note! hi everyone, im really sorry for the long, and i mean, LONG waiting time. motivation comes and goes for me and i'm really sorry you were all at the end of that stick. this chapters not that long but i hope you guys can forgive the wait. thank you to all the comments who waited and send me good wishes. i'll try to update soon again ♡
"come on, stand up, we have to measure you." a soft voice spoke out, their words gentle as they ushered the giant baby kaiju to stand up fully. "and analyze, your entire genetic makeup." mina added, trying to explain the situation as best as she could to the scared kaiju.
the baby kaiju whined, scared still of professor sato, seeing him as a stranger. you turned to see that ken had finally woken up, taking a small nap on the couch earlier from the emotional stress.
even though he wasn't the baby kaiju's biological father, it was clear as night and day that he had found himself growing closer to the baby, emotionally claiming it as his own. the same in fact could be said for you.
"what are you doing?" ken let out a yawn as he spoke, rubbing his eyes as he went to stand to the right of you. his dad turned around, quickly but softly responding. "we need to examine her so that we can plan a training regimen to protect emi from predators."
your eyes widened a bit hearing the name, not being able to hold back a smile at the love story professor sato had told you countless times. you heard kenji stutter, his words almost caught in the back of his throat. "emi? what? huh? you named her after mom?" he asked, his tone confused but slightly affectionate hearing his mothers name.
"i think she would approve." professor sato spoke, his voice holding a sweetness to it, almost like a smile was behind it. he looked down, reaching into his bag on the side and pulled out the same colorful bunny that helped the baby kaiju, now known as emi, stay calm when fixing her dislocated arm.
"okay emi, stand up nice and tall!" he happily spoke as he raised the toy up. you watched as kenji's face dropped, almost in a slight shock. "oh my god, my dad is a kaiju whisperer." you turned to see emi get up with ease, her red scales shining against the laugh of the underground lair as she chirped excitedly.
"yeah but you're a kaiju dad, that's even more shocking." you joke with him, instinctively moving to the sides and hitting your hips with his own, making him chuckle. "well that makes you a kaiju mother." you smiled at his response. "i know, i know." your voice holding a vulnerable emotion at the sentiments you had found yourself growing for emi.
you turned to your left, watching mr. sato's voice turning serious for a second. "mina, please prepare to insert the micro tracking device." he said as mina floated closer to emi. in an instant, his voice changed back to being soft. "emi, can you do like bunny?"
he held the bunny up again, stretching out their plush right arm to be up. emi chirped as she adorably held out her hand, her beady eyes full of curiosity. mina watched as she pulled out an injector, naturally floating to emi, who looked a little fearful.
mina injected her quickly, offering her words of reassurance. "good girl!" it was always sweet to see the twos interactions. emi looked up, enjoying the lack of pain from the tracking injection.
you and kenji watched in awe, taking in how mina listened to professor sato with ease. the urge to snap a photo gnawing at you, but you resisted. "mina, treat, please." mr. sato asked politely as mina gave him a pink donut.
emi saw it, walking closer in joy at the sweet treat. "and before we eat, we always say, 'itadakimasu!'"he says excitedly. emi walked closer, until she suddenly stopped. her cheeks puffed up, making you and kenji back away instinctively.
"professor sato, i believe that emi is experiencing a bit of nausea from the medicine." mina said, as she floated away too. the sight would have made you laugh if it wasn't for your concentration on not being barfed on.
"uh, dad, step away. seriously." kenji said as he grabbed your hand, pulling you with him. "professor, i really think you should step away." you said concerned at his stubbornness.
"oh she's fine! itadaki—" professor sato was cut off as emi's nausea finally caught up to her, she vomited, sending mr. sato flying as his back hit the wall. "—masu." he said in shock.
you watched as his glasses slid from his face, his body completely soaked. your mouth gaped open at shock at how far he flew. it was quiet for a second till you heard emi slightly giggle, he chirps ringing through the room. you couldn't help but to snort and laugh with her, trying to stop yourself from laughing at kenji's dad who laid there helpless.
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ (each paragraph is a compilation scene in the movie)
"get back here right now, missy!" kenji yelled out in his ultra form as you fought to pick her up with your ultra form. your hands scrambled around, making the both of you spin. emi ran away from the both of you, making you both lunge at her, only to trip in unison and give up as you both laid there.
you now suddenly sat on the couch, watching the tv. kenji hands fumbled the ball, making it slip out of his hands as he struggled to pick it up. "that's another loss for the giants, making it six in a row." the commentator said as the giants coach watched with a straight face.
kenji sat on the toilet reading the newspaper, jumping slightly at the door slamming open. emi peered inside, chirping for him but was quickly pulled away by your ultra form as kenji slammed the door shut. his one second of peace was quickly ended when mr. sato walked in without a shirt a towel around his waist, slamming the door open. he casually walked in like he owned the place as kenji yelled into the newspaper in annoyance.
you stood in your ultra form as you grabbed emi, helping her put on her arm floaties. professor sato stood pointing at a chalkboard, showing three steps. "1) swim. 2) catch. 3) eat." each one with an adorable drawing of emi doing those steps.
you watched in fear as you watched emi sink down in the water from the lair. your hands pulling at your hair as you moved to go into the ocean. only stopping when you saw kenji in his ultra form diving down and quickly swimming to get her.
you ran on a giant treadmill of sorts, with emi behind you. a blue holographic image in front of you of three cute fishies to entice emi's motivation to catch the fishes.
kenji sat hunched over on the table, his head on the palm of his hands. he looked up to see his dad come to him, holding a cooked container of noodles. he set it down gently, making sure he ate. he left as you came in holding a blanket. you gently placed it over his body, making sure he was warm. you smiled, placing a kiss on his lips before walking away with kenji smiling.
emi held the familiar giant blue baseball bat as she copied kenji's swings. she swung, practicing her form to hit baseballs much better than the last. now kenji stood, helping one of his teams members. he fixed their hand placement on the ball and then did a swinging motion once again. the member copied him, smiling at his hit.
professor happily read an book to emi, kenji, and you and he copied the ultraman poses. he made laser sounds, jumping up in joy. it now showed ami reading a cartoon ultraman picture book as her daughter peered over, excitedly beaming at the photos.
kenji stood focused as he hit the baseball with a loud slam. the crowed cheered for him, jumping with excitement as the roared in excitement. emi cutely posed as she put on her water floaties, quickly cutting to her being held in ultramans arms as he guided her swimming, while chasing fishes. he pushed her forward, emi swimming in small pushes as she caught a fish in her mouth.
a holographic city showed as KDF jets chased after the four of you. emi ran following you as you ran by her side. kenji ran with professor sato on his back, making you laugh at the strained emotion kenji had.
the games commentator spoke up. "climbing back into contention, the giants are just one game out of first place!" kenji bat swung forward hitting the ball that came flying at him. his teammates cheered out as they jumped from the benches.
ami's voice spoke. "the giants are really coming together, thanks to a more mature ken sato." she said as they showed ken talking with his teammates, everyone focusing on him, showing respect to one another.
emi jumped up from the holographic training, a laser beam shooting out of her mouth, hitting the fake jets and making them explode. you jumped up in your ultra form, picking her up and hugging her for the progress she's made.
"we're going to the playoffs! sato's home run clinches a playoff spot for the giants!" the commentator yelled as ken gave his teammates high fives and smiles, making his way down to the locker rooms.
"i don't know what's happening with sato, but something has changed for the better. not only is he shining on the field, but he had brought this team together." ami spoke as it showed sato laying down hugging you in his ultra form. you held emi in your arms, as professor sato laid on emi's head, the four of you lulling to sleep.

note: hi everyone! there's not much action going on here in this chapter but i just really wanted to give you guys another chapter. i may do longer wait times between uploading chapters like i did with this one since i deal with motivation issues but im gonna do my best to continue uploading the story till it's finished <3
professor sato stared at the wall of the elevator, his body slowly descending down from the first floor of his sons house. the doors opened, showing ultraman's face blocking any movement forward. he could only stare at him silently as kenji spoke.
"dad, im not asking for complaints, guilt, or criticism. not right now, i just... we need you help." he stepped aside out of the way from professor sato to walk in. a soft gasp escaped him as he looked at the scene before him.
he recognized your ultra form in front of him, holding down what looked like to be a kaiju. a baby one at that. he couldn't help but stare at awe at the sight in front of him. he eyes and mind couldn't believe that an actual baby kaiju laid in front of him.
