wonder if this was how he was when he was training recruits in the military.Â
You try again and again to run past him, duck under his arm, avoid his reach â everything to no avail. After several attempts, youâre left panting and frustrated. Simon is still as cool as a cucumber, staring at you in pure boredom as he awaits your next move.Â
You run again, making rough contact with his arm once again. But this time you start fighting against his hold. You push with all your might, shoving at his arm and his side in an attempt to slip past him.Â
âThere you go,â he says, though it sounds more condescending than proud, âFight me.â
You slam your fist down over his arm, successfully knocking it out of the way and giving you a chance to bolt past him. You have a clear view of the stairwell door and you can almost taste the success.Â
But youâre stopped suddenly when a rough hand grabs the back of your shirt. You cry out in shock when he yanks you back towards him, carelessly tossing you to the floor. You hit the rough carpet harshly, the coarse material skinning your hands and knees and you cry out at the pain.
âSimon!â you chastise him, glaring up at him when he comes to stand in front of you, âThat fucking hurt!â
âOh, it hurt?â he sneers, squatting beside you, behemoth form still dwarfing your own as he gets down on your level, âItâs not supposed to feel good. This is training. Youâre supposed to try and survive, not whine and cry because you fell on the floor.â
You sit on your burning knees and glare at him. He glares back at you, neither of you backing down.Â
âGet up,â he commands, standing up, âGo again.â
By the time he allowed the training to be called off, your body was sore and bruised from the amount of times youâd been thrown to the floor. Your knees burn and ache from where the skin had been rubbed off and you fight back tears as you watch the dried blood crust on your skin.Â
Simon is no more rough for wear than he was before â all your hitting, kicking, pushing, and biting hadnât deterred him in the slightest. He wasnât even winded.Â
Worse more, you hadnât made it anywhere near the door.Â
You werenât sure how Simon felt about it. If he was mad or disappointed, he didnât say. As soon as you got into the apartment, he went about making dinner after ordering you to wash up.Â
When you got out of the shower, he tossed a first aid kit to you and silently sat down in the kitchen to eat.Â
Usually, you would sit with him but you found yourself deciding to eat on the couch by yourself. A sense of loneliness settled upon you that you hadnât felt since before you had moved into this apartment with him and you find yourself hiding your tears in your food.Â
Once again, youâre sleeping on the couch. You wouldnât have minded it if it didnât feel so much like a punishment. You felt like a dog banished to sleep in the dog house and you canât help but curl in on yourself at the cold, empty feeling that it causes.Â
The next morning follows much the same with Simon startling you awake with a barked order. Your body aches and your wounds sting with every movement you make as you drag yourself behind him to the hallway.
âDo we have to do this again today, Simon?â you ask hopelessly, âIâm really tiredâŠâ
âDo you think those undead freaks are going to care if youâre tired?â he snaps at you, arms crossed, making him appear even bigger than he already was, âYouâre goinâ to learn how to escape from holds.â
âSimonâŠâ you start to complain but a sharp look from him has the words dying on your tongue and you hand your head in defeat.Â
Heâs no more gentle than he was yesterday with you, rough grips and manhandling you around to fit his needs. He barks in your ear, ordering what you need to do and when to break various holds that he has on your body.Â
He feels so much stronger and more powerful than those zombies had. At least they were mindless and slow. Simon was fast and smart.Â
âPut your hand under mine to break the hold!â he shouts, clearly frustrated the more you fuck up breaking his holds.Â
âNot like that! Are you daft?â he grits through clenched teeth, âYouâre goinâ to fuckin wind up dead if you keep this up!â
You feel your heart rate speed up and you find yourself almost panicking under his completely oppressive energy. His shouting only sets you more on edge and the tears begin to prick at your eyes once again.Â
âNone of those fuckinâ tears,â he snarls, tightening his hold on you when you squirm and attempt to rid his body weight off of yours, âDo what I told you! You can break the hold if you just fuckinâ focus!â
âSimon, I-I donât want to do this anymore!â you cry, the tears tumbling down your cheeks as you cry out the words. Your cheeks feel hot and you can barely catch your breath as you weakly punch at his chest.
âThereâs no tappinâ out,â he snaps, tightening his grip on you even more. Your body aches where he holds and you know youâre going to be feeling those bruises for days to come.Â
âSimon!â you practically screech, freeing one hand and harshly slamming your fist down over the hard faceplate.Â
It seems to startle him enough into loosening his hold and you manage to kick back away from him in your panic, foot hitting him square in the chest in an effort to propel yourself away â putting as much distance as fast as you can between the two of you.
âSimonâŠâ you whimper, voice wobbling, âI am not one of your soldiers. You need to stop trying to train me like I am!â
You watch him adjust his jaw through his mask before he pops his neck. He doesnât say anything, just stares at you and every hair on your body stands up in pure fear.Â
Heâs on top of you before you even have the chance to say another word. You cry out when the force of his body forces you back and your head cracks harshly against the floor. Your vision blacks out from the force and you groan in pain but he doesnât stop, a rough forearm pinning against your throat, cutting off your air.
