Societal pressures that tell women their worth is determined by how closely they adhere to gendered expectations. A trans woman is a woman whether or not she chooses to undergo surgery. Her identity is rooted in her self-determination, not in fulfilling a set of physical criteria imposed by patriarchal norms.

Alienate whom exactly? The people who don't care about the meaning of the label they're applying to themselves? You shouldn't be worried EVER about alienating people who are objectively not part of your group/movement; this is common sense. You should be gatekeeping the true meaning of it ruthlessly, or just give up and accept that it's going to be unrecognizable in a few short years.

I WANT you to wear dresses and skirts and pink and heels and wear makeup and do whatever it is you like to do that makes you feel like you're somehow female, but I also want you to understand that those things DON'T make you female or have any proximity to womanhood. You're allowed to express yourself through fashion and personality without lying and claiming you're female

I can't forgive the TRAs for turning the near universal trauma of girlhood into some convoluted proof that gender dysphoria is innate, and being some flavor of trans is the only explanation for those feelings. As a Jewish woman I’m usually hesitant to post anything political with regards to the Israel-Gaza war but what happened with the hostages bodies in gaza is sickening. a baby and small child were strangled to death, and their mother’s body was not returned. btw that’s only one of the horrible deaths that happened to the hostages. people who think they’re freedom fighters are delusional, freedom fighters do not kill civilian babies with their bare hands

here is my stance on the war:

Jews and Palestinians should live in harmony in Israel in an ideal world. two state solution would work too, if only hamas cared about that (spoiler alert, they don’t. they just want to kill every israeli and jew, really anymore not supportive of them, they can find) (it would only work with a government that cares about its people) (best case could be just Israel with a unified government filled with people of different backgrounds)

The innocent palestinian civilians deserve to live peacefully and safely (only way that can happen is without hamas)

The hostages should be returned. the Israeli government should have gotten them back ages ago, and it’s disgusting that this has gone on for so long
