oc question: does marie have any other opinions about Dublar? (my oc) (also have a mini extended dublar opinion about marie: Dublar is unsettled by Marie and would rather perfer to be away from her, but they wouldn't mind hanging out with her and finding out more about her. Dublar has a morbid curiousity about her. Though they think they should really stop smoking or at least not smoke around them, and her love of expensive pastries might be a bonding point.)

I feel like Marie would find Dublar to be much too positive for their own good, what is there around to even be so happy about anyways? Their positivity peeves her to no end! How do they even manage?? However, she cannot deny her curiosity surrounding them. How is it that their heart is like that? How does such a thing even happen? What effect does such a difference have in their day to day life? She simply MUST know! She must fuel her intrigue by any means necessary or she will never know rest.

And hey, who knows, maybe she'll learn to enjoy their presence yet... It just may take a long long while.

Interesting to learn what Dubby thinks of Marie! Seems the both of them share a curiosity and desire to know more about the other party... And yes, it would be best for Marie to stop smoking, but getting her to actually do that is most certainly not going to be an easy task. Hey, at least the love of fine delicacies are another similarity they hold, what's not to enjoy with that?

. Okay soooo!! Marie bot! She's a performance-based robo, specifically a ballerina one. Each MARI model is one in a million, but a part of a production line regardless. Specially made for each and every customer with any and all requests that they may desire. She was the perfect machine. Perfect…

She didn't like it. She was specifically chosen and custom-made to dance and be a beautiful set piece. What else? Nothing else. She hated it, but what else was she to do? … She was incomplete.

Marie wants to be whole, different, anything but perfect, in a body that she feels comfortable in. She goes across the land, scavenges parts and scraps from disassembled and discarded drones, adding them to herself with the hope that it'll make her feel complete at some point. The hope that she'll be able to fix what her makers ruined. Until recently, she had no voice to cry suffering, having needed to tear open a less fortunate droid and fix herself, customize the voicebox until it sounded right… Will anything ever be truly right?

Well well well, hello there! Guess who's been having a time with Rhythm Doctor and decided to put one of her favourite little guys in there just for the fun of it!

For the uninitiated, meet Allen Impala! He was the deuteragonist to Joshua in one of my older projects, Ask Joshua Freeman. I really like him and the main cast from there mean a lot to me, so I've decided to bring them over to my mainest hyperfixation so I can have more fun putting them in situations, starting with Al!

To celebrate the occasion, I've even taken the liberty of updating his old character ref a little to better suit what I'm going for with him this time.

And what might I be going for, you may ask? Why, an Interloper, of course! Allen is a little interdimensional traveler, going to boundless places in the multiverse and across dimensions... in order to STEAL as many precious items of interest as he can.

That's right, baby! Allen is a little Cat Burglar this go around! With the help of his goggles to see whatever might be of value, he sneaks and takes in order to send his findings off to a land between dimensions, somewhere that something (or things) are willing to buy just about anything from him. In return, he gets money, games, food, and a base of operations he calls "Fort Thievery!"

Unfortunately, he ended up in Middlesea Hospital during one such attempt at an excursion and was found out as he was hiding in the vents and feasting on junk to try and curb his neverending appetite. From there, doctors asked him questions, monitored him, panicked over the unnatural speed that his resting heart rate took on, and generally made it a lot harder for him to do his job in retrieving goods to steal. But hey, it isn't all bad! At least most of these people are either nice, entertaining, or willing to get him food or aid in whatever way they can! And hey, with one quick call, the rest of his friends might be able to come on over and have some fun around here too, make things a lot less lonely around here!

Now if only he could find his phone...

It’s fusion week on RDL so I’ve been making things to join in on the fun! The first two are a fusion I designed between Haniel and Marie ( @lolatulips’s intern) named Brie and a fusion between Haniel and Mal named Digit (design and lineart by @pokeblog123, I just did the colors/Dw I got permission to post it 😅). Then we’ve got a couple drawings of those two, and lastly a couple drawings of fusion between Haniel and Dublar (designed by @mystorl) and Haniel and Carrie (designed by @c-underscore-rry)!

