Leyla agreed, offering a smile, "that's the worst, right? When you just want to enjoy a night out and someone plastered decides that's a good time to bug you." It truly was a beautiful place, and she really couldn't imagine having her business anywhere else now.

"I do," she replied, keeping her answer short and truth close to the chest. As with most of her truths. But the idea of getting to work with kids and offer them positive experiences was very appealing to her. "Physical therapy? I can see how those sort of correlate in some cases. Have you always been an animal lover? I feel like you sort of have to be to volunteer at a place like this."

Leyla Agreed, Offering A Smile, "that's The Worst, Right? When You Just Want To Enjoy A Night Out And

Livvy nodded her head with understanding as Leyla explained her reasoning for anting to open the business, knowing that it made complete sense. "Sometimes when I want to go out after work, I don't want to worry about being hit on by someone who's been drinking all night, or deciding who wants to be the designated driver," which was always a challenge, one that no one wanted to take on, most of the time. "Besides, you have some really gorgeous views, which makes it all the better." Getting to kick back and relax with friends, have a drink, admire the views? Perfect evening activity.

"Oh!" she brightened instantly at the mention of a similar program, "then you have a basic understanding of how everything works. And how great it can be, too," not that she needed to sell it to anyone; once they spent an afternoon around laughing, smiling kids, they normally caught on to how important it was to them. "I'm a physical therapist, so when the mother of a patient mentioned her daughter getting involved in the program, I asked if I could tag along. Things sort of went from there."

It took her longer than she wanted to get here, but the fire for her goals had been there after all. It just took the lowest point in her life and the climb out of it to inspire her again. "I did!" She exclaimed, "and it is amazing. The town has seemed to really love it, the location really has been everything." She was so used to having her guard up, that she forgot how freeing it felt to have someone around that didn't need the wall.

"But there is a family farm, so you can go up there and see if some rugged farmer needs a big city girl to help him save the family farm," Leyla replied, laughing a little at the absurdity of it and how realistic it actually sounded in this setting. Though she was pretty sure the Newman Family Farm wasn't in danger. Just because a shirtless hunk was destined for her movie, love had long lost its meaning, she would support her friend in her dreams. She nodded, remembering she had brothers, so it made sense. "So you probably know more than I do about this place," she admitted, smiling as Cemille mentioned the dance studio. She always had been an exquisite dancer. "I haven't been out dancing in forever, I might need a refresher or do you not teach club dance?" She was teasing, but she really didn't think it would be the worst idea to find a place to go dancing sometime. "They don't seem real," she agreed, "everyone is almost too nice. I like it though...in a weird way." Even if she didn't always act like it.

It Took Her Longer Than She Wanted To Get Here, But The Fire For Her Goals Had Been There After All.

"You did?" Her eyes lit up, but Leyla was the type of person who always went after what she wanted, so she shouldn't have been too surprised. "Wow, congratulations! I have to be sure to stop in to check it out. I'm sure with you running it, it'll be amazing." She nodded, earnestly. She couldn't think of anyone who deserved it more than her. She was just one of those people Cemile felt at ease with, and she thought small-town life suited her.

"Bummer about the lack of shirtless lumberjacks though, I was hoping one would sweep me off my feet. But I guess that fantasy is tabled." she joked, a slight grin on her face at the thought. Though she understood what Leyla meant, this place did remind her of something out of a made-for-TV movie. "Well, I spent summers in Merrock so it's not a new town. But my brothers have been here for a few years, and I figured it was time to make an effort with the family. So mainly for them, but I'm also teaching dance at the local studio which is a nice change. Everyone here is so," she struggled to find the word, without making it seem like she was being cynical. Because in reality, she was starting to like this place once again. "Wholesome, but I guess I'm making things work. Maybe once people stop being so overbearing I'll finally like it here."

She meant it when she said she wanted Mawk Tales to be for everyone. It was safe. "Good, I'm going to be putting on some events, trivia, live music, things like that, over time." She wanted to have more reasons to bring people in to have fun and enjoy some non-alcoholic drinks. She smiled in understanding as he said it depended on the day. "Yeah, I can see that. It's the kind of day for friends not dads," she remarked with a small laugh.