"y/n, is that you?" he asked, confused about you and his son being together in the same room. he held no knowledge of your connections together. he would only worry about where you would go in the time that you weren't fighting kaijus that attacked. he shook his thoughts off to acknowledge the sight in front of him.
his hands touched the scales that littered their skin. "incredible." before he could say anything, kenji who sat on your side started to talk. "she's hurt dad. we were attacked. i don't know what to do." his voice was shaky, almost as thought he could break down in tears looking at the injured baby.
your heart clenched at the quiver in his voice, wishing you could comfort him but the priority of your babies comfort stood first in line. "she got loose, i should have been there." he gasped out. "no kenji, i should have been there, i was literally there. she got out right under my nose." you said holding the baby in your arms.
professor sato hands neared where the syringe of green liquid was stuck on the babies body. "shh shh" professor sato tried to comfort the pink creature as they whined in pain and fear. "dad please! careful with her." kenji cried out, anxious to see the kaiju he had grown to love was injured.
this was all new to him. growing up as a single child, he had no one to worry about besides his mom when they moved to the states. he had no close family, no younger siblings. he was truthfully forced to grow up too early.
but since the day he had first held the baby kaiju in his arms, he had found himself feeling a way. attached. love if you would call it that. he had grown to love them the way a father would. it was a sweet bittersweet feeling.
"it's okay, its okay, he's not gonna hurt you." said while you rubbed the babies head to soothe them as your other hand found kenji's back to rub. professor sato gently but quickly pulled off the syringe as he watched the way you two interacted. he didn't want to assume but there was a closeness between the two of you.
"it's good to see you again, professor." he smiled while turned to mina. "hello mina." he said holding the green syringe. "it's been a while." mina's voice was gentle, a slight tone of joy seeing the professor after a long while. "it has. can you do me a favor? can you run an analysis on this?" he held out the syringe to the robotic arm that reached for it. mina's 'eye' scanned the syringe.
professor sato turned towards the two of you. "dad, please, do something, help her." kenji whispered out. "please professor." you added on in desperation for help. for anything. he nodded and kneeled slowly with the help of his cane. "mina, it looks like like she might have a broken arm. can you confirm?" he turned to mina who began to scan the arm. "yes, that's correct. she has a mid-humeral fracture with associated hematoma." she finished explaining just when the the baby kaiju cried a little bit. "it's okay it's okay." professor sato comforted her.
mina began to speak up once again. "i have completed the chem analysis, professor sato. it's a powerful sedative, but it's harmless." you let out a breath of relief hearing that the liquid wasn't poisonous in any way. you felt kenji grasp the hand you one had on his back in his own. he squeezed it a comforting manner, making you smile internally.
"can you synthesize a 100 ccs?" professor sato asked mina, which she agreed too. "good, we'll need more." kenji heard his dad, turning to him in shock. "more? why more?!" he yelled in fear. "kenji, you may not agree with me on anything else, but right now, i'm the best chance she has. so please, please, let me help." he softly begged to his son. kenji let out a soft 'okay', giving his dad a nod.
professor sato's torso turned as he reached for the bag at his side. he pulled out a small bunny, one adorned with colors of yellow, green, purple, and red. he held it out to the baby kaiju, allowing you and kenji to see it. "dad, bunny?" he inquired softly.
"it always worked on you." he said softly as he clicked a button. a familiar melody began to play as your baby began to coo in joy. he played bunny on the babies arm, letting her watch it with curiosity.
he then began to sing with the song. "🎶 b-i-n-g-o, b-i-n-g-o," he grabbed his metal cane, placing it in the crevice of her arm. "okay now hold her steady, please y/n." he said as you listened and placed a gentle but sturdy grip on her.
mina's robotic arms came out from the ground as they grabbed at the baby kaijus arms to hold her arm steady. professor sato aligned his hip with the fracture at her hand. with one swift movement, he pushed against it, letting out a crack. in an instant, a cry erupted from the baby kaijus arm from the pain.
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
you and kenji sat on the couch of the small room in his base. your eyes watched at you baby kaiju who laid in their containment unit, sleeping peacefully.
professor sato walked into the room with his cane holding a mug. you instinctively shot up from your seat, rushing by over to help him sit down carefully. it's not that he was at an age where he would need help but after his injury from being the past ultraman, you found yourself building a habit of helping him walk.
you led him to sit down on the sofa, taking away the mug he held and placed it on the table in front of kenji. "bad habit." he said looking at kenji who tapped his foot anxiously. you moved back to your spot on the other side of kenji, sitting closer to him for comfort.
"i'd say we did pretty well considering the circumstance." he spoke trying to continue a conversation. kenji turned to him. "dad i- i really appreciate you showing up, i do. but this doesn't make you ultradad. you know, we're not suddenly gonna be best pals."
kenj sat hunched over his right hand holding his face. the atmosphere had done tense. you felt your own body turn rigid from the feeling. as cliche as it sounds, you could almost cut the atmosphere with scissors from how thick it was. you turned to kenji, trying to hint to ask if you could leave, not wanting to be rude or intruding.
you felt his free hand next to you grab you hand nearest to him, silently reassuring you that it was okay for you to listen. professor sato watched the site in front of him once again, taking in these small acts of closeness between the two of you. staying silent once again.
"kenji, y/n, i need to show you something. mina, news please." what was once a window, turned into a tv as cheif officer of KDF, dr. onda, was shown talking on national television. you felt yourself tense up, recognizing the man that you had learned was behind all the kaiju attacks.
"fortunately, the KDF was able to contain the damage and no one was harmed. but the kaiju escaped, and it would appear that ultraman and the new ultra hero are actually defending the beast. the KDF are conducting a massive search for both the creature and the two ultra heroes. we will protect the families of this city. we will get to the bottom of this and we will eliminate the threat."
the news showed clips of the baby kaiju running around, then switching into the KDF jets searching for the missing kaiju. your baby kaiju. professor sato turned to the both of you, who sat intensely watching the new till it was turned off.
"kenji, i have been tracking onda. even y/n has when we would work together more frequently. and until now he's been content on just killing whatever kaiju attacks the city. but somethings changed. he wasn't trying to kill the baby. he wanted her alive. i've known onda for a long time. he is brilliant and cunning. and he will never stop, not until she's captured and you're dead. until you're both dead.
you head snapped towards professor sato, shocked to actually have to acknowledge the truth. kenji's eyes widened, his body had turned stiff as the three of you stared at the baby kaiju who shivered slightly as mina sang to her. you felt your heart clench in fear of her being alone, without you, the two of you.
professor sato sighed at the sight, turning back to kenji. "you and i don't have to be best pals, kenji. but can we at least agree that she is the priority?" he said staring at his son.
"yes, she is." kenji responded looking at his father while you gave him a quick nod. professor sato turned to the two of you. "do you have a plan?" just in that moment, mina came out to the two of you, laying out the plan.
"we thought returning the baby to her natural habitat would be best, professor sato. but the location of kaiju island remains elusive." she spoke. professor began to walk around, almost anxiously. "even if we could find it, without a mother to defend her, the baby might starve, drown, die from hypothermia, or another kaiju could eat her as a snack-"
his panicking rambling was cut off my kenji who spoke sternly. "i got it, i got it." his dad then turned to the two of you, his voice silently desperate. "we have to raise her, the way her mother would have." he said. his eyes were pleading for the two of you to agree as he walked away.
kenji stood up from his spot, pulling you with him as your hands were still intertwined. he then let go as he neared his dad, raising them in shock. "so you're suggesting that you and i- uh ultrapeople, people who are supposed to fight these things, should train this baby to essentially kick our butts?" he spoke as his body jumped with shock with each step he took.
"kenji, she needs us." professor sato spoke softly. kenji turned to you, looking into your eyes for what you would have to say. it might have been your attachment speaking or your mutual agreements with professor sato but you knew that not teaching her was not good.
"we have to kenji. i rather her kick our asses than know that she's struggling to even survive. i need to know she's safe and sound." kenji could only nod slightly, giving you a soft smile as he turned to his dad to agree.

note! AT BOTTOM!!
a giant aircraft flew through the air, the tail of the vehicle turning around as stands came out, creating a soft landing. a vertical door came down, showing the five of you together, like a family.
you walked in the middle, between professor sato and kenji, your hand in the tanned males arm as he gently guided you down the slanted walkway. you smiled at kenji quickly, turning to listen to his dad as he spoke.