âThat was good,â he says, voice cold and devoid of any emotion, âYou managed to escape, now do it again!â
Your hands push weakly against him, but youâre worn out and your head is starting to hurt like hell. You open your mouth to say something but his hold on your throat ceases any words from escaping.Â
You reach up to his face and his cold gaze narrows at you, âYou already tried that. It wonât work again.â
But instead of hitting him, your fingers wrap around the face plate and you attempt to push it off â hoping that itâll obscure his vision enough but he shakes you off with ease.Â
He catches your gaze and what he sees gives him pause. Wide, teary eyes, red rimmed and filled to the brim with fear. Tears wet your cheeks and he finally notices the way your entire body is tense and trembling beneath him.Â
âP-Please,â you finally find your voice when his weight eases a bit off of your throat, âI-I donât want to do this anymore, Simon, please.â
That has his own eyes widening and you take his slackened hold as an opportunity to run away. He watches you scramble up from your spot on the floor and stumble back to the apartment, disappearing within with a slam that makes him flinch. He looks down at his own hands and finds that he canât conjure up any thoughts that arenât about you.
You hear him enter the apartment, his heavy footfalls pacing around the living room. Youâre hiding in the bathroom, leaning against the door with your knees against your chest to muffle your cries.Â
He enters the bedroom and pauses, no doubt looking for you before he approaches the bathroom and you feel a brief ping of fear that heâs going to open the door but instead he softly knocks.Â
âWill you come out so we can talk?â he asks, voice holding none of the cold, harshness that it had for the last few days.Â
âG-Go away, Simon,â you sniffle.
You can hear him sigh before he follows your request and steps away from the door. You can hear him linger in the bedroom for several more minutes, kicking his boots off before heâs quietly closing the bedroom door and leaving.Â
The silence and loneliness sinks in once more and you find yourself sobbing into your knees all over again. Your head kills and you feel almost nauseous through your cries from the headache but you canât stop yourself.Â
You have no idea how long you cry for but before you know it, the bedroom door opens once again and you can hear the floorboards creak under his weight as he approaches the bathroom door once again.
âI made something for you to eat,â he says through the door, âFigured you might be hungry.â At the idea of food, your stomach growls, âItâll be waiting for you at the table when you want it.â
You listen to him walk away and you know this is his way of luring you out of the bathroom. Part of you desperately wants to spite him for being so mean to you and refuse his food but the growling in your stomach is too much to bear and you canât help but clamber to your feet and quietly pull the door open.Â
When you reach the living room, Simon is facing the TV, giving no indication that he realizes youâve come out of your hiding place. You sneak into the kitchen to see a bowl of soup sitting nicely at an empty spot. You take a seat and quickly devour the entire bowl, barely taking a break to breathe before itâs completely empty.Â
You place it in the sink and carefully sneak back out of the kitchen, intending to slide right past him but in your haste you fail to notice that heâs no longer sitting on the couch. Instead, you come face to face with him sitting at the foot of his bed, clearly waiting for you.Â
You freeze when you see him and all too soon that headache comes racing back to the forefront of your mind.Â
Simonâs no longer wearing the skull plate and instead wears his usual black balaclava with the skull print on it. He wears a t-shirt and sweatpants, obviously having let himself get comfortable while you hid in the bathroom earlier.Â
He looks up at you the second you step into the room and the two of you halt in a stalemate, simply staring at one another while you wait for the other to make the first move.Â
Youâre the first to break eye contact when a heavy throb goes through your head, making you close your eyes and bring your hand to your head until it passes. You hear the bed creak when Simon stands up before his hands are cupping your cheeks.
âYou hit your head, didnât you?â he asks, soft and gentle.Â
You canât stop yourself from glaring and snapping, âNo thanks to you.â
His gaze softens as his hand finds its way to the back of your head, ever so softly prodding at the sizable bump thatâs there, âIâm sorry, love.â
âIf youâre sorry then why did you do it?â you find those damned tears returning all over again as you continue to glare up at him, âI told you I didnât like it and I wanted to stop.â
âI knowâŠâ he whispers, hands once again cupping your cheeks, thumbing your tears away.
âWhat was your problem, Simon?â you tearfully ask, sniffling pathetically, âYou hurt me. You were scary â scarier than those stupid zombies downstairs. Why did you do that?â
âI gotâŠI wasâŠâ he struggled to find the right words before he stepped away from you with a troubled expression, âI was angryâ scared. I justâI donât know.â
âYou were scared?â you scoff, âIâm the one who got attacked.â
âYou think that wasnât scary for me?â he asks in disbelief, âYou almost got eaten alive on my watch.â
âYou sure have a funny way of showing it,â you sniffle, angrily storming over to the bed, letting yourself flop down on the comfortable mattress for the first time in days.
âI know,â he whispers, âJust let me explain, okay?â
You lay there silently, listening to his weight shift where he stands. You take notice of how his scent lingers much more on the blankets now that heâs slept on it. It smells good, you note, musky and delicate. He doesnât wear anything that smells particularly overpowering.Â
âIâm sorry,â he says again, âEver since this shit happened, Iâve been driving myself crazy. I lost contact with my team, my friends. Iâm not able to get anymore information on what's goinâ on outside. Iâm worried about you, Iâm trying my hardest to make sure you can go out there and survive on your own if you need to. I feel like Iâm going crazy and Iâm scared because Iâve never felt this out of control before.â
You sit up and turn to face him, âHow long have you been feeling like this, Simon..?â
âA while,â he mutters, turning his back on you when your gaze starts to feel like too much, âAnd then you called me a monster and I justâŠâ he trails off, seemingly unsure of how to explain his feelings properly.
