types of students: flowers

rose: aesthetic notebooks, sad movies, writing a diary, written work, looking up ten or so new fonts every day, soft giggles, can be distracted easily, sweet, always helping other students

sunflower: extremely competitive, studies wherever, high motivation but sometimes no talent, does the talking in group presentations, asks the questions others are afraid to ask, going on walks to clear your mind

lily: reading the course material over and over until you get it, fairy lights, can be innocent, cries over bad grades, disorganized, wants to bujo but doesn’t know how, dancer, probably scared to ask for help

orchid: self-starter, cinephile, can do anything they set their mind to, vintage supplies, always returns what they borrowed, best friends with the librarian, soft voice, ink pens

daisy: natural, wants to change the world someday, vegetarian, activist, can change your mind in two seconds, genuine laughter, not wanting anybody to feel left out, reading extra books because you’re not feeling challenged enough, getting lost in crowds, europe travels

cherry blossom: doodles in the margin, always tries their best, needs a lot of validation sometimes, shy, borrowing your friend’s notes and their sweaters, chapstick, bringing hot chocolate to study groups, mom friends, super organized, smol bean

You know what makes me sad?

The fact that Ron Weasley is seen as what the horcrux showed as his greatest fear.

Not good enough.

“Feminism killed chivalry” like…no it didn’t? If anything, feminism encourages chivalry.

Out in public with the guys and one of your friends makes a sexist comment about a female friend/stranger? Rise to her defense. She’s a human being and she doesn’t exist for you. She exists only for herself. You won’t tolerate this kind of talk.

At a bar or club, and you see a man slip something in to a drink/relentlessly pursuing a woman despite her many protests? Tell him to knock it the hell off. Get her out of this situation safely. He’s an enemy of women, which means he’s an enemy of yours if this code of chivalry means so much to you.

If you insist on being a warrior for women, then be a warrior for women. Listen to the things that we say and need and ask for. 

Sometimes it’s the very people who no one imagines anything of who do the things no one can imagine.

You wish you could have been normal… I can promise you I do not. The world is an infinitely better place precisely because you weren’t. 

What “chivalry” should be: “I want to do this good thing for someone else because altruism is awesome.”

What “chivalry” should not be: “I’m gonna do this ‘nice thing’ for a woman because she is a woman, but if she doesn’t respond in a manner which I deem appropriate I’m gonna call her an ‘ungrateful b****’ because I’m a petulant child who doesn’t understand historical gender dynamics.”