"i thought it would be good for all of us to get out of the house." he soft voice spoke as you both trailed behind him, the view capturing your eyes. it was gorgeous to say. a soft golden hue hugged the grassy mountains, their trees casting shadows that made the view almost look unrealistic. it was like staring at a painting, only this time, it was all in front of you.
you couldn't help but gasp seeing the giant body of water glimmer under the soft rays of light. the sight would never bore you, no matter how many times you've seen it. "it's exactly the same" ken said in awe, feeling equally as captivated. you turned around to hear emi's chitters of excitement as she stared at the life around her.
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
a traditional shoji door slid to the side as professor sato let you in. "haven't been in a few weeks" he grunted as he pushed the sliding door open. you smiled at him, helping him open it how you usually would. it was a sad thought but he was getting older and sadly weaker, so you tried to help him as much as you could when you both worked together.
"thank you y/n." he said smiling, to which you nodded with a smile as you flickered the lights to the room on. kenji walked in, his eyes filled with awe stepping into the all familiar room. "so many great memories here." the words left his mouth as a breathy whisper, letting nostalgia course his veins.
"i repurposed it into a bit of a lab after you moved away." professor sato spoke up, walking slowly to the map that hung on the wall. you quickly rushed to him, placing your arm around his waist to help. he smiled at you, turning back around to walk to the map with you.
kenji stared at the map on the wall, his fingers grazing the post-it notes that stuck on it. pins and threads of red yarn stuck on the map, with photos of his mother hanging around. "you know your mom, she could never sit still." he said, an audible sound of love lacing his words.
the tanned male turned to his dad, "you did search for her." he couldn't believe it. he had grown to believe that his father stopped looking for her after she disappeared. that just maybe, just maybe, his dad actually gave up on her. his heart ached slightly, remembering how he yelled at his dad when they first saw each other.
he was so stupid. he felt stupid. how could he accuse his own father of giving up on his mother? on his wife! the literal love of his life!
he snapped himself out of his thoughts, taking in the sad look in his dads eye. "yes... god, i miss her. her heart, her passion for life, she showed me what it means to be human." his voice cracked. god he really did miss her. what could he do not knowing where she was. he turned to the side, facing the map with you helping his stability.
his hand reached out for her photo. she looked so happy. one could mistake her for an angel. and that's what she was. to him at least, that was his angel. he very reason for life. he felt your hand lightly squeeze his shoulder in reassurance, to which he squeezed back with his own. he was thankful he wasn't alone all those years kenji was abroad.
"i-im so sorry, dad." kenji leaning dad and placing his hand on his dads other shoulder. you smiled seeing professor sato take his hand back and place it on his sons. they had gradually begun to get closer over the duration of taking care of baby emi. it was heartwarming.
you slowly walked out of the room, letting the two of them reconnect. it had been a while since they both had time for one another, to be father and son. not instructor and student.
you feet lightly tapped as they walked towards the kaiju, watching as she hopped around in excitement. mina flew around her, making her play almost a game of chase. "mind if i join you both?" you ask, making emi run to you. "hi emi, how's my baby doing? are you enjoying yourself?" you ask her as she rests her head on your small palm.
you couldn't help but laugh at the size difference between you. mina floated down to you. "we can play a game of catch, it appears to be emi's favorite." at the sound of catch, emi opened her eyes as she ran to the empty patch of grass up ahead.
"a game of catch sounds amazing!" you say, you walk over the small bag of baseball equipment that kenji brought for moments like this. picking up the ball, a regular sized bat, a glove, and even dragging emi's bat over, you handed the items amongst the three of you.
mina took the glove in her mechanical arm as you passed emi her giant bat. you kept the baseball in your hand, deciding that you'd be the one to pitch it to emi, with mina behind to catch the ball if the adorable kaiju were to miss.
you all took your positions, emi's tail slightly wagging from excitement. you couldn't help to giggle as you launched the ball over to emi, now waiting to see if it was a hit or strike.
emi missed the ball by a smidge, making her slightly sulk as mina caught the ball in her glove. you called out to her. "it's okay baby! just try it again, you got this! show mommy how much of a good player you are, just like daddy!"
she cheered up, lifting up the bat as mina threw the ball at you. you caught the ball, holding it in the palms of your two hands. "ready?" you asked emi as she chirped back in confirmation.
"here it goes!" you yelled out as you launched the ball towards her. it almost felt like slow motion when you watched desperately, nervous to see if she'd hit it this time. a loud smack was heard as emi's bat smacked against the white ball. the ball flew towards you, making you yelp as you jumped away to avoid getting hit.
almost as luck was on your side, an arm circled around your waist, preventing you from falling to the side as their other hand caught the fast paced ball in their grip. you looked up to see that kenji had been the one to catch you, making you sigh in relief.
"you okay y/n?" he asked with worry in his eyes when he saw how fast the ball was flying to you. she was lucky to have had him come out of the room with his dad at the sound of a clang coming from emi's baseball bat.
"yeah!" you slightly yelped out in shock. he chuckled, glad to see that you were okay, although even with a bruise of mark on your face, he'd still find you beautiful in his eyes. "atta girl. here let me help you."
kenji smiled as he pulled you more upright so you could stand on your own. you stood straight, your ankle suddenly aching from applying pressure. it wasn't bad, but it wasn't comfortable and you'd knew it would get in the way of you being able to play.
you slightly winced but kenji had caught on to the slight stumble you had as you tried walking it off. "nope nope, not on my watch, come on." you almost yelled when you felt your body lift off the ground, but saw that it was only kenji.
he turned towards his dad, "dad! i'm gonna treat y/n, we'll be back in a bit." his dad nodded as he turned to watch mina and emi play. you couldn't help but grumble in annoyance at having to leave the game, you knew you'd have to make it up to emi soon.
kenji made his way up to the aircraft you all had came in. he walked with ease up the ramp, surprising you with how easily he had carried you. his eyes linked with yours, giving you a small smile as his footsteps tapped at the metal flooring.
it wasn't long till he found a restroom, softly setting you down on the toilet seat so you wouldn't apply pressure to your foot while standing. kenji bent down to the cabinet in the restroom, pulling out a first aid kit. "here it is." he mumbled to himself as he pulled out a roll of bandages and ointment.
he turned towards you, rolling up the bottom of your jeans to see a cut on your leg. he winced seeing the redness and the slight blood that pooled from it but quickly grabbed a rag and wet it. using the wet rag, he wiped away lightly at the cut to clean it up.
you sighed at the feeling of the wet rag, bringing some comfort to the area. you watched as he twisted the bottle of ointment open, applying some on the tip of his finger. he softly rubbed the ointment onto the wound, making you smile.
"you remembered." you said looking down at him. he smiled up at you. "yeah i did, i had to remember if i wanted to help you properly with your wounds the way you helped me with mine that one time." he said as he began to wrap at your ankle with the bandages he took out, making it tight but with not too much pressure.
"thank you kenji." you say smiling getting ready to get up. "of course, anything for my girl." you couldn't help but feel your face heat up, a noticeable blush on your face for him to see. he chuckled seeing you red, making you even more nervous. 'curse how good his laughs sounds'.
you nervously looked around, trying to avoid becoming even more flustered cause of the man in front of you. kenji looked back at you seeing you looking the other way, he couldn't help but smile at how you avoided him.
how badly he wanted to kiss you. it had been a little while since he did. the both of you had been busy with his dad around and trying to train emi, it felt like moments of privacy hadn't happened in a while for the two of you.
before he knew it, he was in front of you, the palms of his hands turning your face look at him. your face was red as your eyes slightly widened at him suddenly appearing in front of you. his fingers delicately tracing at the outlines of your cheeks, pressing each mark.
"hi," you awkwardly said, mentally facepalming at your words. 'hi?? seriously??'. kenji smiled still, snapping you out of your words. "i've missed you." you heart melted, he was always so sweet with his words, it was easy to become flustered.
"i've missed you too. i'm right here." you said reaching up to hold onto his hand that held your face. "i know, but i've missed this, having privacy with you. i feel like we barely have enough time with one another, just me and you." he softly says, you smile now knowing that you weren't the only one feeling that way.
