i’ve been doing my homework on how to break into a writing career and honestly. there’s a Lot that i didn’t know about thats critical to a writing career in this day and age, and on the one hand, its understandable because we’re experiencing a massive cultural shift, but on the other hand, writers who do not have formal training in school or don’t have the connections to learn more via social osmosis end up extremely out of loop and working at a disadvantage.

Little women ramble

So I was just looking at and consuming a bit of little women media and something hit me. And this is just my own feelings you don't have to agree with me. But I think Amy's will almost always be able to understand Jo's better than Jo's will be able to understand Amy's. Btw I am not claiming one is better than the other. My thing is Amy's look at Jo's a lot, they observe and try to understand them. That is kind of how they show their love for them. Amy's love Jo's so much. That is why Amy's fall in love with Laurie. In this one clip I saw someone was saying something about how jo and Laurie's are each other's halves and because of Amy's love for Jo and Laurie basically being so similar to Jo that's why Amy loved him. And to a good extent I think that is true. So it's this all encompassing love that Amy's have for Jo's that make it so they understand Jo better than Jo can understand Amy.

I keep using my girlfriend with unusual work hours to get out of coworker interactions and happy hours and hanging out.

But now the company holiday party is upon us.

And I’ve been lying about the girlfriend.

I suddenly really empathise with the characters in Hallmark Christmas movies.

Jason’s Super Secret Safehouse That Isn’t That Secret becoming a safe spot for the bats

•you need to get away from the manor for a bit because Bruce is pissing you off? Yeah, you can stay with Jason, just pick up after yourself

•want to patch the worst of your wounds so Alfred doesn’t worry as much? Jason will help you out

•Damian coming over to get help with his English homework, because he doesn’t get the lit analysis thing as well as Jason does

•Tim forgets to buy food sometimes, so he stops by Jason’s for a quick meal

•need to rant? Jason will listen to you

•need a costume sewn up real quick? It won’t be pretty, but Jason has a sewing kit stashed away for that

•Cass stopping by because sometimes she just needs company and a quiet place, and Jason is more than happy to sit in silence with her

•can’t sleep? Jason is usually up too, and he’s ready to talk to you or fix you a cup of tea

•Dick and Babs stopping by after particularly hard cases and patrols and just sitting with Jason to remind themselves that he’s still here

•wanna watch some shitty reality television? Jason’s got you covered

•wanna munch on some pizza rolls, even though Alfred doesn’t let them in the house? Jason has some, but he will judge you

•Duke stopping by to just talk with Jason, because as much as he loves his new family, he misses the simplicities of life he had before, and Jason is the only one who really gets that

•want to cuddle with a really fluffy dog? Jason has one

•Steph stopping by to take some of the snickerdoodle cookies Jason always seems to have

•Bruce usually stays away unless explicitly invited, but one time he literally crashed through the window and Jason patched him up and let him sleep it off on the couch before kicking him out

•and sometimes, on those really hard nights where everyone is on edge and needs to just be together, Jason will let them all crash in his living room and read aloud from whatever book he’s currently reading until everyone falls asleep

give me characters who are angry. Frustrated. Enraged and sad. give me characters who are messy. who don’t know how to deal with their emotions. give me characters who want to learn, but they’re in too much pain right now. Give me characters who need love and support.

give me characters who know their emotions all too well, and can deal with them. give me characters who know they can’t do emotional labour for others. give me characters who would rather be rational, despite being in touch with their emotions.

give me characters who are quiet, reserved. give me characters who don’t like speaking to strangers, who don’t like being the center of attention. give me characters who are sweet and loving and fun to be around, but would just rather be alone. give me characters who would go to a party and come home early to finish their book. or wouldn’t even go in the first place.

or give me characters who are shy and quiet until they are around people they know. give me shy characters that love going to parties but would also enjoy staying home drinking their favourite tea.

give me characters with dry-humour. characters who are serious. characters who are the antithesis of laid-back. give me characters who don’t speak, they bark when they’re angry. give me characters who can be mean and nasty, but mostly quiet.

give me characters who are scary when they lower their voices. give me characters who don’t have to speak up, or even speak at all, to unsettle everyone in a room.

and make them female

give me characters who have suffered injustices. give me characters who are prepared for vengeance. give me characters who are determined, obstinate and deadly. give me characters who are observant, intelligent and cunning. give me minds that scheme against powerful men.