âIâm sorry for that, Simon,â you mutter sincerely, reaching out to grab his arm, urging him to turn around, âI never should have said that. And I didnât mean it, really.â
âWell, you were right, werenât you?â he scoffs, âI am a monster. Fuck, look at what I did to you â how I treated you. I was punishing you and I never should have.â
âWe both made mistakes,â you compromise with a wobbly smile, âWeâre dealing with a lot, right? The fucking world is ending and weâve been trapped in this godforsaken building for who knows how long. Itâll get easier.â
He stares at you for a long moment, lashes fluttering as his gaze softens. You canât find it in yourself to break eye contact. After a long moment, he seems to decide on something before reaching up and yanking the mask covering his face off.Â
You feel your breath halt in your chest as your eyes widen, taking in every inch of his newly revealed face. His soft, brown eyes are a juxtaposition to the rest of his ruggedly handsome face. You stand up, never letting your eyes stray from him, a feeling of pure awe coming over you.
âYouâre so handsome, Si,â you whisper, reaching forward to brush your fingers over a scar that cuts through his eyebrow to his eyelid, âItâs nice to finally see you.â
âI wanted you to see the real me,â he whispers, âNot the asshole soldier I was.â
âIâm glad youâve trusted me with this,â you let your fingers wander along his skin, feeling the stubble on his jaw that he hadnât yet shaved.Â
âI need to tell you,â he sounds breathy, reaching up and catching your hand in his, pressing your palm flat against his cheek, âI was so scared when I heard you callinâ for me. I thought I was goinâ to be too late and Iâd watch you die. I was terrified that I would lose you.â
âSimonâŠâ you whisper in awe, watching how his soft, brown eyes display every tumultuous emotion that he experiences, âIâm sorry. I wonât do anything to worry you again.â
âI want you by my side for as long as youâre able,â he whispers, throat moving as he swallows.
âI wonât go anywhere,â you agree, stepping closer to him, âI promise.â
He leans in at the same time as you, meeting you for a sweet, tender kiss. It lasts only a second before youâre both pulling back to look in each other's eyes. Then, youâre both surging forward for a hungry, heated kiss.Â
His hands grip your waist, squeezing there as he deepens the kiss. You whimper under his touch, standing on your tip-toes to match the intensity of his kiss.Â
He moves you backwards, your knees hitting the edge of the bed, causing you to topple down. Simon follows, catching himself on his hands on either side of your head. He only breaks the kiss for a moment to move you further up the bed, easily manhandling you so your head is in the pillows before heâs kissing you all over again.
His hands are rough as they travel over your body, slipping your shirt up just enough to let him touch your bare sides. You quickly realize youâre still wearing your sleep clothes and that you donât have a bra on.Â
Clearly, Simon was aware because his hand quickly cups your bare breast with a rough, callused hand. His thumb finds your nipple, flicking over the bud as you whine into his mouth.Â
He pulls back suddenly, cheeks flushed before heâs fumbling with the hem of your shirt.
âArms up, sweetheart,â he coos, sickly sweet.Â
You follow his orders and eagerly lift your arms up for him to tug the fabric of your shirt over your head. Once your breasts are bared to him, heâs leaning down to wrap his lips around one perked nipple while his fingers busy themselves with the other.
You cry out at the feeling of his teeth nipping at the sensitive bud, hands tangling in his soft, curly hair. He groans against your breast at the feeling of your pulling at his hair before he pulls back just a bit, breathlessly whispering, âSuch perfect tits.â
âSimonâŠâ you whimper, letting yourself relax into the bed as he switches to mouth at your other nipple, leaving the other to harden in the cool air before his hand travels down your stomach to your shorts, easily slipping underneath the fabric.
âSimon!â you call out again when you feel the heat of his hand cup your folds through your panties.Â
âShh, just let me do the work, love,â he mumbled, muffled by the fact he refuses to part from suckling on your nipple.Â
His tongue drags over your breast, nipping and sucking marks into your skin. As he works the muscle, his hand in your panties remains stationary, just letting you feel the heat of it against your core. The teasing presence only makes you pulse and drool into your panties. Youâre positive the fabric must be sticking to you by now from how wet youâve become from playing with your breasts.Â
âYour tits are so sensitive,â he mumbles, almost to himself, âDoes it feel good, darlinâ?â
âYeah,â you breathe, arching your back to offer up your chest to him all over again.
He grins, a crooked little smile that makes your heart flutter. It was so nice to finally see him smile.Â
But instead of mouthing at your breasts again, he leans back on his heels and pulls his hand from your panties. You whine at the loss but itâs cut short when he hooks his fingers into them and tugs them down your legs. You lift your hips to assist him but find yourself wincing when an ache goes through your body.
He notices and gently runs the palm of his hands up your thighs, urging you to relax.
âYou sore, love?â he asks, voice filled with what you can only call guilt.
