Winks & Sheeps (Incantation Spell + Sigil) 🌌

Here’s a spell for a clarifying sleep! I thought of sharing this since it’s become sort of my nightly routine ever since. Not to mention how I fell asleep during the making of this so yeah really effective.

What you’ll need:

✨ Sigil (to be drawn onto your skin using either your night moisturizer or even just tracing it onto you skin with your finger.)

✨ Calming sounds (optional)

✨A glass of water

✨Comfortable sleeping space

To begin, trace the sigil onto your skin, keep in mind your intent.

Next, take a sip of the water and think of it as cleansing your body. With the rest of the water, cleanse your space by focusing the negative energy onto it. You can throw away the water or save it to use for charging crystals or plants.

Lay down, place a hand on your chest or temple (depending on where you feel needs more clarity, emotion or mind).

Chant the following, imagine the energy enlighten you and ease your mind as you do:

✨ “Light of lady night embrace my weary form.”

✨ “Moonlight glow let your silver envelope me.”

✨ “Darkness hold back my demons and allow sunlight to fade it with you.”

✨ “Inner self, keep mind and heart in balance as I slumber.”

Noelle Build Guide

Noelle is a character that everyone has access to and is a fan favorite. She’s also been on several rate ups recently so I figured I’d go ahead and do a guide for everyone’s favorite shield maiden.

Role

Noelle is an interesting case because when you read her talents and kit she screams support, but she’s actually much better as a DPS....if built right. This is in large part due to her not regenerating energy well on her own. Generally, supports need good ER to be effective at their role. It’s one of the main reasons Bennett is so good at what he does. When a support can’t contribute energy particles to the rest of the team it makes them feel very clunky to play and outclassed by other supports.

Basically, Noelle is a support character that needs to be supported, so it’s honestly easier just to build her as a DPS.

She can be a bit challenging to build at c0 for this role, but doable. If your Noelle is c6 then she’s a monster.

Noelle can still be a great support, especially at c1+. She just needs other supports that can help her regenerate energy so she can keep her ult up.

Gameplay tip: When using her to heal use her spin charge attack to get the most healing per second

Talents

As a DPS prioritize Noelles normal attacks first, her Burst second and her shield last. As a support do the exact opposite!

Noelle’s talents ascend with books of Resistance, Hilichurl Masks and at higher levels, Dvalin’s Claw.

As a support Noelle is fine to stop at Lv70/80. As a DPS take her to Lv90

Weapons

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Serpent Spine; Whiteblind; Blackcliff Slasher; Litchic Blade;

Redhorn Stonethresher is BiS. If your energy recharge is high enough, the BP weapon Serpent Spine is second best for main carry Noelle because she can abuse its passive. If ER is low Skyward Pride can be better than SS. If you don’t want to spend the $10 and don’t have any of the 5⭐️ listed above there are other options in the blackcliff and litchic claymores. Keep in mind that Atk% claymores like the Unforged and WGS are better than *most* 4 star options, but not as effective as the other options listed since Noelle scales off Defense, especially with c6.

The craftable weapon Whiteblind is BiS for support Noelle. It’s not really recommended for DPS as much as the other listed options though.

If your Noelle is c6 Husk of Opulent Dreams is without a doubt the best set bonus to go for. Even prior to c6 It’s still the most consistent option.

Any of the above sets can work depending on what you want to get out of Noelle. For more healing, Maiden is the best bet but it can also be paired with Husk for stronger shield or retracing Bolide to make her more tanky during sweeping time. 🧹

Note: Defenders is better for overall stronger shield whereas Bolide is better if Noelle is on the field a lot. Bolide only affects the wearer, not the entire team.

Support Noelle keeps it simple with stats. Stack DEF% and ER and she’s good to go. Shoot for at least 180% ER

Team Comps

BiS teammates for Noelle are other geo characters that can help her regenerate energy particles. This is almost a necessity as a DPS to keep the uptime of her ult. Gorou is her best support as DPS.

Beyond Geo Resonance Noelle doesn’t really have too many limitations as far as team comps go. As a DPS she pairs well with sub DPS who can battery her to keep her ult up. Gorou, Zhongli and Albedo are amazing options if you have them. Bennett and Fischl are good partners for their shield breaking capabilities and Fischl’s off-field damage. Xingqiu is also a great battery. As a support you just swap Noelle in to tank damage and heal her your teammates with her charged attacks so really she works with anyone, but she will need a battery.

TLDR

Noelle is a really cute character that comes in clutch if she’s built right. She is much better overall with her constellations but still viable even at c0. Her talents ascend with books of Resistance, Hilichurl Masks, and Dvalin’s Claw. Serpent Spine and Whiteblind are her best weapons for DPS and Support respectively. Husk of Opulent Dreams is her best artifact set.She relies on her teammates to regenerate energy for her since she can’t do it on her own.

