Aga started out working in a public shelter and conditions there were HORRIBLE. She took over it but they kept cutting funds, so at one point she decided to indebt herself to build her own shelter.

Carina Nebula

This landscape of “mountains” and “valleys” speckled with glittering stars, called the Cosmic Cliffs, is the edge of the star-birthing Carina Nebula. Usually, the early phases of star formation are difficult to capture, but Webb can peer through cosmic dust—thanks to its extreme sensitivity, spatial resolution, and imaging capability. Protostellar jets clearly shoot out from some of these young stars in this new image.

Southern Ring Nebula

The Southern Ring Nebula is a planetary nebula: it’s an expanding cloud of gas and dust surrounding a dying star. In this new image, the nebula’s second, dimmer star is brought into full view, as well as the gas and dust it’s throwing out around it. (The brighter star is in its own stage of stellar evolution and will probably eject its own planetary nebula in the future.) These kinds of details will help us better understand how stars evolve and transform their environments. Finally, you might notice points of light in the background. Those aren’t stars—they’re distant galaxies.

Stephan’s Quintet

Stephan’s Quintet, a visual grouping of five galaxies near each other, was discovered in 1877 and is best known for being prominently featured in the holiday classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” This new image brings the galaxy group from the silver screen to your screen in an enormous mosaic that is Webb’s largest image to date. The mosaic covers about one-fifth of the Moon’s diameter; it contains over 150 million pixels and is constructed from almost 1,000 separate image files. Never-before-seen details are on display: sparkling clusters of millions of young stars, fresh star births, sweeping tails of gas, dust and stars, and huge shock waves paint a dramatic picture of galactic interactions.

WASP-96 b

WASP-96 b is a giant, mostly gas planet outside our solar system, discovered in 2014. Webb’s Near-Infrared Imager and Slitless Spectrograph (NIRISS) measured light from the WASP-96 system as the planet moved across the star. The light curve confirmed previous observations, but the transmission spectrum revealed new properties of the planet: an unambiguous signature of water, indications of haze, and evidence of clouds in the atmosphere. This discovery marks a giant leap forward in the quest to find potentially habitable planets beyond Earth.

Webb's First Deep Field

This image of galaxy cluster SMACS 0723, known as Webb’s First Deep Field, looks 4.6 billion years into the past. Looking at infrared wavelengths beyond Hubble’s deepest fields, Webb’s sharp near-infrared view reveals thousands of galaxies—including the faintest objects ever observed in the infrared—in the most detailed view of the early universe to date. We can now see tiny, faint structures we’ve never seen before, like star clusters and diffuse features and soon, we’ll begin to learn more about the galaxies’ masses, ages, histories, and compositions.

These images and data are just the beginning of what the observatory will find. It will study every phase in the history of our Universe, ranging from the first luminous glows after the Big Bang, to the formation of solar systems capable of supporting life on planets like Earth, to the evolution of our own Solar System.

This Needs To Stop

Can we please stop with the sexualization of anime kiddos? Like honestly. I'm tired of trying to look up art of certain anime series and seeing art of their very young characters in an inappropriate position or just flat out nudes/hentai type crap. It's not okay and it's disgusting. Whenever I try to bring this up, I always hear "It's not pedophilia type art because they aren't real/ there's no problem with it because they aren't real/ Well you are MAPSphobic for not supporting it/ it's your fault for seeing it."

First of all, it does matter, even if they aren't fricken real! They are kids. Real or not. THEY ARE KIDS! And the fact that you try SO HARD to say anything to make it seem like it's okay or not that bad, just goes to show me a little bit of what's fricken going on in that dayum brain of yours! It's disgusting and wrong. It's not welcome here.

Second of all, it's my fault for looking at it? Pardon me for scrolling through an anime art website! It's not at all, in any way, my fault for seeing it. When you create something and post it on the internet, that is your responsibility in knowing that people will see it. Here's a solution: Just don't post crap like that. How about that? Just make normal beautiful art and stop sexualizing these dayum kiddos!