"i've missed that too. i love all the time with emi and your dad, but i miss those times we had just for ourselves, but it's okay, cause we'll find time when we come back." you say smiling at him softly.
he was silent for a second, his eyes flickering between your lips and your eyes. you couldn't help but blush feeling his stare. "i want to kiss you so bad." he suddenly blurted out. his tan skin held red on his cheeks, making you smile at how shy and bold he was. you were the same way either way.
"i never said you couldn't." you whispered back making his eyes widen. it didn't take long till you felt his lips slam against yours, his hands pulling you closer by your neck to instantly deepen the kiss. he was desperate. it was obvious as day that he had missed the feeling of your lips on his. but gosh did you feel the same.
your hands found his hair, messing up his neatly brushed locks. kenji moved more forward, kneeling on his knees to reach your height as you bent down as close as you could to him.
the kiss was needy, like an animal that hadn't eaten in weeks. he was craving more even while he still kissed you. kenji pulled away, catching you off guard as his lips found your neck, playing soft kisses to every inch of it. a gasp escaped your mouth as you felt him bite down, his tongue licking at the indent right after making you shiver.
kenji suddenly separated from your neck, standing up off the floor. you stared up at him, watching what he was going to do. strong, firm hands grabbed you as he threw you over his shoulder, causing you to shriek slightly as the sudden movement.
"k-kenji?!" you yelled out, confused. he was silent, opening the door from the restroom as he moved quick through the hallways. his hand found your ass, grabbing a handful with a squish as you turned red from his sudden boldness. 'oh god what did i get myself into'.
it wasn't long till he stood in front of a door and opened it. he walked it throwing you on the bed, being gentle to not hurt your injured ankle. you gasped when he followed in trail, crawling over you.
like a fly in a web, he hunched over you like a spider about to eat their prey. "can i? please." was the only thing that left his mouth as he stared down at you. you could only nod as kenji's lips found the crevice of your neck. his tongue trailed down, slightly sucking like he was trying to find something.
and he found it. a soft moan left your lips as you closed your eyes in shock at the sensitivity of your sweet spot. he couldn't help but smile at the sweet sounds of pleasure you made, it made him excited.
he quickly captured your lips in his, his hand running down the side of your torso, gripping at your waist to keep you under him. your hands attacked his disheveled hair, hearing him groan from small pulls at his locks.
kenji rose up, pulling you up with him as he flipped the two of you in bed. he now laid down with you hovering over him. grabbing you by his neck, he pulled you down to him, giving animalistic licks at the side of your neck, only to nibble at the lobe of your ear slightly.
kenji's hands found your ass, his thumbs kneading at your skin through your shorts. "kenji? what about your dad?" you asked nervously, worried about taking a long time. "oh god, i forgot about them." he instantly sat up, you still in his lap. "i hope you don't mind, next time?" he asks making you laugh.
"next time then." you say smiling. kenji gives you a quick kiss on your lips, now helping you get up off the bed carefully so you don't fall. the both of you walking back, slightly embarrassed for taking a little while longer than planned.

note! GUYS IM SORRY - im not trying to tease you all or anything, or uh c***block you all but i'm just so hesitant to write more steamy scenes. trust me i am not innocent at all, i just worry about younger readers seeing that and ruining themselves.
before anyone starts saying they're not pure at all at a really young age - some of you guys are still minors. it's my responsibility as the adult here to look out for you all. besides i feel like a scene here is just too out of nowhere, not enough privacy or the chance to throw this into the story line without messing it up a bit.
now how do you all feel about me just giving you guys some 'action' more later on? as a separate chapter, it's tied to the story BUT it's barely mentioned at all so it could be separated for those who don't really like this type of content?

note! making all these little original scenes with doug is so fun aaaaa i have complete control over this story >:3 need to have this man in bed and just rub his back while feeding him cheese
"what do you mean?" you asked him, perking an eyebrow up. "well, if you follow me, you'll see." doug makes a move back to the door where shelly was left at. you towed behind him, shocked to see she was still there, waiting.
"she has the raised blisters of a —" doug looks back partially, slightly sad to see no one had followed him. "... a virus." he turns around sad only for somebody to tap his back. he jumps up, only to see that it was you. "i'm here doug, you can keep explaining to me."
not able to contain the slight smile on his face knowing that you actually were listening to him, he waved you closer, making you move more next to him. "it's a bit interesting actually. look at the texture on her skin, the raised bumps are blisters, commonly found in viruses such as cold sores and fever blisters. in fact, she appears to have more blisters than the other students. she's had it longer than them."
"you don't mean-" "that's right. she was the first one contaminated." you stared at her in curiosity, taking in the rash of blisters around her lower mouth. "doug, this might be a theory but do you think this virus was consumed?"
doug looked back at you, "what makes you think that?" "her blisters are mostly around her mouth, they look like they're barely spreading to the rest of her." he looked back at her, taking the sight in.
"i think you might be right, but we must find some evidence to really know we're correct. you might just be onto something." you smiled, happy from his praise.
doug stared at shelly. "i would love to get inside your head." you barely caught onto his whisper. shelly suddenly ran away from the door. "oh, i guess she's gone to commit murder somewhere else." you snorted.
"hm?" doug raised an eyebrow at you. "you always make the most out of pocket phrases sound so casual, something about it just sounds so funny." "is that a good thing?" he asked softly. "it is, it means you make this horrible situation not so bad." you say smiling at him.
"thank you y/n, i appreciate it a lot. let's return to the others now." you nodded, following next to him back into the room where the rest of the teachers were, only to come into wade and clint fighting.
"oh you'll sneak around huh? sneak around like a little hobbit! no way! i'm taking the fight to them like a fucking orc! and that is the difference between you and me. i don't wanna scurry around the hallway like a common squirrel!" your hand instantly covered your mouth, whispering to doug, "what the fuck did we just come into?" he mouthed back an "i don't even know."
"both of you be quiet!" lucy stood up, pushing the two of them away from each other. "the only way we're gonna get anywhere is if we turn our frowns upside down and try to get along, okay?" wade and clint gave each other a side eye. "you know how i beat the terrorists after 9/11? with a positive attitude."
your jaw dropped. "it's true, she did." wade agreed with her. "oh my god. what the fuck is going on." you said quietly. you walked over to the small student chairs, taking a seat. if you were gonna die soon, you were going to die at least comfortable at one point.
you watched as clint rambled about his book, getting inspired by the three of their small talk for a plan. doug took a seat next to you, constantly moving his legs all over the place. "i miss my chair in the lounge." he said placing his chin on the palm of his hand. "i miss my bed at home." you said sighing, mimicking his actions.
"that too. i wonder if outside civilization is affected the way the school is." you perked up at doug's words. "do you think it's spread out?" you asked worried. "it's hard to say without having our phones, but i really hope that's not the case." you and doug made eye contact, evident worry in the back of your minds.
"son of a bitch! he's infected!" wade shouted, making you and doug turn towards everyone. tracy gasped, hiding behind rebekkah who tried pulling him off. "no, no, no, it's nothing." clint was instantly cut off by wade. "YOU GOT COOTIES MOTHERFUCKER! time for a quarantine!"
clint's pleads fell on deaf ears as wade threw him on his back, dragging him towards the small room you all were in earlier. doug grabbed you by your shoulders, moving you away from the door since you were closest. pushing you behind him, he examined the scene.
"stop resisting! don't resist the quarantine!" wade threw him in, slamming and locking the door on clint. "let me out asshole." clint said hitting the door.
wade walked away, looking at the rest of you. "nobody else go in there!" you looked at the window to see clint bend down, the sound of hurling coming from him. you watched as doug's breathing in front of you heightened slightly. "i'm going in." he made a move, making you quickly grab his arm. "doug no don't go in, what if he really is infected."
he looked back at you. "how will we know whats going on if i can't check him? he's the perfect living specimen. i'll be fine, okay?" you nodded your head, letting him go. he smiled reassuringly, walking towards the door. "doug don't- ugh! i don't care." wade gave up as doug opened the door, closing it behind him.
you sat back in a random chair, waiting with the rest of the group. lucy took a seat with you, a bit upset from wades doing. "hi y/n, how are you holding up?" you smiled at her, appreciative of her efforts. "i'm okay right now, as okay as i can be with flesh eating kids. what about you?"
she picked at her fingers, speaking in a soft whisper. "im okay too. scared, but okay. if i'm honest, i'm a bit confused." you looked at her, signaling for her to continue. "uhm- i don't know how to feel. i'm. getting mixed feelings about wade. and i don't know what to do or who else to talk to." you gave her a sad smile, understanding the conflict in her heart.
