also i just figured out how to draw eyes I'm so happy

im so glad i was able to add funky colours to the skin without it looking weird and mucky like in the past lol

seeing the improvement from just a month ago is WILD (anyone remember that old eye I drew??)

i think i've also just gotten more comfortable with the blend brush

OCs i made when I was 10 (we're moving up from age 9!)

crazy to see how much things changed in terms of character design in just one year, they became so much more complex

colour wise, i was still an amateur lol, I had to change the colours slightly for some of these characters to make them look more unified cuz I was still just putting every single colour in all my designs

patterns went even crazier this is the SIMPLIFIED version of the designs so imagine what the originals looked like

def was my armour era boy everyone had armour i rarely made "normal" OCs

space era is exciting ngl i love drawing aliens and getting loose with it, I don't have to constrain myself as much I can just do whatever I want

its so funny cuz you can tell that I LOVED colour like the bad guys are literally the ones who are all grey and monotone (those two guys are good now tho)

the 3 ppl in the image that includes the red alien (and the blue alien) are the main OCs of a comic I made in 4th grade the plot is INSANE like actually ridiculous its so crazy it almost becomes satire

when ppl ask me where i get my income... the ground is my employer I'm jobless allowance-less always have been, lowkey leeching off my family but I have to finish my education first its not my fault

i made this doodle in like five seconds but I accidentally made it look so sad I feel sad looking at it

it's me when i put ice cream mochi out to thaw but then I forget about it and it becomes all soupy and I then I have to eat ice cream soup

i had trench foot this morning cuz I wore wet socks and shoes for 7 hours after the absolute INSANE storm yesterday... my feet hurt so bad it was like stepping on fire why nerves gotta be like this

my best drawings are my five second silly doodles with no sketch, just pure and raw expression

erm i had a LOT of fun haha i kind of went over the top, I wanted to emphasise the expression and scariness lol

i'm really proud of the shading and colouring I think it looks great

I spent 4 hours on just this simple bust that's way too long but I think it was worth it I really like how fun this is

i lied that it might take some time, "slow" to me is like a day I just draw really fast 😭 also lowkey trying to get in the mood for artfight (I've been saying this for months even though it's not at all close to july I just wanna keep my skills sharp so I can aim for two attacks a day)

Hello! You commented on something I posted in the art critique community, and since I don’t really want to flood that space with asks about the same thing, I figured I could ask here, since you have a post saying you like doing critiques?

Since this is just a base drawing, I haven’t done textures and shading yet, but I did adjust some anatomy bits (including the sets of hands you pointed out) and made the foreground characters larger, but I’m not sure if the perspective is much more obvious.

Of course, I’d like to hear about other things you think I should revise. Thank you :)

person in suit at the top's hair is really close to touching the purple light person in the dress, its called a tangent when two objects are touching like that and it messes with differentiating foreground and background. i think it would be important to either make it clear that the characters on the bottom and the characters on the top are separate, or to make them overlap a bit so we know which ones are in front.

i know you havent done shading yet, but when you do, you should consider making the characters in the bottom brighter so we know that they are in front. also, theres a blue gap on the bottom of the image (its a yellow gap in the first image and blue in the second image) that you should probably fill with clothing or something because it's negative space and inadvertently draws the viewer's eye to it.

i think the drawing overall looks a bit dim, especially the characters which are meant to be the focal point. i HIGHLY recommend turning the image to greyscale and seeing how you can make things stand out more that way. its a strategy i use all the time, and even when your image is blurred and in greyscale, you should be able to see many different values and understand whats going on in the piece.

honestly, this is something you dont have to follow, but you could push the perspective even more and make the characters in front even bigger and the characters in the back even smaller. but then some of the characters would be less visible, so thats why this is just a suggestion.

also the background text/constellations should be much brighter/thicker, at a glance i cant see it at all and it just looks like negative space.

this is something i do A LOT in my drawings, but it really helps, and that's to add a gradient to the background making the bottom of the grey background part darker would help push contrast and make the characters stand out even more, I've just done it in my most recent artwork, it works wonders.
