“And then we’re going to put your tiny feet in the water so you can see how that feels, does that sound good Princess?” Blake cooed as she carried her daughter across the sand to where her father was putting together a little camp area with a umbrella and blankets for them to sit on. He’d managed to get it up now but the word she’d have used a few moments ago probably would have been more fighting with the umbrella - it had been a little funny if very sweet because she knew he was doing it for the good of their baby. “It’s looking amazing, you did a really great job.” She didn’t speak as he dropped a kiss on Mira’s head, just allowing them that moment together before continuing to bounce her gently to keep her calm, laughing at the theatrical display of self satisfaction. Well, what else could she expect from him? “Here, let’s put you down on the blanket my love so you can spend some time with your daddy.” She’d become so used to talking to Mira all day when they were alone she couldn’t even shut it off when in the presence of others. Settling her down gently before dropping onto the blanket next to her so she could tip her head back to enjoy the warmth of the day. “If anyone at that big Pride party could see us right now they would probably think we were the most uncool people in the galaxy.” Actually she kind of was, it was Leo who had more of an edge to him.
-
“Ah yes, come here baby girl,” He said after Blake spoke about placing Mira on the blanket. He watched as Blake did so with such care. He smiled at his daughter who was looking toward the colors of the umbrella above her head before moving her gaze to Blake that had moved to lay down. “Speak for yourself, I’m pretty cool and so is my little spawn.” He said moving from his back to lay on his side to face Mira and Blake. He moved his body a bit more to help the sand beneath the mat mold to his body. “And besides I like this party.” He said admiring Blake’s complexion in the sun. “Though your daddy is going to the after party with Uncle Xav that’s for sure.” He said bringing his attention to Mira once again, his voice always becoming more melodic when speaking to her.

Her heart was hammering already, even before he whispered her name. He said it like a magic spell, like a whispered wish, like a… prayer. In those four small syllables she heard him asking for the world. And despite herself, she knew she’d give it to him.
She wasn’t surprised that he’d kissed her - she knew his heart well enough to have heard him ask - but she was surprised to find herself kissing him back. Pulling him close. She realized now that she’d been wanting to touch him all night, settling for fixing his hair and eating his food, when what she’d really wanted was this.
This.
She kissed him with a passion she hadn’t remembered she was capable of, but it came back to her easily now. Everything came back now. The body she’d long since memorized. This feeling, like lightning. And the knowledge of how completely and absolutely they’d always been able to overthrow each other.
Because, unlike with anyone else, with each other, they’d willingly given their power up, placing it in the other’s hands.
She could feel that happening now, and that’s what finally woke her. She couldn’t do this. She wasn’t the girl she’d been. She needed to keep her power now, because she had someone at home who needed her to have it. And Leo did, too.
She pulled away, maybe too slowly, and shook her head as she caught her breath.
“I have to… leave…” she whispered.
-
It shouldn’t have surprised but it did… the familiar nip and pressure that was her kiss was his again. she tasted just as sweet as he remembered. he couldn’t believe it. it made him even more responsive, more present to take all that she had bestowed upon him. When she reached out to him, he did too, holding her face to bring her closer. He had completely lost all thoughts that didn’t surround her.
a pathetic exhale left his throat when her mouth left his. his mind instantly crying out for more. More of what was once his. He pulled away as slowly as she did. His eyes fluttered open to look at the beautiful flush on her cheeks and lips. Hearing her whisper had knocked him out of haven that was created between their mouths.
“Don’t leave, stay… please.” his eyes heavy on hers, wide with longing. he swallowed, trying not to let his pride keep him from saying how he really felt. He wanted her, and he wanted to tell her this. He wanted to confess his love and win her all over again. But reality and fear cooked its’ way back to the forefront of his mind. She had left him before in a situation that was far worse than spilled popcorn. She had left him with scars that he was forced to cope with. Still, somehow, the notion of her leaving and him not seeing her again was far worse. “I don’t know when I’ll see you again.” His voice was coated in vulnerability as her kiss had brought all his emotions to the surface.

