I just read that asking someone how they are is rhetorical; my mind is blown. Is it really rhetorical? I’m so confused.
We’re at the ER for my wife (again for possible seizures) and a new nurse came in. He was wearing a scent or used a strong soap or detergent. My wife asked him to step away as she started coughing and turning red. I tried to explain that any strong scents can trigger anaphylaxis, but he didn’t understand. I just asked for a new nurse for her.
Luckily we aren’t here for a MCAS flare, but it almost turned into one of those visits.

What the fuck
So recently I have learned that neurotypical people are not aware of things like the following at all times:
How their clothing feels
Their body odor
The taste of their saliva
The hum of electronics
What. The. Fuck.
I don't understand that at all
To me sensory issues are like my chronic pain. I can let it fade into the background a lot of the time but it's always there
Like I am always fucking having to deal with it and other people just don't?
What the fuck!
I wasn’t prepared to cry again so soon!
Your future self is hating you for the poor decisions you’re making today.
We celebrated Christmas Adam yesterday by decorating stockings and playing board games!

This morning while I was getting ready I was watching Sesame Street.
They were doing this bit where some clown was trying to wash his hands but kept washing his feet or his elbows and Elmo would go, “no mister noodle, your HANDS!” and all the tv kids would laugh.
Around the fourth or fifth time he couldn’t find his hands, I heard a grown man yell from somewhere else in the motel, “GODDAMMIT, MR. NOODLE.”
There are so, so many of these that as an individual post, it would be ridiculously long and I am just too lazy to write them all out at once, so I’m just gonna keep adding to this.
back when the spotify wrapped playlist of 2018 came out, i was confused to find the mission impossible theme song at the top of my list. until i remembered. halloween 2018. i had work and my job required me to walk around a lot. i basically just took laps through a building filled with people. for hours. so i got this idea. i dressed up as a secret agent, a low key and professional costume. but i added a twist. i put the mission impossible song on repeat, set it to the lowest setting possible and put my phone in my pocket. and so the entire day i walked around, slowly driving people insane bc they kept hearing the faint music of mission impossible but when they tried to find the source i was already gone. i paused it whenever i paused walking so no one would figure out it was me. they even asked me if i’d heard it. i acted confused. it took them hours to figure out what the hell was going on and knowing i caused such chaos still fuels me to this very day
