The myth of pinch-to-zoom: how a confused media gave Apple something it doesn’t own
In 2007, Steve Jobs stood on stage, listing the benefits of Apple’s then-new iPhone touchscreen. “You can do multi-finger gestures on it,” he said, moving his hands back and forth in the now-familiar pinch-to-zoom motion. Then he paused, and his expression changed. “And boy, have we patented it.” The crowd laughed and began applauding as the word “Patented!” appeared on the screen behind him.

Video games are what inspired me to be a programmer today. Nintendo was the largest part of that inspiration. It's inspired the music I make, how I think, how I see things, and a lot more. (Some of the biggest being the Kirby series, GameBoy Camera and Pokemon Gold and Silver) When the Nintendo DS came out I was excited as hell to get around to hacking it to learn the in's and outs of the thing and someday code a licensed game for it or whatever the future Nintendo thing was going to be. When Nintendo released the Wii and mentioned "Blue Ocean Strategy" as apart of what influenced their business decisions I quickly grabbed up a hard cover copy of the book and read it multiple times (even later bought a digital copy). So... R.I.P. Satoru Iwata Thank you
Inspiration. Someone out there sells bags of air for a living and has likely made millions off of it.