Katz just looked at him as his ex-husband was mentioned. “Maybe if enough people say it you’ll believe it on day.” Oliver and he were in a good place. They were supportive of each other. Katz would always love him. He’d always have a special place for him in his heart, but he had to do what was best for himself. Oliver wasn’t a good environment for his creative process. He didn’t sign up to take care of someone else like that and get nothing in return. For better or worse didn’t mean much when there was no better. “At least we’re more functional than you and your wife.”
-
Leo just laughed, but was a moment delayed. His senses were still weary, but he could certainly hear the ice in Katz’s words. “I’m still sensing some hostility there Kitty Katz.” He waved a palm gesturing to Katz’ invisible aura. Leo didn’t know too much detail of why his favorite pair of husbands had called it quits. He only knew that his trio had turned into three shattered relationships. Leo, however, didn’t like it one bit once his partner was brought up. His pulse racing faster with alcohol in his veins. “What the fuck is that suppose to mean, man?” Leo questioned, his voice no longer in a lighthearted slur, yet his body was unable to straighten up. “You shut your mouth, my marriage is fucking functional.”
YOU | 2.03 “What Are Friends For?”
What’s something your muse has done, in canon or in a thread, that just makes you Love ThemTM?
God, I hate that I love him because he's so fucking annoying. He's the type muse that'd whisper in your ear what he wants to do. And there are so many questionable things that's done. But I can't help but love how charming he is? Like if he's sincere about anything, it's how he genuinely means every ounce of affection he gives away. Even if the quantity of that affection is again - questionable - even if he means it. He's just my lonely emo boy, and I just want him to feel loved without looking for it everywhere but himself.
i be like “idc” and then stare at the wall for hours with alternative sad music playing in the background thinking about how i ruin every good thing that comes my way

Humming to herself as she dropped tea bags into the two mugs she’d gotten out for herself and Leo to have tea in, Blake glanced over at where the man stood holding his daughter. He was a natural actually, which some might find surprising considering how he’d reacted to becoming a father and the way their daughter had come to be, but as time passed the woman was coming to understand it wasn’t that shocking at all. Leo doted on the baby and had since she was born three months ago, which filled her mother’s heart everytime she watched it. Pausing for a second with a soft smile playing on her lips, only snapped out of it when the kettle clicked signalling the water had boiled, bringing her attention back to the task at hand. She was in the process of pouring boiling hot water into the second mug when the man’s question was asked, making her almost drop the kettle. “I…what…?” Blake faltered as she set it down on the counter to save herself from danger, hand still gripping the handle, not daring to turn around. “What … why does that matter?”
-
Leo watched as Blake froze in place, and he couldn’t help but laugh. It was amusing to him just how doe like Blake still managed to be even though he had met the lustful ridden woman she was inside.“I was just curious,” He said as if it was an obvious reason to ask a question, albeit much too casually. His fire chaotic sign was flaming ever since the passing of his thirty-fourth birthday. “Because Mira’s three months now.” He said bringing his attention to the now sleeping baby girl, he held with just one arm. Mira was now sporting such a full belly now that was covered by a duck onesie. She was denser and no longer felt like the tiny newborn he had met on that fateful day. She was now an infant. He had settled her down slowly in her bassinet for a nap. “That means you should be fine now right? Come on, it’s not an awkward thing to talk to me about.” He encouraged before he moved to sit at a seat nearest to Blake. As soon as he said those words, he heard them, and realized he was asking her to be open with her sex life while he was keeping his closed. But he brushed it off and continued on with his charade. “Spill some tea.”

Ren was playing this Escape The Ex game on expert mode, and she had to say, she was killing it. She knew it wasn’t sustainable; both she and Leo would be in Blake and Mira’s lives forever if all went well - and forever was a very long time to avoid someone. But for now she was expertly avoiding seeing him, and thinking about him, and thinking about anything at all. So it was working.
She was on her way home from work now, and Max was at her mom’s, and she was looking forward to a rare bit of quiet alone time when she got back. She had her headphones on, and her favorite Strokes album playing, and all in all it was looking like a great day. Until she saw who was sitting on the steps of her building. Her stomach dropped and she stopped in her tracks, and even though he’d seen her now, she was still thinking about turning and running away.
But, she knew, this was hard on him too. He’d brought it on himself, and on her, and on Blake, but it wasn’t as though he’d been the only one. If Ren or Blake had just been honest with each other and mentioned Leo’s name once during their friendship, all of this could have been avoided. Secrets caused this mess. Maybe talking would fix it.
Still, there was a bit of nervous anger in her voice when she finally spoke, pulling her headphones down around her neck. “What do you want, Leo?”
-
Once he saw her, he got up from his seat, keeping himself in between her and her door. “Serenity, I-” Leo began to say but was cut off by her question. He brought his palms up for a second before settling his arms back down at his sides. It was his poor attempt at showing she had nothing to be afraid of, even though him showing up in front of her home uninvited wasn’t already unnerving. “I just want to see you, to talk to you... I feel like there’s much to be said between us.” He said, his gaze never leaving her face. He missed her so much already it was ridiculous how these past several days felt longer than their decade apart. “I-I understand if you don’t want to talk to me, but I had to try one more time Ren.” Leo stepped one step closer to her but then also to the side, giving her a choice to talk to him or just close the door on it forever.