âA littleâŠâ you admit, biting your lip, âMy thighs are killing me, actually.â
He shakes his head at himself and leans down, pressing a kiss next to the scrape on one of your knees as his hands slowly begin to knead the sore muscles in your thighs. You sigh and let your eyes flutter at the feeling.Â
With your eyes closed, you donât realize he leans down until you feel a hot, wet tongue slide from your pubic bone to your sternum. Your cunt clenches pathetically at the feeling. When you open your eyes, Simonâs pretty, brown eyes are half-lidded and his tongue hangs out of his mouth. You canât resist cupping the back of his head and pulling him for a kiss, whimpering and moaning against his mouth.
âFingers or tongue?â he asks, muffled and messy against your lips.Â
âWhat?â your hazy mind canât quite comprehend what heâs asking of you.
âDo you want my fingers or my tongue?â he reiterates, âI want to make you cum.â
You whimper at that, âB-Both!â
He scoffs, full brows furrowing, âGreedy.â
You find yourself blushing at that but he doesnât deny your request. He sinks down your body, peppering kisses down your body on the way until he kneels on the floor at the foot of the bed.Â
He grabs your hips and effortlessly yanks you down so your legs hang off the edge of the bed.Â
He spreads your thighs apart and you find yourself holding your breath, watching through your lashes as he trails kisses up your thigh, getting closer to where you want him the most. Youâre trembling under his attention and it makes you clench pathetically around absolutely nothing. Youâre sure he can see the way your cunt drools and leaks with every small kiss he peppers against your skin.Â
Just when he gets close, he pulls back and kisses back down towards your knee. The teasing has you wound taut, feeling as if youâre almost on the edge without him ever properly touching you.
It feels like hours that he does it, kissing up and down your thighs. Occasionally, he nips at the skin there, swirling his tongue over the burning marks he leaves behind to soothe the sting. Finally, he moves his hand and you think heâs going to finally give you something but all he does is spread your folds apart with two fingers, exposing your hole and clit to the cool bedroom air. The action makes you whine but he pays you no mind.Â
He carries on kissing your thighs and nipping at your skin. No matter how much you rut your hips, hoping to entice him into touching you and giving you what you really need, he ignores it. He ignores your whines and the cries of his name, ignores the way your cunt clenches and drools around nothing, clit twitching from how much teasing youâre enduring.Â
The little bud aches, throbbing as it begs for anything â any little touch that he has to offer. He could blow air upon the nub right now and youâre sure you would explode in pure pleasure.Â
When you sob his name, broken and needier than youâve ever heard yourself, he finally looks up. His eyelids are heavy, concealing half of his iris and it makes him look positively fucked out.Â
âLook at me,â he commands, licking his lips slowly, âRight in the eyes, let me see you properly.â
You force yourself to meet his penetrating gaze, almost struggling to compose yourself. You find yourself trapped in the eye contact, almost paralyzed under his intoxicating gaze. He holds you there for what feels like minutes but in reality is probably just a few seconds.Â
His fingers finally hone in on your clit, pressing against the twitching, hardened bud. You cum immediately, still locked in that intoxicating eye contact. You cry out, hands slapping against the bed as he draws the orgasm out of you with slow circles on the little bud, sticky clicking sounds filling the room and mixing with your wild cries of pleasure. It seems like the high never stops, more and more cum gushing from your cunt and dripping down to stain the comforter beneath you.Â
Simon watches you with keen attention, taking in every expression you make as he makes you cum against his fingers, the bud throbbing wildly until the orgasm finally dissipates.Â
When you finally sag against the bed, your thighs fall completely open as the post-orgasm exhaustion quickly hits. Youâre left trembling and twitching through the aftershocks, pretty pussy still drooling with every clench of your walls.
Simon takes the opportunity of you coming down to strip himself. He tugs his shirt off over his head and lets his sweatpants drop the floor, carelessly kicking them away. His gaze never leaves you, never leaves that twitching little cunt between your legs.
Thereâs a slick film of your cum coating your folds and his mouth fucking waters.Â
Your eyes fly open, not even realizing that you had closed them, when he suddenly cups the back of your thighs and pins you wide open for him.
âSimonâŠâ you pathetically coo, reaching down to tangle your fingers in his hair when he comes within reach.
âSo sweet for me,â he coos, kissing your thigh once again and youâre scared that heâs going to tease you all over again, âA good orgasm got you nice and sweet, huh?â
âMhm,â you mutter, dazedly looking at him as you feel his breath on your sensitive cunt.Â
That alone makes you clench around nothing. You nearly whimper out loud when you see his tongue fall from his mouth, glistening with spit before he licks a slow, wide stripe between your folds.Â
When he comes back up, he holds his tongue out and lets you see the creamy mess of your cum left behind. He makes a show of swallowing every drop in his mouth, making your cheeks flush in pure embarrassment at such a lewd display.Â
You had no idea Simon would be so fucking filthy in bed but the way his eyes roll back at your taste tells you all that you need to know.Â
He loudly slurps your clit between his lips, swirling his tongue around the sloppy bud as he whines and groans into your cunt. You tug harshly at his hair at the overwhelming feeling of having your clit doted on so expertly.Â
His hands keep you pinned open, allowing him to slip his tongue inside you, occasionally taking a moment to visibly swallow every drop of your slick so you can see the way he absolutely savors your taste.
