Hey everyone,
I hate to ask for help but I’m struggling and don’t know what else to do.
This month has been rough. I’ve been back at work full time as a dishwasher but my partner Olivia has had to rely on part-time gigs for money. We didn’t pay October rent on time for that reason, having to wait until our middle of the month checks came in. That meant I couldn’t afford the gift I wanted to get her this year because 100% of my income went directly to rent and late fees.
Now November rent is approaching. My partner received a job offer letter today but because I work at a school and there was a weeklong fall break, my check near the end of the month was half of what it normally is.
Please help a multiracial Jewish trans woman and her Afro-Latina partner stay housed during this difficult transition period for us. We are so close to getting back our feet, we just need a little help to stay stable.
Please help us avoid another late fee. Rent is due November 4th, 2023. Thank you!

No joke, go read The Open Veins of Latin America before even trying to send me a political ask. Mandatory reading.
It's a cliché that every Latin American leftist has read it and quotes it, but that's because it's written in such a clear language with undeniable strenght on its facts. It presents the history of Latin America solidly just in the first few pages, and it only gets more engrossing the more it goes on. While it is now a bit outdated in the sense that it was first published in 1971, the historical, social and political issues presented are -in an unfortunate way- still current. It is a relatively short book, passionate and in a clear, poetic language.
Sometimes it's good to return to the basics, and this is THE basic book if you want to understand the effects of imperialism in Latin America, and our struggle for freedom and identity.
Instead of losing your time with half baked twitteroid takes, go read it. Here you go, for free, in Spanish, Portuguese and English:

Me before watching Princess Tutu: the death penalty is an abhorrent institution even when used on the most heinous of criminals, even when used on someone that you know is guilty, because all human beings are capable of growth and change and all human life is sacred
Me after watching Princess Tutu: the men and women that executed Drosselmeyer were guided by the divine hand of Justice, herself. their only fault was in not making him suffer more
