no thoughts, head empty, just mysterious small town au
grian is a journalist who got into some trouble after digging too deep into a missing persons’ case; pearl invites him over to stay in her small town since he needs the peace and quiet. he thinks itll just be a simple vacation, but finds the town and its inhabitants to be far more than they seem.
yumyulack truly is the funniest character concept on that show.
He is an alien bounty hunter. He is 15. He killed a whole bar full of neonazis. He gets night terrors and has to sleep in his parents bed. He shrinks people and imprison them for his own amusement, he is still bullied every day at school. He went to hell and bullied every demon there, called satan a big bitch. One of his dads calls him yummybear
No one is doing it like him

DREAM SMP CHARACTERS | TECHNOBLADE
Oh to live in a weird little town with gloomy weather and strange weird sounds in the woods and hushed whispers about strange sightings and an alarming amount of hauntings and a concerning amount of eye motifs and a library with conveniently placed section for everything that's relevant to the mystery and cloaked figures sneaking around and the occasional uncanny person and weird notes and maps and books and stuff being found around the town and oh to live in a weird little town with a mystery
I dont miss vhses or vcrs but I do miss how personal seeing a movie felt back then. Like, physically going to a Blockbuster or a Hollywood Video, wandering the aisles and looking at hundreds of cases and the art that decorated them, the actual choice of weighing it, "do i want to see this, or this?" not knowing if the movie would be there next time you visit. And then going home and having to physically put it in, maybe you have to rewind it cuz whoever had it last is a dick or maybe you're trying to fast forward through trailers until you get to the movie. It made watching a movie at home feel more like an event.
Streaming is like, beyond convenient and so is piracy (yarhar maties), but it largely feels so impersonal, you dont really have to strategize, you dont get that weird judging a movie by its cover affect, and a lot of streaming specific movies are just so bland, it feels like the magic of watching a movie has been stripped away and murdered, now movies just feel like novelty time sinks.
I've really enjoyed going to a smaller not amc not regal movie theater chain because seeing movies like nope, like black phone, like crimes of the future in these places that care about the aesthetic and ambiance really feels like "oh, the magic isn't dead, marvel and Netflix are just ruining it"
And idk the point of this rant. Just thoughts.
