I could not post this on the bug day (meaning yesterday) so here it is.

Today, the 19th of December 2022, is one day since the 2022 World Cup of Qatar ended with a victorious Argentina. As much as I am not interested in football, I need to say that Dare Lovers' Skittles went big on the final.

Dorcas and Evan were, probably, the happiest people on Earth. As they saw Argentina taking control they kept shouting things like 'Suck it, baguette!' and 'Shove that up your ass, colonizer!' until Mbappe set it to an equal.

Argentina still ended up winning and, as Cas and Evan were cheering and cussing the shit out of France, deep down in his 'uninterested-in-football' soul, Regulus was boiling.

Pandora and Barty were playing cards and watching the match on half, but they were still on Argentina's team.

marlene had been gone for a while now, as the memory of an august order meeting that had played in their head over and over again reminded them, but they still felt marlene's hot breath against their neck, her cold fingers touching them, drawing patterns on their body, the gentle brush of fingerprints making them shiver and a content sigh to escape their lips.

and, no matter how much everyone around them had tried to deny it, marlene was still there, with the ones that still believed in not necessarily the human, the flesh, but in merely the concept.

"i'm still here, my sunshine."

but it wasn't quite the marlene that dorcas knew. she still looked gorgeous, a light aura always around her, an aura of yellowy-white light, but this marlene was cold, colder, the humanity of a once young, fierce woman gone. drained from what was left of her. the only thing that had changed about her was the fact that she was not a human anymore, but merely a memory, but, to dorcas, there was nothing that could change marlene's brash beauty.

they reached out, in the dark, almost blindly, in hope that she'd be there. it was nothing, just the cold night and the empty pit in your stomach a dead lover leaves.

Viscous/vicious – Viscous is generally used to describe the consistency of blood or other thick liquids. Vicious is used to describe something or someone who is violent. 

Piqued/Peaked/Peeked – To pique someone’s interest is to catch or tease their attention. When something peaks, it reaches its total height or intensity. To peek (at) something is to look briefly, or glance. 

Discrete/Discreet – this is a tough one. Discrete means to be separate, or distinct, i.e., two discrete theories. Conversely, when someone is discreet, they are being secretive or cautious to avoid attention. 

Segue/Segway – one is a transition between things, the other is a thing you can ride at the park and definitely fall off of.

Conscious/Conscience/Conscientious – to be conscious is to be awake, i.e., not unconscious, or to be aware of something. Your conscience is the little voice in your head telling you not to eat the entire pint of ice cream. Finally, to be conscientious is to be good, to do things thoroughly, to be ruled by an inner moral code.