Third of all, "There's no problem with it." There's no problem with it? Are you fricken kidding me? You are telling me (from a digital artist perspective) that there is nothing wrong with you sitting down, planning a piece of art of a kid being railed (pardon my blunt example) and then spending hours on drawing, coloring and shading? You expect me to not find anything wrong with that? Really? There are a lot of things wrong with that! You are just so sick in the head that you don't realize it.

Fourth of all, MAPSPhobic? Yes I am. I am Mapsphobic. Why? I would never let a MINOR ATTRACTED PERSON around my dayum kids. I would never let a MINOR ATTRACTED PERSON into my dayum home. I would never want to be friends with a MINOR ATTRACTED PERSON. I would never have a PEDOPHILE work for me. Because that's what you are. A PEDOPHILE. A "MINOR ATTRACTED PERSON." Yes, I am scared of you. Wanna know why? You people are so sick in the dayum head that you tried NORMALIZING your screwed up way of thinking.

Anyways. End of my essay. WE NEED TO STOP normalizing and being okay with these people. Even if they are friends or family. I get it can be hard but like STOP. Real kids or not. It's disgusting, wrong, immoral and I sure as hail ain't going to encourage that mind set.

Hey UA teachers, do you guys have any dating advice? I've never dated before. I don't even know where to start and I am just super duper nervous. I dislike dating apps though. I just don't trust not being able to see the person who is hitting me up/ I'm hitting up. I'm a girl and that just doesn't make me feel comfortable. But like, how do I even start? Do I just wait for someone to be interested in me and see where that goes? Help!? 😢

But I’m still interested in hearing what Kayama and Yamada bring to the table since we’re having this conversation anyway.

Nemuri Kayama: Uhm, speak for yourself Snipe, I’ve still got it. *Flips her hair* Alright, so anon I wouldn’t rule out online dating completely, I understand that it’s not the greatest, however it does have its perks. As long as you go about it safely, you should be okay! As for finding dates in the real world, you should go to events where you get to socialise with like minded individuals. Girls usually have better luck in the dating game compared to guys, so the most you’ll have to do is look nice, and people will definitely slide in your dms, as the kids these days say. *Chuckles* But, if this isn’t working out don’t be afraid to be bold and initiate with someone you’re interested in, this isn’t 1872. As long as its consented on both sides who cares who approaches who first.

Hizashi Yamada: Alright listener, so we’re not aware of your age, but if you’re an adult and you’re allowed in bars and clubs, we DO NOT recommend those as good places to meet people. Especially if you are looking for something long term and serious. If you’re not looking for something serious, clubs and bars are ideal, but be careful and stay safe. Guard your drink with your life. If you’re a minor this doesn’t apply to you. We suggest though, going to more sensible places and making friends first, so like, your college or school, lgbtq groups, community groups in your area, if you’re religious your church, mosque or temple, we don’t know about dating in the workplace that one is a tricky area and you will have to see your workplace policies. I’d avoid work to be honest, it can get messy. But yo! My point is sign up or join a community you like and then you’ll meet someone who shares your hobbies at least, ya dig? This is much easier online, but not impossible irl. If you don’t score a date, at best you’ll score a friend which isn’t a loss. Speaking of friends, ask your friends to hook you up too! Its not a bad thing, at least you can trust them to set you up with someone you’ll get on with since they know you so well! You’re gonna have many dates that suck before you find the person you adore most, so brace yourself listener!