He swirls that offending tongue around your clit again, slurping it back into his mouth before two fingers are prodding at your entrance. You clench against him, the excitement of finally being filled with something making you whimper. Just the sound of you so eager makes him almost want to cum completely untouched.Â
Your cum generously coats his face and he absolutely loves it. He pulls away suddenly, dark eyes locking onto your face as he pants from how lost he was in eating you out. He slowly presses two fingers inside you, letting them slide in, hugged by the plushness of your walls.
âYouâre so fuckinâ wet, love,â he coos, moaning sympathetically when you cry out from the feeling of being stretched on his fingers, âAnd so warm too, fuck.â
He decides, in that moment, that he doesnât care if the world is ending outside, he feels nothing but bliss with you. He never wants this to end, he wants to get completely lost in the pure intoxication of you.Â
He leans down, flattening his tongue against your clit once again. The feeling is heightened now that heâs got his thick fingers stuffed inside you. You clench around him at the feeling of his tongue on the sensitive bud once more.Â
He suddenly crooks his fingers and your legs helplessly kick in the air at the overwhelming feeling of him pressing and prodding against that gooey little spot inside you. Your hips rabbit up and you practically wail at the overwhelming sensations heâs attacking you with. You squeal his name so sweetly before he finally backs off a bit, letting you sink back into the soft cushions of the bed.
Heâs completely drunk off of you, off the creamy cum you gush out for him to lick up, off the lovely sounds you let out from how good he makes you feel. His cock is so painfully hard and he wants so badly to wrap his hand around himself but he knows heâll blow his load the second he does, so he refrains.Â
To distract himself from the ache in his cock, he doubles his focus on you and making you feel good. His fingers crook upwards again, prodding your g-spot again with renewed vigor. You cry out, your eyes rolling to the back of your head when he sucks your clit into his mouth, the suction making your thighs tremble.Â
âI-I wanna cum!â you cry out, fingers still tugging harshly at his hair.Â
He groans against you but doesnât dare to part from you, too focused on bringing you to your high to actually goad you into it. His fingers move inside you, fucking you nice and deep, making sure heâs working that sweet little spot inside you as he continues to suck on your clit.Â
It doesnât take long before your entire body stiffens and you toss your head back. The choked out cry is music to his ears and his own eyes roll back when he feels the way your walls tighten around him, soaking his fingers generously. Your clit throbs in his mouth before he releases his suction on it, instead choosing to lick the pulsing little bud with the flat of his tongue to gently ease you through the high.Â
Youâre pushing his head away long before heâs ready to part but he willingly backs off nonetheless. His chin is wet with your cum, even dripping down his neck and the sight makes you flush. Thereâs a loud, squishy noise when he slowly pulls his fingers from the hot clutch of your cunt.Â
âScoot back for me, darlinâ,â he commands you, slurring a little before he pops his fingers into his mouth, sucking them clean of the mess you left behind.Â
You do as he says, shakily pushing yourself back so you can lay your head in the pillows. With Simon standing at the foot of the bed, you finally get the chance to take a look at him.Â
Heâs obviously incredibly well built, broad and firm in all the right places. Most notably, he has numerous scars, some that looked like bullet wounds and others that were long and thin.Â
âAre all those from the military?â you find yourself asking as he carefully crawls onto the bed, jostling you as the mattress moves under his weight.
âYeah,â he breathes, leaning down to press his lips against yours.
You let him handle your body as he pleases, spreading your legs so he can comfortably situate himself between them. His cock, hard and heavy, rests against your folds and you find your eyes going wide at the sight of it.
âSomethinâ the matter?â he chuckles, like he can hear what youâre thinking.Â
âThatâs not going to fit,â you breathe, unable to tear your gaze off the twitching, fat length of him.
ââCourse it will, love,â he breathes, pecking your lips again, letting his lips trail down over your jaw, âI worked you open real good, all you gotta do is relax and let me in.â
With a minute adjustment of his hips, the tip prods your entrance. He grips the base of his length, carefully pushing forward, mouth dropping open as he feels your hot, wet walls spread around the head of him.
âThatâs it, sweetheart,â he grunts, âJusâ let me do the work.â
Your hands fly down to grip his forearms, nails biting harder into the skin there the deeper he sinks into you. The middle of his cock is the fattest, giving you an almost painful stretch that makes your face pinch up in a way that Simon doesnât like.
He brings one hand to his mouth, licking his thumb before carefully pressing the digit against that sensitive bud. You whimper at the feeling, cunt clutching tight around him, easing more of his length inside. He circles your clit a few more times, watching your face for any clear signs of discomfort. Before long, his hips meet yours, filling you absolutely full to the brim in a way no one ever had before.Â
He plants both hands on either side of your head, abandoning your clit in favor of simply rutting his hips against yours. His large body hovers over you, shielding you from anything outside of him and you find yourself completely lost in everything that is him â how full he makes you feel, how nice he smells, how safe you feel trapped beneath him like you are.Â
Your hands wind around his neck, pulling him down so his chest presses against yours. Your breasts squish against his chest and he finds his eyes flickering down just to look at them. The sight makes you smile despite yourself â itâs cute, you think.
