Man, I´ve never drawn fishes before. I think I did really well for the first try. I´m gonna overwork it tomorrow.

Kurobe Dam (黒部ダム)

Standing at a height of 186m, Kurobe dam is Japan’s tallest dam; for my ‘Manechester’ friends, that’s 15m taller than the Beetham Tower! It has a installed hydroelectric capacity of 335MW and began operation in 1963. Surrounded by mountains in the Toyama prefecture (富山県), on the misty day I visited, it really felt in the heavens.

Morning on the crater (朝に噴火口)

After sunrise we walked a bit around the crater rim to find another trail to descend the mountain. There were many more people here at this time. Around the crater, there is a weather station, two heritage sites and even a post office which we slept besides (it wasn’t open).
