Thanks @underacalicosky for tagging me! This'll be so much fun! ππππ I'm going to use obikin for my responses (to no one's surprise).
π enemies to lovers or friends to lovers - I love both of these so much. I think I'm going to have to go with friends to lovers, but I love them bickering so that's gotta be part of the friendship too. There's just something about everyone else around them knowing that they're in love with each other (though I also really love that in an enemies to lovers fic).
π coffee shop au or flower shop au - I love a coffee shop au! I love Obi-Wan going to a coffee shop for his tea fix just because there's the cute guy (Anakin, obvs) who always takes his order and draws little doodles on his cup. Or an Obi-Wan who, again, doesn't really like the taste of coffee but he loves the smell so he's actually really good at managing the coffee shop he owns that Anakin basically lives in. I will say, though, that Calico had a really good argument for a flower shop au in their post. So in that spirit, imagine a flower shop au where Anakin hates flowers (so me, that's why coffee shop will win every time for me) but applies for a job at the flower shop he passes on his way to campus when he sees the help wanted sign, all because he's had a crush on the hot owner (Obi-Wan) since it opened. A few months into Obi-Wan finds out that Anakin hates flowers and asks why he applied in the first place. Anakin's brain shorts out and tells him the truth. They date (and fuck) about it.
π hurt/comfort or there was only one bed - Only one bed by a landslide. I'm in a place in life where, if I had to choose, there would be little to no hurt in anything I read.
π found family or partners in crime - I love these both so much, but I'm going to have to go with found family. I'm obsessed with Obi-Wan and Anakin being Ahsokaβs dads, and found family just means so much to me in general.
π canon compliant or canon divergent - Has to be canon divergent because obikin deserves a happy ending. There can be compliant stuff there, but I need that happy ending.
π fluff or angst with a happy ending - I'm going to have to go with fluff. I can get through angst with a happy ending, but depending on how much angst and if it's all posted or if I have to wait and stew on it until an update it's actually really hard for me. I probably sound like such a weenie. Lol.
π 1st person POV or 3rd person POV - 3rd person for sure.
π soulmates or forbidden love - I love a good soulmates/soulmark fic! So soulmates.
π roommates or fake dating - Calico cheated so I'm going to, too. Roommates who are fake dating is also my answer. π€£
π slow burn or meet-cute - I'm all about that meet-cute!
π love triangle or polyamorous relationship - If I had to pick one I'd go with a poly relationship, but neither are really my thing.
π royalty au or magic au - I love a royalty au!
π high school/college au or neighbours au - I'm going to cheat again and say a neighbors au where Anakin's in college, or they're both in high school, or Anakin's in high school and Obi-Wan's in college, or something.
π mutual pining or idiots to lovers - I honestly kind of think they're the same thing. But I'll go with idiots to lovers.
I have no idea who's already played, but my no pressure tags are: @loycspotting @starpains @unspuncreature @kingdomvel @kenobisrightboot

