Can we just take a moment to stop and appreciate the fact that Maiev did this throw one handed?
D E M O N H U N T E R S , disciples of Illidan Stormrage, uphold a dark legacy, one that frightens their allies and enemies alike. The Illidari embrace fel and chaotic magics—energies that have long threatened the world of Azeroth—believing them necessary to challenge the Burning Legion. Wielding the powers of demons they’ve slain, they develop demonic features that incite revulsion and dread in fellow elves.
Kore was surprised to say the least, not that Tier had stopped him on his way to work, he rather enjoyed their chat now, but by the basket thrust into his hands as the Rendorei nervously stuttered out his explaination.
The first item that reached his claws was the blanket, soft and plush, furlike silk that teased with the promise of warmth and comfort. An rare oddity for the hunter who was known for prickly spines and spikes.
Claws clicked against the bottle, which he was careful to inspect before popping the cork to sniff the fragrance. The aroma was savored, the combination of notes a fun riddle to try and puzzle out.
But it was the third surprise he found that made his face split into a grin. Uncovering the ceramic container, the immediate smell of spices, rich juices, and wafting steam could not be mistaken. The giant was an absolute fan of the prim man's cooking and couldn't resist snagging a few, or twenty, morsels to snack on. The delightful snap of grilled vegetables, the succulent meat rubbed in capsaicin, had Kore moaning.
It was so hard to stop, but not wanting to be rude he put the lid back on to be devoured in peace once he was out of sight.
The fourth though.... Threw him.
Each gift catering to a sense he still possessed, touch, scent, taste, and all could be shared. He TRY to share the snack. But the tiny bell?
"For Jari to wear?" His bat bound lover was a riot of chimes and tinkles even at his quietest moments, a living wind chime of music. Kore held up the bell and shook it, it's soft voice a pleasing song, ment to be enjoyed without being invasive and annoying by over use.
"I see... But..." He set the basket down before taking Tier's hand in his his claws.
"I have one lover who is known for his bells and baubles. No chance for him to sneak up on me. But perhaps this might be better suited for the other, considerably more quiet one?"
He took his time looping the bracelet around and tucking it carefully under stiff cuffs so not to get in his way.
"There. Now you have your own music I can associate with you." He smiled broadly, so proud of his idea before he pulled the smaller man i to a hug.
"Thank you Aurora. It means a lot to me for you to put so much thought into something for me. I'm truly touched."
After much thought, a fair bit of sweating over details, and heaps of uncertainty all the same, Tiernen had arrived at what he felt- hoped- would be an adequate gift. And while he’d nervously given the massive Illidari his gift in person, that did not stop him from ensuring it came with a hand-written card attached. It was only proper.
For Korellan, on your birthday. I chose these things because I thought you might enjoy each of them in full, without the need for second guesses or imagining. While I’m constantly amazed at everything you and Jari are, and the things you can do, I know I take for granted the things I can do without a care. My hope is that you will enjoy your birthday, and these little items, just like that. You are, undeniably, whole just as you are. (And if I do forget and take for granted even the tiniest smile I get for this, please forgive me.)
Warmly,
Tiernen
Included in the… well, what proved to be a small assortment of packages, were: one very soft, and very large blanket for Korellan to bask in its feel; a lovely vial of massage oil, bearing an enticing, masculine blend of vetiver and spruce, with notes of tangerine; one rather elaborate platter of juicy, grilled meats as well as veggies; and finally, one dainty, silver bracelet with a single, silver bell- for Jari to wear, and for Korellan to enjoy.
Momoa Magic 😍
It wasn’t hard to track the Ren’dorei, not for a hunter who could see through walls. He just looked for small slip of the night sky, the closest he’d ever get to seeing again, and made his way round the Tavern. At the Kitchen’s loading door he stalked the prim and proper gentleman, who was no doubt on break and sneaking a smoke. The wrapped package in hand wasn’t anything particular to look at. The butcher paper the best he could find that wouldn’t rip, even then it was still comically haphazard, not fully covering the wood in some places and held closed with twine that looked more bondage then present. Well that’s what you get when a blind Illidari tries to give gifts ok! “Aurora!” He called not wanting to startle the poor man by sneaking up behind. “Glad I caught you before my shift. Jari said you were usually up early, guess he wasn’t kidding.” The brown paper rectangle was offered without fanfare or fuss. “For you, to go with Jari’s gift. Figured you could use it considering your insistence on being proper.” His tone was light as the grin tugged at his lips, exposing the sharpened fangs as he teased the other. Between the pair of Illidari, they WOULD get him to loosen up...a bit...eventually. Maybe talk him into going out “casual” and leave the cravat at home. “You can open it when you get off work. I’d hate to ruin your good boy reputation and someone see you taking a moment away from work for something personal.” @tiernen-morningwild

Illidan likes to perch atop things and be dramatic, strutting around, etc. because he spent so long in a cramped cell that just being able to move around freely is something he savors
10. What was the hardest lesson they had to learn as they got older?
“Eventually, one way or another, you will lose everyone and everything you ever cared for. So you better appreciate them while you have them. Stop and take in the moment, savor it, because it could be your last. I wish I had helped my mother with her baking the last day I saw her. Told her how much I loved her and thanked her for putting up with two rambunctious boys with more patience and grace then anyone else I have ever known. I wish I had told my father how much I looked up to him, wanted to be like him, and thank him for all the lessons he gave me on how be a man. I wish I had taken my brother with me to Silvermoon that day. He just wanted to tag along, spend time with me, feel included. I should have told him he was my best buddy and I’d always look out for him. I lost all of them suddenly, before I could tell them goodbye and I still feel it deep in my bones. Brother and Sister Illidari that fell before their time, the people I knew when I was a man lost to the scourge, even Ajarik. I should have told him a lot of things before we went in that Vault. We wasted a lot of time. Now I’m much more aware that at any moment it could end. I try not to waste an opportunity to remind those I care for how special they are too me.”
For Kore, Tiernen presents a beautiful set of carefully chosen personal care and grooming products, neatly packed in a buttery, leather bag. Some are clearly meant to be personal-use, but in truth any of these can be used by someone else, should the Illidari accept. Beard oiling? Maybe a little hand and claw attention? As you like~.
Secondly arrives a small case of artisanal beer- the first of many to come in Kore’s new Beer of the Month subscription. Only the finest, craft breweries to taste. Happy Winter’s Veil, and many more to come.
