lewis was always kind to me, and i don’t want to diminish that. he understood things that no one else on the grid could, and in our quieter moments, we’d talk about what it felt like to be ‘othered’ in a sport that thrives on tradition. but those moments were rare, and when we were on track—or in the paddock—it felt like we were always circling each other, wary but never fully connecting. maybe it was because we both had walls up, or maybe it was because we each carried our own burdens and didn’t know how to share them without feeling weaker for it.

YN: Not at all. I mean, I hoped people would read it, obviously. But I thought it would mainly resonate with people who followed my career, maybe the motorsport community. it’s not jenson

she said herself in the book that x wasn’t a teammate. that rules out jenson. also, she’s been pretty vocal about respecting jenson, even calling him a good teammate.

the timeline matches

seb was dominating the sport in the early 2010s while yn was still proving herself. if x was making dismissive comments about her being a “right car, right time” kind of driver, wouldn’t it make sense that it came from someone like seb, who was constantly winning and under a similar microscope?
