My new au!
In it, Darktail becomes kind.
But the Smoke... She's a cold-blooded killer!
Darktail was just following her orders, fearing his own mother. He saved Needletail from death, but in the future she would still die protecting Violetshine. Sleekwhisker is just as rude here, but still softens and even in the future will become a devoted warrior of the shadow tribe!
After the death of his mother, (Smoke drowned in the lake along with the Onestar.) he continues to be seen as a cruel cat, like Smoke.
Tawnypelt supports him, because she once faced the distrust of her fellow tribesmen.
[I think Sleekwhisker and Darktail would have become a couple, but they wouldn't have had kittens.]

The Squirrelflight feels bad,

Alderheart and Jayfeather offer her to temporarily leave her post. The Jayfeather assumed that the Squirrelflight had lost its memory.
But the deputy hisses at them and says that everything is not all right.
Tomorrow, Alderheart finds a crushed blackberry near the leader's cave, and a squirrel lies on it. The leader and the healers are confused, the Squirrelflight says that this is a sign from the star tribe. Jayfeather doubts this, because the Moon Pool is frozen and the warrior ancestors remain silent.
The deputy says that if Starclan really wasn't in contact with them, then how could she have woken up?
Bramblestar leaves his position, a Squirrelflight comes in his place, and without hesitation, chooses a Berrynose as his deputy....