@loycspotting
I randomly decided to look through the DVDs today and I saw this gem! Here's to the beginning of my Ewan McGregor movie collectionπ» @palfriendpatine66
Made my first MCR necklace last night!
I chose the song Disenchanted because it's one of my favorites. I also felt like it's something different, like, not what you'd expect for MCR jewelry/kandi.
At first I wasn't sure if I loved it. I have synesthesia (and a weird brain in general) and I wanted to make the necklace match the colors of the song. Inevitably I got a bit overwhelmed playing around with the beads and getting them in the best order I could. Why is this such a big deal to me? The world may never know lol. But the more I look at it the more I like it. And I can now say that I'm very proud of it.
Initially, I was going to have the D-I-S be black letters and the rest be white. I felt like that would be unique on its on own AND THEN I realized that the word "dead" could be spelled inside "disenchanted" and I felt like that was super MCR coded so I went with that. That's what I'm most proud of. π
We made it to our last movie of 1996 and boy, is it a good one!
Some fun facts before we begin!
Pete Gunn has a minor role in the movie as the character Simmo. You might remember that he worked alongside Ewan in the movie "Blue Juice"!
While the movie takes place in the village Grimley, the story is actually inspired by the mining village Grimethorpe whose pit was closed just three years before the movie released.
The Grimethorpe Colliery Band performed all the band numbers in the movie.
Ewan's character plays a tenor horn in the band. I think it's a fun fact because when Ewan was a teenager, he played the French horn!
Genre: Comedy/Romance
Rating: R
Director: Mark Herman
Starring: Pete Postlethwaite, Tara Fitzgerald, Ewan McGregor
Synopsis: "Brassed Off" is about the 1980s pit closures in the United Kingdom. It takes place in Grimley, a coal mining village, that is next on the chopping block to have it's colliery shut down. The village is also home to the Grimley Colliery Band which has existed for 100 years and the characters are all part of. But with the possibility of the pit closing comes the possibility of the end of the band for good. Band leader Danny (Pete Postlethwaite) challenges the men to fight one last time to win the National Brass Band Competition in London. When Gloria (Tara Fitzgerald), a former resident of Grimley, makes a surprise return to the village, she joins the band and sets out to bring hope to the weary miners.
Ewan Review: Ewan plays the character Andy Barrows, a coal miner and member of the local band. Andy is initially excited to be reunited with Gloria as the two had a former romance. However, when he learns why Gloria has been keeping her return a secret, he becomes unsure whether he can trust her or if they were ever meant to be. Ewan wears an earring in this role and speaks with a Yorkshire accent. His character is broody so expect a lot of scowls which is a change of pace from his many smiley characters. He has an implied sex scene and a makeout scene. His acting, along with the rest of the cast, gets an A+ from me!
Screentime Percentage: Ewan is on screen for a grand total of 26/107 minutes making his SP 24%.
To Ewan or not to Ewan: Is the movie worth watching for Ewan alone? No. He already doesn't have much to do in this movie and he's part of an ensemble cast so the story is spread out over several different characters. Honestly, I found myself more interested in other storylines than his. He's good when he's on screen and is nice to look at but this just isn't a Ewan content heavy role. Is the movie worth watching in general? Absolutely! This movie has an amazing story, the actors have great chemistry, the music is phenomenal, and you get to learn in an intimate way about an important time in history. I can tell you that before watching this movie I didn't know anything about the miner strikes or pit closures. Now, I'm reading up on the history!
Warning before watching: There is a suicide attempt scene.
Where to Watch: "Brassed Off" is available for rent on YouTube, Fandango at Home, and Amazon Prime Video. You can also watch it for free on soap2day.
Closing Thoughts: This movie so creatively weaves together a story of anger, depression, and hope. The characters are fleshed out and feel real. You hurt for their plight and root for their fight. The movie has a bittersweet ending. I applaud the director, Mark Herman, for sharing with the world the harm done to the miners of the U.K. and their perseverance through it all.
What a fun game! I love it! I agree with most of these headcanons. Now I wanna do one! π
Warnings: Very vague mentions of violence? If you squint?
Summary: SFW alphabet for Alex Law, from Shallow Grave.Β

A - Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
Alex never really shows affection in the conventional or typical sense. Heβs not particularly one for PDA, such as hugs in front of others or kisses in public. Heβll lay with you on the couch though, and of course sleeps by your side- in your bed or in his. There are a few instances when heβll be affectionate in front of others- like if either of you are really upset, or if youβre watching a movie with Juliet and David.Β
B - Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? Where does the friendship start?)
Alex can be a little bit annoying sometimes.Well, not sometimes. Most of the time. He tries to be nice, in his own Alex-y way. He would take the mickey out of you and joke around a lot, but despite this he would always be there to be a shoulder to lean on or just someone that listens to you.Β

Oh my gosh, thank you Toad! π₯Ήπ«Ά Right back at you π«
Yes, Jetset has some amazing deliveries from Gerard! My favorite being "Aw sugar" π© goddamn I struggle to describe how it makes me feel. It's just perfect!
Another small moment that I absolutely adore and is probably my favorite out of the MCR songs I've heard so far is in I Don't Love You. At the final chorus after Gerard whispers the first part and then belts the rest. The way he goes from screaming to literally growling out the line "I don't" is just so gutteral and raw. It's fucking *mwah* π€
I was thinking about my tattoo question and I think I would get the lyric "run run bunny run" (or just run bunny run" on my neck or collarbone. I love the way Gerard sings the line and it's my favorite part in the song.
Is there a small lyric/moment in a MCR song that just scratches your brain perfectly?
Collarbone is such a good place to get a tattoo. I think the βalrightβ in jetset (actually all of the lyrical deliveries in that song) even though itβs not a good tat. I also love βhair black collar up jet black so coolβ, βand without you is how I disappearβ, and βput the stake in my heartβ so fucking much
I'm scared. I'm fucking scared. Tornado
