“ᵀᵒⁿⁱᵍʰᵗ ᴵ ᵍᵃᵛᵉ ʸᵒᵘ ᵐʸ ˢᵒᵘˡ ᵃⁿᵈ ᴵ ᵃᵐ ᵈᵉᵃᵈ·”

-Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the opera.

It was as if she was in a beautiful dream. Her spine arching for another step, as she lost herself in the sweet melody of the piano that echoed above her head.

At that moment, the girl knew she could lose herself in her own essence, in the talent she knew she had and, of course, she was not ashamed to show it. Turning from side to side, feeling the cold air of the hall touching her pale skin, leaving a delicious shiver to spread down her spine. She could feel the eyes on her graceful figure with every movement she made, the sighs of admiration, the stage lights illuminating her in ecstasy. That was her home, where her deepest desires were perpetuated. The glory and praise of an audience was all a respected ballerina could dream of, for her entire existence.

With the last note, she placed her foot on the floor gracefully, ending her performance and finally opening her eyes. She was alone again, lost in the immensity of her delusions. Hori gave an exhausted sigh, looking at her own reflection in the large mirrors that were scattered across the walls that surrounded her. She brought a delicate hand to her tight bun, undoing it and letting the long dark locks fall over her figure. Her eyes analyzed every little curve and detail. These were the only moments when she felt beautiful. Magnificent in her own decline. Even if she was exhausted, even if her body could no longer stand upright. Obsession was already blinding her.

And that's what she was.

That's what she needed to be.

Hori let out a sigh as she looked at the clock above the front door. It was almost nine o'clock at night. She thought of her mother. Her worried eyes and her sweet voice soothing her, asking why she was late again, why she end up always getting late. And then, for a split second, she thought of her father, and his dark eyes staring at her in silence. A silent trial where there were no lawyers to defend her.

Kneeling on the wooden floor. The ballerina began to gather her things, putting them in her backpack, ready to go out and face the bright lights of the city and the sound of people returning from work or drunks having fun in the streets. However, the sound of the hall door gently creaking as someone entered took her out of her thoughts, causing her to turn and face the figure watching her. The light from the corridor began to illuminate the hall, leaving only a large blanket covering the girl on the floor. Until it began to get closer, taking in her figure before closing the room, and darkness took over completely, returning to silence.

The curtains had already been closed. And the show could barely begin.

Hello! I'm Lau and I'm just starting a small blog to post The development of stories for original characters that I am creating.

At first, this is just a hobby to post little things and some drawings that I make. But after graduation, I intend to major in literature.

English is not my first language, so I apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks for reading this far!