Tangling your fingers in his soft curls once again, you bring him down for a kiss. Heâs still slowly, carefully rutting his hips against yours, his lower abdomen sliding against your clit as his cock stirs inside you, stretching you and hitting every sweet little spot inside you.Â
You whimper into his mouth, gasping at the way he makes you feel so full and good while he barely does anything. Your knees bracket against his ribs, squeezing him so tightly you wonder if it hurts but he just continues to kiss you and circle his hips.Â
âWanna feel you cum around me,â he whispers, barely parting from your lips to request it, âJust like this, cover my cock. Be good for me.â
You knew you wouldnât be able to disobey even if you wanted to. With the way he stirs you up and drags against every tender spot inside you all while grinding against your clit the way he is, you donât stand a chance. Your third orgasm creeps up on you and your back arches just as it washes over you.
Simon groans at the feeling of you cumming around him for the first time â the tight, wet clutch of your cunt feeling better than he ever could have dreamed. As he watches you writhe in his bed, moaning and whimpering his name, heâs overcome with a plethora of feelings that just melt his heart.Â
He canât resist pulling you in for another kiss, cupping your jaw as he pulls his hips back until just the head of his cock remains buried in your cunt. Youâre still working on coming down from the orgasm he just gave you but heâs greedy â he wants to feel it again. He wants to fuck the orgasm out of you, make you ride it out and gush all over him.
He needs to show you how good he can be for you, hoping that this alone can get across just how much you mean to him. Heâs never been the best with words, so he can only hope that this is enough for now.
Your hands press against his chest, aimlessly pushing at him from the overwhelming way he fucks you. Youâre so sensitive, pushed into cumming more times than anyone had ever made you before. But he doesnât show any signs of slowing or stopping. Heâs a machine, built for stamina and heâs on a fucking mission now â to make you feel as good as he possibly can.Â
Youâre attempting to push him away, to give your poor, overstimulated body a chance to come down. But heâs having none of it.Â
âHands off, love,â he commands breathlessly. But you just stare up at him with dazed, teary eyes, panting and sweaty. He clicks his tongue, âYou ignorinâ me, sweetheart?â
He grapples your wrists in his one hand, pulling yours away from his chest and pinning them above your head. He uses this new hold as leverage to really fuck you, pulling back and sinking back in as deep as he possibly can. His tip kisses your cervix, making your thighs tense up at the twinge of pain that comes with having him so deep.Â
But the pain mixes so addictively with the pleasure that you find yourself getting completely lost in the slow, deep rhythm that he sets. Every time he sinks balls deep, his hips slap against yours and he rubs up deliciously against your clit. The pleasure on your bud doesnât last long before heâs pulling back again, never allowing you to fully build up to another delicious high.Â
Simon is lost in the way you whimper and whine. He can swear that heâs never heard anything as incredible as you being denied the pleasure he had been so generous with so far. He likes the desperate look in your eyes; it makes him feel amazing to know that you need him to make you feel good. Heâs in charge of your pleasure in that moment and he finds himself relishing in that feeling of control over you.Â
You look so sweet beneath him, pinned and helpless with teary eyes looking up at him. Your pupils are blown wide from the pleasure his cock brings you as he continues to fuck you nice and deep.Â
Usually, Simon is a fast and rough kind of guy, but he finds himself thinking that he could definitely get used to a pace like this more often. As long as itâs you thatâs underneath him.Â
It doesnât take you very long to break, those pretty tears falling down your cheeks as you breathlessly plead with him, âPlease, Simon,â your voice cracks so cutely, âI want more!â
He chuckles under his breath and leans down, pressing a tender kiss against your temple before whispering, âWhatâs stoppinâ you from takinâ more?â
That seems to set you off. Youâre bracing your feet on the bed, rutting your hips, rocking yourself against his cock. A moan rips from his chest at the sight of you using his cock like that. His heavy balls press against you and the feeling makes his cock throb, making him realize how badly he needs to cum. But he doesnât want to give up this little show youâre putting on for him so soon.Â
Youâre so, so wet that he can feel how your messy little cunt squishes around him. You shamelessly soak every inch of him the more you work your own pussy on his fat cock. You tug your hands free from his grip and heâs left clenching the pillows in his fist when he watches your fingers descend.
He thinks youâre going to go for your clit, to push yourself over the edge like you so deserved for being so good for him. But instead, you reach for your own tits. The breath punches out of his lungs as the sight of you meanly pinching and tweaking your nipples as you continue to rock yourself against him.
Simon feels his balls tighten at the sight and he almost thinks heâs going to cum but he suddenly pulls his cock out. You wail in complete misery at the loss, tearfully watching him wrap his hand around the base of his cock, pinching off the impending orgasm.
