40th Anniversary ROTTMNT Farewell Chapter Spoiler below!

Dang Splinter. Way to throw you arch-nemesis/fellow dad/it's complicated under the bus at the very last second. You know he totally did that on purpose just to annoy poor Draxum and fortify his top spot as best dad for all eternity.

Been holding off on posting this image for days to avoid spoiling people too early on. People have been asking for my opinion on the special and I have to say I absolutely loved it, but will probably wait a few more days to properly discuss.

I have always seen Leo2012 as a golden child, the type that doesn't throw tantrums or pranks, a little angel. Quite the opposite with Rise Leo, who is a machine of occurrences and mischief.

I think Leo2012 would scold Rise Leo a lot XD

I have fought so hard that there is nothing left but to surrender to the darkness that consumes my soul…

I think that's what he would regret... I'm sure he would do it to protect his family. After all, he sacrifices himself because he doesn't care what happens to him, as long as his family is safe.

Sonic, the heroic hero who is brave, free, and pure of heart. A boy who has incredible power, even within his own world. A natural being who is capable of harnessing Chaos power and running as fast as sound.

Born to be a hero.

I have the headcanon that he is the being the prophecies mention, the savior and protector his world sent.

I have the idea that when he was little, he couldn't control this energy well; the amount of power he had confused him, and he simply existed, without personality, friendships, or even emotions. I like to think that meeting little Tails and taking care of him was a defining moment in his becoming the Sonic we know.

So I finally got around to completing the second place prize for the Replica Holiday Special Cover Contest haha. The winner was Cupcakeslushie and their prize was technically a black and white commission, though I couldn't help myself and threw in a third color to get the point across that it's empyrean he's standing in.

Cupcakeslushie's only request for the drawing was that it be her Leo from Empyrean Weeping, which is probably my favorite teen Leo in the whole fandom. I've always admired Cupcakeslushie for her striking imagery and gorgeous depictions of the mystic arts so I really wanted to capture that feeling here. I hope you like it Cupcakeslushie!
