Episode 20.
I think we all need a day or maybe a month to recover from wtv just happened in this episode.
I pray for our little boy. I know they won't do that. I hope the writers won't do it. But they did so many things i thought they would never. But they won't. I hope they won't.
Let's just recover first.
Episode 18.
Okey, What was that ?
How did we go from wait maybe this is going somewhere nice to this chaos ??
I didn't mind that some of the "romantic" scenes felt a bit forced, not all of them just some of them.
But then I expected I don't know, that she would find out about Meryem sooner in the episode, maybe the episode would end with something concrete that pushes them together. A hug, a hand holding, a word, something that will be concrete that they have a chance.
How did we go from that to her pushing away from him and rightfully so ?
What was that ????
i’m not joking when i say i’m perfectly okay if kingdon ends up taking SEASONS to build up. i was raised by boothbones & stablerbenson i can promise you i’m in this for the long haul
ἔστιν ἄρα (therefore it is), 2025
(inspired by @two-bees-poetry - still fascinated by the poem lady macbeth grants you an interview, it's my favourite <3)
I love how every time we see a scan of the Doctor, their hearts are in different shapes and different places.
Not wildly off, just... creatively interpreted. Like regeneration rolls the dice on “anatomical whimsy” every time.
As a new who fan (i wasn't born when old who stopped airing) who discovered doctor who in her teens i tend to forget that Christopher Eccleston's doctor is what got me hooked. I remember being soooo angry and disappointed to discover that there was only one season of Eccleston and i nearly stopped watching then of course i loved David because who doesn't
I always forget (somehow) how perfect Christopher Eccleston's performance as the Doctor is. The anger, the rage, the determination for revenge because he's fresh from the War, and yet the joy when something Good happens. When something Good comes along and proves him wrong. I love him so much
When he said : when will I retire ?
Cihan answered : the day I die.😭
cihan's lawyer is the person i feel bad for the most after alya
Throwback to episode 17 : The divorce episode.
What would have happened if he didn't find Uğur there ?
Ümü made the album photo, that Deniz showed his mother, in an attempt to prevent the divorce. ps : I adore her ❤️
Anyway, Cihan came home late at night, and he found the album.
Looked at the picture of him and Aliya on the horse. Stood up and you could see that he was determined to do something. Something had clicked in him.
He then went to the hospital. Once he got to her office, he found Uğur there, he hit him, and chaos issued. We suffered the jealousy trope and whatnot.
What would have happened if Uğur wasn't there ?
It's not uncommon for Cihan to show up in the hospital to see Alya for no reason at all.
But that day, that night, what would have happened ?
gonna hold your hand when i say this. the reason rtd keeps connecting this era back to ten is because ten is the most popular doctor. doctor who was at the height of it's popularity in 2006-2009. you people act like it's a crime to make a call back to what is objectively a very important time in the doctor's life. when moffat and chib were showrunner ten and his companions were rarely mentioned and when they were it was done in a way that was caricature-like and silly. for basically all of eleven's era it was as if NONE OF IT HAPPENED. it makes complete sense to me for rtd to come back and finally bring his own writing back to center stage when that writing is what made the show so popular again. for 15 years rtd fans have heard about river song and fish fingers and custard and now that ten isn't being completely ignored by the narrative people get borderline offended about it. you can't crash out because you were forced to think about ten for the first time in forever, when ten is a huge part of why the show even exists as it is now especially when ncuti himself has said david tennant is his favorite actor/doctor.
There was this scene a couple of episodes back. Where Alya told Cihan that they left her all alone, with no one to turn to when she needs to, no one to hug for comfort.
I can't seem to find the scene.
But her hugging Cihan when she is in trouble again and turning to him for help (or him being there for her, we haven't seen the 20th episode yet) with her mother.
Somehow, the parallel brings me comfort for this show.
