I think that they could have perfectly inserted a building at one point that was a hospital and in front of it a statue or even a plaque that says that KATARA participated in its founding, a hospital in republic city or in the south pole. Something as minimal as that would have been enough to honor her as the woman she is. It wasn't even necessary to put up a statue, they could say that there is a hospital with his name and that would have been enough.