You flop back down onto the bed, sniffling pathetically as you glare at him for ruining the orgasm you were so beautifully working yourself up to. He smiles crookedly at you, cupping the backs of your knees, crudely pinning them to your chest so your pretty, wet cunt is open and vulnerable to the way he suddenly stuffs himself back inside.Â
With you completely pinned beneath him in a press, you canât do anything except cry out and wail in pleasure as he finally fucks you fast and hard. His balls slap lewdly against your ass, your arousal dripping off of them.Â
His eyes are locked on the way youâre stretched so wide around the girth of him. Youâre creaming around him, a milky ring left in your wake every time he pulls out. He doesnât give you much chance to breathe or collect yours, simply fucking you with everything he has. Itâs loud, wet, and fucking messy.Â
âF-Fuck,â he chokes on the word, voice breaking as it comes out. Heâs so close that it hurts, âPlay with yourself for me, love, rub your clit.â
Your hand flies down to do as youâre told without a second thought. It only takes a few, quick circles around the hard little bud before youâre cumming with a cute little squeal. Your feet kick helplessly in the air, toes curling from how hard you cum around him.Â
Simon groans at the sight and feeling of you losing yourself on his cock. You continue to swirl and tap at your clit, forcing yourself to cum harder and harder until youâre squirting around him with a choked off sob of his name.Â
Simonâs hips never still or falter, fucking you fast and deep to work you through the orgasm. Your cum splatters across his hips, thighs, and chest. It makes his eyes roll up into his head before he lets his head fall back. His jaw opens and he moans, loud and deep as his own orgasm finally washes over him.Â
His pace falters as you lay there twitching and crying, a few trembling thrusts of his hips as his cock spits rope after rope of cum inside you. He cums longer and harder than he has in a very long time. He continues with short, aborted little thrusts on his sensitive cock as he continues to cum.
Even when the orgasm dissipates, he finds himself fucking into the creamy mess drooling out of your twitching cunt.Â
âS-Simon-!â you choke out, nails clawing down his shoulders, âS-Sensitive!â
âI know, love,â he pants, almost deliriously, âJ-Just one more. G-Gotta fill you up again.â
You canât do anything but lay back and let him use your cunt as he works to force another orgasm out of his overstimulated cock. Heâs gasping and whining as he moves his hips, pulling his cock out only to stuff it back inside. A mixture of your cum and his drips down, soaking his cock, pelvis, and balls. Itâs a heady, lewd mess that he canât bring himself to worry about now but he knows itâll be a pain to clean up later.Â
Youâre trembling and twitching with every one of his movements, tears dried and new on your cheeks. He feels a pang of remorse for you, youâre tired and overstimulated but he just needs to wring this one last orgasm out and then heâll let you rest.
âYou can be good for me, huh?â he coos sweetly, âJust be sweet and let me, fuck, use this pretty little cunt, yeah?â
âY-Yeah,â you whimper, nodding your head as your eyelids flutter in exhaustion.
Simon leans down, pressing his lips against yours. You both get lost in the kiss, with your arms wrapped around his neck. He loves how it feels to have you stuffed on his cock while your pretty, sweet body twitches and trembles beneath him. He knows it probably hurts by now and the fact youâre just laying there and letting him use you like this has him reaching his second high.Â
He chokes on a moan, gasping as he cums for the final time. Itâs much more lackluster than his first one but he still fills you up just like you both needed. His cock twitches almost painfully inside you as he slowly rocks his hips, wincing at the overstimulation.Â
After a few, still moments, he pulls his length free from the soft plushness of your cunt and rolls off of you. Youâre both panting, laying on your backs on the bed as you come back to yourselves.
Youâre the first one to move, rolling onto your side and wrapping yourself around him. Simon finds himself smiling when he feels the sweet way you snuggle against him, seeking his comfort automatically.Â
You start shivering, the mess of cum and sweat on your body causing you to become cold. He urges you to sit up despite your protests.Â
âLetâs take a shower and sleep,â he offers sweetly, supporting your shaky body to the bathroom.
He continues to support you and hold you close through the shower. He finds himself grateful that thereâs still hot water because you both certainly need it after such a messy tryst in his bed.Â
Youâre the first to fall asleep, tucked against his chest with your arms wrapped around him like a little koala. His hand strokes up and down your back, just staring into the inky blackness of his bedroom.Â
Part of him feels like itâs all a dream, to have someone so sweet tucked against him, offering him comfort and feeling safe as they snooze peacefully. A sense of fierce protectiveness washes over him as he finds himself going through plans in his head â what the future may hold.
Heâs torn from his thoughts when you shoot up from your deep sleep with a gasp. Your head wildly turns, looking around the room. His hand finds purchase on your back, making you jump before relaxing immediately in recognition.
âBad dream?â he asks, tugging you gently to lay you back down against his chest.
âYeah,â you whisper, âI dreamt that I was trapped with them in that hallway again.â
He hums, pressing a kiss to the top of your head, wrapping his arms tightly around you to make sure you feel secure. You go still for a long time and he thinks you fell asleep again but then you ask him a question that surprises him.
âWho are those people in the photos?â you quietly question, âIn your living room.â
He hums, rubbing a rough hand up and down your shoulder and arm, âMy teammates. Friends, I guess.â
âYou guess?â you chuckle.
âYeah,â he breathes, âTask Force 141; Captain John Price, and Seargets John âSoapâ MacTavish and Kyle âGazâ Garrick.â
âSoap is a silly name,â you comment, grinning up at him, resting your chin against his chest, âWhat about you?â
âLieutenant Simon âGhostâ Riley,â he responds with ease.Â
âDo you know where they are?â you ask.
