Chain of Acheron, Helltrooper Hawthorn “Tha plan? Don’t die, and tha least bloodied buys drinks.”
Stout, loud and spiky best describes this Khemharan Desert Dwarf. Hailing from the eastern side of the Granite Mountains, Hawthorn was formerly part of the shock troopers known as the Khoragad, or Dust Devils (or Cactus Men, but don’t say that in front of him). He and his flails would tear through the battlefield and none could ignore him.
He joined the Chain a while back, towards the beginning of Ajax’s conquest of Khemhara. Doesn’t do well with plans, prefers the tried and true method of “whack it until it falls over,” or, the true Dwarven way. Likely didn’t make it onto the Rosso Cielo because, uhhhh, who travels by water?
He will have to, eventually, but he isn’t going to like it.
Has strong opinions on stoneworking (sandstone or it’s not worth it) and ale (cactus based), but is otherwise quite civilized. Just… Don’t stand to close to him in a fight. And close is a relative term.
In game terms he’s absolutely a Mountain Dwarf Battlerager barbarian. I like the idea that despite the obvious cactus imagery, when he joined the Chain, it was mostly Vaslorians who hadn’t ever seen a cactus before, so they called him their spiky plant (they weren’t going to call him rose, that’s for sure).
I was having a hard time thinking of him, but then suddenly he came to me all at once and now I desperately need to do something with him.
“See? It all turned out in the end. What do you mean, ‘stealth operation?’”
if you have an axolotl fursona you are legally required to advocate for their survival in the wild, sorry

Dungeons and Dragons, but your character must be a self insert, and class is determined by your current abilities Barbarian Must have a demonstrable temper, go off I guess Bard Must be able to play an instrument Cleric Must be involved in a religious organization Druid Must have demonstrable knowledge of, or passion for nature Fighter Must beat the DM in physical combat (hope your DM’s a wimp) Monk Must practice a martial art Paladin Must have a cause that one actively supports Ranger Must be able to fire a kind of ranged weapon accurately Rogue Must sneak up on the DM (Hard mode: steal their dice) Sorcerer Must have a powerful family heirloom Warlock Must work for a powerful entity (Corporations, The Government) Wizard Must have a College Degree or a 3.0 GPA If you can’t be any of these you start as a commoner, and may become one of these classes when you finally satisfy these conditions.
“The Chain will be unbroken. None shall be slaves. The truth is my pursuit.”
“The Chain is my family now. My honour is tied up with theirs.”
- Mountain Dwarf War Magic Wizard.
- 3′9″, she/her, biromantic asexual.
- Lawful Neutral.
- Her nickname comes from both her red eyes and puffy red nose from years of drinking. Inspired by this, she has taken to using cherries in her brewing.
- She keeps her chestnut brown hair short and her face bare, though she does have some sweet sideburns.
- She is a practiced brewer and an expert cardsharp, and often can be found in her downtime taking other Chainlink’s money in games of chance over drink. To Cherry, the Chain is her family.
- She hates the ways of her fellow Dwarves in capturing and keeping slaves, and despises Ajax for facilitating such injustice. If she didn’t hate Ajax before Blackbottom, she sure does now.
- As a Vaslorian, she is devoted to the Chivalric ideal of Truth, and strongly believes in the maxim: “The Truth will out.”
- Cherry is crass, and speaks her mind even when it is not to her social advantage. She is practically minded to a fault.
- She joined the Chain in Blackbottom around the same time as Sweet. She is extremely hesitant to speak on her past, even more than the other Chainlinks. Once, while extremely drunk, she shared that she had left her past behind after waking in a shallow grave, seemingly resurrected after the explosion that killed her family.
- During her service to the Chain, she became an assistant to Staff Sorcerer Nails, developing evocation and abjuration magic useful for combat on the battlefield and protecting her fellow Chainlinks.
- During the Siege of Blackbottom and the Fall of the Chain, Cherry was not one of the Chainlinks who boarded the Rosso Cielo, instead meeting up with another group independently to make their way to Capital on their own. Currently looking for a captain willing risk the wrath of Ajax in taking them across the Bale Sea to the meetup in Capital.
idk if uquizzes are still a thing that anyone cares about, but my love for quizzes will never die, so i’m back with another one! i made a dnd class quiz focused more around personality and mindset and less about what abilities you’d like to have in the game.
also, if anyone is interested in a subclass quiz for any of the classes, let me know! i’m totally down to make those, i just don’t know which class to start with haha

Glamour Bard
Traveler, Author, Mercenary. Prior to joining the chain, Bark hitchhiked and drifted the timescape, writing and spreading tales of “his” exploits. He’s fond of his guitar for spinning his tales but will use the harmonica to cast a quick spell.
He decided to join the chain after what happened in alloy, seeing opportunity for adventure. After encountering Ajax with the rest of the chain, Bark feels closer to his company than anyone from his previous lives. Given the name Bark for his surprising lack of skill in combat. Despite being a less than average fighter, Bark keeps morale up among chain members and has made many friends.
I don’t have plots, I have several hundred cool, but vague characters and unconsecutive scenes that may or may not belong in the same universe