Just like. once a month, Alma and Louis go spend one week with Stede and Ed. It's supposed to be safe, like in one week they can't go far, but then anything goes at sea. They got attacked twice. It's a shared agreement to not tell Doug and Mary. Alma starts idolizing Jim because they're so cool. Louis has the whole crew melting and spoiling him. When she's 12, Alma enters a pirate phase and yes, Mary gives a look at Stede "You realize this is because of you, right?" "Yes, sorry" (he's not. he's ecstatic. his heart breaks when at 13 Alma finds pirates are lame now). Meanwhile Louis is learning how to steal and where to stab a man between a cooking and sewing lesson. When he gets interested in fashion, Louis uses the crew as models, and everyone has to be nice and supportive even when he gets experimental. Stede has to stop the crew from teaching Alma how to cheat at poker. She still learns how to cheat at poker. Families of kids being mean to them will find themselves attacked by pirates when they first go on sea after it happened. Alma and Louis are unstoppable.

Mo Dao Zu Shi Fic Recs Post 2

Hey y’all really liked my post of fic recs for this fandom.  I’ve read more, so I’m back!  Still almost entirely Wangxian, mostly canon setting.

First up I gave this fic it’s own post as soon as I read it, but to repeat myself: Grand Pianos Crash Together by @megafaunatic (E, 11K, Complete, Wangxian) - This is my ultimate post-The Untamed/CQL fic.   It has such marvelous tension, where both WWX and LWJ want to be together and almost are acknowledging it, but they just…haven’t…quite…kissed…yet…  Covers a year of  separation from LWJ’s POV and the reunion on the mountain ridge and what happens next.

The (Several) Convenient Kidnappings of the Chief Cultivator by the Yiling Patriarch by MissCam (M, 4K, Oneshot, Wangxian) - Another ending for CQL, this one totally hilarious.  Turns out Lan Wangji is too virtuous to be Chief Cultivator, so no one really minds when the Yiling Patriarch keeps kidnapping him for extended periods of time.  Ultimately very sweet as well.

A Day in Yunmeng by suspiciouspopsicle (aka the Breaking Through series) (E, 13K/35K, 3 stories complete, Wangxian) - This rec is really for the series as a whole.  The first fic is rather hot and memorable, but it’s the arc of this canon divergent series as a whole that I really like.  It’s Yiling Patriarch/Lan Wangji starting from the scene with WWX’s undead handmaidens, which turns dark and sexy.  It’s a pretty dark and angsty take on this pair with lots of power games and WWX being pretty darn broken and LWJ just trying to reach him, but ultimately the two of them finding a way out of it.  May make you cry.  (Also, note bottom!LWJ)

Bind Me, Heal Me, Break Me by gotcocomilk (E, 11K, Complete, Wangxian) - Lan Wangji visits the Burial Mounds and stays.  Yiling Patriarch!Wei Wuxian is very unstable and self-hating in this one, but LWJ slowly gives him back his warmth and life.  Featuring lots of bottom!LWJ sex and resentful energy tentacles, and some very lovely language.  Really brittle and bitter and yet beautiful.  Healing through smut, one of my favorite things.

and so my heart beats wildly by @omgkatsudonplease (E, 106K, Complete, Wangxian) - I hadn’t read this yet when I made my last recs post but I have finally.  It’s Modern AU with cultivation, in which cultivation is a sport played in Hunger Games-like arenas.  Since both the author and I came from YOI fandom, the similarities of cultivation as a sport with figure skating are appreciated.  In fact, this feels a bit like a Yuri on Ice AU of MDZS.  Nicely done with WWX and LWJ as public rivals but maybe private friends…maybe more.  While being watched by a rabid fanbase including shippers.  Great plot, also.  And So Much Figure Skating Snark.

Words Fall Like Rain by marginalia (M, 1K, Oneshot, Wangxian) - WWX makes LWJ use his words to say what he wants in bed.  I just really like this and think it’s lovely.

it’s your soul by syriala (M, 3K, Oneshot, Wangxian) - Wangxian had a sexual relationship prior to WWX’s death but WWX doesn’t think LWJ returns his feelings.  He’s also self-conscious because he doesn’t have the same body that LWJ used to enjoy so much.  Somewhat heavy on the angst and pining, but a happy ending.  I’d been thinking about WWX’s insecurity aboiut his new body before reading this and it really did it well.

It’s Only Time by etymologyplayground  (T, 8K, Complete, Wangxian) - Set post-CQL and consisting mostly of letters written back and forth between WWX and LWJ.  I didn’t know how much I needed pining love letters written by these two until I started this fic.  This is one of those fics that will make you nearly DIE with the beautiful longing and gradual confessions.  Amazing, wonderful, genius, etc.  Plus the reunion.  Run, don’t walk to read this one.

yeah it’s true (that I fell for you) by @thirtysixsavefiles​ (M, 8K, Oneshit,  Lan Xichen/Nie Mingjue)  OMG it’s a different pairing!  It’s also modern AU.  Look I want LXC to have a happy ending and I love this ship but it’s not a happy one in canon.  But this..WWX makes an online dating profile for LXC who is convinced he’s being catfished when NMJ from his company starts texting him.  But playing along turns into genuine connection and sexy messages and…it’s funny and sweet and hot.  

let’s you and me go for a ride by @dreaming-fireflies (T, 21K, Complete, Wangxian) - Another author from YOI fandom who is now writing MDZS. Modern AU in which WWX and JC are motoGP racers and the Lans are wealthy sponsor of their team.  Sweet falling in love, with fairly dramatic plot that is well-translated to the new setting.  I really like all the character details and quietly sweet moments.
