"Well, you sure know how to make a girl blush. You don't look so bad yourself, handsome."
@littledaydreamers liked this for a lyric starter or two
"I'm not sentimental, but there's somethin' 'bout the way you look tonight, mm, makes me wanna take a picture. make a movie with you that we'd have to hide."
I'm still here! I've just been reorganising my muses and bios. I'll put some starters up soon :)
Rhiannon didn’t respond right away. She let his words settle, watching the way he curled in on himself, the way his frustration laced through every syllable. She didn’t flinch at the bitterness in his tone—just observed, quiet and steady.
After a moment, she looked away, out toward the darkened yard. “I know what you mean,” she murmured. “When there’s too much noise, too many thoughts, and no way to turn them down.” Her fingers idly traced a knot in the wood beneath her. “It’s like being stuck inside a room where all the walls are mirrors, and every reflection is another thing you have to think about.”
She let the thought drift between them, not pushing for a response.
Instead, she sat back a little more, looking up at the stars in the sky. They always had a way of calming her, a way of reminding her how small she and her problems were in the grand scheme of things. “People don’t always notice when someone’s overwhelmed. They just keep talking, keep expecting.” Her gaze flickered toward the window, toward the muffled thrum of the party inside. “It’s easier to let them think you’re distant than explain.”
Her eyes met his again, searching but not prying. “Does anything help?” It wasn’t an empty question, not a meaningless attempt at small talk. Just quiet curiosity, like she was offering him space to answer—or not—without expectation.
Kit's gaze shifted back to his front and he returned to taking eaven breaths. He knew this was futile to continue doing this and silently cursed himself for being out from home for so long. He was thinking of classwork and what he needed to assign for his next class, about the bpm of the current song playing at the party, also trying to calculate a math equation he'd seen in his head, all the while people at the party continued to try and speak to him. It was too much and he soon found himself needing and wanting to go home.
His brain was still buzzing and he could feel himself slipping mentally. He made a mental note to know that he'd be pretty much be operating on autopilot for the remainder of the week. He couldn't understand her feeling of not being around strangers but it all being too much was something all too familiar for him. He was nodding along to what she said absently before taking a small sigh.
At her question his eyes looked back to her as he pulled his knees up to his chest and rested his head on top of them. "It spins everywhere." His reply coming out bitter and irritated. "I can't control it and I just," he shrugged, "I needed a moment." After a moment he continued. "Most people assume i'm just cold but if my brain is already in overdrive and someone speaks to me on top of it..it just becomes too much to handle."

“I’d think twice about releasing me. That is if you had any intention of keeping your hand” Kennedy hissed her threat to the stranger as she attempted to loosen his grip on her whilst trying not to draw attention to them. Her hand drifted to her hip where her small blade was usually hidden, only to find it missing and her heart to lurch. She had only wanted to have a quiet drink, hoping to over hear any information on the new arrivals, though this time it appeared that she had made the mistake of listening in on the wrong people and they hadn’t been as drunk and unobservant as she had originally thought.
Jacob stood at a nearby table, observing the tense situation unfolding before him. His eyes darted between Kennedy and the stranger, analysing their body language and trying to assess the best course of action. He had seen Kennedy at the tavern before, a tough and independent woman who seemed to be able to handle herself in most situations. However, it was clear that she was in a vulnerable position now. His instinct to help kicked in, and he quickly made his way over to Kennedy, trying to keep a calm demeanour. He approached from the side, not wanting to startle either of them further. As he got closer, he spoke in a low voice, "Hey, is everything alright here?" The stranger, taken aback by Jacob's unexpected intervention, loosened his grip slightly. Jacob stood tall, positioning himself between Kennedy and the stranger, projecting an air of confidence. He maintained eye contact with the stranger, subtly conveying that he wouldn't tolerate any further aggression. "I suggest you walk away now," he said firmly, his tone leaving no room for negotiation. The stranger hesitated, his gaze shifting between Jacob and Kennedy. Sensing the mounting tension, he finally decided to retreat, his pride wounded but realizing the situation was no longer in his favour. With one last lingering look, he turned and disappeared into the crowd. Jacob turned his attention to Kennedy, offering her a reassuring smile. "Are you alright?" he asked gently, concern evident in his voice.
Jee's jaw tightened slightly, but he kept his expression unreadable, arms crossed over his chest. "And what if I already know that?" His voice was calm, but there was also an edge to it—like he was weighing every word carefully. "What if I don't care?" He exhaled, running a hand through his hair before finally meeting her gaze. "Maybe I just want to enjoy it while it lasts. Maybe I'm not looking for forever." A small, humourless smile tugs at the corner of his lips. "Not everyone gets the kind of love you're talking about, Minnie."

