I'm reminded that a good chunk of the Unseen University's purpose is to stop Wizards getting good at magic, because that tends to result in city-levelling magical duels and holes in the fabric of reality.
Unseen University had never admitted women, muttering something about problems with the plumbing, but the real reason was an unspoken dread that if women were allowed to mess around with magic they would probably be embarrassingly good at it.

You have chosen, or been chosen, to relocate to one of our finest remaining social networking websites. I thought so much of Tumblr that I elected to establish my Administration here, in the Citadel so thoughtfully provided by Our Benefactors. I have been proud to call Tumblr my home. And so, whether you are here to stay, or passing through on your way to parts unknown, welcome to Tumblr. It’s safer here.
love to get tours of architecturally award-winning buildings from the people that work there. especially libraries, for some reason. I have never seen a well-designed architectural library. highlights I have seen include:
it's mostly glass and all the panes leak (many such cases)
they forgot to account for the weight of books and now it's subsiding
it's mostly glass and therefore essentially a greenhouse. books and people studying famously love wild winter-summer temperature fluctuations
it's Round. books tend not to be
they put the radiator just under the window....which is a skylight
the only lift is for moving books, so if you can't use the stairs, you'll have to go out, use the main building lift, and come back in on another floor. doors on other floors need a special access keycard
we built this space specifically to house manuscripts but the temp/humidity control is always on the blink
the stairs/corridors are too Aesthetically Narrow and if you want to pass another person, you have to awkwardly crab shuffle past each other
there are no walls separating the library from the rest of the faculty building. no one's ever wanted a quiet study space, after all
You should play Tactical Breach Wizards, the only game that feels the need to, in a dream sequence, reassure one of the characters that play testers like them as people, even after fixing the balance issues.
Look, Rion. The only way I know to knock Liv off this incredibly tall building is to chain-lightning through her and her intended swap target. I tried to arrange it so she was the only one to get knocked off, but that just wasn't an option. Yours was a necessary sacrifice, and it honestly wasn't even that sacrifice-ey. Banks shot you in the head and brought you back to life. She even undid all the damage your lungs took from brellium calcite, so honestly you're doing better than if I didn't knock you off the roof!
Huh? Why did I need to knock Liv off the roof? Don't ask stupid questions!
something mysterious has appeared
these are my thotz as someone who has been directly exposed to 2022 and 1966 batman within less than a month: there's a sweet spot between silly/gloomy ways to write bruce wayne, there's unpleasant extremes, and then there's the real extremes that are such weird little freaks that they make perfect sense
sao fans invented a personality for kirito that he’s literally never had and then call reki a bad writer for… writing him with his real personality
