my newt (maze runner) headcanons
VEHEMENTLY a dog person. like, he doesn't HATE cats, but he wants nothing more in this world than a golden retriever that he can raise from puppyhood
one time he heard thomas singing in the shower and he laughed so hard he cried
used to say the "c-word" so often that even minho (resident foul-mouth and creator of most if not all of the glader slang) had to be like "dude can we reel it in a little"
he likes to say things like "devious" and "scoundrel"
unbelievably clogged pores. it's a serious issue
can't eat apples with the skin, he has to peel them with a knife
regularly quotes random bits and pieces of early 2000s pop music. he does not know what he's quoting or why he knows it
- thomas: social network
- minho: dazed and confused (the breakfast club is a close tie though!)
- newt: dead poets society
- gally: american psycho
- ben: the benchwarmers
- frypan: superbad
- alby: joker
- teresa: eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
- brenda: pulp fiction
- aris: captain america: the winter soldier
- rachel: the devil wears prada
- harriet: she’s the man
- sonya: little women (but the 2019 adaptation)
- chuck: diary of a wimpy kid (literally any one in the series)
- winston: into the spider verse
i was just playing around with an incorrect quotes generator and these are literally all canon lmaoo
newt - the maze runner 2014
"it doesn't matter. any of it. because the people we were before the maze don't even exist anymore. these creators took care of that. but what does matter is who we are now and what we do. right now."
Alby: can you please be serious for like- five minutes?
Thomas: my record is four but I can try.
Sometimes I think I’m finally moving on and then something or someone comes and violently throws me right back into my Maze Runner obsession and I start to realize I may never be free of it
An interesting demonstration of how the human brain works.
But also something of a lesson regarding perception, and the unreliability of subjective perspective versus objective reality.
You can be extremely certain about how you perceive the world, your "lived experience," that which you "feel it in my heart." But that doesn't mean it's actually true. And it doesn't mean we have to endorse it, or ignore or outright deny objective reality.
That's a "you" thing, not a "we" thing.
in light of recent events as well as a new rise in creating nazi ocs I think this post is an important one to have on your blog if you stand behind your jewish followers or are jewish yourself.
my minho (maze runner) headcanons
sometimes he hits walls and his knuckles used to be constantly red so other gladers were like "please do something else" and so he started playing bloody knuckles with gally and then thomas (i am actually writing something with this)
he used to bunk with newt way back in the beginning of the maze trials but he tossed and turned so much it woke newt up every thirty minutes so minho got kicked out
one time before the maze trials the kids in section A had a (terrible cafeteria-made) hotdog eating contest and he got second place
if he ever gets a cat he intends to name it shithead
on occasion he can be found a drinking about ten fluid ounces of pure saltwater because it keeps him "on his toes"
frypan once made lasagna and minho ate 90% of it which deeply upset the rest of the gladers
he regularly has to be reminded to brush his teeth