What does Marie think of the patients? Are there any that she is friends with? Any she can’t stand?

"Friends" is a bit much to describe anyone Marie is seen with. Mostly, if anyone considers them to be friends with her, that's great! Lovely, even. However, the sentiment will undoubtedly be one-sided and Marie would find the implication a little funny.

Overall, Marie sees the patients as levels, as Rhythm Challenges for her to overcome with extreme perfection lest she be ousted and flung from her pedestal. So what if she has to redo their care a good 20 times? So what if they get a bad feeling whenever she appears "for the first time" that they can't completely place? It'll all get done all the same anyways.

The unfortunate part comes when said patients are so endlessly grateful to her for having saved their lives without making a single mistake. Cole wants to make her listen to so many of his debatably good songs, Nicole wants to have a smoke with her and talk about life, the Stevensons want to discuss how they got together and how they've managed to stay in love for all these years. Goodness, don't get her started on the children... Annoying little miscreants, endlessly glad she was never like them.

And yet, all of them have nothing but kind words to say about the woman despite all this... A little icy and rough on the outside, but she must care about them to listen in the way she does.

... Marie doesn't understand why any of this is, but it must be because they're hoping to get something from her. Gifts, maybe? Or maybe they're hoping that being nice will prevent her from making mistakes in any future operations. A kind of moral binding of sorts. Interesting...

As for a patient she couldn't stand, weeeelll... Ignoring Crystal because their feelings are complicated, Marie absolutely LOATHES Richard. She hates him, despises him, actively wishes to cause him harm and actively has done so. You do NOT belittle her and her accomplishments, you do NOT insult her fashion, you do NOT imply that she and her entire line of work is worth nothing while actively demanding they they provide you with aid at the same time. She has deliberately either refused to defib Richard correctly or has actively held the button down as hard as she could the entirety of the song. Of course, she still had to reset and S+ his level, but that catharsis of just doing whatever she wishes to him without consequence will forever have been worth it to her. Fucking capitalist pig...

Ahem, to summarize... Marie tolerates the presence of the grand majority of the patients. Some more than others.

Hello! Thanks for reaching out! I know it’s hard sometimes but I love your stuff! Nice profile pic btw.

Anyway, Mal’s fashion is a little all over the place. They love comfortable clothes. Sweatpants and t-shirts are their go-to. They’re down to try anything on though, and get especially adventurous when in their robot body. Being AMAB, they’re usually too nervous of what people might think of them to dress in feminine outfits. As much as they dislike being stuck in the robot half the time, they do like how freeing it is that they can try anything on with no reservations. The only stipulation is that they can’t cover their chest monitor while helping a patient, as that’s where their vitals are displayed. They have a lot of body dysmorphia as a robot, but finally being able to put some clothes on has helped their self esteem a little. They also like to do cosplays and dress ups with the kids.

The silicone and rubber guards around their limbs are detachable, which allows for an easier fit, but leaves more delicate wiring and machinery exposed. Their outsides are waterproof, but their insides sure aren’t.

As for what they can feel, Maldroid 1.0 is limited to sight and sound. Maldroid 2.0 has sight, sound, heartbeat detection, heat vision, night vision, and later on rudimentary sensors for smell, temperature, and touch. Once Ian found out about Mal’s condition he wanted to make sure they were as comfortable as possible. Before it felt like they were floating in nothing. Sensory deprivation. Now though? It’s not perfect, but it’s better.

Finally finished the intern drawing wooo! I put this on RDL earlier but I almost forgot to post this here whoops 😅

Anyways, here’s the product of nearly 20 hours of drawing interns! I tried my best to capture the vibes of everyone as best I could so hopefully I did an alright job! Now on to the ungodly number of tags hhh

Happy Late Valentine's Day guys! I managed to draw this up for y'all to enjoy!

Marie goes all out in every aspect when the day of love comes, both outfit-wise, and gift-wise. How else are people to know to give you presents and sweets in return? That's how it is in Paris! It's like a second birthday! However, she overestimated the likelyhood of her being given... anything from anyone under such short notice. All a certain few could manage to get her was a card and a lollipop for the time being. Still, something about it seemed to touch something within Marie.

