here is my one bit of wisdom as a 32 year old with no interest in being a "fandom elder" or "community mom" or whatever -

if someone a little older in your friend group takes care of things and has good advice to offer and whatever, and you all sometimes joke abt them being the mom friend, that's fine and normal

if someone self declares themselves as the mom friend, and begins to act like that is a role with actual authority, Fucking Run

@ hiililylani posts go funds me often that support Palestinian families and other devastations happening around the world that many people might not know about. Not only does she work with Olive branch posting the families they are helping but she talks about situations happening and what other ways you can help

@ aweea_ also is a good source, she has posted a list of organizations that genuinely help people escape Gaza and fund person hygiene products for the women stuck in Gaza with nothing to use/baby products for their children, she also has videos describing how each organization helps

These two kids are Hamza (the oldest) and Qusai (the youngest).

Their mother shares this video and bids them goodbye. They were both killed by Israeli bombardment 5 days ago. She says:

[Two days before Hamza and Qusai were killed, hamza asked me: "mom, when we die, where will I go?" And I told him: "you will be a bird in heaven, my love." He said: "and Qusai?" "Just like you inshallah."

And indeed, two days later, he left and took his brother with him. It's like he was preparing me for saying goodbye to both of them. Heaven is more beautiful than any place on this Earth, habibi. We will meet and be reunited one day, me, your dad and you two].

Our kids don't deserve to die already thinking about what will happen to them, they don't deserve to die already terrified, anticipating their death because the world failed them and decided their lives mean nothing. We are not numbers. Remember their names and their stories.