"what are you mixed feelings about?" you asked. "since clint has arrived, i don't know how to feel. i feel giddy and all, but i feel bad cause i'm with wade and i don't know if this is just a temporarily fling of sorts."
you look around, making sure no one — wade — was in hearing shot. "lucy, stay true to yourself, but most of all, don't lead anyone on. i know you're confused but don't play it out, it'll end up hurting all three of you. listen to your heart but to your mind as well. sometimes flings are flings and are not meant to be acted on." you placed your hand on her shoulder, giving it a squeeze.
she reached back, placing her hand on yours in a friendly manner. you always did get along with her. "thank you y/n, i'll keep everything you say in mind. i knew you were the right person to come to." she said smiling. you laughed, "me? i don't know about that, im just good at finding solutions."
lucy raised her eyebrow, confused by your words. "are you not dating doug?" you coughed abruptly, completely caught off guard. "w-what?" you stammered out. "it's cause sometimes me and wade would talk and we both thought you were dating at a point. i guess i just wanted to confirm."
"dating?" you asked making her nod he head in agreement. your face turned red, caught off by the many dating assumptions today. "you're turning red y/n." lucy leased you, making you cover your face. "shut up." you said pushing her gently, making her smile widely.
"is there something i need to know?" she dragged out the last word, leaning forward as she batted her eyelashes jokingly. "oh god. i think..." you trailed off, embarrassed. "hmm??" she was having the time of her life teasing you. "i think i like doug." your words were barely audible as you mumbled them out softly.
she gasped, almost jumping out of her chair from excitement. "you think?? or you know??" you flushed more. she was right. you could play stupid and act like you just wanted to be really nice to doug but you had fallen for his almost nonexistent charm, at least to others. to you, he was charismatic as can be.
since you had met him almost two years ago, you had always found him to stand out, and not because of how he acted. doug was sweet, funny, passionate, considerate - he was everything you had searched for in a partner. you chose to ignore it, forcing yourself to forget it cause you didn't want it to interfere but seeing wade and lucy in a relationship made you hold out to some hope.
you nodded your head shyly to lucy, making her cheer for you silently. "i'm so excited oh my gosh! you need to tell him!" she said grabbing your shoulders and shaking you. "i don't think this is really the time for me to be thinking about confessions right now lucy." thoughts of the violent children flashed through your head.
"no! it is the time." she turned to you more, "there is a chance wether we like it or not, that we might die cause of those batshit psycho children. tell him before you regret not telling him sooner. besides, it can go your way, i always thought he liked you."
your eyes widened a bit, "you think so?" she smiled, "i KNOW so, he's always following you like a lost puppy, not that it's bad, but i think he doesn't know how how to put a name to it or maybe he knows, and just doesn't know how." you smiled at her, pulling her into a hug.
"thank you lucy, i'll try to mention it when the chance is right." you smiled feeling her hug you back. your talk with lucy was cut short as a door opened, signaling doug had come back from checking in on clint.
doug began to talk, "excuse me, listen up, please. could everyone please listen up?" everyone walked over to where doug stood, listening to what he was saying. doug's eyes were closed as he shook his head, everyone watching silently. "guys, don't make me ask again. quiet, quiet, please. please be quiet!."
you cleared your throat, "we're here doug, you can say what you need to now." doug smiled, the silence interrupted by rebekkah. "none of us are talking." her voice was desperate to hear anything else.
"rebekkah! quiet please." doug yelled at her like he was scolding a child. "what the fuck doug! y/n spoke earlier and you didn't even say anything." she glared at him, annoyed at being the one called out of the two. "quiet, rebekkah! y/n is an exception."
you smiled, your face heating up slightly and rebekkah just groaned and went silent. "thank you. it is my opinion that clint has been infected with whatever these kids have out there." tracy panicked, placing his hands on his knee in fear. wade on the other hand smiled, proud he was right. "yeah i knew it!"
"but it doesn't seem to be affecting him in the same way. he's only exhibiting mild stomach flu symptoms, nausea, cramps, a little diarrhea, vomiting, mild anal leakage. but! it is my hypothesis that we are safe from him for now." doug continued, "he will not attempt to murder us or tear us limb from limb." lucy couldn't hold back the giant smile on her face.
"he just has the flu!" tracy spoke in an exaggerated way, almost silly like. "hold on a second," rebekkah started to talk, "how do you- how do you know all this?" you all looked at him with curiosity.
"well, rebekkah, i just examined his fluids with two of history's oldest scientific instruments — my hands." you all groaned in shock and slight disgust, you couldn't lie about the face of disgust you slightly made.
"don't worry," doug laughed, "i'm wearing gloves." he picked up his hands, finally in front of everyone's view of vision. "oh no you're not." tracy gagged, holding back vomit. lucy repeated what he said in shock. "oh doug-" you smacked your hand over your mouth, in shock and disgust. there was literal shit and vomit all over his hands.
"god damnit doug." wade said. doug looked at his hands, taking the sight in as he rubbed his fingers together. "i see." some began to walk away, making wade begin to speak. "it doesn't matter. listen, the sub stays locked in the closet. if he gets a clean bill of health at 3:00, then we'll talk."
doug awkwardly walked over to you. "so-" "nope nope. come here. you are not walking around with shit covered hands." you grabbed him by his tie, pulling on him as he trailed obediently behind you.
you were thankful the music room had an in class restroom for the younger students. opening the door, you pulled doug into the restroom. "i should not be in here with you." he said nervously while looking away. you blushed. "doug!" you swatted at him in embarrassment.
you knew what he was inferring, choosing to ignore your beating heart. "you have to wash your hands doug. it's not safe with all those germs, especially cause you're gloveless." he nodded in agreement.
you turned the faucet on for him, "rub all of that off your hands and then i'll give you soap so it can penetrate into the skin properly." doug scrubbed at his hands, rubbing all of the internal fluids from his wrists down to his finger tips.
you avoided the sight, not wanting to gag and make him feel bad. you knew he had no wrong intentions checking on clint, still the sight was not pleasant. doug scrubbed at his fingernails, trying to make it as 'clean' as possible. finally, his hands were bare, back to their original state. "i finished scrubbing my hands."
you smiled, grabbing the soap container and pumping a giant amount of soap into his palms. doug rubbed his damp hands together, making the soap foam up as he scrubbed intensely.
eventually he rinsed the soap off his hands. with your absolute despise of germs, you made him do this over and over again. after what felt like the fifth time, he looked up at you. "can i stop now?" you looked at him, pondering.
"wash it one more time, okay?" doug whined, tired from the same repeated movements. "but i already washed them about five times with soap." "doug just wash them one more time please. i won't be touching your hands if you don't." he instantly shut up, grabbing soap and washing his hands just like before.
he couldn't deny himself the enjoyment he felt when it came to physical contact with you. he wasn't stupid, he was incredibly smart. he'd be an idiot to not enjoy the attention you gave him. it was pure, caring, and genuine. you were the only one who was like that with him.
doug was in love with you. any intelligent and sane person would fall for your charm. with this new situation of life and death, he couldn't lose any moment with you. finally rinsing his hands, he turned to you. "can i touch your hand now, please."
you reached into your bag around you, digging into the satchel like purse. pulling out a portable bottle of hand sanitizer, you motioned for doug's hands to come forward. he did just as asked, letting you pour the antibacterial germex into his hands.
he rubbed the liquid into his hands, taking in the strong scent. you always smiled of peppermint and germex. it was a weird combo he had grown fond of. "now can i?" you smiled, nodding a yes at him.
doug grabbed your hands quickly, appreciating the warmth of your hold against his. he felt too forward but you didn't see to mind. the small room you both were in set into the back of your minds. you found yourself enjoying the brief moment of normalcy in this time of death and insanity.
you couldn't resist the temptation to hug him. and so you did. doug's breathing shook, catching him off guard. his arms wrapped around you, holding you against his frame. your head laid softly on his chest, feeling the beating of his heart that only made yours beat in response.
"i'm sorry our first hug has to happen with everything going around." you mumbled, making him look down at you. his chin now laid on your head. "it's okay, no one knew this was going to happen today, not ever." he spoke softly, his hands caressing your waist softly.
