I. Did. Not. Notice. The. SEATS!!!!!!!

Look, there's got to be something sociologically meaningful about the fact that almost every single queer person I know under the age of about 35 daydreams about setting up an extended household--a little town or a house or an apartment building or a few houses or a mansion or a commune--and filling it with all their friends so we can all live near one another and take care of each other.

It is a wildly common fantasy. Every time I met a new group of people it pops wistfully up. As I age, folks get more and more determined to try. Sometimes they succeed and sometimes they fail and those of us with mobile careers, like mine, are at something of a disadvantage, but the wistful notion is everywhere. The dream. Having our friends who love us right here, where we can touch them and help them.

I don't know if it's just that I live on the internet, but it's something, gazing into the flickering screen and knowing we're all daydreaming about a better future for all of us working together to support one another.

I feel like the start of an oil painting just getting down my right colors before starting with detail. Everyone is trying to be transcendent. I’m trying to avoid a sunburn. I’m feeling like a wasp has crawled its way under my  eyelid and is telling me where to look. Up at the sun. I’ve googled cadmium at least ten times and still don’t remember what it means. Ok so it’s chemical - my mind always replaces it with red. Why aren’t we all just feeding each other  cake all the time? We could be  feeding each other cake right now drizzled in sugar and rolling in grass and tablecloth. (Can we please just breathe and exchange favorite words?) (Mine is love, I know it’s stupid.) Like spitting the color of your heart directly in my mouth. I don’t find it off-putting. I think we’re all a little allergic to one thing or another.

Start watching The Eighth Sense, you won’t regret it I bet. I know if there’s color shenanigans yet bc I’ve been too lost in the sauce regarding everything else in the show (the direction, acting, chemistry, BGM, cinematography, story, VIBES) to pay attention. So far there’s only 2 episodes out, and it looks ridiculously promising!!

Super excited to find out how Jae Won's brother died or disowned him. Even more excited to observe how Jae Won's emotions continue to get masked by different elements in the shot, or how much dark clothing they can put on him compared to Ji Hyun's lighter colors (blue) because everyone needs balance

Glad the baby gay is flexing a little gay muscle with his rainbow light

And super glad this is going to hurt me in a very particular way

Because a show sponsored by IKEA and energy drinks can only cause me unimaginable mental damage, no?

And a show produced by a company with "moonlight" in its name will hurt me regardless if it has a happy ending or not because historically, queer media associated with moonlight, like 2016's Moonlight and 2023's Moonlight Chicken, will always strive for maximum emotional angst.
