See Something I Really Really Adore About Chase (the Video) Is That It’s Incredibly Big And Cinematic,

See something I really really adore about Chase (the video) is that it’s incredibly big and cinematic, but also fascinatingly personal. Chase (the character) is so well acted, Jack does some genius things with his characterization! The car scene gives us a good idea on how he handles stress (bottling up and deflecting until it’s overwhelming and he breaks) and the scene at the cairn gives us a look into why he handles it that way (mother died when he was young and so he is left struggling for affection and in relationships...at least that’s how I took it).

But this scene? The rooftop? It gives us Chase in an entirely new crisis. When he has no idea what’s happening and no agency over his situation. Does he immediately start running? Hide? Shout for someone to hear him? No. He looks. Assesses the situation, getting as much info as he can. Chase isn’t good with emotional conflict, relationships, everyday life, but he’s got a handle on the strange and bizarre. Why?

What happened to Chase to make him so calm in the face of something so strange?

CHASE was a such a beautiful cinematic piece. I love geeking out about direction, movement and framing in movies, and the way CHASE is shot, especially the scene right after he’s teleported, is just so great.

Like? Look!! At this!!

Funny. (A DBH Drabble)

A/N: Well, I absolutely adore Detroit: Become Human, and I’ve been wanting to write a piece about it for a while! So I thought I’d get my feet wet with a quick little drabble about laughing. Enjoy!

The first time it happened, he didn't know what to think. He and Hank were eating at the usual food truck. Well, Hank was eating. Connor was leaning against the table, nodding his head to the distant music eminating from a nearby club. He didn't much care for the lyrics, but the beat was good, strong enough that he could feel it shaking the table and resonating in the soles of his shoes. He would never know why his fingers tapped the table or his head nodded in time, but he didn't mind. Having some things be unexplained was...interesting, if neither positive nor negative. "You lost in your head again, son?" He blinked and looked over at Hank, who was gesturing at him with a half-eaten chicken sandwich. "My apologies Leuitenant-" "You can just call me Hank, y'know." He blinked again, and Hank grinned somewhat awkwardly. "You don't have to. I'm just sayin', it's...y'know, it's weird to only call your friends by their rank. No one does that." "Friends?" "Shit, Con," Hank laughed, then sighed. "I mean...hell, it doesn't make sense to not call you my friend after you've saved my life a few times, right?" He waved the sandwich as if in salute. Without thinking, Connor laughed. It was a genuine, honest laugh, somewhat loud in the quiet night air. As soon as he realized what was happening, the noise cut off abruptly. The look on his face must have been quite a sight, because Hank went from smiling to wide-eyed laughter. "What'd I say?" "I...I don't know?" Connor was surprised to find that he was still smiling. "I don't think it was anything you said, but...you waved that sandwich at me, and it seemed...ridiculous?" He found he was laughing again, and Hank chuckled in return. "Are you kidding me? Damn, how low does a man have to fall for his own fuckin' android to laugh at 'im?" In yet another first, Hank reached over and ruffled his hair. Thinking he might as well follow instinct again, he batted away the hand and shoved Hank's arm slightly. "I'm sure I'm not the first to laugh, L-...ah, Hank." "And now you're making fun of me too! What's the world coming to?" Connor thought he just might have to laugh more often.

Late.

A/N: Quick little drabble based on a sketch by @piligy

It was quiet, but that wasn't unusual. Most people preferred to work with some sort of soft background noise, music or a podcast, just something to drown out the rest of the world. He didn't need that. For him, the world was as quiet or as loud as he chose. He sighed, shuffling through the papers in front of him again. He'd been at it for hours now, trying to go over every detail of their latest plan, keeping track of subscriber counts, of tour schedules and show dates, of time since their last...encounters. It was infuriatingly scattered and unorganized. The egotisical bastard had always been hard to predict, but now that he wasn't...him, anymore, it was almost impossible to know definitively if his predictions were going to be accurate. He stood, rubbing his eternally stiff neck as he cracked it again with a grunt. Something else cracked behind him, and his lips quirked into a small smile. He strode slowly to the end of the room, taking his suit jacket off the hook and shrugging it back over his shoulders as the walked. Walking back to the desk and toward the fireplace behind it, he found himself studying the large mirror over the mantle. It was ornately framed, once silver but now tarnished with age, and bore several large cracks across the surface of the glass. No one dared to ask him why he had kept such an old, broken decoration instead of replacing it. He would never explain if they did. Right now, though, the cracks in the glass weren't the most interesting part of the old mirror. A silohette was staring back at him, and it wasn't his reflection. It was indistinct, blurred like an out-of-focus camera picture, but more fluid, like standing smoke. The fuzzy apendage that might have been it's hand was lying flat against the glass.

"You're up late, old friend." His voice echoed more than it should have in the small room. He took another step, adjusting his jacket as he leaned forward on the desk. "I'm not surprised, really. You never did like to see me working late, did you?" He ran a hand through his disheveled hair, and with it pulled back, he almost looked like a different person. The shadow-y figure made a gesture that he seemed to understand. "Not yet. Not just yet. There is still much to do. But I'm taking care of it, aren't I?" He rounded the desk again, and put his hand on the glass, touching it with just his fingertips. The glass creaked as if it were under great pressure, as if, had he put his hand flat against it, it would shatter completely. The figure drew back slightly from the touch, and he raised an eyebrow at them. "Oh, but what's the matter? Don't you trust me anymore? I told you..." The monochrome room seemed to suddenly glow blue and red, the colors shaking unsteadily. His voice seemed to have too many layers, as if several people were talking at once. "We would do this together."