He nodded in understanding as Leyla encouraged stopping by Mawk Tales with Ary. "I'll have to make sure I stop by and check it out," he agreed. It was always nice checking out new spots around town anyway. Wes couldn't help but chuckle at the question of whether his daughter was outright ignoring him or if she still thought he was cool. "Depends on the day," he shook his head. Pre-teens were interesting to navigate parenthood with. "Right now, she'd rather be out with her friends," he added as he looked back out at his daughter, then back at Leyla. At least that was the case in that present moment.

That was the beauty of a small town, this was invaluable advertising because the whole town had to be walking around this week. If they hadn't made it to the coast yet, they would know her shop's name now and the delicious drinks they could find there. "Yes, as long as the feedback's good, but barring people spitting it back out at me, we'll have these for the season. And maybe a couple others. They are seasonal, though, so still for a limited time. Just not one week limited." For a young business, it might not be the best idea to donate all this money to a charity, but that's what she was going to do. She believed in the cause, and the mission of her place was to make the world better, safer, kinder. That's what Harmony Healers was doing. As she set the flight in front of him, she added, "and all of these are available full-size this week that you can take with you, if there's one you really like and want to take it as you explore the rest of the booths."

That Was The Beauty Of A Small Town, This Was Invaluable Advertising Because The Whole Town Had To Be

"You know what?" Josh nodded his head decisively when Leyla talked about the flight, the special that she had crafted up for the week, offering her a bright smile. "Let's go with that. Might as well try a little bit of everything, and then get hooked -- are you also selling these over at the coast, in case I need to stop by and get my fix?" After all, there was nothing worse than falling in love with the taste of something, only to never have it again. It happened all too often at fairs and festivals, he had come to find. But he trusted Leyla to find a way to make it happen. "Besides, always want to help with a good cause," and he did love the work that Harmony Healers was doing, after all.

"Thank you," Leyla replied, still beaming. It was maybe her favorite thing about the business she decided to open: the creativity. She hadn't previously considered herself a very creative person, but this had brought beautiful new challenges. "Easy peasy," she laughed. "Oh, blue curaçao is a liqueur, the syrup substitutes for that to make it non-alcoholic, so you'd just take out that syrup and add the liqueur. Voila, mocktail becomes cocktail." She believed in their being a time for everything, so she didn't have any problem making the suggestion. Especially since the woman did confirm she'd also like to check her place out. "I would love to have you stop by. I offer flight options as well, so you can sample a bit of different things. I can pick out my prettiest ones for you. We'll eventually have some live music nights too, so that'll be something to come enjoy."

"Well, I have to say this is probably the most beautiful drink I've ever seen." Ryn admitted, taking a look at it, trying to really get an idea for how beautiful the drink was. "Oh that's some simple stuff that people just have laying around a lot anyways." she smiled. "It looks delicious. In the chance someone wanted the alcoholic version, what would you suggest they put int it? Though, you did such a good job I may have to just come down to Mawk Tales a lot and get some of these."

If you're forgetting that iconic moment, then you definitely should. Oh, those are good too, I'm not sure there's a bad favorite to have. Except Cathy, and I don't think anyone liked her. You need better friends if they don't jump at the idea to go as a The Office ensemble, I'm kidding. I still say it's a good idea. It would, but maybe not red blood because bananas wouldn't bleed red, would they? Maybe get some freeze-dried bananas and put little pieces over your costume and maybe a yellow-er food coloring for the 'blood'.

If You're Forgetting That Iconic Moment, Then You Definitely Should. Oh, Those Are Good Too, I'm Not

Ahh, how could I forget about Kevin with the chili?! Now I feel like I should rewatch the whole show. Think that it’s a tie between Creed and Michael. Can never decide between the two! But yours are pretty great. Stanley is really underrated. It’ll be tough to try and get a group to help me out, but I’ll give it a shot. I mean, it’ll be a unique horror costume, no? Add a little of blood paint on me, and I will win any contest.