Itâs an innocent question but it sends a pang of hurt to his chest. If he were a weaker, less trained man, he may have felt tears pricking his eyes, âI donât know,â he pauses for a moment before continuing, âI was in contact with Soap when everything started goinâ to shit. Lost contact with him though. Heâs a tough bastard though, Iâm sure heâs fine somewhere out there. I donât know where the other two were or are.â
âIf theyâre even half as good as you, Iâm sure theyâre all fine,â you offer optimistically.Â
Simon hums again, reaching a hand up to brush a stray flyaway off of your forehead. His big hand cups your cheek, stroking his thumb over your lips which you offer a gentle kiss against.Â
âAll Iâm worried about now is you,â he confesses softly, âAs long as youâre safe, Iâll be happy. Iâll do anything to make sure youâre okay.â
âI am,â you smile, laying back down to nuzzle against his chest, âIâm okay as long as youâre here.â
He wraps his arms around you again and closes his eyes, letting himself sleep peacefully with you held safe against him.
Itâs not even a week later that youâre sitting on the couch with him, peacefully watching a movie with a full belly after cooking a quick dinner with him, that you hear a loud, mechanical thump and youâre plunged into complete silence and darkness. Your heart jumps and races in your chest, mindlessly grappling onto Simonâs arm as he sits still beside you.
âWhat happened?â you ask, whispering as if youâre scared to speak any louder.
âPower went out,â he responds, not sounding the least bit perturbed, âKnew it was cominâ. Waterâs probably out now too.â
âWhat do we do?â you ask, the tremor of fear in your voice practically breaking his heart.Â
He stands up and you whimper in fear when heâs out of your reach. You can hear him moving around in the dark before a bright, blinding light lands on you.Â
âWe canât stay here for much longer,â he responds, âWeâll have to move out and find somewhere with more resources.â
âHow long have you been planning this?â you ask, getting to your feet to follow him down the hall to the bedroom.
âEver since the news stopped reportinâ,â he responds, grabbing a large backpack from the closet, âLetâs pack up.â
You linger beside him and he looks at you with a raised brow, âIâm scared, Simon.â
His gaze softens and he walks up to you, cupping your cheeks tenderly, âI wonât let anything happen to you,â he promises, âWeâre goinâ to go out, find a small place to hunker down. Weâll look for a generator or a vehicle and get somewhere safe. You trust me, donât you?â
You nod your head, âOf course I do.â
âGood,â he smiles, kissing your forehead, âNow take this backpack and fill it with whatâs left of our canned food, alright? Iâm goinâ to pack everything else we need, donât worry about a thing.â
He offers you a flashlight, which you gratefully take and click on. Youâre glad that he gives you an easy task to focus on. You take the smaller backpack he offers you and make your way to the kitchen. You only have about 5 cans of food left and you carefully place them inside the bag before opening the refrigerator to pack a few full bottles of water that you have stored in there. You make sure to toss in a can opener just in case before you place the backpack on the couch.Â
Simon emerges from the room with the large, military backpack slung over his shoulder.Â
âYou get it all?â he asks, taking a seat to shove his boots onto his feet.
âYeah and a couple water bottles,â you respond, approaching him slowly.
âThatâs perfect,â he praises, looking over at you, âYou should go get dressed. Jeans and a hoodie. Put your sneakers on and make sure theyâre tight, got it?â
You nervously do as youâre told, disappearing into the bedroom to quickly dress yourself under the flashlight. You can hear Simon moving around in the living room, heavy boots thumping against the floor with every step he takes.Â
You toss the hoodie over your head and make your way back to Simon, who stands in the living room, looking out the window. The sun is just beginning to come up over the horizon, casting a dim amount of sunlight to come through.Â
He turns to look at you when he hears you approach.Â
âThere you go,â he hums, pulling the hoodie up over your head and tightening the strings, âKeep your neck covered. Weâll find you some better clothing somewhere along the way.â
You nod your head and take a glance over his shoulder out the window. You can barely see the ground from your position but you can see people shuffling around on the streets below. A pang of fear goes through you as you realize that theyâre most definitely not normal people â the streets are crawling with those undead freaks.Â
Simon leads you to the door and unsheaths a weapon for you â a machete he had taught you to wield with relative ease. You grip it in your hands, nervously twirling it around until you find a comfortable position. Simon nods his head and pulls out a combat knife, holding it low at his side before opening the door.Â
The descent to the lobby is relatively easy, you walk over the undead that have already been taken care of in the stairwell.
âI took care of these already,â he explains without you even having to ask, helping you jump over a pile of 3 zombies at the foot of the stairs.Â
âYou got more kills under your belt than me,â you comment, mostly in jest to lighten your mood.
Simon huffs under his breath, slowly pushing open the door to the lobby, âYou have no idea.â
You squint and turn off your flashlight when you step into the well lit lobby. The sun is now above the horizon, allowing you to see with ease once again.Â
Simon remains in front of you, making your way to the double front doors. You peek around him, heart racing in your chest as your grip on your weapon tightens.
âAre you ready?â he asks, casting a glance over his shoulder.
âNoâŠâ you confess, shuffling closer to him.
âEverything will be okay,â he promises firmly and you actually believe him.Â
When he pushes open the door, the groans of the undead fill your ears and you find your eyes darting frantically around the streets that you can now see with terrifying clarity.Â
Hundreds of undead swarm the streets, stumbling and groaning as they shuffle around aimlessly in search of food. Simon reaches down and takes your hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. You know itâs going to be the fight of your life but with Simon by your side, you have faith that youâre going to make it through and find somewhere safe together.
