It's Hilarious To Me When People Complain About AO3 And Its Policies, And What They Allow On The Site

It's hilarious to me when people complain about AO3 and its policies, and what they allow on the site - but it's ESPECIALLY funny when people complain like "Why can't the freaks make their own site and just go there?"

Sweetie... AO3 is the site for that. Y'all invaded our space.

Wattpad and FFN still exist. Go there. They're as shitty and G-rated as you want. You can't have the luxuries that AO3 offers if you're gonna be a little bitch about its policies. Imagine walking into a strip club and complaining about the alcohol and naked ladies when there's a god damn Dennys next door you could have gone to. Christ.

Skip Google for Research

As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.  It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms

As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.  As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.

Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.

Google is so powerful that it “hides” other search systems from us. We just don’t know the existence of most of them. Meanwhile, there are still a huge number of excellent searchers in the world who specialize in books, science, other smart information. Keep a list of sites you never heard of.

www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.

www.worldcat.org - a search for the contents of 20 thousand worldwide libraries. Find out where lies the nearest rare book you need.

https://link.springer.com - access to more than 10 million scientific documents: books, articles, research protocols.

www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.

http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.

www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.

www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.

www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free

Lembas Bread (Lord of the Rings “authentic” Elvish bread)

Ingredients:

2 ½ cups of flour 1 tablespoon of baking powder ¼ teaspoon of salt ½ cup of butter 1/3 cup of brown sugar 1 teaspoon of cinnamon ½ teaspoon honey 2/3 cup of heavy whipping cream ½ teaspoon of vanilla

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425F. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt into a large bowl. Add the butter and mix with a well till fine granules (easiest way is with an electric mixer). Then add the sugar and cinnamon, and mix them thoroughly.

Finally add the cream, honey, and vanilla and stir them in with a fork until a nice, thick dough forms.

Roll the dough out about ½ in thickness. Cut out 3-inch squares and transfer the dough to a cookie sheet.Criss-cross each square from corner-to-corner with a knife, lightly (not cutting through the dough).

Bake for about 12 minutes or more (depending on the thickness of the bread) until it is set and lightly golden.

***Let cool completely before eating, this bread tastes better room temperature and dry. Also for more flavor you can add more cinnamon or other spices***

And Eddie aint no Billy 2.0, for fucks sake, the man spends half of the season on the verge of tears and/or mental breakdown (completely justified ofc). His entire arc is literally that he looks scary and mean, but is actually SOFT, not some cool bad boy-gay icon.

He probably died as a virgin too lol

really truly cannot stand when Steve is painted as a fragile softboi who will crumble at an unkind word.

Steve is a (barely) reformed mean girl. His instinct is still going to be to bite back meaner. We literally see it as recently as season 4 when Dustin is getting too close to the bone, Steve goes too mean. He immediately cops to it and apologizes (because, reforming) but that's still how he's wired.

His skin is thick, his mouth is mean. Steve is a bitch (and I like him so much)

Disco Elysium cartoon was drawn at the event. It's short, but you can read it if you like.

I'm talking around day 1.

He looks up at the sky from time to time.

As if possessed.

I just wait for him.

I don't want to disturb him.

What do you see?

Who are you talking to?

Kim: "Lieutenant? Any more rain and you'll catch a cold."

You "Hm? Oh Kim."

You "Sorry to keep you waiting. I was doing a little mental gymnastics."

Kim "A little..."

Shivers─

Rainwater runs down your cheeks. A cold wind blows past and your body freezes. Lieutenant Kitsuragi's hand gently caresses your shivering back. The rain clouds over Martinaise will pass in a few moments.
