PIEROGI PIZZA! GREAT PIZZA! CHEESY POTATO AND ONION ON CRUST! My area is so German and Polish we have to put potatoes even our Italian food. Like, we have pierogies at every festival and kielbasa is served in school, also haluski, but all three can be found in both places, and they haven't had sauerkraut in either but you can find it at bake sales (???? Why? ?? Everything will taste like sauerkraut???) and everyone over fifty has their preferred way of making it. Basically, my area is vvv German and Polish and pierogi pizza is great. Haven't had any in ages, but it's great.
In the au, Shiro is twelve and the big brother of the group. He was best friends with Pidge’s brother Matt. I haven’t decided his family life yet but I do know he becomes an authority figure among the kids. He isn’t an adult but he’s the closest of them to being one.
Shiro helps keep the peace because he knows a good deal about kids and is old enough to explain earth things to the adults. He carries Pidge around on his shoulders to keep them from wandering off and causing trouble, and is often the first one the kids go to when there’s mischief, whether they caused it or are hiding from it, for protection. They all consider him their big brother, latching onto him to different degrees.
Pidge knew him from before because he’d come over to hang out with they bother. Hunk sees him as the biggest and strongest around and therefore the safest person to be with. Lance sees him as someone else to get attention from and goes to him a lot for little things because Shiro always takes the time to listen to him. Keith never really had anyone but his mother and Shiro understands that, trying to help any way he can and giving him ‘jobs’ as he is the second oldest.
More than 11,000 years ago, young children trekking with their families through what is now White Sands National Park in New Mexico discovered the stuff of childhood dreams: muddy puddles made from the footprints of a giant ground sloth.
Few things are more enticing to a youngster than a muddy puddle. The children — likely four in all — raced and splashed through the soppy sloth trackway, leaving their own footprints stamped in the playa — a dried up lake bed. Those footprints were preserved over millennia, leaving evidence of this prehistoric caper, new research finds.
The finding shows that children living in North America during the Pleistocene epoch (2.6 million to 11,700 years ago) liked a good splash. “All kids like to play with muddy puddles, which is essentially what it is,” Matthew Bennett, a professor of environmental and geographical sciences at Bournemouth University in the U.K. who is studying the trackway, told Live Science. I am casual guy, you are high feminine, let's walk around the mall dressed as these things with cool guy shades on and pretend we're cool for once.
So I took this http://www.celebritytypes.com/gender/test.php gender roles test and this was my result. Hehe.
Here is Lance! So he’s the middle child of eight, or rather, he would be once the last two were born. Currently he has four older siblings and one younger. Because of the hectic nature of his house, he was always doing attention seeking behavior, doing things he knew would upset his mom so she would have to spend an extra moment with him, which carried over into his life at the castle. He loves his family deeply though, and the jacket he wears constantly belongs to his second oldest brother, who gave it to him the day he went off with the castle.
As the third oldest, a knowledgeable eight year old, he leads Hunk and Pidge on adventures around the castle, causing mischief. They call themselves the Squid Squad, mostly because Pidge decided they should. He doesn’t get along with the other eight year old, Keith, and pushes for a rivalry because Keith wants a lot of attention too, which Lance deems inexcusable.
Personally I've always dreamed of being a renaissance era collections curator for a lord's curiosity cabinet. I've passed myself off as a man, of course, stating that I caught an illness as a child which hindered my growth. I become a trusted and close friend to the lord between my travels to collect things for him, to the point that he offers me his eldest daughter's hand in marriage. The two of us have been having romantic exchanges through letters for quite some time so I accept (she knows very well I am a woman and not a man and this is what prompts our relationship to begin with). Through a series of 'unfortunate' events I, as the husband of his eldest daughter, gain the lord's land and possessions upon his death. That means I get to keep all the pretty old things for myself.
I think my dream job would be a medieval explorer who travels the world and then describes various animals I’ve seen on my travels to the illustrators of bestiaries
This is the map of Tiesia, a country with a mythology I am creating. It’s all in the works, but I’m pretty proud of this map so I wanted to share it.
Tiesia is a warm peninsula set in the Viesius Sea. It’s northern border is a nearly impassable mountain range, which has contained Tiesia to its peninsula, and kept it from fighting with its northern neighbor, for the most part.
The best way to travel back and forth between the two is the Kalnų Path, which then leads around the western edge of the country, connecting all of its cities. Western Tiesia is mostly forested, and is the more populated side of the country. The map doesn’t show most of the small towns that exist in the forest, but they all benefit from the Kalnų Path.
It’s capital is Sostinė, on the east side of the river Didelis which splits the country in half. Sostinė is one of the port cities of the country, the other being Kelias Miesto on the western shore, which is the nearest port city to their northern neighbor.
Eastern Tiesia has a large desert which covers the majority of the land, leaving most of the area empty of people. Tamsus Desert is stopped by the Tams River. There are small cities where the river meets the ocean, leaving the land more fertile. Eastern Tiesia does the majority of the farming, in the parts not taken up by the desert. There are also a lot of farms along the southern edge of the country.
In the south there is a large island called Sala. Sala is known for its amount of major temples, including the one where the oracle resides. The only major religious place that isn’t located on Sala is Magija’s main Tower which is located in the north east on the Kalnų Path, halfway between the first city on the path and the first port city, Kelias Miesto. Between Miestas Sventylos and Sostinė, all of the political power is in the south.
In the south there is land that Tiesia and its southern neighbor has fought over for hundreds of years, including islands to the south east, which generally consider themselves independent because of the constantly changing power over them.
So that’s a quick (or really long) over view of the terrain of a country I’ve been making up.