I know someone already asked about Crystal’s feelings, but how does Marie feel? 👀

Ah, I see you wish to ask only the richest of questions, don't you? Well, suppose I shall answer as best I can!

Ahem. She doesn't know! Alright see ya credits roll curtain call byeee-

Pfft, for real tho, she feels... a grand and volatile mess of emotions and sentiments towards Crystal. Some that make sense, some that don't, but every single one of them is overly complex. She despises her existence, she can't get enough of her. She wants to know everything she can about her, but she'd just as easily smash a radio to bits if it were discussing a competition Crystal won earlier that week. They had been friends once, they had been much more than that even, but all good things must come crashing down, being left a mangled and completely unrecognizable shell of what it had once been.

Crystal was the first and only person who really knew Marie, for better and for worse. She knows about Marie's little "gift", for example, and all the good and bad that could've come from such a thing. Which might be another aspect to explain how she feels about the woman in question being here at her place of work...

When she first saw Crystal on all the major league stuff, skating for the world to see, being talked about fondly by locals and fans alike, she could decide whether she wanted to throttle the woman or hold her tenderly in her arms one last time. Of course, she figured she'd never have to make a decision like that considering how wildly different their lives had become. Marie had remained in Paris for the majority of her adult life and Crystal was a globetrotter. The likelihood of either one of them ever seeing the other again was astronomically low, if not impossible altogether. Doubly so once she took that job at Middlesea! Now Marie's past couldn't haunt her even if it tried!

... And then it did. And then Crystal Winters appeared, in the flesh, right there in a patient room. The precious, precious little Snow Queen herself. The precious, precious little Princess of Frost. As if to mock her. As if to smile and laugh as she goes back through the unfinished business of dragging Marie down from the golden throne she rebuilt for herself. As if to spread her arms open wide and display all the success and fame she's managed after lovingly stabbing her dearest in the back. And, what's more, she's claiming that she wants to start anew between the two of them, wants to bury the hatchet and see if they can't let bygones be bygones.

How... dare she...

Marie would not be able to understand at all what Crystal's hoping to prove, to trick her with by pretending to care like this. She hates her, doesn't she? Why bother attempting to bring her guard down just to betray her once again? She can't stand it, she can't stand how any of it makes her feel. It makes her want to scream! She'd gladly leave her levels undone forevermore if it means she never has to deal with any of this crap, than you very much!

Thaaaat's about it, I think. At least as much as I'm willing to divulge, hehe. As you can see, the French are endlessly complex in their emotions and their feelings towards one another, almost to the point of a constant breakdown! Well, for one of them at least. Pfft okay let me start by saying you picked maybe the most complicated question for me to answer hehe but I shall try my best!

Alright, so, for starters, the last time Crystal saw Marie was when they were both 17, with them now both being 26. The end of their relationship... wasn't exactly a great one, Crystal cut ties thinking negatively of Marie and vice versa.

Now, with Crystal able to look back on things through an adult lense, she can see that things aren't exactly as black and white as she once thought them to be, that there are many more layers to somebody than just "Nice" and "Mean", "Good" or "Evil". Even though Marie was no longer a part of her life, she couldn't say she didn't still think about her, wonder how she was doing, hope she was doing better after all the years that passed. Even despite everything, she couldn't bring herself to hate Marie.

Once she does find out that Marie is working at the same hospital she is now a patient in, Crystal will wish to extend an olive branch, to talk, to start from the beginning with Marie and try to make things better between them both. They aren't kids anymore, what mattered back then shouldn't have to matter now, and even if it's impossible to truly go back to how things once were, she still wants to try and be her friend. Kindness is stronger than holding a nearly decade-old resentment, that's what she feels anyways.

Marie's working in the medical field now, that must mean she holds at least some desire and wish to help people get better. That means it shouldn't be too hard to get her to understand, right?... Right?

Hey hey hey hoo hoo! Guess who it iiiis with a whole ‘nother Rhythm D oc! This time, I give you Crystal Winters! A world renowned figure skater who collapsed from a heart attack during a performance in Middlesea.

There is a lot written under the cut here so do be prepared if you wanna delve in!