Leather.

Pairing: 9/Rose, 10/Rose

Rating: G

He found it while cleaning up. Just busying himself while Rose was asleep, really, tidying the wardrobe room. Which of course the TARDIS hated, he was taking things out of the nice order she'd put them in, but he loved it! He'd forget how much brilliant stuff was in there if he never cleaned up. So this was something he did while Rose was out for hours and hours.

And he'd find things like his jacket.

His leather jacket.

Oh, the memories he had of this thing. He held it up to his nose and smiled as the strangely still familiar scent hit him. Old leather, his old cologne, bananas...

This was the jacket he'd worn coming out of the War. If he tried hard enough, he was sure he'd find bloodstains on it. He wasn't going to try. This was the jacket he'd grieved in, he'd roamed in, homeless, for years and years. This was the jacket that said, "Keep away!" if the rough accent and tough, if daft, old face didn't scare you off first.

This was the jacket he'd met Rose in. This was the jacket she'd clung to and hugged tight and slapped when he was being stupid. This was the jacket she'd given a new meaning to, the old traveler's jacket instead of the warding he'd worn. This was the jacket that'd kept her warm on several occasions, that'd been used as a seat for picnics on bright hillsides all over the universe, that'd been their umbrella in blue rain and a shield from the wind and shimmering sand of some planet he'd long forgotten the name of.

This was the jacket that still felt like the Vortex, just a little bit, and still smelled a little bit like smoke, and Hypervodka, and Slitheen slime, and the perfume in Satellite Five's game rooms.

This jacket didn't fit him now. And he didn't mean physically, though of course it didn't fit him physically either. But it did fit someone.

He wandered up to Rose's door, and held up a hand to knock, still looking at the jacket. Deciding against it, he simply folded it and set it outside, then reached into his pocket, drew out a notepad and a pen, and scribbled something before ripping it off and setting it in the pocket. He put away the notepad, straightened his jacket and tie, and meandered off down the hall, whistling an old song he'd danced to once.

Rose found the jacket a few hours later, and read, through slightly teary eyes,

For those planets with a North. Let's see them all.

If you're not too bunged or have a lot of work, would you be interested in doing something about madpat? Maybe with a quite shy reader?

A/N: I’m going with horror here, but I can do accomplice next time if you want? Not huge on doing romantic interest imagines for insanes/evils or the real people, sorry!

“You’re a quiet one.” The grin on his face was the most terrifying thing you’d ever seen, deranged but somehow startlingly present, as if he knew exactly what he was doing, but didn’t care how it hurt anyone else. You leaned away from him, the restraints of your chair not letting you move as far as you would have liked. The small movement made him smirk.

“Aw, that’s funny! You think you can get away from me!” You cringed as he slammed his hands into the back of the chair, his face inches from yours and his breath hot on your skin. “No chance, loyal theorist.”

“Matt, p-please...I-if you can h-hear me...p-please...you’re not l-like this...”

That laugh would stay with you until the day you died. It was the laugh of a lunatic, but it wasn’t senseless. It was dangerously purposeful. You shrunk away, shaking as wide, near-black brown eyes leveled with yours, teeth bared in the ghost of a smile turned grimace.

“Matt. Isn’t. Here.”

His hand was around your throat, tightening by the second.

“And you might think you can save him...”

You couldn’t breathe, you could barely see as his grin grew impossibly bigger.

“But that’s just a theory, isn’t it?”

The mocking tone was lost on you, as the world faded away.

i love this as a theory! it makes a lot of sense, too. i like the idea that he didn’t intend to blend all of these stories, and that there was supposed to be a linear way to go through, but everything got jumbled together.

I WAS ABOUT TO FALL ASLEEP BUT I JUST HAD A REVELATION

WHAT IF THE REASON WHY EVERYTIME A NEW EGO APPEARS IN THE HEIST, HEIST MARK HAS TO DIE SO ACTOR CAN SWAP ROLES--

He is, an actor after all. Considering that we've already pretty much gotten confirmation on the Markiplier = Actor Mark theory, and Mark does all the other characters himself irl, who says that Actor can't????

On top of that, this only happens in AHWM. In WKM, of course none of the characters have to spontaneously die in order for another to appear. In their original reality, they were seperate people.

But in AHWM, if this is TRULY Actor's game, it's possible this is the only way how to portray different characters and still be the "main character" or center of attention.

(i mean, he might, but its almost 3am im not gonna check, if i contradict anything canon pls tell me)

Another possible explaination is when all the timelines got messed up due to the artifact, all of Actor's stories, in whatevrr strange house wousey upside down he makes them in-- where of course, he plays the lead get intertwined?

A pirate who sails the sea for treasure, A noble heartbreaker adventurer, a remorseful prisoner

These are all stories that more or less focus on ONE Person. One person and the things they do.

And adding onto that, Dark and Wilford don't chase off Actor in some way. Dark simply transitions to a hallway after Actor just, vanishes

and Wilford shows up after you rewind.

Will update in a couple hours, apologies if this is bad or incoherent or stretching it, i am tired and gay and its very late i should be sleep i might do that rn thank u byeee
