People are like: "Oh no! Nightcore has been reduced into sped up!" or "Oh no! Daycore has been reduced to slowed down!"

My question is why the fuck does Nightcore mean sped up and Daycore means slowed down?

I thought: Nightcore = Slow and ominous music plays in the night. Daycore = Fast and cheerful music plays during the day. Not the other way around.