She was known for her excellence in remaining graceful on the ice and maintaining the appearance of floating weightlessly as she glided, as well as her immense gratitude and charity with both her fans and those less fortunate than her. Overall, she is regarded very fondly by most all that know her and, despite being a world class athlete, she very much prefers not to make too big of a fuss of herself. Even when all this happened, all she could think of was how scary it must have been for the audience to witness.

As such, Crystal's time spent in Middlesea Hospital will kind of be the inverse of Lucky's. She understands that this is a serious situation and that it will take quite a while for her to get back on her feet, but the doctors are doing everything they can to help her and, with patience, she'll be back on the ice before she knows it! No need to show anything else but a smile while she's there, right? It's not the doctors’ fault that her body just decided to fail on her.

So… why then? Why is it that she cannot help but feel so… sad? Why is it that she wants to just curl in on herself and… cry… at the prospect of not being able to perform anymore? People have sent her flowers, cards, little plushes wishing her well during her recovery period, and they're all so sweet, yet…

She doesn't wish to make it anyone's problem or be too much of a burden on the people helping her to get better, but Crystal cannot help but feel exasperated, upset and disheartened about the fact that she will be left useless for months to come. That she will have narrowly few outlets to expend her energy and clear her mind of her troubles. That the possibility of her heart not being strong enough to ever allow her back on the ice looms over her like the clouds on a snowy day.

Outwardly though, Crystal shall present herself as happily as one can, taking time to listen and understand what the doctors tell her while seeming to take it as “just one of those little things that happens in life!” before then going on to bake complex gourmet desserts for five hours so she can do something energy consuming.

… She happens to know Crystal aaaall too well. Frighteningly too well, in fact. In fact, upon being told of her arrival at the hospital, Marie adamantly refused to take her on as a patient, shoving that task onto Ian and Ada while she took over their responsibilities for the day in turn. She will do absolutely everything she can to remain scarce with anything involving Crystal, though is very much unlikely to tell anyone why this is precisely. You can expect her to use her time powers a lot for the sole purpose of avoiding her at every possible turn.

Maybe some day we'll find out why that is…

Fusion AU! It doesn’t really have a plot or anything. I just like designing fusions. Through the power of music and science and the flimsy grasp on logic this world already has, anything is possible. Why would they invent a method to fuse? Idk Edega is a stone’s throw away from a full on mad scientist anyways, so why not? Maybe fusions have thematically appropriate powers that are ripe for him to exploit. I’m probably gonna give most fusions nicknames instead of trying to force two names together. Ian and Ada make Doc! Silly, confident, and caring. They fuel each other.

Can robots fuse with people? Probably not. Doesn’t sound very safe to mix flesh and wires. Sorry Mal and all the other robo-interns. They could fuse with each other though.

Uuuunfortunately, one of the Hospital's main hopes for some return to normalcy is the newest Intern, Marie Sanglante, who would much prefer to just kick up her feet and watch the madness unfold as comfortably as she can while Ian and Ada manage with the worst of the work. (Or, well, mostly Ian)

After all, what's a little plague to someone with control over space and time like her? It's not like she can be affected by it anyways, right?

Every case of Connectifia Abortus is unique. No two victims share the exact same set of symptoms. It almost feels personalized. Malicious.

Middlesea Hospital’s new Intern, despite being unable to connect to anyone in any meaningfully human way, has fully immersed themself in their work. The patients are of their utmost priority, and their coworkers aren’t far behind. Every clash with Connectifia leads to side effects that only grow stronger with time, but does that matter when there’s patients to treat? Lives to save? Any good person would keep on pushing. Besides, every moment in Middlesea is a moment where they mean something. After all, they’re the only one who can do what they do.

Does it shock anyone, then, when even their dreams feel like waking nightmares? Every fiber of their being is inseparable from their work. They are the perfect machine. They do not get to rest. Every night they jolt to life strapped with wires into a metal cage, and they absolutely cannot let anybody know.

TLDR my Intern inverts the “robot slowly becoming more human” trope. Connectifia has permanently intwined them with the Rhythm Doctor Program, and it’ll likely only keep getting worse. When trapped in the machine, there is no video feed, as there is nothing to show.