Nemuri Kayama: For tips online, depending on what type of websites you browse, you could put something on your profile to let people know you won’t interact with people who have no profile photos or little to no information on their profiles. You need to know all of these things first hand, so set your boundaries. If you wanna be extreme with online safety, get yourself a VPN so your location is hidden, and google reverse image search anyone you suspect of being a catfish. If you happen to get harassed online, keep screenshots for evidence, report the individual too. The block button is your friend too! Having high standards is a good thing, and the person who can meet your standards will definitely come to you, do not settle. If the sites you are browsing are just normal social media websites not intended for dating, like instagram, twitter, tumblr etc (The whole world is thirsty, so someone will even hit you up in spaces that aren’t intended for dating) then really take your time getting to know the individual and again, SET YOUR BOUNDARIES. Trust your gut and don’t fall prey to bullcrap. If they can’t respect you, screw them, someone who can meet your standards will come along. When you are at the talking stage, ask them questions. Tough ones too. Really test them. Don’t be afraid. They have to be someone you can trust. When you meet them in person, always always always drive yourself to and back. Do not get in their car, do not let them drive you home and know where you live. Go meet somewhere very public with a bunch of people around. Mall dates are great! Always also have a friend or family member tracking your location at all times and keep texting them your status. We heroes have your back if you’re ever in trouble, but please take these safety measures all the time. Its tough for us ladies out there! 😩

can we just send characters any quesions?

Good question!

A really annoying thing we keep seeing repeated here, is random questions that have nothing to do with anything. We’ve experienced spam like this several times.

When asking characters stuff, please keep it in that characters realm. Things they would actually care for and answer properly. We answer in two manners: Canon & Headcanon

If the topic has canon information, yes we can answer it canonically. For example: “Does Levi like tea?” We know he does. So he would give a response that fits within the canon.

If the topic is something we don’t know exists in canon material, the admins will respond with personal headcanons we have, like the Sandwich question we answered for the pro heroes. That or we will bend the rules slightly to make responses more funny. Depends on how we receive the question and how creative we get.

Now, the very random questions are the ones that when we read it, we think “Why would this character care about this topic?” For example, we had a very spammy anon, that kept asking the pussycats about random rap artists that were just ????? Why would a middle aged man and three middle aged japanese women who dress in cat hero costumes care about 6ix9ine’s music? Its just a bit random you know? At least direct the music questions to Present Mic or Jirou. We can surely come up with headcanon responses for any characters when it comes to their favourite things, but make it make sense!

Consider their realms when sending in questions. Consider their ages. Consider their personalities! We cover this more here & here. Will that character you’re aiming the ask towards care about the topic? This is by no means to discourage you from sending asks! Send them in! We love them. The characters love being summoned! But if you’ve run out of things to ask, you don’t always have to make it an interesting shock value ask just to stand out, you can simply say hi. They will still appreciate it. If you intend to send a confusing ask to cause chaos, by no means are we stopping you, but just send them to characters that would care or react. If you poke fun at a character that takes themselves super seriously and isn’t the humorous type, expect a stand offish, offended or disagreeable reaction, because that particular character is the serious type, and you’ll probably have to work again to mend that relationship. So these are things to consider!

Sending pop culture questions to the older characters, of course you’re not gonna get the enthusiasm in a response that you want, they are older and they likely won’t care. Unless it’s one of those adults that try to be hip and down with the kids. Like yes, we have a few inside blog jokes and running gags, like ALLmeme, but take into account who you are sending an ask to, and if your question is in that character’s realm. Younger characters will understand memes and such better. Also consider their time periods in canon universe. You’re going to have to teach the Demon slayer cast about memes and such, they are from the past, they wouldn’t know.

Also remember that we are people behind these characters. We have lives outside of this, and don’t have time to watch or read every single episode, or ova or chapter or are trying to catch up on watching/reading etc So some information will be a miss, and we will try to correct it the best we can, just keeping it real. Some characters we have more of a connection to than others and we can write some better than others. Some of these fandoms we are invested in more than others. And not all of the admins write for every single fandom listed, Some admins will try and fill in for others and answer for a fandom or character they aren’t familiar with. Please be patient with us, we are trying. We aren’t robots. We will try our best to deliver to you the best we can, but if we fall short, it is what it is.

So in short, just MAKE IT MAKE SENSE! But have fun, of course. -Admin Kari