"let's just enjoy this." the both of you sank farther into the hug, just wanting to forget the troubles of the outside world. you had longed for so long to be in his hold. god you wish you could kiss him. doug longed for you the same, resisting the urge. he didn't know how you felt. he wish he knew so his heart wouldn't strain in hope and fear.

note! i got carried away writing this one. i know that there's a lot of doug and you scenes but like, that's what we're coming here for
you stood in front of the mirror in the staff restroom. "god why can't i get this fucking hairdo right, it's so simple." you mumbled to yourself as you struggled to put on the clip you carried in your bag.
it helped with keeping your hair out of your face while you ate. class had already finished, meaning that the kids were sent off to recess to play around the yard and playground that was there.
your hair never stayed the way you liked it, making you groan in annoyance. "for fucks sake! i give up." you shook your head, letting your hair fall back into place as you stomped towards the door, throwing it open angrily.
"stupid fucking cli-" an 'oomph' escaped the person you ran into, making you both stumble slightly. you looked up to see that you had ran into doug. why he stood right outside the staff restroom? you didn't know.
"doug! oh god i'm sorry, i didn't see you there. are you okay?" you asked him worriedly. "i'm okay, it was technically my fault cause i stood in the way." he said dusting himself off as you reached out to help him stand. "still i'm sorry. and what were you doing outside the restrooms?" you asked him.
"i was waiting for you." he says pointing at you with a funny groove to his hand. "me?" "yes, i wanted to see if you'd like to eat with me during lunch." he moved with a nervous bounce where he stood, slightly avoiding eye contact.
"of course doug, you don't have to ask, just sit down with me. i never have anything going on." he looks up happy to hear you say yes, looking a little more confident. "well what about when you're with the others?" "ah save it, you still can, who cares who i'm with."
he smiles. the both of you begin to walk a calm but decent pace to the teachers lounge. "can i ask a question?" doug suddenly speaks up, making you glance at him as you walk. "of course, what's up?" you ask him.
"the sky. but also, why were you yelling in the restroom? i don't mean to pry but it's not often someone hears you yell. ever." you flush slightly, letting out an awkward laugh. "that's so embarrassing, i was yelling cause i couldn't fix my hair the way i wanted to." you take out the black clip in your hand, showing it to him.
"may i?" he stops walking, grabbing the clip from you when you give him a nod. doug tensely walks behind you, his hands gently grabbing your hair in his hold. your in awe at how gentle he is, you've heard so many stories of people always pulling at others hair harshly while styling. twisting the bulk of hair, he moves it upwards, clipping the hair into place right at the middle.
you take the small compact mirror from your bag, looking at your reflection. "it's symmetrical! thank you doug!" your beaming with his help. you couldn't get your hair to not fall more to one side than the other when you tried it out earlier.
"of course. i learned from always watching my sibling style their hair. sometimes they’d force me to do it for them if they were in a rush and was in the middle of doing something else." he says walking with you once again.
"i might just have to steal you to help me with my hair from now on." you say giggling. "i don't mind that." you flush slightly at doug's words. "me either doug. me either." the walk is comfortably silent till you reach the teachers lounge.
doug opens the door for you, letting you walk in first. you give him a smile as you walk to the fridge and grab your lunch you had. it was a small container of cold pasta with tuna and corn. simple and saves you time cause it didn't need to be heated up.
you instantly took a bite with a plastic fork, feeling bliss from finally having something in your stomach. stuffing a couple of bites you watched as doug moved to talk to you, only for him to look at the window in curiosity.
"oh look, carnage!" you looked up from your almost finished meal. placing the container down and closing it, you walked to the windows next to doug with lucy and clint, your bag in your hold.
your eyes widened. "what the fuck." scenes of cannibalistic children running around with what looks like limbs and intestines. blood smeared across their faces like they had just eaten flesh covered them. flesh. flesh.
oh god it was human flesh. they ate someone. but who? your eyes quickly jumped to the gutted body on the floor. the familiar mint green shirt caught your attention. "they got vice principal simms..." you whispered in horror.
"wait- someone call the police!" lucy yelled out in the same amount of horror. "wait! i'm hitting my button!" rebekkah hit the rape button on her jacket, emitting a loud siren. you covered your ears from the loud sound.
pressure applied to your side, causing you to glance down. a hand wrapped around your waist coming from right. you look to your right to see doug already looking at you, you could only flush from his boldness. snapping out of it from the sound of lucy yelling about wade, you look back out the window, with doug's arm still left around your waist.
"they're all surrounding wade." you said in panic. yeah you didn't like him much cause of how he treated doug and everyone else but, he was still your coworker and sometimes a friend if he was feeling nice.
you eyes widened as you saw wade make a run for it. throwing a hit or two with each child that tried to swarm him. you felt bad but you couldn't help but snicker seeing wade stretch out his arm across a all too familiar girl's head, making them fly to the ground harshly.
"what's funny?" doug whispered into your ear, making you flinch in his hold. you called him closer with your hand, making him bring his ear down to you. you brought your mouth close and whispered, "that girl wade just hit hard, she was an absolute pain in the ass during my later classes."
doug made an 'ohhh' face, smiling lightly at hearing you cuss comfortably around him. looking back at the window, with the worst timing while children ate adults or one another, he still couldn't help that warm feeling that coursed through his body and brain. he could honestly malfunction just then and there by the feeling of your waist in his hold and the hot breath you blew into his ear.
he was a wreck. but right now was not the time to be feeling these confusing emotions. whatever they were, as much as he liked the way his body trembled and flushed red when near you, right now was not the time for him to become a mess.
you eyes followed wade as he ran with a swarm of children behind him. nearing the doors to enter the school building, you panicked as you saw him struggle to open it. with a couple of shakes, he threw the door open, slamming it right behind him as the blood thirsty students slammed at it, wanting to get in.
tracy stood near the door of the teachers lounge, yelling into the phone line to reach out for help. "they- they attacked the vice principal. and then they started chasing the-" he suddenly went quiet. "hello? hello? the phones are dead!" your eyes widened hearing that.
a sudden slam erupted from the room. the four of you — clint, lucy, doug, and you — jumped in unison, turning around with a scared scream. doug pulled you into a hold of sorts, almost like a hug, as you both yelled.
wade stormed in closing the door, gasping out of breath. "those kids are fast!" you all breathed out in fear, trying to calm down your beating hearts as your hand gripped at doug's arms around you. "i was twice voted running back of the year. kerry county. i should have won a third year—" he breathed out, trying to take in air. "but it was political!"
"what the fuck are you trying to say!" rebekkah yelled out aggravated by what seemed like gibberish. "do not go out there! those kids-!" wade was cut off by rebekkah yelling as kids slammed their hands against the windows of the teachers lounge.
you all yelled turning around to see them banging their tiny fists against the glass. "oh god." you said disgusted from the oxidized blood on their faces and hands. throwing your crossbody bag over your shoulder, you walked back in disgust.
"oh no, no, no, no! that's angela! angela, it's me, mr. lacey." he looked at the small child whose hands hit the glass. her stare empty yet evil. it was quiet till a quiet "eughhh..." left tracy's mouth.
"look there's dave! dave's going to help up!" outside the recess fence, pulled in a police car. the familiar bearded man stepped out, talking to the kids in front of him.
you watched as he backed away in horror, two of his fingers suddenly missing. running to his car, he began to back up in fear, only for blood to splatter against the windshield visor.
you all yelled in horror. "AH FUCK THIS! i got to do something!" wade threw his sweater to the ground, stomping angrily towards the door. lucy jumped at him, pulling his hand. "NO WADE! you can't go back out there!" wade pushed her hand off. "no let me go!"
lucy breathed out, gasping. "wade don't be stupid! you're gonna die man! they got mr. simms and dave!" you yelled out, breaking from doug's hold, moving to rub lucy's back.
wade rolled his out, opening the door. a animalistic scream came from the blood thirsty child who stood there, waiting for someone to open the door. "OH GOD ITS PATRIOT!" you yelled out screaming with the rest of the teachers.
the boy jumped on wade, his teeth snapping open and close as he tried to get closer to bite — no eat him. wade yelled as he tried pushing him off, eventually flinging the boy into the table in the middle.
you ran to the corner where the vending machine was, yelling as patriot stood back up. clint grabbed a steel cup from the ground, lunging it at patriot... only for it to slam against wades thigh. "OW! what the fuck freak!"
you watched in horror as patriot threw himself at clint, who slammed against the vending machine, falling to the ground with patriot on his body.
