Near can’t think of a more ridiculous way to spend the holiday season than having Kira accompany him while looking for a limited edition festive model train set. Or, Near braves the Christmas shopping crowd and runs into Light Yagami.
Silly fic of Near and Light Christmas shopping that I wrote as a gift for myself 🫶 Light finally gets Ryuk a silver Game Boy Advance SP, and Near doesn't know what to do with the information that Kira is a Mario fan.
Finally He is small and scary I made his model last year, but was only able to finish him now 😞
Everyday i wake up and get whiplash knowing that this image of ghetsis exists and now, I need more people to know about it.
why is he so adorable and babygirl in this wtf, help????
thinking about Matsuda in the epilogue. The manga epilogue chapter, set a year after yellowbox, where Matsuda and Ide discuss Light and Kira, even though the world’s mostly gone back to pre-Kira. And it’s clear from Ide that Matsuda’s theories around what happened on the 28th come up a lot. Matsuda thinks that Near used the notebook on Mikami, and that he fed Mello the information he needed to manipulate him into kidnapping Takada and proving the notebook as fake. And it’s so, so painfully clear that Matsuda is desperately clinging onto anything that would make Light seem more sympathetic. That all the cards were stacked against him, that Near was secretly evil and self-serving too, that maybe Light didn’t even have a choice in what happened at Yellowbox. Because, as Ide said, Matsuda cared about Light. More than the others. He’s wracked by guilt over what happened- who wouldn’t be? Matsuda’s light-hearted, optimistic personality he even managed to keep during the whole Kira case is reduced to a facade, a mask of his old self. He’s depressed. He’s angry. He’s grasping at straws to justify the past five years of his life spent devoted to and admiring a serial killer who saw him as nothing more than the dirt beneath his boot. Someone he thought he could trust. Someone he literally risked his life to protect, when he told Mello he was acting as L, so prevent Soichiro from having to expose Light’s identity as L. Kira may be evil, but Light was good, right? So Kira couldn’t be truly evil, because Light wasn’t; couldn’t be.
i’m thinking about Matsuda in the epilogue.
based on my 2.1. hsr story quest experience
I think the saddest mischaracterization of N is that sometimes, he's just not allowed to be as much of a bastard as he was meant to. Like, I understand where the idea of him being mild mannered and cordial and pleasant comes from; he's not an overtly aggressive character who's an asshole at every turn and him being kind is definitely an aspect of who he is. It's just not all of him and it's a shame we don't utilize his bitchy side more. But that side of him, specifically the way he can be very passive aggressive and/or condescending I feel is slept on and we should utilize it more.
And my personal favorite, from Pokemon Adventures/Pokespe:
And obviously, he's not like this the majority of the time. His dialogue mostly ranges from at least tolerating the people around him without any rudeness to being a genuinely nice and caring guy (especially in B2&W2, where he is noticeably kinder.) I just think it's a bit of a crime that we ignore that he at least has the capacity to behave this way in the first place and I think he should be allowed to do it more often. I want N to call more people stupid. As a treat.