"they're not right for you." she tells the other softly turning around to face them. they had just finished telling her about their upcoming valentines day festivities and while minnie spent that time grinning and baring it, she couldn't keep it in any longer. "they're using your for you status and in a few weeks ... they're gonna toss you aside like they do to everyone else." she explained nervously her voice meek. "you deserve someone who cherishes you for you, and will actually care for you.."
Ruby felt her stomach flip when his message came through, her fingers curling around her phone as the words sank in. She hadn’t expected him to push quite this far. Chewing on her lip she questioned how to proceed.
text: talk about trying your luck... what will I get in return?
The brunette sat up, and crossed her legs on her lap as she began to take the plaits out of her hair. She still couldn't quite believe the way their conversation was going. They'd been been friends for a while now, he was easy to get on with and even easier on the eye but she'd never once thought he would have found her attractive yet tonight had proved otherwise. He knew her dating history and the type of guys she wasted her time with, she couldn't help but wonder what was going on in his mind -- was he into this or was it just a little bit of fun?
text: i mean technically you are the guy that I'm texting-- the other guy left me on read🙄
he knew there was every chance that when he text her that last message she could shoot him down, yet he decided to toss his hat in the ring so to speak. he wasn't tied down to anyone, though there were plenty of rumours about him getting back with his ex but he had no interest in persuing that further. they'd broken up for a reason. he felt like he'd wasted a year of his life to be with someone who made him look like a fool and yet was constantly trying to push her way back into the picture. he wouldn't say he felt nothing, it was quite hard actually first love and all but he wasn't going back there. instead he was dancing on this fine line with ruby, where she had the opportunity to shoot him down.. and yet she didn't, which he found interesting.
"fuckkkk." he groaned at her reply, only imagining what that could possibly look like.
text: lace as well.. god you're killing me.
text: sneak peek?
he leant up a fraction propping himself between the pillows and his bed post and got himself more comfortable as this conversation continued to unfold.
text: if i was that guy you were texting, i wouldn't be able to contain myself knowing that's what you had on underneath that easy accessible dress of yours.
This has been on my mind for long but I’m gonna do this - please reblog this if you’re comfortable with pre-establishing relationships. I do not mean “met at the grocery store two weeks ago” or “have a common friend”, but rather stuff like “have been best friends since kindergrden”, “go for a beer every friday”, “friends with benefits”, “dated in highschool”, “hate each other’s guts because -insert reason-” etc. Something meaningful (but not necessarily shippy) and I mean with muns/characters you have not interacted with, because I cannot believe I am the only one who prefers jumping right into the heart of the human interaction
open to : males !
plot : loosely based on this song but take it wherever you'd like -- feel free to message if you want more info or would like to plot
The party was in full swing, the air thick with cheap perfume, sweat, and the bass of some overplayed club mix. Winter wasn't even sure whose house this was—just that it was big, expensive, and filled with the exact type of people she tried to avoid.
And yet, here she was, leaning against the kitchen counter, watching a group of guys take turns admiring themselves in the reflection of the microwave door. All sharp jawlines, designer sneakers, and the same rehearsed smirk. The kind of guys who knew they were pretty, who expected the world to bend over backwards just because they flashed a grin.
"Let me guess," she said, tilting her head as one of them caught her staring. "You're about to tell me you’re different from the rest?"

Through squinted eyes Mollie peered out into the night air, catching the sight of Asher. “Dude.. It’s 2am. Also I literally saw you four days ago..” To answer his question.. yes. Tugging her large, fluffy, dressing gown tighter around her form, Mollie then listened to him continued to speak. Humming softly, she then lifted a hand, tapping her forefinger against her chin lightly, as though she were thinking about his comment. Huffing, she then stepped aside. “If I so much as find a wet towel left on the bathroom floor, you’re out.” The stern look wasn’t a good one for the petite woman, considering she stood a solid foot shorter than her friend, and the fact that she could barely keep a straight face, she broke almost immediately. Moving back into the apartment she shared with a few of her college study buddies, Mollie then began to speak once again. “You wanna tell me what happened.. Or rather why you’re on my door step at two in the freaking morning?”
Asher gave a sheepish grin. “Is it really? I had no idea.” He fibbed rather blatantly. “Four days ago feel like a lifetime when it comes to being separated from my best friend.” The male replied, attempting to shmooze his words and a charming smile. He laughed as she pretended to consider what he had asked. Asher nodded “Noted. No wet towels on the floor, but boxers are fine, right?” He teased with a wink as he stepped into the apartment. “Nice dressing gown, by the way.” The dark-haired male told stated, closing the door behind him. “Pshh, it’s a long story. A boring one, if I’m honest.” Asher replied, keeping things vague. He had never been a fan of talking about his home life, even to one of his best friends.