"he's gonna bite into your face!" doug yelled out. "yes i can see that!" clint struggled against the boy, stuck in the same predicament wade was in just warlike but now horizontally.
"HELL TEAR YOUR GODDAMN FACE OFF!" doug continued yelling making clint yell back. "you'll look like that chimp woman!" you slightly snorted, but quickly snapped out of it when you saw lucy and rebekkah team up, hitting patriot with an umbrella and sweater sleeve.
"what are you guys doing??! use something better! out of my way!" you yelled. you grabbed the tumbler that clint had mis-thrown. grabbing it by the handle, you walked up to the zombie child. with a swift movement, you slammed the tumbler upwards, striking his jaw harshly.
patriots face contorted up in shock that quickly morphed into anger. rebekkah followed behind you yelling, "let me burn his face!" with a pepper spray in her hands, she sprayed the liquid... only for it to land in clint's eyes.
clint yelled out, pushing patriot off as he rubbed his eye. you moved backwards, hiding with doug and the rest of the group. patriot stood up, yelling at rebekkah with a sort of growl in his voice.
lunging forward, rebekkah quickly moved out of the way, only for patriot to run into the female teacher behind her... the both of them slamming into an oddly conveniently opened storage unit.
the door slammed shut on the two of them, everyone yelling in fear. tracy yelled, "AHHH WHO IS THAT LADY?!" you stared with open eyes at wade who shook the door, only for it to not open. "anybody have a key?" "probably not!"
"let's go!" wade shouted, walking towards the room door to exit. everyone followed after him, clint and you stuck there shocked. "omgosh shes going to die." you said in shock, your hands finding themselves on your face. "we can't just leave her here!" clint yelled out confused. "you bet your ass we are!" lucy grabbed him pulling out with her.
a hand suddenly grabbed yours, looking up to see doug grabbed you. "it's a matter of life and death, and i rather we both live." he pulled you with him, looking constantly side to side to make sure no hungry children appeared.
"move! move!" wade threw his cap behind him in the air as you and doug stumbled behind him. a fellow teacher ran down some stairs. "follow me! i do crossfit!" he ran mindlessly towards the school doors, only to get jumped by a couple of kids. blood splatters making you all yell.
"go, go, go, go, go, go!" you all turned around running the opposite direction. suddenly a child stood in front of you making you all instinctively yell.
"RIGHT IN HERE!" lucy called you all over to an unlocked door, the rest of you rushing in after here. suddenly the same child just outside was inside looking at you all from the opposite door.
"KILL IT! I HATE IT! KILL IT!" rebekkah yelled pointing at him, making you all scream. "wait wait! he's not like the others! and i'm not just saying that cause you're the only black student in school - our differences are what makes life beautiful!" tracy yelled out, rushing his words towards the end realizing how wrong his words sounded.
"what's going on?" the kid asked. you squinted your eyes at him, realizing the familiar kid. "OH MY GOSH! ITS CALVIN!" you yelled out - you hoped he wasn't infected, you absolutely adored him.
"no no, tracy's right! calvin, you don't have a thirst for blood or anything?" lucy slowly walked up to him slowly. calvin looked at her confused. "why would i do that? i'm studying for my english test."
"oh great, how's it going?" doug asked him making you laugh. "hey i'm the english teacher here, i think i should be asking him that. good job calvin, the tests off for you now." you say smiling at him. it might have sounded stupid to worry over a test, but you wanted to give him some joy before things turned violent once again.
"fuck the test!" wade yelled out. "hey!" you glared at him. "we got to seek some higher ground!" wade walked ahead, like the natural born leader he was. all of you scurried after him, with lucy pulling calvin with her.
bloodthirsty children banged at the school doors, wanting to come in. all of you ran up, trying to block calvin's view of the grotesque scene occurring. you ran up the stairs, thankfully in the middle. each of you ran into the music room, with rebekkah in the end. "close the door! close it!"
you all breathed out in relief. "hey hey! is everyone okay?" wade looked over all of you, making sure no one was missing or hurt. you molded your head, still breathing heavily. "can we please take a moment of sil—"
a slam hit the door, making you turn to the doors window only to see shelly — what was left of her — staring at you all intensely. you quickly grabbed calvin, pulling him with you as gently as you could into the other room. "i got him y/n." tracy took him from your hold, making you give him a thankful smile.
you stood in the new room, looking around. "where's doug? doug?!" you started to panic only to see doug come through the door. "oh gosh, you had me worried. don't do that." you said hitting his shoulder lightly. he laughed, "sorry i got held up looking at something." you quirked an eyebrow up, "what was it?"
"i noticed that-" doug's words were cut off with rebekkahs yelling. "can someone explain to me what is going on? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!" "i blame rap music." you pursed your lips, trying to not laugh. you don't know what it was but something about doug's random sayings always made you laugh.
"i mean i hated my teachers in school - i hated them, but i never tried to kill them." clint said shaking his head, looking around the room confused. "they got cooties. that's what they're saying that girl shelly always has. cooties. she's dirty."
you looked up at calvin, confused by what he meant. "what do you mean calvin?" you asked him. "calvin, that's not very nice." lucy said to him in a motherly tone. "no, he's right." you all looked at doug. "in- in a way." doug stuttered slightly as he spoke.
to those who follow me, i’m fully against trump and i hope none of you have fallen for this nonsense of trump saving the app. don’t be influenced. don’t fall for the propaganda.
Just in case any of you are confused, TikTok being banned and coming back not even 24 hours later with a giant "we thank President Trump" message is NOT a win. It's a huge red flag and a sign that this was a thousand percent planned.
it's called dying breed because i am indeed dying to breed that man
masterlist
note! i'm TIRED of how little the amount of fanfics for doug are. but also, i just really love this silly man and i wanted to feed anyone out there whose in love with him as well. i'm honestly also mostly writing this for myself too sooooo.... yeah (о'∀'о)
your fingers tapped at the wheel of your car, impatiently waiting for the line to the school to shorten. the all too familiar cross guard would occasionally let some cars pass or would stop them. you huffed, wanting to get on time to your job.
you desperately needed a cup of tea or coffee, something in your system that would keep you excited to be awake for. besides, your fellow coworkers were waiting for you and you'd be damn if you missed some time with them before entering the world of insane, elementary students.
you loved them, especially some of your more reserved students, but the more rowdy ones felt like a five in one pain in the ass.
finally the line pulled up, and the bearded man was now finally in your vision. "what is up, amigo! no shrooms this time?" he asked, basically begging to fill in his desire of psychedelics. you laughed, "haha no rick, none on me like always, hope you can find some soon though, try the next guy." you joked around.
he smiled, "i think i will, anyways go on ahead, teachers are in lounge as usual." he said letting you drive off. you looked at your side mirror, actually seeing him try the next person. you couldn't help but chuckle at him actually taking your words seriously.
you pulled into the parking lot, making sure to park to your far left. you'd be damn if you were to get trapped today, so parking on the spot all the way at the left end helped you always get out without issues. you took your keys out of ignition, and got out of your vehicle.
while walking you made accidental eye contact with a short man stuck in his car. "oh god, wade did it again." you snorted. you were on a tight clock so you quickly pointed at his passenger door so he could get a hint. it was vague but it would help him not be trapped.
he quickly scrambled out to the side, dusting his jacket once out only to see something in the back of his car catching his attention. you walked past the easily agitated kids and their parents, quickly opening the doors to the school, making your way down the hallway towards the principals office.
you knocked at the door, only to open right after seeing mr. simms sitting down at his desk. you pulled out your phone from your pocket, instantly placing it down in a hurry. "take care of my phone simms!" you yelled at him as you closed the door, not wanting to get held up in conversation.
you opened the door to the teachers lounge, happy to be around the idiotic but loving coworkers you had. "if i'm being honest, he does have these fantastic balls that i just love to play with. they're firmer and fuzzier, so... tennis partner, dave is my tennis partner."
your eyes widened hearing travis talking about balls. "oh god." you face palmed as you made your way to the coffee machine. pouring the pre-made coffee into your drink, you added sugar and creamer. the one thing you did have that these suckers didn't was your own peppermint flavor add-ins. it just made the intense flavor of coffee much more favorable.
you made your way over to a table that was empty, putting down your bag that you always carried with you. it helped you from going insane you in this world of crazy students and teachers. taking a sip from your coffee, you looked out of the window only to hear scraping by you.
you looked up to see that doug had dragged his sofa right by your wooden chair. "hello." he said awkwardly. he wasn't actually awkward, he just sounded like it. his social cues and skills never really did line up with what was considered socially acceptable.