For all her lack of festiveness, Leyla really did love the view here. If you could drown out all the other noise, the sound of the ocean waves was nice. Looking up from her book as she had company, she smiled warmly, "not at all. Make yourself comfortable. You guys really do make a big thing of the end of summer around here, huh?"

WHERE: The Beach

WHEN: End of Summer Beach Bash

Rafael did love the beach. Normally, he preferred the quiet afternoons through the week, when there wasn't quite as much noise and fuss, when people could pitch a canopy, lay out a towel, not worry about the world around them. But he couldn't deny that the beach party was still a good time, even with the laughing, screaming kids hanging about. As he took stock of the people nearby, he saw a woman sitting with a book in hand, and figured it was a safe spot, stopping nearby and offering a polite smile. "Mind if I take up a little space next to you?"

"Right. So you do remember?" She said with a warm smile. Good for him. As someone in the customer service business, she always found that to be a highly valuable trait. "I heard about that," she admitted, "I'm considering it actually. I've always wanted one, but I do share custody of my roommates' dogs and I work so much...I'm never sure if I'll have the time." She was really saying too much to the guy just trying to make her coffee. "I think there was worse things to be than a crazy cat lady," she replied with a small laugh, "oh, you definitely shouldn't have! So is the dog Blake Lively or Hugh Jackman?"

"Right. So You Do Remember?" She Said With A Warm Smile. Good For Him. As Someone In The Customer Service

Chandler nodded. "Still want that hot and medium, right?" He confirmed, keeping himself busy behind the bar as he continued to talk to her about the pets. "They actually have some adoption event coming up at the end of this week." He informed her and nodded as she commented it was hard not to adopt all of the cats. "Yeah, I also have a dog at home so I'm keeping my limit at one of each 'cause I'm not gonna turn into the crazy cat lady in my neighborhood. But his name is Ryan Reynolds - that was what the shelter named him and I couldn't possibly de-Reynolds him, you know?"

"A lot of competitive spirit," she laughed. She hadn't been here very long, but that was clear. "Me too, my sport was running," she said, before glancing over at where some kids were before looking back, "which one's yours?"

Luckily Leyla liked being busy, especially when that meant her business was doing well. If it kept up though, she might have to start a hiring process. "Then I think you'll really like this," she promised, "and if you don't, I'll make you something else." She did want her drinks to be a little healthier than your average bar, and most drinks were, like this one. "I think I've walked past it before, but I haven't yet made it in there. I don't eat much candy, but maybe I'll stop in sometime just to have a look around. I bet you're the kids' favorite person around here?"

"Oh, no worries," she brushed the apologies away, offering a smile to the woman. Valentina had worked behind a bar in the many different jobs she had taken over the years. She knew how demanding it could be when there was a lot of people all at once. "Honestly, I spend so much time around sweet things", or sweet people she almost added, "that something different sounds perfect to me." Plus she was not going to complain if the drink had some health benefits, too. "I work at Cassidy's Candies. That's nearby. And kids are still on holidays, which means that my days are-- busy. Ice cream and candy and a looot of people on sugar high."

Leyla had settled down in a beach chair with her book and tumbler, looking up on occasion at all the excitement around her. She wasn't sure she wanted to be in it all, watching was fine for her. As somone sat nearby, she looked over and smiled as the woman complimented her cup. Her ASL was pretty basic, but it had always been something she wanted to learn. She was mostly fluent in three languages, so it was something she always wanted to add to. "Thank you," she replied, for the words she didn't know the sign for, she would spell it out. Speaking it aloud as she went in case she could also read her lips, "I am going to start selling them at the bar soon. Are you going to play in the game?"

Who: Lara Marie Caruso & @leyla-tehrani

What: Beach Bash

Lara was enjoying being on the beach. Her daughter had run off with her friends to enjoy the last bits of summer freedom they had. It gave her a little freedom herself. She had a snack in her hand, and decided to take a seat somewhere she could watch the rest of the action. Turning her head, she saw someone close by and gave them a wave. “I like your cup,” she gestured, pointing to the Mawk Tales tumbler she spotted.