"hi doug, how are you doing this fine morning?" you asked him, while taking a sip. he awkwardly held the yellow book in his hands, placing it in his lap. "the weather is nice today." he says, fumbling around. you look outside, "it's nice, i just prefer colder weather since it's a bit too hot for my liking." you say smiling.
"oh yes! i too prefer colder weather, much better." you laugh at his reaction, "you don't have to change your opinion doug, it's okay to like different things." you say smiling, "besides, what's that book you're holding?" you say pointing at the yellow book.
"oh uh, well." he gives up talking and places the book on the table, sliding it over to you. "'how to have a normal conversation'? interesting book choice but, you don't need that", you say pushing it away, "why don't you try this one?" you say pulling out a book from your bag.
you placed the dark blue book down, letting doug take it in his grasp. "'science and human behavior' by b.f. skinner? i think i will give it a try." he says skimming through the pages. "i thought you'd like it since you're the science teacher here, and what better fun than to pick at the brains of other people, right?" you say smiling.
"i do like picking at brains. did you know that when i was a child a six inch-" doug's rambling was cut short when lucy had yelled your name. you turned apologetically to doug, "i'm sorry doug, can we talk about this later? maybe dinner to catch up?" you ask him. he nodded with a smile.
"okay, i'll meet you at your class after school when the kids are all gone. bye doug, and good luck with your students today." you say reaching over and giving his hand a quick squeeze.
picking up your bag, you walked away to lucy who had introduced you to the new substitute teacher, clint. a short conversation insured but just when you were deciding to leave, doug came out of nowhere. his random pop ups always did make you laugh.
"god it's a scorcher out there, huh? unseasonably warm." clint mumbled a quiet 'yeah', only for lucy to yell out for wade to come by, ignoring doug. although you had already said bye to him you nodded a quick yes to his comments making him smile awkwardly.
wade marched on over, making you mentally sigh knowing he can be pretty harsh on doug's attempts to socialize. you watched as doug moved out of the way, only to look at you nervously. you silently beckoned him closer, making him move awkwardly more to your side, where you sat next to clint's chair.
wade stuck his hand out, introducing himself to clint. "wade johnson. please to meet you with meat to please you." you snorted slightly, trying to not create a scene at how out of pocket his introduction was. "actually, we kind met earlier, you parked me in." clint said after shaking his hand.
you zoned out, only hearing wade struggle to say "dual rear wheel" as gibberish came out in place. you only looked up when you saw wade take the chair next to lucy. "so, heard tell you were a writer. what have you written?" he asked tapping at the ceramic mug in his hold.
"oh, nothing that you've read, yet. i'm actually working on my first novel. oh yeah! it's actually why i'm home. you know, just to hunker down and bang out that story. but, uh, i need a few shekels." he said smiling, with a tooth gap in the front.
a sudden laugh came from behind you, making you look up to see doug behind you, next to the vending machine. "haha! shekels. hebrew for..." he tensely placed him arm on clint's shoulder. "doug." wade said his name sternly, making doug back away. "...currency." he turned around backing away to the vending machine.
"oh can it wade. be nicer to him. he's our coworker, you don't got to be an ass about it." you say rolling your eyes as you take a sip from your drink. wades eyes snapped to you. "what does it matter. it's doug, who cares." he roughly spoke back.
"i care. be nicer to him. you don't have to yell." you say annoyed. "you only care cause you just want to get laid. you're desperate for company." you scoff at his words. "well, he'd be better company than a prick like you." you push your chair back with your drink and bag in your hand, only to grab doug's hand who stumbled behind you out of the teachers lounge.
"come on doug." you say walking towards the hallway that led to your classrooms. "wade could be such a prick sometimes. god i'm sorry you have to deal with that." you say pulling your hand out of his grasp to run your fingers through your hair. you instinctively reach back for his hand, taking it back into yours.
"it's okay. i'm use to wade acting like that with me." he mumbles back. "well you shouldn't, if you have a problem with him, you tell me, okay?" you say standing in front of his classroom door. "i will let you know then y/n. thank you." he smiles, just happy cause of how nice you are to him, and maybe even cause of your hold on his hand.
you saw him as normal, not as the town freak, it made him happy. "of course doug, i'll be right next to you. literally, my class is right there." you laugh pointing at the class across from his.
"oh before you leave, did you really mean it that i would be better company?" you squeezed his hand. "of course i meant it. when do i ever tell a lie?" you raised an eyebrow jokingly, making him smile. "you never do. i feel the same way with you too." you couldn't help the wide smile plastered on your face.
the bell suddenly rang, making you jump slightly, only to remember you were a teacher who had to teach. "well i got to go. remember, dinner tonight, meeting at your class." you say poking at his chest softly. "oh and also," your hands make way towards his vest cardigan. the last two buttons were messed up, so you fixed them for him, making him look a little more put together, "your buttons were messed up."
doug smiles. "ha yeah, i seemed to have found myself rushing today." you laugh with him, "me and you both then, but good luck with your classes today, bye doug." you say waving at him as you start to make way for your door. "bye." doug softly says, opening his class door and making his way in to prepare for his lessons of the day.
you opened your door for your classroom, seeing the kids come in one by one. each kid smiled and waved, giving you a 'hi' and 'hello'. oh you couldn't help but smile when one of your favorite students got to your door. "hi tamra, ready for class?" you ask her, to which she nodded excitedly. "i am!" you smiled at how sweet she was, ushering her and everyone else inside.
standing in front of your desk, you marked down attendance for every student. almost everyone was here besides a couple kids but you'd just give them the work of the day tomorrow for them to do.
time felt so slow as you went over your lectures. oh how you loved teaching english, literature was a beautiful gift to those who chose to admire it. it's a constant part of growing up, kids so young start off with books by authors, such as dr. seuss and more.
suddenly a loud bang ran through the hallway, making your eyes flash to your door. "hold on class, stay put please." you say as you put down your pen. opening the wooden door, you poke your head out to see what the sound could've been.
you look both ways, only seeing a flash of colors escape the hallway. "that's weird.." you mumble to yourself. "sure does!" you jump up only to see doug also peering out of his room. "oh doug you spooked me." you laugh. "sorry, i didn't mean to frighten you."
"oh no no, not at all, just out of nowhere. well i best be going, bye doug." you say waving bye to him. "bye y/n." you smile at him before closing your door. walking back to your desk, you turn to the students, "i'm sorry class for the disruption, now where were we?" you ask picking up the book in your grasp.
"we were on page 27." one of the students let you know. "thank you riley, any questions before we start?" you ask them as you pick your drink to take a sip. another student raised their hand up, making you point at them to continue. "is mr. davis your boyfriend?"
the peppermint coffee you drank hit the back of your throat in a harsh cough. putting the drink down and coughing into your hand, you caught your breath. "*cough* uh no *clears throat* mr. davis is not my boyfriend. he's just my coworker." you nervously said. you don't know how these kids even got the idea.
"i thought he was your boyfriend since you're nice to him. my mommy says that you're the only one who likes him even though he's weird." your jaw dropped. how careless could some parents be to name-call their children's teachers.
a lot of kids shouted in agreement, yelling out more questions like 'have you kissed?' or 'does mr. davis love you too?' and so on. you rubbed your hands on your temples. "everyone quiet down. i'm only going to say this once so listen close." you say taking a seat on your chair pillow.
"mr. davis is my coworker and my friend. he is not my boyfriend. he is also not, and i repeat, not weird. he is unique, the way he thinks and talks is different. and it's his special quirk of his. i am also not the only one who likes him, im sure lots of other people love him. you just don't see it, remember you're students, our personal life's are not out in the open for you all to know every detail. and please, do not call people names." you say sighing.
"i don't tolerate insults or bullying, that goes for students and teachers. now let's go back to our lesson. i won't be entertaining this conversation any longer." you say flipping to the page of the book you left off on.
barely the first day of the week and you were missing the sweet comfort of your bed. you hated monday's so much, but it's not like the day could get worse.
